Mais um grande jogo de basket, em noite de mudança de hora, que significará que os jogos a estas horas não voltarão tão cedo, um bom espectáculo aguarda-se.

Os Suns vem de uma boa vitória contra os 76ers, os Nets vem de uma derrota contra concorrentes directos e Lawrence Frank quererá de certeza que os seus jogadores consigam uma posição nos PO, sob pena de poder deixar a equipa.

Nash, Stoudemire e Shaq vem de uma noite descansada, onde não tiveram de fazer os minutos habituais, pelo que devem estar em boas condições esta noite.

Dos Nets espera-se um forte Devin Harris, em claro crescendo de forma e já um dos jogadores mais importantes de New Jersey, para além dele Carter e Jefferson terão a importante tarefa de liderar e motivar as tropas, sendo Carter o perigo de sempre e estando bastante mudado desde a saída de Jason Kidd e o constante Jefferson de sempre.

Pós-Jogo:

Bom jogo na noite de ontem. Os Suns venceram uns Nets à procura de garantirem um lugar nos playoffs.

O primeiro período foi prometedor por parte dos Nets, a acabarem com uma uma vantagem de 10 pontos. No entanto os Suns entraram para o segundo período com uma atitude diferente liderada por Amare Stoudemire, e chegaram ao intervalo com um ponto de vantagem.

Na segunda parte a atitude dominadora dos Suns manteve-se, a acabar o terceiro período com uma vantagem de 11 pontos sobre os Nets. No derradeiro período da partida os Nets recuperaram alguma da desvantagem, não conseguindo no entanto dar a volta ao resultado.

A partida foi dominada por duas estrelas de gerações diferentes, do lado dos Nets Carter está a voltar aos velhos tempos e fez temer uma possível reviravolta. Dos Suns o já inconfundível Stoudemire teve mais uma exibição de mestre, sendo o principal impulsionador da vitória.

Pós-Jogo:

O meu desconhecimento sobre este jogo é grande, apenas tenho conhecimento dos números e acredito que deve ter sido um grande espectáculo.

A primeira parte foi desastrosa para os nativos de Phoenix, no entanto uma segunda parte com números excelentes, e uma excelente exibição (presumo) deu a volta ao marcador que estava na posse dos Nuggets ao intervalo.

Os principais impulsionadores terão sido Steve Nash com 36 pontos e 8 assistências e Amare Stoudemire com 41 pontos e 14 ressaltos. Destaque também para dois duplos duplos, de Raja Bell (15 pontos e 10 ressaltos) e de Shaquille O'Neal (20 pontos e 12 ressaltos). Dos 14 ressaltos de Stoudemire 8 foram ofensivos.

A "repetição" do jogo da última noite ocorrerá hoje, ainda que a equipa da casa seja Denver desta vez, o que poderá ser decisivo tendo em conta o fortíssimo desempenho destes em casa.

Os Nuggets irão tentar vingar a derrota da última noite, e voltar aos lugares de playoff, os Suns irão tentar refazer a vitória da última noite.

Para conseguir evitar a derrota os Nuggets terão de melhorar a sua defesa, e ganhar os ressaltos que não conseguíram na última noite, os Suns terão de manter a forte ofensiva e ter uma boa prestação na defesa também. A grande forma de Stoudemire poderá ser decisiva para o resultado desta partida.

Irá decorrer esta madrugada o desafio entre os Minnesota Timberwolves e os Phoenix Suns.

Apesar da má classificação da equipa visitante não se deverá esperar uma tarefa fácil para os Suns, com uma imprevisível equipa do outro lado, nela actuam bons valores em ascensão como Al Jefferson ou Ryan Gomes.

Do lado dos Suns os suspeitos são os do costume. Amare Stoudemire e Steve Nash serão as maiores esperanças para a equipa da casa, com os ajudantes Shaquille O'Neal e Leandro Barbosa a dividirem responsabilidades.

Assim se espera um bom jogo de basket, o resultado será previsível para alguns e incerto para outros, veremos no final quem acertou o prognóstico.

Jogo grande na noite de hoje entre os Mavs e os Suns.

O último encontro entre ambos foi ainda antes das famosas trocas Kidd e Shaq. Portanto o jogo de hoje será bastante diferente dos anteriores.

Ambas as equipas têm fortes objectivos em mente, os Suns pretendem ultrapassar os Lakers no Pacifico e assegurar o lugar nos playoffs, os Mavs tentam fugir à luta na qual estão envolvidos com os Nuggets e os Warriors.

Antevê-se um grande duelo entre os bases e os extremos postes de ambas as equipas, dos melhores da liga nas suas posições.

Q&A With Donte Green

Should the Suns elect to draft Donte Greene later this month, it wouldn’t be the first time the forward has donned orange on the hardwood. The star out of Syracuse spent one season playing with the Orangemen, and this week had the opportunity to show the Suns why he is being considered a possible lottery selection by many teams.

 

In his freshman season with Syracuse, Greene averaged 17.7 points and 7.2 rebounds per contest, including a 25-point, eight-rebound performance against East Tennessee State that saw the swingman shoot 5-for-10 behind the three-point line.

 

Just prior to his workout with the Suns at the US Airways Center Wednesday, Greene met with members of the local media, and discussed his expectations for what should be a wild month leading up to the draft.

 

Question: It’s obviously early in the draft process both for NBA teams as well as yourself. Is today your first workout overall?

 

Donte Greene: Today is the first workout of what’s going to be a long, crazy month, yes. I have about 11 scheduled with various teams and am definitely looking at this experience as a blessing.

 

Question: What do you think about having Phoenix as your first stop on the tour?

 

Greene: To have Phoenix as the first team watching me is a great opportunity. I’m just looking to show them what I have. I’m a little excited, a little nervous, but definitely happy.

 

Question: What’s your assessment of this current Suns team and in what areas do you believe you’ll most be able to contribute.

 

Greene: I think in the playoffs, not having Grant Hill, really hurt them. Having to move up Boris Diaw and Leandro Barbosa in the rotation really hurt them in terms of depth. I feel I would really help add to that depth by giving the team another shooter, and my athleticism really allows me to get out on the break which is something they’re always looking for.

 

Question: What would you enjoy most about being a Sun?

 

Greene: I think for starters having the chance to run up and down the floor with Steve Nash would just be a great opportunity for me. There are also players like Amaré Stoudemire and Shaquille O’Neal who I’d really be able to learn a lot from. It’s a team that offers a lot of opportunities.

 

Question: With the Suns selecting 15th overall, does working out for this team indicate this is where you and your agent expect you to fall in terms of draft order?

 

Greene: Well personally, you always feel like you’re top five, but this is definitely the range we’re looking at. I’ve heard anywhere from six to 15, but for me it’s really just about focusing on working hard. If Phoenix ends up being the ones calling, I’ll be more than happy.

 

Question: Taking part in these workouts over the upcoming weeks, what are you most looking to show these teams?

 

Greene: My defense. At Syracuse, we played a zone, but I’m really looking to show that my man-to-man defense is pretty good also. Playing a zone kind of hurt me this year personally, so I just want to show I can contribute on that end of the floor. Offensively I want to show that I’m not just a shooter, I can handle the ball and take it to the basket.

 

Question: You just wrapped up the Predraft Camp in Orlando. Were your goals there the same as they will be throughout these workouts?

 

Greene: Definitely. I’m just showing my athleticism while still showing off the jumpshot. I just want to show off anything that these guys may not have had the chance to see during the season.

 

Question: You’ve been talked about as one of the more solid outside shooters in the draft. How comfortable do you feel moving your range behind the NBA’s three-point line?

 

Greene: I shot a lot of NBA threes this year so I’m comfortable. I’m not at all looking at the change in distance as being something which will affect me.

 

Question: You haven’t had much time here, but what are your early impressions of the Valley?

 

Greene: I love the city from what I’ve seen already. I’m not one to shy away from the warm weather, so think this could be a great fit for me.
