He is considered to be the best handball player in the world. He was voted 6 times in a row most valuable player in major international competitions. Career Before playing handball Balić trained with the basketball club KK Split. He began his handball career with RK Split. Balić was a member of the Croatian national team that won the 2003 World Men's Handball Championship in Portugal. He won a gold medal at the 2004 Summer Olympics and silver at the 2005 World Championship in Tunisia. Balić was declared the IHF World Player of the Year in 2003 and 2006[1] as well as the best player in Croatia 2003. After playing for RK Metković he moved to Portland San Antonio. At the 2006 European Championship in Switzerland he was declared the tournament MVP. Even though Croatia won the 5th place on the 2007 World Men's Handball Championship in Germany, he was declared the tournament's MVP. In the 2008 European Men's Handball Championship he was the equal top scorer with 44 goals as he led Croatia to a silver medal and was also voted to be in the All-Star Team for the tournament. He was part of the French national handball team[1] that won the bronze medal at the 2008 European Men's Handball Championship. He was top scorer at the championship together with Ivano Balić and Lars Christiansen, and was voted as Most Valuable Player at the championship. Nascido a 29 de Maio de 1971, teve maior parte da sua carreira no FC Porto, passando também durante 5 anos no ABC de Braga. Começou a sua carreira como treinador em 2006. El Colosso Publicado 17 Março 2011 Henning Fritz Henning Fritz was born on September 21, 1974 in Magdeburg, Germany. He is a German Handball goalkeeper. He is also the first goalkeeper to be named World Player of the Year, in 2004. Fritz is a relatively short goalkeeper (only 1.88 m) who began playing major-league handball with SC Magdeburg. He moved to THW Kiel in 2001 and has been a member of the Men's German National Handball team since 2002. The German team took second place in the European championships in Sweden that year and another second place in the world championships 2003 in Portugal. In 2004 he participated in the teams success in Slovenia, where they took the European Championships. In 2004 in Athens he played with the team to another second place. The opening game of the 2007 Men's Handball World Cup was his 200th game on the national team. Daniel Ferreira Publicado 22 Março 2011 (editado) Linn-Kristin Ullevoldsæter Riegelhuth (born 1 August 1984, in Ski) is a Norwegian handballer playing for Larvik HK and the Norwegian national team. She is commonly known as Linka.[1] Outside handball she is a qualified nurse. Club career Riegelhuth started playing handball at her hometown club Ski. She later played for Homlia and Furuset until Larvik HK showed an interest for her.[2] She was only 17 when she signed with Larvik for the 2002/03 season. "Linka" was top scorer in the Norwegian league in the 2005/06 season (shared first place with Linn Jørum Sulland, both 159 goals). In 2006/07 she was again top scorer (221 goals), and was voted Player of the year in the Norwegian league.[3] She won the Cup Winners' Cup in 2008 with Larvik. She also participated on the Champions League 2008/09 and was top scorer of the competition until Larvik was eliminated.[1] On January 2009, Riegelhuth signed a two year contract with Danish club FCK Håndbold[4] where she will start playing at the end of the 2008/09 season. National team She made her debut on the Norwegian national team in 2003, and has played 128 matches and scored 485 goals (up to the European Championship final in 2008).[5] She is three time European champion from 2004, 2006 and 2008.
