Hello everybody again.Thanks a lot for the appreciation that show me for my previous tactics.Even if you have some arguments ,its acceptable ,because we can explore so much through discussion ,arguing and reviewing the posts.In this post ,I will share you some of my favourite tactics.Actually ,in FM I work mostly with average clubs.Not with minor clubs ,but with average one.I think that the biggest challenge is to establish a former big club ,or an average club ,into a very competitive and balanced side.For example ,only a few believed that Juventus would be in the 2nd position in Serie .The media predictions were about 6-7th position.Now Juve ,is back and give in every match many answers in the pitch.In this transformation of Juve ,Claudio Ranieri played a major part.When Ranieri last year took over the debt Parma ,everyone was laughing.Parma was in the bottom of Serie A ,and with Ranieri in charge ,saved easily and wan unbeatable for 11 matches.Also Parma ,made some qualifications in Italian Cup.Offcourse ,I dont believe that Ranieri is a looser as many people believe ,noway.I am greek ,and I watch all the news in Italia.I have to inform you that Ranieri was in charge in Victor Lamezzia ,at the begginin of his coaching carreer.Victor Lamezia ,is a town in Italia .Actually a big village.That club was under Ranieri ,for 3 years in Serie B.The tactics that you will see ,are defensive tactics ,but they are very effecient .If use these tactics ,with clubs like Juventus or Benfica ,its very possible to remain unbeatable for many many games.I used all these tactics in the club that I worked with great result.In OFK Beograd ,I had a tittle challenge ,I finished 2nd and until 3 games of the end of the league I was so close to the tittle.OFK is a serbian club.It's like Braga .The predictions at the early season consider me a good team ,and I conceded just 12 goals in 33 matches.Offcourse ,the roster was short ,and the quality of the players wasnt the best...But I finished 8 points in front of Red Star.An another good example is PAOK.PAOK is one of the most popular clubs in Balkan.This club has a great history ,but the last years ,due to serious financial problems cannot purchase good players .Even though ,I achieved a 3rd position with this club and I also won the greek cup.In 30 games in the greek league ,I conceded just 4 defeats.My record was 13w 13 dr 4los.In any case ,using these tactics ,I achieved very respectable results with just mediorce teams.I tried these tactics in Juventus ,and I made 21 consecutive victories in Serie A.In these 21 matches ,I have conceded just 6 goals.

Hi there Van_Basten!

 

I've tried your tactics, i didn't expected much, as i was managing a lower league team in Portugal. I realized that i was wrong, when i started to achieve great results as 8-0!!!!

Unfortnatly AI soon was able to counteract the tactic... oh, i must say that i was using 4-3-2-1 maselani tactic, as my team seemed to be good at front, but not at the back... so playing defensively wouldn't be a good idea... Even so i was able to finish 2nd with Ribeira Brava (picked by the media to end 10th).

 

Do you have any ideas to adapt the tactic to a lower league team in order to make life dificult to AI?

 

I also made some tweakes to individual instructions but only on the run's, crosses, through passes... that kind of stuff.

 

By the way, your tactics are some kind of templates or are they full developed?

 

Keep up the good work Van_Basten, and don't be worried about the few tributes to your thread, at least 1 person(me) is finding your threads very useful!

 

 

P.S. Ended 2nd division Serie B with 72 goals against 30 conceded! Rui Gomes as scored 35 in 24 games!
