Passamos à zona de entrevistas onde se encontra uma vez mais, Paul Heyman:

 

Heyman: Welcome back, I’m here with The Game, Triple H who is about to enter the ring to face CM Punk. I hope that my well known friendship with CM Punk doesn’t pose any objectivity issues for our talk.

 

Triple H: No, Paul. None at all. Speak your mind…

 

Heyman: Those are dangerous words, Hunter. Well, for starters let me ask you something simple. Do you feel you have a psychological advantage because of your previous encounters with CM Punk?

 

Triple H: No, I have an advantage because I am the Game and I am that damn good. Simple as that. While CM Punk is trying to prove to himself that he can beat me, I’m already thinking about my next challenge.

 

Heyman: And that is…

 

Triple H: To win the Royal Rumble and to become the WWE Champion come Wrestlemania.

 

Heyman: Don’t you think that maybe, Just Maybe, you aren’t giving the attention to this match that it deserves?

 

Triple H: No, I don’t think that. I’m not undervaluing what CM Punk can do in that ring. I know he can be a dangerous competitor. But that’s why I’m the game. I’m not just two steps ahead of everyone, I’m playing on a whole different board and you don’t even know what it looks like.

 

Heyman: Well, allow me to respectfully disagree. You are even allowing for the fact that CM Punk might beat you, here tonight, and I assure you that while it is not a given, a focused CM Punk can do anything. And I’ve known CM Punk for quite some time and I’ve never seen him as focused… as driven… as he is for this match tonight.

 

Triple H: I understand that. But CM Punk tried to make a point when he attacked me on Raw a few weeks back and costed me a chance of winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. I just think he made the wrong one. If he was trying to get me to fight him in a match he failed. I’m here not only to do that, but to punish him so badly that in the end he won’t even want to enter the Royal Rumble in fear of coming face to face with me. He wants to prove to himself he can hang? I will prove him wrong… And now if you excuse me, I will do just that… (82)

CM Punk vs Triple H

O combate início com os dois a estudarem-se mutuamente por alguns segundos, mas foi CM Punk o primeiro a avançar, precipitando-se e acabando por levar de imediato com um Facebreaker knee smash. Triple H foi para o cover mas Punk recuperou rapidamente a levantar-se e a pontapear os joelhos de Triple H atirando o Game ao chão. Punk parecia ansioso, mas ao mesmo tempo foi capaz de se ir acalmando e procurando uma estratégia. Essa estratégia passou sempre pelo foco nas pernas do adversário, acabando por dar frutos mais à frente. Com CM Punk a procurar o Go To Sleep, Triple H contrariou com o Spinebuster, mas os joelhos cederam a meio da rotação. Punk não perdeu tempo e acertou um Shining Wizard. Pin!

 

1…2..nope.

 

O combate prosseguiu com Punk a controlar durante alguns minutos, mas com Triple H a lentamente virar o combate. Esse novo domínio materializou-se quando Punk acertou um High Knee, mas Triple H foi capaz de o atirar para fora do ringue pela corda superior. Triple H foi rápido a sair do ringue e atirou Punk contra tudo o que conseguiu… Mesa dos comentadores, degraus, canto do ringue… Triple H estava lançado, mas Punk não se dava por vencido e num esforço de desespero prendeu o Anaconda Vise em Triple H quando este se preparava para lhe acertar uma clothesline. Triple H sofreu durante alguns segundos, mas conseguiu chegar às cordas. Via-se nas caras dos dois que Punk estava em apuros… Punk tentou atacar com o que pôde, mas Triple H não foi ao chão e acertou o Pedigree à primeira oportunidade!

 

Mas os joelhos de Triple H voltaram a quebrar e o Game não conseguia sequer arrastar-se para o pin. Com alguma ajuda das cordas Triple H lá se levantou, mas apenas se conseguiu atirar para o pin, encontrando os joelhos de CM Punk. Hora de Punk despejar dropkicks, o high knee e o running bulldog e… hora de ir dormir… GTS! Cover!

 

1…2…Não! Triple H escapa-se no último instante. Punk está preocupado mas não parece assustado e continua na ofensiva. Punk quase consegue prender novamente o Anaconda Vise mas Triple H não permitiu que a manobra ficasse completamente presa. Punk aproximou-se das cordas enquanto Triple H se levantava e caiu directo num Spinebuster! Cover!

 

1…2…Não! Triple H está a sofrer com as dores nos joelhos, mas volta a levantar-se segurando-se no canto do ringue enquanto espera que Punk se levante… Pedigree! Não! CM Punk conseguiu soltar-se no último instante e Triple H foi novamente com os joelhos ao chão… CM Punk aproveita a aberta…

 

Punk começa a subir ao canto do ringue e a puxar Triple H, os dois lutam no canto o ringue, em cima da segunda corda. Triple H perde o equilíbrio… CM Punk sobe à corda superior… PEPSI PLUNGE!

 

1…2…3! Punk vence após uma meia hora bem intensa. (73)

 

 

Heyman: Ladies and Gentlemen, I was now to introduce you to former WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Sheamus, but it so happens that he is not here right now, he…

 

Sheamus: GET OUT!

 

Sheamus: I DON’T WANT TO TALK TO YOU! I DON’T WANT TO TALK TO ANYONE! I JUST WANT TO SEND A MESSAGE… to you fella… you know who you are… you know what you’ve done, fella. You left me high and dry. Vemos um vídeo com o resumo da história mais longa da WWE actual. Tudo começou… há um tempo atrás. Na altura eram James Mitchell e Leviathan que tentavam acabar com “o deboche” de Ken Kennedy e se tentaram em várias tentativas, no Fully Loaded no verão passado, James Mitchell já com Mordecai conseguiram tirar o sorriso da cara de Ken Kennedy, provocando-lhe uma lesão que o obrigou a deixar o “seu” WWE Championship vago enquanto recuperava. Kennedy voltaria antes do previsto para ajudar Beast a derrotar Mordecai num Hell in a Cell. A guerra entre estes três homens só pode acabar de uma forma… quando um dos lados estiver sob sete palmos de terra… Para alguém este será mesmo o fim do mundo… do seu mundo.

Buried Alive Match

vs.

Ken Kennedy vs Mordecai

Kennedy foi o primeiro a entrar. Quando se começou a ouvir a música de Mordecai as luzes apagaram-se e… Kennedy desapareceu. No ecrã vimos Kennedy estendido no chão no meio de um terreno que gritava desolação. Kennedy levantou a cabeça para ver bem à sua frente uma lápide com o seu nome. Kennedy sorriu e levantou-se, mas quase acabou por chocar com a cabeça contra essa mesma lápide, pois Mordecai atacou-o por trás empurrando-o com toda a força. Kennedy chocou com as pernas contra a pedra fria e ficou claramente queixoso.

 

Os dois batalharam ao longo do terreno baldio durante longos minutos, com Mordecai a controlar maioritariamente, mas com Kennedy a nunca mostrar sinais de se render… o que era normal com tudo o que estava em jogo. Mesmo assim, Kennedy nunca conseguiu virar o combate o que se tornou particularmente complicado quando o combate os levou até perto de uma cova…

 

Os dois batalham para tentar atirar o outro para dentro do buraco, literalmente. Kennedy tentou com um Mic Check atirar Mordecai para dentro do buraco, mas Mordecai bloqueou a manobra deixando Kennedy desequilibrado, Mordecai capitalizou a situação e… Crucifix Powerbomb para dentro do buraco!

 

Voltamos à arena onde as luzes estão ainda apagadas, e o silêncio é sepulcral. Ninguém acredita no que acabou de acontecer… Ken Kennedy não só foi atirado para dentro de uma cova como Mordecai o atirou com enorme violência com uma crucifix powerbomb…

 

As luzes acendem-se e vemos Ken Kennedy estendido no meio do ringue, a tentar perceber onde está e por uma vez, com uma expressão realmente assustada na cara. No topo da rampa… Mordecai e James Mitchell:

 

Mitchell: The human mind is a funny thing, Mr. Kennedy. You never left the arena, everything we all saw was the product of your own mind. Because deep down inside, below all of your arrogance you know you stand no chance against two gods. We now give you one last chance.

 

Mordecai: Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful…

 

Mitchell: Exactly… So, RUN! Run and don’t ever come back to the WWE, and we will spare you from a horrible end. So how will it be?

 

Kennedy levantou-se com a ajuda das cordas e arrastou-se para fora do ringue. Kennedy subiu a rampa lentamente, sempre com a cabeça baixa e parou junto aos dois adversários. Mordecai… benzeu-o e Kennedy seguiu para lá da cortina. Mas obviamente voltou a correr e atacou Mordecai.

 

Os dois batalharam no topo da rampa durante quase 5 minutos, mas desta vez ninguém tinha grande vantagem. Mesmo assim, quando o combate se aproximou da cova estrategicamente colocada ao lado da rampa, Kennedy parecia evitar aproximar-se muito. Mordecai notou isso e foi tentando provocar o erro, mostrando paciência e usando o tempo a seu favor…

 

Quem se mostrou impaciente foi James Mitchell que decidiu acertar uma bengalada em Kennedy. Kennedy baixou-se no último instante, e o impacto atirou Mordecai para dentro do buraco. Mitchell em choque aproximou-se do buraco para tentar resgatar o seu servo, mas levou um chuto no traseiro que o atirou de cabeça para dentro do buraco. Kennedy olhou para o público, encolheu os ombros e pegou numa pá para atirar alguma areia para dentro da cova.

 

As luzes da arena começaram a ficar intermitentes e uma nuvem de chamas irrompeu de dentro do buraco, atirando Ken Kennedy para trás com o impacto. Ouviu-se uma profunda gargalhada, interrompida pelo som da terra que envolvia o buraco a desabar tapando quase por completo o local onde caíram, talvez de vez, Mordecai e James Mitchell (76)

Voltamos a Paul Heyman mais uma vez para ouvirmos mais um dos desafiadores ao WWE Championship, o quatro vezes campeão do mundo, Randy Orton:

 

Paul Heyman: And I’m back with another challenger for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, the Youngest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE History, Randy Orton… Randy, you’ve had a few chances in the past few months, but you haven’t been able to capitalize on it. Some feel time has passed you by…

 

Orton: What could that possibly mean? Time passed me by…

 

Heyman: Well, for one, like I mentioned, you were the youngest World Heavyweight Champion in WWE History, but you haven’t been WWE Champion in over four years. Some say you peaked too young. That you don’t have it in you anymore to become a five time world champion.

 

Orton: That is just plain stupid. My name is… Randy… Orton. Yes, I first won my first World Title a long time ago, and since then many have come and gone. Retired, went back to being irrelevant, gone to other places where they can be big fishes in tiny tiny ponds. I may not have won the big one in a little while, but I’ve been close to it more times than most guys in the back can even dream of. And one of these times I will become The Man once again, and then those guys will cry about how tough this game has become.

 

Heyman: I get your point but saying that you’ve been close, weeeell… it seems a little like, and pardon my French, a little like loser talk.

 

Orton: How Dare You Talk To ME Like That. Maybe Sheamus wasn’t so unjustified in doing what he did earlier.

 

Heyman: Sorry, maybe I did overstep some boundaries. I will refrain from going too far. But, going back to my earlier point… When you were WWE World Champion the last time, you had one Cody Rhodes following you as your protégé. Now HE is the Champion, again it seems like time as passed you by, don’t you agree.

 

Orton: It’s true that Cody Rhodes was once learning from me and is now the WWE Champion. I taught him well, but I didn’t teach him everything I know. He is in his honeymoon phase, but like all honeymoons it will eventually die down, and troubles will arise. And you can mark my words, as someone with loads more experience than young Cody… his honeymoon ends tonight inside that Elimination Chamber. I guarantee you there is no way Cody gets out of that Cell with the WWE Championship around his waist. Mark my words. (86)

 

 

International Championship

Hernandez entrou acompanhado de Homicide que entrou numa cadeira de rodas e com a perna engessada. Como foi anunciado, Homicide que era para participar no combate mas lesionou-se num Live Event a meio da semana e como tal terá que ficar do lado de fora.

 

O combate não foi muito longo, os dois foram all-in com Hernandez a usar as cordas, a puxar calções e a atacar as vistas do campeão, aproveitando todas as distrações do árbitro. Claude jogou mais com a força bruta. O super-homem suíço continuou a demonstrar a sua capacidade física fora do normal. Hernandez quase acertou o Frog Splash, mas Claude levantou-se repentinamente e acertou um European Uppercut para os 2!

 

Claude começou a preparar o Ricola Bomb, ao mesmo tempo que vemos Homicide a retirar o gesso da perna e a subir à borda do ringue… antes mesmo de entrar Claude atirou-se num Running Dropkick atirando Homicide com violência para fora do ringue. Quando se virou foi atacado com um Thrust Spinebuster! Hernandez sobe à corda superior…

 

Mas Hernandez pára porque ouve o seu parceiro no chão a queixar-se das pernas. Parece que desta vez a lesão pode ter sido a sério. Quando Hernandez saltou já Claude estava de pé e apanhou-o a meio caminho… Neutralizer! 1…2…3! Claude volta a vencer e continua campeão internacional! (69)

 

 

Vamos para os bastidores onde parece ver alguma comoção… Paul Heyman está frente a frente com Eduardo e Orlando Colon…

 

Orlando: Our King won’t let you talk with him unless you accept his conditions…

 

Heyman: I will do no such thing. I don’t have to do any of that, I have a job to do and I can’t be conditioned by the whims of a man who wears a crown in the 21st century.

 

Eduardo: I will read the King’s decree: “I, King Carlito the First of his Name, King of the Ring, of Cool and the Caribbean, soon to be the Undisputed King of the WWE determine that an audience will be granted to Paul Heyman, only if the following conditions are accepted: The King will only answer three questions, so choose wisely before wasting the King’s time; choose your words carefully before speaking or you’ll be reminded of what King Carlito does to people who don’t want to be cool”. Do you accept these, or do we need to send you away by force?

 

Heyman: This is not right. This is the United States, and the freedom of the press is protected by the First Amendment of the Constitution… I…

 

Orlando: This is his Kingdom, and the King’s word is the Law! Either take it or leave it.

 

Heyman: I repeat, this is illegal. But, since those conditions are at least reasonable, I will take the bait. Please, take me to your King.

 

King Carlito: I am here.

 

Heyman: Ok, let’s start with my first question. Since you came back to the WWE almost a year ago, you made yourself many enemies: Triple H, CM Punk and now Sheamus O’Shaunessy. Do you feel it might be a handicap when furthering your career?

 

King Carlito: I did nothing wrong to those men, they are just jealous of the grandiosity of a King. They wished they could carry this crown and look as cool as The King.

 

Heyman: Let’s agree to disagree on that. Well, second question. Sheamus has threatened to make everything in his power to punish you inside the Elimination Chamber. Without your brothers to protect you, are you afraid of what he will do to you?

 

King Carlito: Afraid? A king fears nothing!

 

Ouve-se um barulho ao fundo e Carlito vira a cabeça para lá assustado. Quando se apercebe que não foi nada de relevante, voltou a olhar para Heyman.

 

King Carlito: I told you to be careful with your questions. That’s not cool. Be careful with what you ask next, or I may have my princes take care of you after we’re done.

 

Heyman: You call yourself the King, but for the WWE Universe only the WWE Champion can be seen as a true King in the WWE. Do you feel that if you lose, your kingdom will forever be seen as a joke?

 

King Carlito: No.

 

Heyman: Care to elaborate?

 

King Carlito: No. Those are four questions. Orlando, can you please pass me my Royal Apple?

The Hardy Boyz vs. Silent Rage

Duas das melhores equipas da WWE defrontaram-se com o público firmemente dividido. Tratou-se de um combate relativamente longo. Os desafiadores limitaram bastante a ofensiva dos campeões utilizando a sua força física para anular muitas das manobras aéreas de Jeff Hardy e as manobras de elevado impacto de Matt.

 

A experiência como equipa dos dois irmãos acabou por se mostrar decisiva em vários momentos, permitindo-os salvar-se de situações difíceis, como um Spear de Beast em Jeff Hardy ou um Dominator de Bobby Lashley em Matt Hardy.

 

No final, Matt Hardy foi para o Twist of Fate mas Beast atirou-o para o canto do ringue. Matt voltou atordoado para o meio do ringue… NUMBER OF THE BEAST. Cover! Não, Jeff fez o tag! Twist of Fate! Jeff vai à corda superior… SPEAR! Matt Hardy colocou-se à frente de Lashley e protegeu o irmão mais novo! Swanton Bomb! 1…2…3! Os Hardys continuam os campeões do mundo, com Matt a sacrificar-se mais uma vez por Jeff e pelos títulos de equipas! (81)

 

 

Hora da última entrevista de Paul Heyman esta noite, desta feita com Mike Mizanin:

 

Heyman: Ladies and gentlemen, I have with me right now the star of the critically acclaimed, WWE produced movie, “12 Rounds II: 24 Rounds”, Mike “The Miz” Mizanin. Mike, this is probably the greatest opportunity of your career, and it comes at a time where you’ve acquired the services of Michael Elgin as your bodyguard. If you can’t win without Elgin’s help, shouldn’t it be him getting that world championship opportunity, instead of you?

 

Miz: What kind of question is that? He gets paid to do his job! I’m the star. I deserve to be fighting for the WWE Championship! I have been here for so long, and people still treat me as nothing but a joke. I’m no joke!

 

Heyman: I agree, you are no joke. You are a former tag team and television champion. But you have to agree that you never been close to becoming WWE Champion. Do you feel it could help you further your acting career?

 

Miz: Of course I do. Becoming the champion isn’t only a sign of what you achieved as a WWE Superstar… it makes you a global phenomenon. Today I conquer the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, tomorrow I win an Oscar. You know Hollywood…

 

Heyman: I do very well…

 

Heyman faz cara de gozo e Miz reage…

 

Miz: What are you laughing at? I’m the star of 12 Rounds II. Don’t you know I have been invited to co-star on the new Fast and Furious movie?

 

Heyman: I most certainly didn’t---

 

Miz: But I refused, and you know why? Because once I become the WWE Champion I will become too big of a star to be on those popcorn movies! Because I’M THE MIZ AND I’M… AWESOME! (70)

 

 

Elimination Chamber WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match

vs. vs. vs. vs. vs.

 

Cody Rhodes © vs Randy Orton vs John Dalton vs Mike “The Miz” Mizanin vs King Carlito vs Sheamus O’Shaunessy

Chegamos ao Main-Event desta noite. Começam o combate o campeão Cody Rhodes e Randy Orton. Mas mais relevante que isso foi o que aconteceu imediatamente antes do combate, quando Miz, o último a entrar para as pods, se fechou lá dentro com o seu guarda-costas, que ameaçou os árbitros para conseguir passar até ali.

 

Cody e Orton lutaram lentamente, o que era perfeitamente normal, sabendo que começavam um combate que exigiria ainda muito deles. Orton tentou derrotar Rhodes por cansaço e o público por aborrecimento (Vintage Orton). O mais relevante dos primeiros cinco minutos em que tivemos apenas estes dois no ringue, foi Orton a tentar acertar um RKO e a bater com os costados nas grelhas metálicas que ladeiam o ringue.

 

E o primeiro a juntar-se-lhes é… John Dalton. Orton propôs-lhe uma aliança para tentarem eliminar o campeão mundial, mas o britânico respondeu-lhe com um superkick! Mas Orton estava preparado e bloqueou-o… Mas não bloqueou o Bionic Elbow de Cody Rhodes! 1…2…Não!

 

Orton ficou no chão e Dalton e Rhodes concentraram-se um no outro. Os três minutos passaram a correr, com os dois a fazerem tudo para conseguirem uma eliminação rápida e assim reduzir o rol de preocupações para este combate, mas sem o conseguirem. Rhodes quase conseguiu prender o Figure-Four como resposta a um springboard moonsault falhado de John Dalton.

 

Findos os três minutos chegou o quarto elemento deste combate… Sheamus O’Shaunessy… Sheamus entrou no combate e foi directo à pod do rei, Carlito, para lhe indicar que irá atrás dele à primeira oportunidade.

 

Sheamus virou-se e…RKO! 1…2…Não! Moonsault! 1…2…3! John Dalton elimina Sheamus. Parece que o desejo de vingança custou o combate ao irlandês em tempo record e é assim o primeiro eliminado neste combate.

Carlito provocava Sheamus do interior da sua pod enquanto este se levantava para sair do ringue. Sheamus apercebeu-se e foi directo à pod de Carlito. Sheamus tentou abrir a porta à força, mas só conseguiu abrir uma pequeníssima fresta que não lhe permitia passar. Sheamus não pareceu muito aborrecido por isso e… deu um pontapé na porta que se escancarou e foi cair em cima de Carlito. Sheamus tirou-o dos escombros e atirou-o duas ou três vezes contra as paredes da cela e contra o chão metálico, antes dos árbitros o tentarem tirar dali… Brogue Kick num, Irish Curse noutro e o terceiro foi atirado para cima de Carlito.

 

Os comentadores fizeram questão de destacar que Carlito não podia ser eliminado até que chegue a sua vez de entrar. Enquanto isso, Cody Rhodes e John Dalton uniam forças contra Randy Orton que tinha tentado aproveitar-se do duelo entre os dois para proveito próprio.

 

O que faltava dos três minutos passaram a voar e chegou a hora de sabermos quem é o quinto a entrar no combate… trata-se de Mike Mizanin! Michael Elgin entrou no ringue, mas Miz fechou-se dentro da sua pod e deixou que Elgin fizesse o trabalho por si. Elgin foi ajudar Randy Orton contra Cody Rhodes e John Dalton. A frescura de Elgin deu muito trabalho a Rhodes e Dalton, servindo de distração ideal para a matreirice de Randy Orton… RKO! RKO no campeão…1…2…Não! Rhodes escapa-se! Dalton acertou um diving crossbody que apanhou Orton e Elgin. Dalton prosseguiu a ofensiva sobre Elgin com vários socos, mas Elgin bloqueou o que pôde e respondeu com um belly to belly suplex…

 

E terminaram os últimos três minutos… Está na hora do Rei entrar oficialmente no combate apesar de estar ainda estendido no chão. Com Orton e Elgin focados em Cody Rhodes e John Dalton, Mike Mizanin achou que estava livre para aproveitar e eliminar King Carlito… Miz saiu da sua “clausura” e correu para o cover a Carlito…1…2…Não!

 

Antes de se levantar, Miz nem viu chegar Orton como um Ferrari desvairado… Punt! 1…2…3! Elgin já não chegou a tempo de salvar o seu patrão que é assim o segundo eliminado no combate! Mas chegou a tempo de atacar Orton com alguns socos… RKO! Com a Chamber aberta para retirar Miz que mal se mexia, exceto para se agarrar à cara, Orton agarrou em Elgin pelos calções e ombros da camisola e atirou-o de lá para fora.

 

O combate prosseguiu durante alguns minutos com Dalton a ir atrás de Orton, mas nenhum dos dois conseguiu superiorizar-se. Orton livrou-se do adversário atirando-o por cima das cordas para fora do ringue. Orton não teve muito tempo para respirar e ficou no ringue a batalhar com Cody Rhodes. Os dois deram tudo, com Orton a acertar o Scoop Powerslam, e um DDT da segunda corda, e Rhodes a acertar-lhe com um Bionic Elbow e um Alabama Slam, mas em ambos os casos apenas conseguiram uma Near Fall. Os dois estavam exaustos quando Rhodes prendeu um figure four leglock, obrigando Randy Orton a desistir! Randy Orton é o terceiro eliminado!

 

Rhodes levantou-se e levou com um springboard dropkick de John Dalton que reentrava no ringue. Dalton não perdeu tempo e atacou o campeão com tudo o que tinha. Dalton quase acertou com o Superkick mas Rhodes escapou-se, contra-atacando com o Bionic Elbow. Dalton mostrou-se preparado e prendeu um Crossface! Rhodes sofreu, começando a ficar muito vermelho enquanto procurava o ar. Dalton não parecia dar sinais de afrouxar a manobra, mas Rhodes num último esforço de campeão conseguiu virar a manobra e prender o Figure Four!

 

John Dalton não desistiu, mas quando se livrou da manobra, ficou a coxear da perna direita. Os dois continuaram a procurar desgastar-se um ao outro até que Rhodes foi para o Silver Spoon DDT, mas acabou por levar com um Superkick! Dalton teve que se agarrar à perna mas conseguiu arrastar-se até às cordas, subir ao canto superior do ringue e… Moonsault! 1…2…3! Teremos novo campeão! Cody Rhodes é eliminado por John Dalton!

Eu às vezes fico nas dúvidas se as tuas opiniões são só para me elevar o ego. É que em grande parte encaixam naquilo que eu procuro passar quando escrevo os PPVs. :carinhoso:

 

A sério que não te lembravas do Carlito? Eu temi que fosse demasiado óbvio.

Mas nem te podes queixar em relação ao Dalton. Ele até eliminou o campeão e é o segundo PPV seguido em que aparece em grande plano.

 

A grande surpresa mesmo assim foi ninguém falar em ácidos por causa do Buried Alive. Quis fazer algo diferente para que a ameaça do Mordecai e do Mitchell parecesse mais real, já que enterrar a principal estrela da companhia era algo difícil de acreditar. É mesmo o fim de uma história com mais de um ano e o final daquelas duas personagens (pelo menos no futuro próximo).

 

O PPV acaba por ser importante não só porque temos novo campeão mundial mas porque se fecharam várias feuds e abriram alas para muita coisa para a Rumble e Wrestlemania.

Eu já comecei a escrever a próxima Raw, mas não tenho ideia qual vai ser o ritmo dos próximos shows. Talvez vá postando à medida que escreva, ou fique um mesito sem posts para ir juntando shows.

Is the WWE trying to effectively kill all competition?

 

Recent reports indicated that WWE has been studying the possibility of creating a second brand (killing Superstars in the process) which would be a Touring Brand. A Touring Brand not in the sense of having a separate house show schedule, but instead, focusing on performing outside the United States, as a way to expand the WWE brand and also to stunt the growth of NOAH and AJPW which have been killing it, and gaining fans in markets that would traditionally be WWE exclusive. This possibility seems to be growing into something much bigger. We will update you on this as details of this expansion keep coming.

 

But this is not all. As the expansion to other markets seems to be still an uncertainty, another rumour seems to be solidifying as more than a rumor. It seems like the WWE will be reintroducing the Women's division in the very near future, with some people speculating that the very first Women's Champion might be crowned at Wrestlemania 31. This is an effort to compete with TNA Knockout's division but, most importantly to attack SHIMMER which has been growing their fanbase as the only company in the world offering a truly competitive Women's division. This feeling was only exacerbated by the understanding that SHIMMER's upper management has been feeding falsehoods about the company's "unquestionable" work ethic.

O combate foi bastante sólido e mais equilibrado do que talvez muita gente esperaria, com a combinação de músculos e inteligência de Miz e Elgin a vir ao de cima e a permitir-lhes dominar os primeiros dois terços do combate. No entanto o último terço no entanto, a experiência e exuberância dos Hardys veio ao de cima e estes tomaram conta do combate, de tal modo que quando Jeff acertou um twist of fate e subiu à corda superior, o combate estava ganho…

 

Mas neste caso ganho por DQ porque quando Jeff chegou lá acima foi atirado com estrondo para fora do ringue. O seu irmão já estava estendido no chão, vítima de uma cadeirada de Edge. Jericho foi logo atrás de Jeff Hardy até ao exterior do ringue, atacando-o na cabeça e nas pernas, para depois o prender no Walls of Jericho. Jeff estava já desmaiado quando Y2J soltou a manobra, e Matt Hardy encontrava-se incapaz de se levantar. Edge e Jericho fizeram sinal de que queriam os títulos de tag team, e com certeza a mensagem chegou aos campeões. (74)

Do dia para a noite. Depois de um complete squash de cinco minutos, um longo e equilibrado combate com mais de dezassete. Punk mostrou uma nova confiança, e controlou grande parte da acção, mas Roode é muito experiente e muito inteligente no ringue, e chegou a deixar Punk em apuros com um Crossface quando Punk preparava o GTS. Austin tinha aqui uma chance pelo título depois de na noite anterior dois lutadores de famílias igualmente prestigiadas nesta industria terem tido a sua oportunidade contra o campeão. Austin deu luta a Kofi Kingston, mas mais una vez a presença de Jay Lethal foi crucial para que Kofi continuasse campeão, com Lethal a causar uma distracção que permitiu a Kofi acertar o Trouble in Paradise para a vitória. (66)

 

Após o combate, Lethal colocou Kofi Kingston nos seus ombros por alguns instantes para que este pudesse festejar levantando o título intercontinental bem alto! (70)

John Dalton vs Cody Rhodes

Chegamos ao main-event desta noite, que era uma excelente chance para ambos para mostrarem quem poderia ser mais capaz de derrotar o novo WWE Champion, Carlito. O combate foi equilibrado, e tal como na noite passada, Cody Rhodes passou mal e Dalton mostrou sem sombra de dúvidas que não foi pelo cansaço de Rhodes que eliminou o antigo campeão mundial.

 

Cody Rhodes até parecia ter tudo controlado numa fase inicial até ao momento em que foi para um Bionic Elbow e em resposta recebeu um superkick com o relógio a marcar pouco mais de oito minutos. Dalton assumiu as rédeas a partir dali, mesmo só tendo conseguido uma contagem de 2 com aquele superkick. No final, Rhodes evitou um moonsault com as pernas e preparou-se para o Silver Spoon DDT, mas…

 

Orlando, Eduardo e o WWE Champion Carlito apareceram da rampa e atacaram-no, o que apesar de tudo causou a vitória por DQ de Cody Rhodes. (83)

 

John Dalton levantou-se rapidamente e ainda acertou um superkick em Eduardo, mas foi apanhado com o Royalstabber. Carlito e Orlando Colon atacaram os dois contenders ao título mundial, juntando-se-lhes em pouco tempo Eduardo…

 

TIME TO PLAY THE GAME!

 

Os três colocaram-se em sentido quando viram no topo da rampa, preparado para a pancada, o King of Kings, Triple H com a sua fiel marreta. Mas Carlito fez sinal aos irmãos para não terem medo. Afinal, ele pode ter uma marreta mas continuam a ser 3 para 1… ou 2 se considerarmos a marreta…

 

LOOK IN MY EYES, WHAT DO YOU SEE…

 

E os números acabaram de ficar bem mais equilibrados pois é CM Punk quem aparece. Punk olhou para Hunter e rodou a cabeça afirmativamente… Game On!

 

Os dois avançaram para o ringue a toda a velocidade, onde os três os esperavam e começaram a pontapear quem entrava no ringue, mas Triple H conseguiu bloquear alguns dos pontapés com a pega da marreta e com isso… abriu espaço. Primeiro Orlando e depois Eduardo levaram pancadas secas com a marreta. GTS no WWE Champion! PEDIGREE! Orlando e Eduardo estão do lado de fora do ringue e não podem fazer nada a não ser tirar o campeão dali arrastado.

 

CM Punk ajudou John Dalton a levantar-se, enquanto Triple H fez o mesmo com Cody Rhodes. Austin Von Erich dominou os primeiros dois minutos mas depois viu-se Ambrose a perder a cabeça e a tomar as rédeas do combate com enorme violência. Ambrose derrotou Von Erich com o Midnight Special. (68)

 

Dean Ambrose: YOU SEE WHAT YOU MADE ME DO? You people are the ones who turned on me, not the other way around! I did everything… EVERYTHING! I played by the rules, I paid my dues and I fought to the nail to win and keep the WWE Television Championship, but I got screwed. But that was your mistake… You think I lost my mind? Claude vs Lance Cade

Um combate bastante interessante entre o campeão internacional e o ex-WWE Champion, mesmo que sem título em jogo. Era óbvio que uma vitória para Lance Cade o deixaria no caminho da luta pelo título internacional e de um potencial relançamento da carreira e por isso o cowboy deu tudo o que tinha, mas simplesmente não era o dia dele. A vitória sorriu a Claude que com a Ricola Bomb continua na senda vitoriosa. (80)

 

 

Passamos para o balneário onde John Dalton se junta a Cody Rhodes que se prepara para o Main-Event de logo mais:

 

Dalton: Cody, lad, we need to talk before our match. I need you to trust me and I need to trust you! I need to know you won’t stab me in the back because I got a shot at the WWE Championship before you did.

 

Rhodes: You have nothing to worry about kid. I’ve got your back and I trust you’ll have mine. The fact that you might win the WWE Championship next week doesn’t mean a thing. I’ll get my shot to get it back, in due time.

 

Dalton: But that would mean facing me and Carlito, instead of just him.

 

Rhodes: I know that very well. But I can live with that, because I know I will get my chance and when I do get it, it won’t matter who I face. So what if I have to face you? And Carlito? I grew up listening to Ric Flair saying one universal truth about this business: To be the man, you’ve got to Beat the Man. What if that man instead of singular becomes men, plural?

 

Dalton: It’s good to know we are cool. Let’s show everyone we are on the same page by beating Carlito and his goon in the main-event.

 

Rhodes: You’re damn right. Now if you excuse me, I need to be alone for a while to focus.

Dalton dá uma palmada nas costas de Rhodes e desaparece do plano. (75)

 

 

Parece que vamos voltar ao ringue, mas ao invés disso surge no plano outra figura, de quem não vemos a cara, mas percebemos logo quem é pelas tatuagens que tem pelo corpo…

 

Cody: What do you want from me? You came here for me to thank you for last week, isn’t that right?

 

CM Punk: Actually, and as usual, boy are you wrong… I just wanted to come out here and tell you face to face that nothing changed between us. I didn’t go out there last week to “save you”, I hit the ring with only one purpose… to get revenge on Carlito for trying to blame me on what happened to Triple H. But it speeks volumes that you thought I was there to save you and you still act like a jackass.

 

Cody: Are we done?

 

CM Punk: Just one more think. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but those people out there are starting to catch up to your act, and seeing the true Cody. And one of these days your act will be truly done. Good luck with that… (80)

Silent Rage vs Edge & Chris Jericho

Edge e Y2J juntavam forças pela primeira vez aqui, depois de na semana passada terem atacado os campeões de Tag Team, os Hardy Boys. Era uma oportunidade importante para estes, por dois motivos: para demonstrar que estão realmente unidos enquanto equipa e para mostrarem que são uma ameaça real aos títulos de tag team.

O combate foi equilibrado, pois apesar de ser a primeira vez que se juntavam, Edge e Jericho eram já especialistas em combates de equipas e por isso não se via grande dissonância na equipa. Lashley e Beast mostraram mais uma vez estar em grande forma e tomaram as rédeas do combate na ponta final do mesmo. O final veio quando Jericho atacou o árbitro pelas costas com uma cadeira e passou outra a Edge para um conchairto a Bobby Lashley, que foi interrompido pela música dos Hardys. Os dois ficaram a olhar para a rampa onde só apareceu Matt Hardy que se aproximou do ringue mas não entrou, apenas apontou para as costas dos dois… Jeff Hardy tentou atirá-los para fora do ringue, mas Edge baixou-se a tempo. Edge voltou-se novamente para Matt mas por pouco tempo porque de trás apareceu um Lashley furioso… Dominator! 1…2…3! Os Hardys custaram claramente o combate a Edge e Jericho. (66)

 

 

Enquanto Lashley ainda ajudava Beast a levantar-se para festejarem a vitória já o caos se tinha gerado na rampa, com Edge e Jericho e os Hardys a lutarem dali para fora. Jericho tinha voltado a pegar na cadeira e ia acertando cadeiradas em Jeff, enquanto Edge e Matt estavam num mano a mano equilibrado. A coisa só parou quando os Hardys tomaram conta da situação no topo da rampa e ameaçaram um twist of fate em cada um dos adversários, do topo da rampa e lá apareceu o exercito de road agents e árbitros para separar os 4. (75)

CM Punk vs Orlando Colon

Num combate em que Orlando não teve a companhia dos seus irmãos, que se estariam a preparar para o Main-Event de logo mais. Isso deixou CM Punk à vontade para controlar o combate à sua vontade e ganhar com facilidade com o GTS na marca dos 7 minutos. (77)

 

 

Temos Ken Kennedy nos bastidores, preparado para o seu combate de qualificação para a Royal Rumble, a ser abordado por Michael Cole:

Shiima Xion voltava a aparecer num combate importante e em bom plano, para o que seria de esperar de um rookie. Obviamente que o combate pendeu mais para Ken Kennedy, mas foi bem mais equilibrado do que se esperaria, com Xion a utilizar várias manobras aéreas. O problema veio quando falhou um 630 splash! Kennedy foi rápido a subir ao canto… Kenton Bomb! Pin académico e Ken Kennedy está certo no Rumble Match. (73)

Rock: Congratulations! The Rock wanted to come out here and personally congratulate you on qualifying to the Royal Rumble. The Rock never doubted you would qualify, but you see… The Rock wanted to make sure you understand that as long as The Rock is the General Manager, everyone on the roster will be seen on equal ground. There is no assumed number one, OH NO NO NO… If you think you are the number one you need to prove it. Even our world champion won’t get to rest on his laurels. But The Rock couldn’t avoid overhear you say that you are the number one star in Sports Entertainment. And with that in mind, The Rock as come to the conclusion that you deserve something more. I just heard our general manager talk about how he treats everyone the same, but we all know deep down that’s just not true. That’s not true, man. People like us are not treated the same as the rest. I’ve been the Intercontinental Champion since October. Yet, week in and week out, we get neglected. They want everyone to forget that the Intercontinental Championship exists until one of their people wins it back from me… I just won’t let it happen!

 

Jay Lethal: Yeah champ you can count on me to help you with that.

 

Kofi Kingston: So that nobody gets to forget about us and this championship right here, we’ve decided to come down here and issue an open challenge to anyone, not just the guys in the back to come out here for a match tonight!

 

Após um pequeno compasso de espera, Kofi continuou num tom mais irado:

Na arena começa-se a ouvir uma música… uma música que não ouvíamos há muito tempo. Uma boa parte do público demorou a responder à música, mas irromperam numa enorme ovação assim que surgiu um nome no ecrã… Paul London!

 

 

Paul London apareceu na rampa e veio a correr disparado até ao ringue. Conforme entrou no ringue, London olhou em desafio para o campeão intercontinental e pediu um microfone a alguém fora do ringue.

 

London: Well, it seems like I just left the Rock’s office at the right time from signing a multiyear contract with WWE! Hi, Kofi Kingston, right? I don’t know if I’m the “kind of people” you were expecting when you issued your whiny challenge, but it seems I was the first to get here.

 

Heyman: What is he even talking about, he came out here running like if he had stolen somebody’s wallet. Of course he was the first!

 

London: So, how is it gonna be, are you going to put the money where your mouth? Will you put the Intercontinental Championship on the line, right here, right now?

 

Kofi: Uhm… Who ever said I was putting the Intercontinental Championship on the line? I’ve never said I was challenging anybody for a match with me. I’m fighting no one tonight, I’m too good for this people. I said WE were issuing a challenge. So if you are so keen in fighting anyone…

 

Jay Lethal ataca London pelas costas e Kofi chama um árbitro para que se realize o não tão aguardado combate. (76)

Paul London vs Jay Lethal

Após o árbitro entrar no ringue e afastar os dois a campainha tocou e o combate lá arrancou.

Lethal teve vantagem inicial, claramente devido ao beatdown inicial, mas London foi capaz de remontar, acertando o London Calling para a vitória após mais de 10 minutos de combate, num excelente combate de regresso de London. (80)

 

 

Passamos aos bastidores onde ouvimos o WWE Champion desde já aos gritos.

 

Carlito: YOU LOST! You had one job for tonight Prince Orlando and you couldn’t even make it. One job! You just had to take out CM Punk for what he did to me last week.

John Dalton & Cody Rhodes vs King Carlito & Eduardo Colon

Chegamos finalmente ao ultimo main event da Raw em 2014. De um lado o ex-campeão mundial e o number one contender a esse mesmo título, do outro, o actual campeão e um dos seus irmãos. Este combate era particularmente interessante por Carlito ter que defender o seu título contra John Dalton daqui a apenas uma semana e pelo meio haver um Cody Rhodes que poderá ter o seu rematch um para um ou num triple threat.

 

Cody Rhodes e John Dalton cumpriram as respetivas partes do seu acordo e protegeram-se mutuamente. Eddie Colon também seguiu a deixa do seu rei, mas acabou por se provar, como era de esperar, o elo mais fraco deste combate, quando Dalton lhe acertou um Superkick e um Moonsault. O WWE Champion nada pôde fazer para ajudar o seu irmão depois de o seu outro irmão, Orlando, ter tentado interferir e ter chocado consigo metendo-o fora de jogo. Fechamos assim o ano do Monday Night Raw com Cody Rhodes e John Dalton a festejarem em conjunto. Será esta amizade de curto prazo se os dois se tiverem de defrontar já na Royal Rumble pelo WWE Championship? (77)
