Someone wrote a 9/11 episode of Seinfeld, and it’s pretty bonkers

 

Seinfeld may have aired its last episode in 1998, but in the mind of comedian Billy Domineau, Jerry, George, Elaine, and Kramer were still around mulling about and hanging at Monk’s Cafe well past the year 2000. In fact, Domineau, a former Onion News Network writer and current freelance joke writer for SNL‘s “Weekend Update”, actually penned a spec script for a Seinfeld episode that takes place just days after the tragic 9/11 attacks, as Splitsider points out. It’s titled “The Twin Towers” and features 44 pages of a near-perfect characterization of the classic sitcom’s stars, which is to say that Jerry & co. didn’t let one of New York City’s darkest days in history stand in the way of their usual selves.

 

Speaking to The Comic’s Comic, Domineau said that he “was helping someone write a sketch a few months back and told them theirs needed to be an exercise in bad taste, ‘Like imagine if there was a 9/11 episode of Seinfeld…,” and then proceeded to run with the idea himself for kicks.
