Eu se quiser reciclar tenho que fazer 6km para encontrar um contentor que não seja de lixo comum. Obviamente que estou feliz com esta medida porque vão utilizar o dinheiro que fazem para colocar ecopontos em zonas mais rurais, porque tudo isto é feito em prol do ambiente, com certeza!

Antes disso, contudo, houve um desafio por parte do veterano Masanobu Fuchi ao AJPW World Junior Heavyweight champion Jushin Thunder Liger, que este aceitou. Fuchi mostrou recentemente, incluindo neste tour, estar numa boa forma, obtendo bons resultados e, segundo o veterano, também ele ex-campeão dominante da divisão, esta pode ser a sua derradeira oportunidade e ele não a quer desperdiçar, ficando assim combate marcado para o evento final do AJPW Champion Carnival 1996. Restava apenas o main event da noite nove, um combate que iria decidir muito sobre o estado deste grupo e lançar as bases para as quatro jornadas que ainda faltam: iria Bret "the Hitman" Hart conseguir a vitória e, consequentemente, formar um quarteto de quatro líderes na frente do grupo ou, por outro lado, iria Big Van Vader manter a sua série cem por cento vitoriosa e, assim, continuar de pedra e cal no seu trono, vendo possíveis contenders caírem um a um? CHAMPION CARNIVAL - BLOCK A - ROUND 5 vs. BIG VAN VADER [8] vs. BRET "HITMAN" HART [6] O ainda invicto Big Van Vader, atual AJPW World Tag Team champion, encontrava-se aqui, no main event desta nona noite de competição, frente a Bret "Hitman" Hart, curiosamente um dos dois homens a quem os MastoDeath haviam conquistado os títulos, com a sua vitória na AJPW Real World Tag League 1995. Os combates entre os The Harts e os agora campeões estão ainda bem vivos na memória, mas a verdade é que este era o primeiro confronto em singulares entre os dois. Apesar de ser extremamente vantajoso, como é óbvio, para Big Van Vader, continuar a sua série de vitórias e manter a liderança isolada do Block A deste AJPW Champion Carnival 1996, a verdade é que a pressão estava toda do lado de Bret "Hitman" Hart que, em caso de derrota, ficaria não só a uns já longínquos quatro pontos de distância da liderança, com apenas mais oito ainda em disputa mas também teria uma desvantagem importante no confronto direto. Como já provou várias vezes, contudo, Bret "Hitman" Hart tem pedigree de campeão e não perdeu a hipótese de se agigantar contra Big Van Vader, tomando as rédeas do combate e assumiu as despesas do mesmo. O que acabou por correr mal ao campeão foi o facto de o simples tamanho de Big Van Vader tornar difícil de aplicar o Sharpshooter, e o final do combate acabou mesmo por vir daí, com a manobra de submissão a não ser aplicada de forma absolutamente correta, permitindo um counter que lançou Hart de cabeça contra o canto do ringue. Algo atordoado e posicionado de forma perfeita para a clássica manobra do Mastodon, o ex-AJPW World Tag Team champion não resistiu a uma Vader Bomb que decidiu o combate e deixa assim Big Van Vader como ainda o alvo a abater neste Block A. BIG VAN VADER DEF. BRET "HITMAN" HART [100] - 28:16 O Block B chegara ao fim da terceira jornada com os dois grandes rivais, Mitsuharu Misawa e Kenta Kobashi em igualdade no topo da tabela com seis pontos. Este status quo, contudo, rapidamente mudou, com a derrota de Kobashi frente a Akira Taue, no main event da noite oito, o que deixou Misawa isolado na liderança do grupo, perseguido agora por um trio que, para além dos já referidos Kobashi e Taue, contava também com "Dr. Death" Steve Williams. Williams, o AJPW World Tag Team champion, era precisamente o adversário que o atual AJPW Triple Crown champion iria encontrar no último combate da quinta ronda, combate esse essencial para as contas de um grupo onde tanto Akira Taue quanto Kenta Kobashi cumpriram a sua missão na décima noite, colando-se assim, à condição, a Mitsuharu Misawa na liderança do grupo, com oito pontos. DEATH" STEVE WILLIAMS [6] As implicações deste main event da noite dez, no Block B, eram basicamente iguais às que o main event da noite anterior, no Block A, entre Big Van Vader e Bret "Hitman" Hart haviam tido: um líder isolado do grupo, ainda invicto, neste caso Mitsuharu Misawa, a tentar manter a sua posição contra um challenger, "Dr. Death" Steve Williams, que sabia que, embora matematicamente ainda continuasse vivo, uma derrota neste combate colocaria em muito sério risco as suas hipóteses de tentar ainda vencer a competição. A grande diferença é que, neste caso, não era o elemento dos MastoDeath a estar na posição dominante. Quem assistiu ao combate, contudo, não adivinharia isso, com o AJPW World Tag Team champion a partir sem medos para cima de um Mitsuharu Misawa que, nos últimos dois anos tem sido absolutamente dominante em singles matches, como o demonstra o seu reinado de quase dois anos como AJPW Triple Crown champion. E para acrescentar ao que o Scirea e bem diz, quando eu estava mais por dentro disto (estamos a falar na altura da TEIP2), exceção feita a casos raros que até partiam mais da iniciativa própria e casmurrice de certos professores/diretores, o que acontecia de forma mais usual era um nivelamento por baixo dos resultados escolares, sendo certo que havia uma redução no número de "chumbos" (que por si só, num vácuo, indicam muito pouco da qualidade da educação), mas havia também uma acentuada descida no número de alunos com resultados de excelência, fruto da desmotivação, no cumprimento de serviços mínimos na qual o Scirea toca, mas até numa espécie de profecia auto-cumprida em que certos professores, quando colocados numa escola TEIP, basicamente recusavam-se em dar boas notas aos alunos, colocando um limite artificial, porque estavam numa escola de alunos problemáticos, não fazia sentido na cabeça deles que, no meio desses, existissem alunos brilhantes, aplicados e com bom aproveitamento.

Já agora, dizer que o Wemby bateu o record de blocks num jogo da postseason, com 12, o anterior record era 10, conseguido em três ocasiões: Mark Eaton em 1985, Hakeem em 1990 e Bynum (omg, the PTSD!) em 2012. Se alargarmos à regular season, é a primeira vez em mais de dez anos que alguém atinge a dúzia de blocks. A última vez foi o Hassan Whiteside, em janeiro de 2015.

Tiger Mask hopes to hit Fukuoka as the new IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, and if he does upset DOUKI for the belt, he'll be the target of Master Wato and YOH tonight. At any rate, the Best of the Super Jr. implications are certainly present here, especially between Wato and Taguchi, who are set to square off during the tournament in A Block action. Tomoaki Honma & Masatora Yasuda vs Knockout Bros. (OSKAR & Yuto-Ice) Tomoaki Honma has kept up a rigorous schedule over the course of the week in attempting to test the IWGP Tag Team Champions the Knockout Bros. Tonight it's Masatora yasuda that's his partner as he takes on OSKAR and Yuto-Ice; can the Kokeshi and the Young Lion attain a massive upset? El Desperado, Taichi, Mistico & Yuya Uemura vs TMDK( Robbie Eagles, Kosei Fujita, Ryohei Oiwa & Hartley Jackson) Eight man action sees Hontai take on TMDK on the evening. On May 4, Owens will challenge for the Alpha's TV Championship, and will likely go to any lengths to ensure he has the upper hand after this preview encounter. Unbound Co. (Shingo Takagi, Drilla Moloney, Taiji Ishimori, Robbie X & Daiki Nagai) vs United Empire (Callum Newman, Jake Lee, Jakob Austin Young, Francesco Akira & Zane Jay) Ten man tag team action will see Unbound Co. facing the United Empire, and the last preview ahead of Monday's main event IWGP Heavyweight title clash. As Shingo Takagi and Callum Newman get ready for their showdown, the presence of Drilla Moloney in the Unbound Co. team will be a big boost to Takagi, and may become a crucial insurance policy for the Dragon come tomorrow night; who leaves night one with the upper hand? Aaron Wolf vs Don Fale Singles Record: 1-0 Fale Ever since not only the sheer mass and power of Don Fale, but the numbers of the entire HOUSE OF TORTURE put paid to Aaron Wolf in the New Japan Cup, the Olympic gold medalist has been yearning for revenge. At every opportunity, Wolf has attempted to throw the gargantuan Fale, who finally granted a singles match to Wolf following an Angle Slam delivered during Sakura Genesis in Ryogoku. In preparation for this bout, Wolf held a day long, 10 million Yen prize fight challenge open to anyone that could pin him for three seconds, or throw him off his feet. As he went back to his judo roots to succeed in the challenge, Wolf gained most confidence when throwing former sumo turned MMA fighter Baruto, one of few athletes on the face of the planet that might somewhat compare to his competition tonight. A key difference during that tough man contest though was the absence of tables that Fale has splashed Wolf thorugh on multiple occasions, and the absence of HOUSE OF TORTURE. Can Wolf overcome those X factors this evening? NEVER Openweight Championship- Ren Narita (c) vs Boltin Oleg Singles Record: 2-0 Boltin After victory during the New Japan Cup, victory in multiman tag competition, and victory in defending the NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag titles, Boltin Oleg has jumped through more than his fair share of hoops, but now the Big man From Kazakhstan has a shot at the NEVER Openweight Champion Ren Narita at Dontaku. Yet to see a singles win over Boltin across G1 and New Japan Cup competition, and well aware that Boltin's own reign with the NEVER gold last summer only came to an end thanks to a combined concerted effort from HOUSE OF TORTURE as a whole, Narita was detremined to put this title match off for as long as possible, but now it seems he has run out of places to run. With defeat to Jon Moxley in 2024, and a bloody loss inside a steel cage last year, H.O.T's Souled Out leader does not have fond memories of Dontaku, and will certainly be putting the entire House at his employ to make this his first. Can Boltin overcome the odds and capture the gold for a second time? IWGP Global Championship- Yota Tsuji (c) vs Andrade El Idolo Singles Record: 1-0 Tsuji It has not been smooth sailing for Yota Tsuji in the last several weeks. The immediate aftermath of his IWGP Heavyweight title loss to Callum Newman at Sakura Genesis saw him attacked by career rival, and AEW defector Gabe Kidd, leaving Tsuji to abandon any hope of an immediate rematch and instead see his IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship at risk. As Tsuji began to prepare for Kidd however, fate had other plans. A shoulder injury sustained at AEW's Dynasty event saw Kidd pull out of title contention, and the contender's spot sitting vacant. At Korakuen Hall on April 19, Andrade El Idolo stepped up, and as fates swirl around Tsuji and the Global gold, Andrade could weather the storm and emerge as the champion. After Tsuji decalred that his duty with the Global title belt post Wrestle Kingdom was to defend only overseas, or against competition from outside New Japan, Andrade saw himself as fitting both bills. Himself defeating Kidd to earn title contention, Andrade challenged Tsuji at New Beginning USA in Trenton New Jersey this February. A gripping back and forth battle ensued, but it was one that ended with Tsuji victorious, forcing the same Boston Crab submission that Kidd, and then Konosuke Takeshita had sampled in major title bouts. In Andrade's mind however, there are no losses, but rather learning opportunities. El Idolo said in his video challenge that his February defeat was simply a matter of 'studying how to beat you,' and now Andrade feels he is on the doorstep of a title he deems 'destino'. A former holder of the priginal white and gold belt in NJPW in the form of the IWGP Intercontinental Championship, El Idolo sees holding Global gold as connecting himself from the past to the present in NJPW, as well as a chance to bring more gold and glory to a United Empire that could well dominate the Dontaku weekend. ____________________ x ____________________ Night 2 As the annual Golden Week celebrations in Japan draw to a close, the second night of Dontaku will have a bevy of championship matches set and heated grudges settled in Fukuoka! Kickoff Match: Masatora Yasuda vs Taisei Nakahara Singles Record: 2-0 Yasuda We get started early in the afternoon with Taisei Nakahara continuing his education at the hands of Masatora Yasuda. Benefitting from experience against a wide range of seniors through the tour, will Nakahara be able to survive longer in the lutches of the senior Noge Dojo member today, in front of his home Fukuoka crowd? NJPW World TV Championship- Konosuke Takeshita (c) vs Chase Owens We start our main card with title action out of the gate as Chase Owens takes on Konosuke Takeshita. After the Alpha retained the title in a 15 minute time limit draw back at Sakura Genesis, Owens took advantage of a distraction from a mystery masked individual and jumped the champion from behind. From Owens' perspective, the challenge was a natural consequence of the Alpha retaining the title; during New Japan Cup, Owns ceded a title match with Takeshita to partner Yujiro Takahashi and now the Lonestar Outlaw believes it's his turn. Though Owens is the bookmaker's underdog tonight, he has been a trap game for many a wrestler over the years. Honing his C Trigger knee on the Road to Dontaku, Owens feels like he can outstrike Takeshita's Powerdrive knee. Can that or any number of the offensive strings to his bow be enough to upset the TV Champ? Ryusuke Taguchi & Tatsuya Matsumoto vs Unbound Co. (Gedo & Daiki Nagai) Hontai face Unbound Co. in a collision of Young Lion and veteran tag teams. Ryusuke Taguchi is gunning for his 22nd Best of the Super Jr. entry May 14, and the 2012 winner faces 2005 runner up Gedo tonight, while the junior heavy Young Lion Daiki Nagai squares off with a budding heavyweight Adonis in Tatsuya Matsumoto. Shota Umino & Tomoaki Honma vs Knockout Bros. (OSKAR & Yuto-Ice) Direct Tag Record: 1-0 K.O.B. Tomoaki Honma's quest to take on the Knockout Bros. continues to Fukuoka, where the veteran Kokeshi reunites with his World Tag League 2024 partner Shota Umino. This tag team match, which sees a first for the two masked men to team as a duo, had already been set as a special attraction for tonight, and so remains a non title bout. With Eagles and Fujita in fresh possession of gold however, two iconic junior heavyweights representing NJPW and CMLL have a chance to become instant contenders. Yuya Uemura & Taichi vs TMDK (Ryohei Oiwa & Harltey Jackson) Recent events on the Road to Dontaku have seen Yuya Uemura battling with rival Ryohei Oiwa in six and eight man tag team action. Tonight, that gets pared down to a two on two between two hungry heavyweights who want to make their presence felt before Dominion in Osaka Jo Hall and the G1 Climax that lies beyond. Meanwhile both Taichi and Hartley Jackson are keen to show the heavyweight veterans are not to be looked over with G1 season approaching in the coming months, and will be showing out in this tag team affair. IWGP Heavyweight Championship- Callum Newman (c) vs Shingo Takagi Singles Record: 1-0 Newman One month removed from a shocking victory that saw him become the youngest ever IWGP Heavyweight Champion in history, Callum Newman's first defence comes against Shingo Takagi on May 4. Newman's rapid rise in the professional wrestling ranks came with no small influence from Shingo Takagi himself. Adopting Takagi's Made In Japan as Made in Essex for the finishes to his matches in the UK, Newman held Shingo's speed power and fighting spirit as the model to emulate. As a result, when a singles match between the two came to pass, and Newman was able to secure victory over his idol, the Briton should have experienced an all time career highlight. Yet dissenting and critical voices would instead embitter the young man, and after many ups and downs since, it's a very different Callum Newman who faces Takagi on May 4. Taking great delight in the fans' hate, Newman has adopted an any means necessary tact when it comes to his big matches, as evidenced by the low blow to Yota Tsuji that led directly to his title win. Newman has not shied away from saying he's willing to plumb any depths to retain his title tonight, but Shingo has fired back that Newman should 'be careful what he wishes for'. Although this match is listed under regular championship rules, Shingo has alluded to playing into a street fighting mindset. Indeed, five years ago to the day, Shingo used a similar anything goes mindset in a match filled with death defying moments and uses of tables when he was the first challenger for Newman's mentor, Will Ospreay in his IWGP title reign. Ospreay would admit later that he was pushed so hard in that matchup, he would injure himself and be forced to vacate the gold. Can Newman withstand similar punishment in our main event?

O Jeff Cobb é awesome, mas se há gajo menos WWE no wrestling que ele é difícil lembrar-me quem (baixo e "quadrado" na WWE moderna é um no-go, o Iron Sheik não saía do NXT se fosse agora), principalmente quando o personagem que lhe deram foi, aparentemente, Bloodline Member #14.C. Basta ver o que fizeram com ele na Lucha Underground para perceber que não tem que ser só o hoss que vinha sendo numa NJPW onde as gimmicks são menos importantes. Para além de que já vai bem entrado nos 40, nunca percebi bem porque o foram buscar. Bom para ele, ganhou umas massas, pode regressar à New Japan que todos o acolhem de bom grado, principalmente se vier a tempo do G1.

"CHAMPION CARNIVAL 1996 - PART 1" - ROUNDS 1, 2 & 3 FULL RESULTS: Os idos de Março significam que á a altura do ano em que se disputa o AJPW Champion Carnival e este ano não foi exceção. Serão dezoito dias de competição, nove em cada um dos Blocks, mais o grande evento final, para perceber quem sucede ao atual AJPW Triple Crown champion Mitsuharu Misawa enquanto vencedor deste prestigioso torneio ou se, caso contrário, Misawa consegue mais um capítulo dourado da sua carreira, vencendo o título pelo quarto ano consecutivo, algo nunca antes conseguido, ultrapassando também o lendário "Jumbo" Tsuruta no número de vitórias, isolando-se assim no segundo lugar nesta lista, atrás apenas de Giant Baba. Antes de analisarmos a prestação de Mitsuharu Misawa, contudo, vamos ver como se passaram os primeiros dias no Block A. A primeira ronda correu sem grandes surpresas, com todos os principais favoritos a vencerem os seus combates e a segunda ronda parecia ir no mesmo caminho, até aos dois combates finais da noite: Minoru Suzuki teve a sua primeira grande vitória em singles, derrotando Bret "Hitman" Hart e seguiu-se-lhes uma também algo inesperada vitória de Hiroshi Hase sobre Toshiaki Kawada, mostrando que o lugar de número dois nos Super Generation Army parece estar bem entregue, mesmo com a saída de Kenta Kobashi. Na terceira ronda o bom momento de Minoru Suzuki e Hiroshi Hase continuou, com os dois a avançarem para os quatro pontos com vitórias sobre Jun Akiyama e Steven Regal, respetivamente, antes de Big Van Vader fazer o pleno de vitórias, contra Yoshiaki Yatsu, isolando-se assim, à condição, na liderança com seis pontos. Genichiro Tenryu podia seguir-lhe as pisadas, mas tal não aconteceu, com Bret "Hitman" Hart a voltar aos triunfos, juntando-se também ele ao pelotão de wrestlers com quatro pontos em três rondas. CHAMPION CARNIVAL - BLOCK A - ROUND 3 vs. STAN "THE LARIAT" HANSEN [4] vs. TOSHIAKI KAWADA [2] E restava apenas o main event da noite, com Stan "the Lariat" Hansen, parar percebermos se Big Van Vader conseguia mesmo terminar este primeiro terço do AJPW Champion Carnival 1996 isolado na liderança do Block A. Pela frente Hansen tinha Toshiaki Kawada, também ele um ex-AJPW Triple Crown champion, que, com "apenas" dois pontos, sabia que tudo o que não fosse pontuar aqui frente ao líder dos Southern Brawlers, colocaria em sério risco as hipóteses de conseguir vencer o grupo, numa competição tão curta e com tão pouca margem para erro. Este combate era, contudo, para Toshiaki Kawada, não só vital para as contas do torneio, mas também uma hipótese de finalmente "matar o borrego", contra um adversário contra o qual havia perdido nas outras três ocasiões que se defrontaram em singulares, nenhuma delas mais dolorosa do que a derrota que levou ao final do seu primeiro, e até agora único, reinado como AJPW Triple Crown champion. Talvez tenha sido este quase desespero de Kawada a fazer a balança pender para o seu lado, talvez tenha sido simplesmente melhor do que Stan "the Lariat" Hansen, mas a verdade é que o líder dos Holy Demon Army conseguiu mesmo a vitória, num combate que, ainda que emotivo, acabou por não ter a qualidade que estes dois já por inúmeras ocasiões mostraram. Toshiaki Kawada sai vencedor deste combate, mas é Big Van Vader o maior vencedor desta primeira fase da competição, liderando de forma isolada o Block A, ao fim de três dias de competição. TOSHIAKI KAWADA DEF. STAN "THE LARIAT" HANSEN [88] - 27:37 No Block B, o grande destaque das três primeiras rondas tem que ir para dois nomes que têm estado a grande nível. O primeiro é Kenta Kobashi, que conta como vitórias todos os três combates que disputou, mostrando claramente que está super-focado no seu objetivo de ter mais uma hipótese de competir pela AJPW Triple Crown do seu arqui-inimigo Mitsuharu Misawa. Kobashi, lembre-se venceu o AJPW Royal Road Tournament 1995, e tenta assim vencer mais um torneio na AJPW, tentando tornar-se o primeiro nome a vencer ambos. O outro nome em grande destaque é Owen Hart, não tanto pelas duas vitórias que teve nas primeiras duas jornadas, mas mais pelos nomes que ultrapassou: Akira Taue, dos Holy Demon Army e "Dr. Death" Steve Williams, dos MastoDeath, atuais AJPW World Tag Team champions; dois nomes com quem os The Harts têm uma grande rivalidade na divisão de tag team. CHAMPION CARNIVAL - BLOCK B - ROUND 3 vs. MITSUHARU MISAWA [4] vs. OWEN HART [4] O derradeiro teste para Owen Hart estaria, contudo, à sua espera na terceira jornada, nada mais nada menos que o AJPW Triple Crown champion e três vezes consecutivas vencedor do AJPW Champion Carnival, Mitsuharu Misawa. Ambos estes competidores sabiam que uma vitória dar-lhes-ia não só uma potencialmente importante vantagem no confronto direto perante o outro mas, mais que isso, colocaria um deles em igualdade pontual com o atual líder do Block B, Kenta Kobashi O combate entre ambos foi, como seria de esperar, de grande qualidade, mas a maior experiência de Mitsuharu Misawa como competidor a solo acabou por fazer toda a diferença. Owen Hart usou a sua habitual e normalmente bem sucedida estratégia de tentar atacar as pernas de Misawa para eventualmente aplicar o Sharpshooter mas, sem um colega de tag team com o mesmo propósito a dar-lhe tempo para recuperar, este ataque revelou-se menos efetivo que o esperado, dando a Misawa a hipótese perfeita para contra-atacar e, eventualmente, com o seu devastador Tiger Driver 91, conseguir a vitória que o cola ao seu rival Kenta Kobashi na liderança do grupo.
