Combate complicado para o primo do nosso comissário. A acção em si foi bastante razoável, mas esteve sempre na cara que Jay Lethal deveria ganhar esta contenda, e o Lethal Injection apenas o confirmou. (62)

 

 

Conforme o árbitro levantou a mão de Lethal, este foi atacado por detrás, pelo antigo campeão intercontinental, Nigel McGuinness. Nigel acertou alguns murros e depois atirou Lethal a voar para fora do ringue. (69)

The Beast teve direito a pep talk antes do combate, mas foi uma confusão. Não parece que isso tenha o afectado particularmente, pois ele e Sheamus deram luta um ao outro durante cerca de 15 minutos. Mesmo assim, a Irish Curse provou ser demasiado decisiva e Sheamus levou a vitória num óptimo combate. (80)

Claude vs Jose Colon

Combate com pouco interesse do público, e que foi demasiado longo para um combate com um final óbvio. O suíço venceu com a Ricola Bomb na marca dos 10 minutos. (64)

 

Claude: I haven't been the International Champion for that long, but I already get the biggest challenge I'll have as champion is to show that while it may be the youngest championship in the WWE, it isn't below any other championship... Not even the WWE Championship!

 

Claude: While there are big tournaments for the other championships, highly publicized number one contenders matches and such for the other titles, the International championship is most often forgotten. It will be my responsibility to not let them forget about it... I may not be champion for long, but I will get this championship noticed. That's why I'm issuing an open challenge for any former WWE Champion to fight me, one-on-one on Survivor Series. The Beast pode não ter consigo ganhar o seu combate com Sheamus, mas CM Punk mostrou como se faz. Não só venceu o combate, como mostrou o que será preciso fazer, quando a sua equipa defrontar a corte do Rei no War Games… Punk prendeu a Anaconda Vise aos 13 minutos, e obrigou Eddy a desistir. Mizanin: I just heard that Dean Ambrose challenged Mistico to a match for the WWE Television Championship. It seems like he forgot about one little detail… Mistico already has a number one contender for his championship. Luckily for Dean, I just came out of the GM’s office, and I’m getting my match against that little Mexican parasite, next week on Raw. Now those were the good news for Dean. The bad news are that this man right here will accompany me… Michael Elgin. And with Elgin as my enforcer, Mistico will be too afraid to even get close to the ropes. And at the end I will be the NEW WWE Television Champion of the WOOORLD.

John Dalton desceu ao ringue e cumprimentou efusivamente cada um dos seus parceiros, e rapidamente The Rock prosseguiu.

 

The Rock: And there’s just one left… And if you remember how The Rock started all of this, you know exactly what The Rock is cooking. The fifth man is… the the jabroni beating, pie eating, highflying, electrifying, elbow droppin, spine poppin, eyebrow raising, peoples champ, THE ROCK! (79)

 

O público foi gritando “Rocky” e coisas semelhantes, mas foi interrompido porque da rampa vinham William Regal, Edge, Orton, Homicide, Hernandez e Mordecai… Mas este último, ao contrário dos outros não avançou. Regal ainda gritou algumas vezes mas Mordecai não saiu dali e acabaram por descer os 5… Os 2 grupos ficaram frente a frente, sem que se ouvisse bem o que diziam uns aos outros.

 

O primeiro a mexer-se foi John Dalton que quase acertou um Superkick em Homicide… Regal fugiu de imediato, e um a um, todos os seus lutadores seguiram-lhe. A equipa de The Rock ficou sozinha no ringue sorridente, enquanto The Rock pegava no micro uma última vez…

Combate equilibrado e muiiiito longo. Começar com um opener de mais de 20 minutos não pareceu grande ideia, e a meio o público estava meio adormecido (não ajuda que um dos lutadores fosse Randy Orton). No final Jericho prendeu o Liontamer e a vitória parecia certa, mas Orton chegou às cordas. Jericho esperou até ao último instante e isso provocou uma discussão com o árbitro. Quando Jericho se virou comeu um RKO que o calou e o deixou no chão para os 3. (75)

Kofi Kingston e Jay Lethal demonstraram trabalhar bem em equipa, quando no No Mercy Kofi Kingston se tornou campeão intercontinental com a ajuda de Lethal. Nigel e Claude também não eram estranhos ao trabalho em equipa, e com os números equilibrados, a vitória sorriu mesmo ao inglês e ao franco-suiço, quando Claude acertou a Ricola Bomb em Jay Lethal. (64)

When that International Championship was first introduced in the WWE… I’ll be honest, I thought I was on a whole other level compared to it. What makes you think you deserve it more than a guy like John Dalton? Dean Ambrose? Mistico… Hell, even Jay Lethal who I just pinned in the center of this ring. You are what you do Montel, not what you say. And for the past few years you’ve done nothing.

 

MVP: You’re making everybody lose their time with that talk. What I’m here to know is whether or not you’ll give me a title shot. Yes or no, simple as that.

 

Claude: Everybody from the moment you walked in here… No, from the moment your music hit, that if you asked for a title shot you would get it. That was not the point. I will give you a title shot, but you need to understand is that you won’t get it because you are Montel Vontavious Porter, because you are a former World Champion or because you say you deserve it. You will get it because I’m willing to give you a title shot. But if I beat you, this Sunday at Survivor Series, I want you to go to the end of the line, because I won’t give you a second chance. Cole: Bobby, we just watched Claude accepting a challenge for the International Championship. You still haven’t asked for a rematch, which most people think is quite unusual. Meanwhile, you actively costed Colt Cabana his match against Sheamus, on Raw a couple of weeks back. Could you tell us on why you’ve been acting this way for the past few weeks?

 

Roode: I don’t like your tone. I’m not an idiot, I’m just moving my pieces carefully. Right now, even if Claude loses the International Championship, I can always go back to challenging whoever is the champ. Or can I just go straight for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.

 

Roode: Right now, I set my focus on Colt Cabana because Colt Cabana has no right walking in here like he is one of us. He is not a pro-wrestler, he is not cut for the WWE. Colt Cabana is a clown, he is not an entertainer. He is out of shape, dare I say Fat. And the fact that he is here gives the wrong message to those fat kids in the crowd, that they can be a pro-wrestler and that they can be in the WWE. But I just left the General Manager’s office, and Mr. Regal signed a match between me and Colt Cabana for Survivor Series. So in six days this joke is gone forever. (77)

Mistico © vs Mike Mizanin

Mistico defendia aqui o seu título de TV, contra The Miz, que se fez acompanhar do seu guarda-costas Michael Elgin. Elgin interferiu bastante no combate, puxando os pés de Mistico, abanando as cordas para desequilibrar o campeão e distraindo o árbitro. O árbitro ainda ameaçou expulsá-lo dali, mas não foi necessário porque o combate precipitou-se para o final. Mistico teve grandes dificuldades durante todo o combate, mas num momento de desespero conseguiu prender a Mistica bem no centro do ringue e obrigar Miz a desistir, perto da marca dos 9 minutos de combate. É a sétima defesa bem sucedida do Mexicano. (69)

 

Após o combate, Elgin atacou de imediato o campeão juntamente com Miz. Mistico estava completamente indefeso… Mizard of Oz! Miz pegou então no título e Elgin em Mistico… Miz preparou-se para lhe acertar com o cinto mas viu que da rampa vinha Dean Ambrose! Ambrose trazia uma cadeira e isso foi suficiente para obrigar Miz a fugir. Menos inteligente foi Michael Elgin que tentou atacar Ambrose e acabou a comer metal. Ambrose ajudou então Mistico a levantar-se e entregou-lhe o seu TV Championship. (53)

 

Passa um vídeo que mostra King Carlito, os seus irmãos Eduardo e Orlando e Sheamus. Os quatro estavam algures no que parecia ser uma zona de mato…

O som de Sheamus foi abafado por um elmo, que um dos escudeiros lhe colocou. A imagem é interrompida por um efeito de transição que provavelmente foi tirado do Powerpoint e temos um fade in para o grupo de 4 a treinar com as suas espadas e escudos de forma desajeitada. Orlando e Eduardo usavam duas armaduras azuladas, com traços de ferrugem nas juntas. Já o rei trazia uma armadura dourada de alto a baixo. Percebia-se bem quem era porque tinha o topo do capacete um pouco mais elevado e arredondado. Sheamus vestia uma armadura… toda branca.

 

Sheamus não parecia muito entusiasmado, e foi batendo metal com metal sem entusiasmo. Carlito desarmou-o e colocou-lhe a espada junto ao pescoço e num som abafado gritou:

Sheamus tirou repentinamente o capacete e atirou-o ao seu rei.

O combate foi sólido e controlado por Carlito. Yang ainda esboçou uma tentativa de reacção, mas quando tentou uma cotovelada da segunda corda, em resposta a um irish whip caiu em cheio no Royalstabber. 1…2…3. Pin académico. (74)

Este combate teve bastante tempo, e com a experiência que têm de lutar em lados opostos durante muitos anos, seria de esperar encontrar aqui alguma química e ter aqui um bom combate. Não foi bem isso. O combate foi demasiado lento e o público parecia estar mais focado no que estava ainda para vir neste show. Edge nunca controlou inteiramente o combate, mas teve mais ofensiva. Perto da marca dos 10 minutos, Jeff Hardy virou o combate com um Twist of Fate e esteve muito perto de ganhar. Dali para a frente, Hardy despejou o seu arsenal de manobras (os tree of woes, os whispers in the wind, essas coisas…) Swanton Bomb… Pois, Edge escapou… SPEAR! 1…2…3! Edge vence. (66)

E Sheamus continua a ter o combate da noite… Mais uma segunda-feira e mais um óptimo combate do ex-campeão mundial. O combate foi longo e em alguns momentos pareceu ser ameaçado por interferências. Primeiro os Colons (os príncipes) apareceram de debaixo do ringue, e prepararam-se para atacar CM Punk. Logo depois, Triple H, Bobby Lashley e The Beast apareceram… Em ambos os casos, os lutadores mandaram os parceiros estarem quietos no exterior. Os dois estavam focados em mostrar que eram melhor que o adversário e isso notou-se. No final, Sheamus foi para a Irish Curse, mas Punk consegui colocar os pés no chão e bloquear o arremesso. Go To Sleep! 1! 2! 3! CM Punk venceu a batalha. (82)

E é o caos… Homicide e Hernandez… Edge… Os Hardys… John Dalton… Chris Jericho… Toda a gente à batatada no meio do ringue. A confusão era tanta que não se percebia bem quem tinha vantagem aqui. No final, os números fizeram a diferença e foi a equipa de The Rock a deixar metade da equipa adversário no meio do ringue e a obrigar a outra metade a fugir. He carried this company and proved that he is the future of the WWE. He has been a great Champion.

 

Kennedy: Sorry, I meant interim Champion. You see, by the end of the night my bio will read “Six-Time WWE Champion”, while in reality I won it five times and never lost it. Cody Rhodes might be the future of the WWE, but everybody knows I’m the present, and that’s not me being an asshole to the kid. I’m an asshole to everyone, but that’s not the point…

O video de hype continuou como se nada tivesse passado, focando-se no final no combate pelo título Intercontinental já a seguir. Nigel McGuinness tem finalmente uma oportunidade 1 para 1 contra Kofi Kingston para recuperar o título que perdeu há cerca de um mês. (75)

 

 

Intercontinental Championship

O combate começou com com uma troca de murros seguida de uma tentativa de fuga de Kofi Kingston. Nigel McGuinness apanhou-o e meteu mãos à obra. Durante os minutos seguintes, Nigel focou-se nas pernas do campeão, não lhe dando grande descanso. Foi necessária uma distração de Lethal para que Kingston pudesse parar com o massacre, atacando a fruta do inglês. Kingston tentou aproveitar de imediato para atacar com o Trouble in Paradise, mas as suas pernas traíram-no e apenas conseguiu chocar contra Nigel caindo os dois para fora do ringue, e perigosamente perto de Jay Lethal.

 

Durante alguns minutos pouco aconteceu, pois Nigel parecia ter caído mal, enquanto o campeão ainda estava com dificuldades ao nível das pernas. O combate continuou lento, com ambos a parecerem mais focados em se defenderem do que a atacar. Voltaram para o ringue e foram trocando alguns golpes, até Nigel ser atirado às cordas e preso num sleeper. Nigel não demorou a soltar-se, empurrando as suas costas contra o canto do ringue… Kofi Kingston ficou encostado ao canto! Já se sabe o que aí vem! Nigel prepara a Tower of London… E Jay Lethal tira os pés do campeão de cima das cordas… Nigel acerta-lhe com um cotovelo, mas é atirado contra o árbitro.

 

Kofi tentou atacar, mas acabou no chão e preso na London Dungeon! O campeão desiste!!!

 

Mas o árbitro não viu!

 

O combate prossegue, com McGuinness a atacar o campeão no chão e a checkar periodicamente o árbitro. Foi numa dessas vezes que se aproximou demais do canto do ringue… Missile Dropkick de Jay Lethal! Trouble in Paradise! E convenientemente o árbitro já se mexe… 1…2…3! Kofi Kingston continua campeão intercontinental. (78)

 

Vamos para os bastidores onde Carlito está a mostrar aos seus irmão como manusear uma Claymore “do século XVI”, enquanto caminhavam para os balneários. Quando finalmente chegaram ao destino, o Rei bateu com a real porta, que realmente bateu literalmente no nariz de Sheamus… Coisas que acontecem. (78)

 

WWE Television Championship

O combate até teria sido bom, se o público estivesse interessado e tivesse tentado torcer por um dos dois lutadores. O combate foi dominado maioritariamente por Ambrose, com o campeão como de costume a levar mais porrada do que a conseguiu retribuir. No entanto quando montou a remontada ninguém pareceu surpreendido. No final, a surpresa foi mesmo que Ambrose contrariou uma tentativa de 619 apanhando Mysterio… perdão, Mistico, em plena rotação e acertando o Deansanity (um spinning side slam) para a vitória. (56)

 

 

E agora nos bastidores com Michael Cole… Bobby Roode:

Cole: So Bobby, tonight you face internet sensation Colt Cabana. How are you feeling before your match?

 

Roode: Well, you know what Michael? That was the second best description I have heard so far, for Colt Cabana. “Internet Sensation”, that’s exactly what he is… Like those Russian car crash videos or baby videos. People love stupid things, that’s the reason so many people like Colt Cabana. This guy has been all around the world and he has been a joke all around the world. I’m just keen on taking out the thrash.

Combate bastante sólido e longo, com Roode a dominar boa parte da contenda. O combate desenrolou-se em grande parte fora do ringue, com Roode a aproveitar cada elemento do exterior do ringue como uma vantagem. Roode colocou Cabana em cima da mesa dos comentadores japoneses, e preparou-se para arremessar o adversário com o Pay Off, mas Colt teve tempo de contrariar a manobra com um DDT! Na Mesa! Que obviamente não partiu…

Colt deu duas palmadas na mesa enquanto se ria, obviamente habituado a mesas japonesas. Colt arrastou Roode até ao ringue e entrou. Roode tentou levantar-se rápido e acertar-lhe um pontapé, mas Colt desviou-se… Colt 45! 1! 2! Nope!

 

Roode escapou-se no último momento. Colt puxou de uma máscara dos… calções… Uma máscara de Doink! Bonita homenagem com a máscara e as palhaças. O palhaço Colt decidiu ir então à segunda corda para uma Bionic Elbow… SPEAR!! 1… 2…! Nope!

 

Roode recuperou devagar e analisou o adversário… Pay Off! 1 2 3! Roode vence! (82)

They have Suicide and Roberto… Randy Orton… The greatest thing to come out of a cast… the man who absolutely reeks of Canadian horse shit and a freaking cleric. A cleric! Well, the Rock knows for a fact that that man is not only a cleric but that he is a eunuch. You guys know what a eunuch is, right? Well, let’s say that his master is the only one handling his own cane tonight. And the Rock knows the perfect place for James Mitchell to put his can. Antes mesmo de o combate começar já havia alguma confusão no ringue, com bate boca aceso entre o GM e o Comissioner. Começaram Jericho e Edge e foram directos um à cara do outro. Jericho levou a melhor no duelo e Edge viu-se obrigado a bater em retirada, fazendo tag para… Mordecai. Mordecai entrou lentamente no ringue… olhou para o seu mestre… os dois trocaram um sorriso e… as luzes apagaram-se. Quando a luz voltou, nenhum dos dois estava por perto. O árbitro ainda os procurou durante alguns segundos, mas acabou por começar a contagem. Rapidamente chegou aos 10 e tivemos assim a primeira eliminação (Eliminação #1: Mordecai).

 

Os quatro sobreviventes entreolharam-se furiosos por terem sido colocados nesta situação. Acabou por avançar Homicide, que no entanto começou em tags sucessivos com Hernandez, dominando assim Y2J. Os dois mexicanos provocaram repetidamente o adversário e o público, até que se descuidaram e deram tempo para Jericho chegar ao seu canto para o hot tag… Aí vem Matt Hardy. Hardy e Hernandez lutaram e lutaram, empurraram-se… até que Matt Hardy com uma clothesline atirou o adversário borda fora, indo no entanto atrás. E foi aí que até a barraca abanou. Todos ficaram cara a cara no exterior do ringue… isto distraiu o árbitro tempo suficiente para que Orton acertasse um RKO sorrateiro em Matt, Hernandez entrou aos trambolhões no ringue…1…2…3 (Eliminação #2: Matt Hardy).

 

The Rock entrou no ringue… e Hernandez fez o tag em Orton. Por momentos parecia Wrestlemania de novo! Durante uns bons minutos deu porrada de meia-noite. Os dois não saíram do ringue, não houve quase rest-holds… Obviamente que ao fim deste tempo os dois apresentavam sinais de cansaço, mas recusaram tanto quanto possível o tag. The Rock com um Spinebuster! 1...2… Nope… Vem aí o “Most Electrifying Move in Sports Entertainment!”! Nope, Regal puxou o pé de The Rock, e deu abertura para que Orton desse um tag para Edge. Rock também deixou Jericho entrar…

 

O combate prosseguiu de forma equilibrada durante algum tempo com os dois a continuarem com o que começaram logo no início do combate. Jericho ainda chegou a prender o Walls of Jericho mas sem sucesso, assim como Edge ainda acertou o Edgecution, com igual falta de eficácia. Por falar em eficácia, kudos para o Edge que viu Jericho preparar o Lionsault, bloqueou-o com os joelhos e respondeu com um Spear…1…2…Não! Edge deu um tag em Hernandez e Jericho conseguiu um hot tag.

 

Jeff Hardy foi para o ringue história repetiu-se. Tags sucessivos deram-lhes o controlo… Jeff deu tag a John Dalton que começou a limpar a casa. Hernandez estava em clara dificuldade… tag para Orton… mesmo a tempo de um Superkick! 1…2… Noooope!

 

Tag em Jeff… Swanton Bomb!! Nope! Orton desviou-se no ultimo Segundo… RKO! 1! 2! 3! (Eliminação #3 Jeff Hardy)

 

Orton continuou a atacar Jeff que estava no chão e já fora deste combate. Isto provocou Jericho que entrou esbaforido no ringue e ia levando com uma dose igual. Assim foi apenas um dropkick. Cover…1… Não. Orton fez tag para Edge que seguiu com o trabalho. Jericho conseguiu recuperar lentamente e aos poucos começou a criar esperanças de conseguir equilibrar as coisas para a sua equipa mas, tendo quase acertado um codebreaker… SPEAR! 1! 2! 3! (Eliminação #4 Chris Jericho). A coisa ficou mesmo preta para The Rock. Ficava apenas ele e John Dalton contra Orton, Edge, Homicide e Hernandez.

 

The Rock assumiu as dores da sua equipa e foi para o ringue. The Rock foi muito forte para o ringue e não deu grande hipótese de resposta a Edge que se viu obrigado a dar o tag a Hernandez, que não teve melhor sorte… Rock Bottom! Pin perto do seu canto! 1! 2! 3! (Eliminação #5 Hernandez)

 

Segue-se Orton que começa a trocar socos com The Rock e os dois acabam embrulhados fora do ringue. Orton atira o Comissário até à barricada. Regal aproxima-se e… cospe pra cima… atitude muito pouca digna de um cavalheiro e que lhe valeu a expulsão das proximidades do ringue. Orton não pareceu muito afectado e foi voltando ao ringue o suficiente apenas para interromper a contagem. The Rock foi atirado contra os degraus e contra o poste do ringue tendo começado a sangrar ligeiramente. Orton voltou a colocar The Rock no ringue… Cover…1…2… Não.

 

Orton deu mais uns socos que abriram um pouco mais a ferida e preparou-se para o RKO, mas John Dalton entrou no ringue em desafio e conseguiu distrair Randy… The Rock atira Orton às cordas… Samoan Drop! Mas Homicide deu um tag sem que The Rock desse por isso, e o áribtro recusou contar o pin. Homicide não perdeu tempo e foi para o Gringo Cutter… Rock Bottom!

 

The Rock não foi egoísta e deu o Tag para John Dalton que já estava preparado… Moonsault! 1! 2! 3! (Eliminação #6 Homicide). Dalton demorou a levanter-se e já tinha Edge à sua espera… Avoided! Superkick! 1…2… Orton a quebrar o pin!

 

John Dalton atirou Orton para fora do ringue e subiu ao canto superior… vem aí outro moonsault… Spear! 1! 2!

 

Dalton conseguiu colocar o pé na corda e salvar-se. Edge prepara mas um Spear… Superki… No…Yes! Superkick! 1! 2! 3! (Eliminação #7 Edge).

 

Orton não pediu licença e foi pra cima de Dalton que não teve hipótese de reacção. Orton foi inteligente e metodicamente foi cansando Dalton que foi perdendo energia. Orton acertou o inverted headlock backbreaker e começou a acossar a presa. Orton prepara o RKO… Mas Dalton contra ataca com um DDT! 1! 2! Não!

 

Dalton levanta-se devagar e com a ajuda das cordas e começa a aquecer as pernas… Supe… No, Orton segurou-lhe a perna e empurrou-a… SUPERKICK!
