Abrimos com o antigo campeão da WWE, Sheamus O’Shaunessy a descer ao ringue, certamente para falar sobre a sua presença no main-event desta noite, em que se juntará a Edge para medir forças com o campeão mundial, Ken Kennedy, e Triple H.

 

Sheamus: Tonight I have a chance at redemption. I’ve lost too much for a record breaking WWE Champion. I’ve beat Triple H… a lot, and if tonight’s match was one-on-one, I have no doubts that things would get right back on track. But you see fellas, tonight I’m on a tag team match. I didn’t come here to talk to you people, because I just don’t care about you fellas. I came here to talk to Edge, so Edge please get here so we can settle our differences…

Ken: Wait, wait, wait, wait… Hunter, please why you want to get the fun all by yourself? If there is one thing I take from what Sheam-us was saying, is that he doesn’t want to have anything to do with me. Why is that Sheam-us? I’ve been giving you all my love for the last six months! Sheamus: Always this same crap, fella. I’m tired of hearing you with these jokes. I have no problem fighting you, fella. In all honesty, I would love to kick those teeth out of your mouth…

Sheamus: … but my problem lays on the fact that I have to trust this fella, that I cannot trust. I would prefer to fight you fellas by myself, instead of having to deal with a partner backstabbing me in the middle of the match…

Sheamus: So, now we can get this over with…

 

Edge: What do you want me to say? That I’m sorry that I attacked you, in a match where it was every man for himself, with the WWE Championship on the line? No, I’m not… At some point in that match one of us would have to do it, so where’s the question here? If I will do the same to you in a tag-team match? Why would I? I’m not stupid! Are you stupid Sheamus?

 

Sheamus: What about you give me the respect I deserve to begin with, fella?

 

Kennedy: C’mon guys… Hug it out! Hug it out! Hug it out!

 

O público começou a seguir o cântico do campeão, e Sheamus e Edge entreolharam-se, começando imediatamente a seguir a atacar Kennedy e Triple H, que responderam prontamente. Sheamus e Edge foram mesmo obrigados a bater em retirada, enquanto Kennedy e Triple H se abraçavam e depois pousavam para o público em extremidades opostas do ringue. (A)

 

Combate #1 (King of the Ring – Second Round)

The Beast vs Elijah Burke

No primeiro combate da segunda ronda do King of the Ring, The Beast dominou o adversário, e nem mesmo algumas tentativas de virar o combate revestidas de ilegalidade por parte de Burke, foram suficientes para parar a força bruta da Besta. (B)

 

Entrevista de Michael Cole a CM Punk:

 

Cole: I’m here with Mr. Money in the Bank, CM Punk.

 

CM Punk: You forgot to mention the fact that I’m the current King of the Ring.

 

Cole: Indeed you are, but in just a few weeks we are crowning a new King of the Ring and…

 

CM Punk: Are you doing this on purpose? You are not crowning a new King of the Ring, I’m still in the Tournament and I assure you that I’m going to win it. There’s no single soul around here that can go toe to toe with me.

 

Cole: But tonight, you’ll face the Intercontinental Champion, Nigel McGuinness, for a spot in the quarter-finals of the tournament. Aren’t you afraid that you are getting overconfident?

 

Punk: No, I’m not. I’ve known Nigel for a long time… Long before we came to the WWE, and I know he is really good most of the times. He is the Intercontinental Champion for a reason, and that by itself proves what I’m saying. The thing is… I’m better than him, and it’s no shame to admit it. I’m the best athlete in this company… hell, in the World. I’m on my way to win the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and winning this crown a second time is just one more step I must take. Tonight, Nigel is just like those in the audience… a bug. And tonight, I must crush him. (B-)

Nigel McGuinness vs CM Punk

Um combate de topo, em que se notou o que CM Punk referiu minutos antes. Estes dois conhecem-se bem…Após um excelente combate com um pouco mais de 12 minutos, CM Punk conseguiu acertar um segundo GTS para a vitória, depois de Nigel ter conseguido evitar uma derrota no primeiro. (A)

 

Combate #3

vs.

Jeff Hardy vs Randy Orton

Mais um combate bom, que conseguiu fazer um bom trabalho em seguir o combate anterior. Muito equilibrado, Jeff Hardy conseguiu um Twist of Fate, mas apenas deu uma near-fall. Jeff Hardy subiu às cordas superiores para o Swanton Bomb, mas Orton desviou-se no ultimo secundo e assim que Jeff se levantou, sofreu um RKO, que deu a vitória a Orton. (B)

 

Após estes dois combates muito bons, Cody Rhodes está nos bastidores, certamente para falar sobre o seu combate que Mistico, que vai decorrer já a seguir.

 

Cody: With all due respect for Mistico, my oponente tonight, I will not talk about our match tonight. Instead, I will talk about the importance of King of the Ring… for me. I started the year almost winning the WWE Championship, and that match at the Royal Rumble has been on my mind ever since. I almost got the Money in the Bank briefcase, but once again, I couldn’t do it. King of the Ring is one of the most prestigious prizes in the history of this business, and winning it would save my year. I surely don’t want to “almost get it” again…

CM Punk: That’s good, Cody. Thankfully for you, if you do go through tonight, you’ll be facing me in the next round. So, don’t be sad Cody, nobody will tell that you almost won King of the Ring, because you will be out of the tournament long before its final. But, for old times’ sake… good luck for tonight. Combate #4 (King of the Ring – Second Round)

Mistico vs Cody Rhodes

Um combate muito agitado, em que Cody acabou por ser muito superior ao adversário, que mesmo assim, ainda o apanhou num 619, mas acabou por cair no erro de querer finalizar o combate com um diving crossbody que Rhodes contrariou num roll-up, que lhe deu a vitória e um bilhete para defrontar CM Punk na próxima ronda do KotR. (B-)

 

Um pequeno vídeo preparou o público para o main-event desta noite, apresentando vários confrontos entre os 4 lutadores. (B+)

 

Combate #5

& vs. &

Ken Kennedy & Triple H vs Edge & Sheamus O’Shaunessy

Novamente um combate bem sólido para fechar o show. Alguns poderão ter ficado desiludidos com o fim, quando Edge preparou o Spear em Kennedy, Triple H entrou no ringue para salvar o parceiro, mas Sheamus fez o mesmo e acertou um Spinning Side Slam em Hunter. Sheamus acertou também um Brogue Kick em Edge, deixando assim o parceiro estendido no chão para logo depois abandonar o ringue. Kennedy levantou-se e acertou logo o Kenton Bomb, assegurando assim a vitória da sua equipa. O show fechou assim com Triple H e Kennedy a festejar, com Edge sozinho no tapete. (B+)

Parece que Miz não estará em condições de lutar esta noite, contra Carlito, por um lugar nos quartos-de-final do KotR. (C+)

 

Matt Hardy é entrevistado nos bastidores John Cena, falando da importância do KotR, do seu combate de hoje com Chris Harris. Hardy finalizou falando da possibilidade de ter de defrontar o seu irmão nas meias-finais, e de que adoraria derrotar CM Punk na final do torneio, se tivesse essa oportunidade. (B+)

Edge in Tag Team action once again. Tag Team titles to be on the line at King of the Ring

 

After last week’s main-event ended with Edge getting attacked by his own tag team partner, Sheamus, this week Edge will tag with his former tag team partner of Rated RKO, Randy Orton, and they will face the current tag team champions, Homicide & Hernandez. While the title will not be on the line, it takes a big deal of importance for both Edge, who will face the WWE Champion in just six days, and can completely change his momentum so close to the big match. Homicide & Hernandez who will be defending their tag team titles against an undisclosed team may also need a win here, to get the confidence for whatever challenge they will face. Randy Orton has also been on a tear ever since he beat The Rock at Wrestlemania 30, and obviously doesn't want to stop now. Tune in to Raw to see who carries the momentum to this Sunday’s King of the Ring.

Lá vamos nós para mais um Monday Night Raw, a começar com o campeão da WWE a vir ao ringue.

 

Kennedy: Good evening, people of Boston! Hope you’re having a great time!! Wait…the show has just begun. Hope you have a great time!

 

Kennedy deixou o público reagir, para depois seguir.

 

Kennedy: In just six days, at the King of the Ring pay-per-view, I will be defending my WWE Championship. You all know already, that my opponent will be Edge… A former WWE Champion, former World Heavyweight Champion, former Mr. Money in the Bank, King of the Ring… It would put things on a whole new light, if I hadn’t win them all either.

 

Após mais uma pausa, Kennedy continuou…

 

Kennedy: To quote a famous philosopher of our times, I would be on the Edge… of Glory. But I digress. I’m here because I was told to try to get you to buy the PPV. So… PLEEEEEAAAASEE buy the PPV. I need to keep walking around in a Limo. And let’s be honest here for a minute. You all know that King of the Ring will be great. Guys that came all the way from hell battling it out in the ring? Ouvem-se os acordes iniciais da música de John Dalton na arena, e o Inglês não perde tempo, e começa a falar desde a rampa.

Dalton: Because you have this idiotic notion that you are somewhat a funny lad, when you are in fact a glorified clown.

Dalton: There you have it. Stupidity… Plain and Simple. You’re a fluke as a champion. You gloat about your previous WWE Championship wins, but while you won it four times you also lost it four times. You’re just overrated. And if you give me a match tonight, I will prove it to you.

Combate #1 ( King of the Ring – Elite 8 )

The Beast vs Bobby Roode

Roode tentou enervar Beast durante o combate, talvez à procura de um erro do adversário, mas isto só fez com que este se tornasse ainda mais violento durante o combate. Beast acertou o Number of the Beast perto da marca dos 11 minutos, mas quando se preparava para fazer o pin, verificou que perto do ringue estava RedruM, que se chegou às cordas antes de ser atirado novamente para fora por Beast. Quando se virou no entanto, Beast sofreu o Pay Off e perdeu a chance de entrar na Final Four do Torneio. (B-)

 

Após o combate Redrum parecia satisfeito com o que se tinha passado, pois com certeza sentia que o seu mestre estava orgulhoso, e lentamente foi-se afastando do ringue. No entanto, antes de chegar a meio da rampa, Beast veio disparado atrás de si e acertou-lhe um running forearm smash que deixou o demónio KO. (C-)

& vs. &

Dos Hombres Locos vs Rated RKO

O combate foi equilibrado, e os campeões tiveram a maior parte da ofensiva, mas Edge & Orton também pareciam não ter perdido o jeito para trabalharem em conjunto. No fim, quando Homicide atirou Orton para fora do ringue com uma clothesline acabou por se anular da decisão do combate, e Hernandez não foi capaz de fazer a sua parte, permitindo que Edge lhe acertasse com um Spear repentino. Edge conseguia assim a vitória sobre os Tag Team Champions, mostrando estar pronto para qualquer coisa no Domingo. (B)

 

Depois de uma pausa…

Miz surge na rampa com o Microfone na mão:

He had every right to demand a rematch, but he admitted that the best man won and it was time to focus on other marks. But you still come down here to cry.

 

Miz: Really? You talk of Claude like if he wasn’t just giving you the title. At least you didn’t beat him with a fingerpoke…

 

Nigel: I beat you, so I had no need to do that.

 

Miz: You…

 

Nigel: Oh just wait a minute… You remember when I started with this company, and challenged you for the WWE Television Championship? I won’t even talk about the fact that I defeated you for that belt one on one, anyone who doesn’t suffer of short term memory loss, remembers that. But back then, I called you a wank**. You are not a wanker, because in that case you would need to have something down there. You’re not a man, you’re a parasite that holds to the slightest details... And you suck, and you suck, and you get nothing.

 

Miz estava vermelho e nem perdeu tempo a atirar com o Microfone à cabeça do campeão intercontinental que se tentou defender, mas rapidamente foi atirado contra o símbolo da WWE que se encontra no topo da rampa. Miz acertou ainda o Mizard of Oz, deixando o campeão ensanguentado no topo da rampa. ( C )

 

Combate #3 ( King of the Ring – Elite 8 )

vs.

Jeff Hardy vs Kofi Kingston

Um combate extremamente agitado, que durou quase 16 minutos. Logo aos 2 minutos de combate, Jeff falhou um Whisper in the Wind que o deixou em mau estado para o resto do combate. Kingston massacrou as costas de Hardy e conseguiu várias Near Falls. Kingston foi para o S.O.S., mas foi aí que finalmente Jeff conseguiu um Twist of Fate que lhe deu uma Near Fall. Jeff subiu às cordas para o Swanton Bomb, mas deteve-se, talvez pela dor nas costas. Kofi levantou-se, meteu um pé na segunda corda e tentou o Trouble in Paradise, mas Jeff evitou e Kofi novamente ao tapete. Jeff, talvez inspirado no irmão atirou-se com um Leg Drop e acertou…1…2…Não! Jeff afastou Kofi um pouco mais do canto e voltou a subir. Desta Kofi reagiu melhor e acertou um Superplex que fez Jeff contorcer-se no chão… 1…2… Não! Kofi atirou-se com um springboard moonsault que acertou! 1…2…Não! Kofi então à corda superior, Jeff levantou-se e tal como Kofi minutos antes, atirou-se ao canto, agarrou Kofi e acertou um Twist of Fate mesmo dali. Cover! 1…2…3! Jeff Hardy vence e está entre os 4 que irão ter uma chance de se tornarem Reis da WWE no próximo Domingo. (B)

vs. w/

Matt Hardy vs Carlito w\ Victoria

Depois de um excelente combate com Jeff Hardy, foi a vez do mano mais velho ter um combate muito bom, desta feita, com Carlito. Carlito tentou várias vezes fazer batota para parar o veterano, que esteve sempre concentradíssimo. Orlando e Eduardo tentaram causar uma distracção ao árbitro do combate, mas Matt Hardy interveio para atirar os dois para longe. Quando se virou ficou com a cara cheia de maçã, pois Victoria tinha dado a maçã a Carlito no meio da confusão. Matt Hardy nem teve chance de se preparar para o Backstabber, e após uma contagem até 3, Carlito seguia para a fase seguinte, onde irá defrontar o outro mano Hardy. (B)

 

Nos bastidores…

 

John Cena: My guest at this time, the son of WWE Hall of Famer, Dusty Rhodes, Cody Rhodes.

 

Cody Rhodes: Hi John.

 

Cena: Cody, tonight you face a man you used to call a friend. A man that beat you for the Intercontinental Championship, and that is not only the current Mr. Money in the Bank, but was also the last winner of the King of the Ring tournament. What do you think of your odds for this match?

 

Rhodes: You know, John… Most people think of me for this match as the underdog. And I embrace that. The odds are stacked against me. CM Punk has beat me for the IC championship and the Money in the Bank briefcase, there’s no denying that.

 

Cena: Some people might be thinking that you’re throwing in the towel with this talk.

 

Rhodes: Not at all. You see, like you said, I’m the son of the American Dream, Dusty Rhodes. My father was an underdog for his whole life. The son of a plumber… the man who fought the four horsemen… Being the underdog is in my blood, and like my father I have to rise above all of that. I need to channel my father’s fortitude tonight, and if I do go through in the tournament, I promise that I will do all I have to, to dedicate the crown to my father.

 

Cena: Do you think that after this match the path for the throne and crown is wide open? Some have gone as far as saying that your match with CM Punk is an anticipated final of the tournament…

 

Rhodes: Not at all, we are just in the final eight, there are still two matches for the winner to have. Anything can happen come Sunday. If I get there, I will surely be careful not to get overconfident like that.

Combate #5 ( King of the Ring – Elite 8 )

vs.

Cody Rhodes vs CM Punk

Depois de ver este combate, de certeza que alguém se arrependeu de este combate não ter acontecido no PPV ao invés de na Raw. Com quase 17 minutos de combate, este foi sem dúvida um candidato a combate do ano. O domínio começou por ser de CM Punk, que tentou cansar o rival, conseguindo inclusivamente prender o Anaconda Vise, demasiado perto das cordas, mas não o soltando porque “tinha até aos 5”.

 

Punk continuou a tentar manter Cody quieto, mas este conseguiu pouco depois virar o combate, com um DDT. Cody acertou vários socos em Punk, tentou um dropkick mas falhou, dando mais uma aberta a Punk que o tentou levar para o canto do ringue, mas Cody respondeu com o Bionic Elbow! Vintage Rhodes! Cover! 1! 2! Não! Rhodes continuou a atacar Punk, mas descuidou-se e foi parar aos ombros de Punk… mas escapou. Punk empurrou imediatamente Rhodes para evitar o Silver Spoon DDT, e o árbitro caiu ao chão. Punk atirou Cody contra o canto do ringue, e foi até ao exterior do ringue procurar por uma cadeira.

 

Punk levou a cadeira do senhor do sino para dentro do ringue, e acertou uma cadeirada em cheio, na cabeça de Rhodes. Punk levantou novamente a cadeira, mas quando olhou em frente viu Matt Hardy a entrar no ringue! Matt evitou levar uma cadeirada, e com uma clothesline atirou Punk ao chão. Matt esperou que Punk se levantasse e acertou um Twist of Fate! Matt pegou em Rhodes, meteu o braço por cima de Punk, e saiu do ringue com a cadeira… O árbitro lentamente aproximou-se para contar o pin…1…2… Não! Mesmo assim, nenhum dos dois se levantou durante algum tempo, e o árbitro teve de contar…1…2…3…4…5…6.. só agora se começam a levantar…7…8… e os dois estão de pé! Os dois foram um contra o outro, e foi Rhodes a superar o adversário com um Neckbreaker. Rhodes trabalhou um pouco as pernas de Punk, que teve de chegar às cordas para tentar parar a dor. O árbitro afastou Rhodes de Punk, que se levantou e acertou um Roundhouse Kick! Cover! 1…2…Não! Punk estava desesperado. Levou Rhodes até ao canto do ringue e após alguns socos, prendeu a cabeça de Cody entre as suas pernas, prendeu-lhe os braços e preparou-se para saltar… Cody conseguiu prender as pernas nas cordas e por isso não caiu no Plunge… Punk aproveitou a elevação de Cody para ir para o GTS! Ken Kennedy vs John Dalton

Quando Kennedy se dirigiu ao ringue, foi imediatamente atacado por trás, pelo seu adversário. Kennedy conseguiu evitar um Superkick e tentou entrar do ringue, mas antes de lá chegar, Edge apareceu e acertou-lhe uma cadeirada. Edge espancou Kennedy durante alguns minutos, até que Dalton se levantou e decidiu… atacar Edge. Dalton parecia ter ficado chateado com o facto de Edge se ter intrometido na sua luta, mas Edge acabou por também lhe acertar um spear. Com Dalton e Kennedy estendidos no meio do ringue, Edge pegou no título mundial e levantou-o sob um coro de assobios, para fechar a Raw. (B)

Devias de dividir o main title. Criavas um de campeão honorário para o Kennedy, estilo Million Dollar Title e o outro era para ser disputado. O Edge está a um passinho do título, mas o Kennedy perdê-lo é crime... Abençoado Creative Control. :mrgreen:

Deixa-me já dizer que fico contente que tenha saído bem. Não foi fácil de o escrever, foi um bocado às mijinhas, e quando vi que estava a ficar tão longo pensei que pudesse estar a arrastar-se.

 

O Cole não é comentador, mas todos gostamos dele e portanto é para matar saudades. :mrgreen:

 

Eu fico sempre contente por gostarem tanto do Kennedy, mas tenho medo que... Well you'll see. :mrgreen:

 

O Punk de facto não precisava de ganhar isto duas vezes seguidas, quando ainda por cima é Mr. Money in the Bank e tem storyline pronta. Quanto ao Matt, já dizia o outro: "Come uma peça de fruta, que te faz melhor". :lol:

"I have to rise above all of that" The new Cena, oh fuck. Pensava mesmo que o Punk ia ganhar com um Dusty finish... mas como já tens história para ele isto surge com normalidade.

O Matt já nem pode ser saudável, coitado, nem fruta pode comer.

Grande Edge, a dar cabo de tudo e a roubar o título. Vamos ver se o Kennedy não o vai apanhar ao mar :mrgreen:

Logo depois do combate, The Beast entrou no ringue e atacou RedruM. Depois pegou no micro e avisou James Mitchell que assim que Batista tenha resolvido o seu problema no Domingo, Beast iria atrás de Mitchell. (C+)

Um combate bem disputado durante mais de 12 minutos, e ganho com um Spear de Lashley no Wildcat (C+).

 

CM Punk falou nos bastidores sobre como Matt Hardy o impediu de se tornar o primeiro lutador da história da WWE, a vencer o King of The Ring em dois anos consecutivos. Falou também que espera meter as mãos em Matt no próximo Domingo, e que nada está perdido, pois no Domingo até pode sair do King of the Ring como o novo WWE Champion. Hoje ia apenas tratar de derrotar Homicide, mais tarde. (B-)

Após o combate Jimmy Rave esticou a mão para o parceiro que aceitou apertar-lhe a mão. Em resposta, Rave aplicou um crossface em Dalton e foram precisos vários árbitros para o obrigar a soltar a manobra. (B-)
