The Bad Blood Publicado 31 Janeiro 2008 Algumas das poss?veis estrelas do pr?ximo Draft: Michael Beasley - PF (Kansas State; 19 anos; 2,06m) [Compara??o: More Athletic Zach Randolph] MIN: 29,6 PTS: 25,3 FG: 56,6% REBS: 12,7 ASTS: 1,2 STLS: 1,3 BLKS: 1,8 Beasley is a prototypical face the basket modern-day power forward. He is strong, but incredibly quick, possessing the type of agile first step that makes him an absolutely devastating threat creating his own shot from the perimeter. Kansas State is utilizing him a great deal at the top of the key on Isolation plays, where the lefty likes to take his man off the dribble with his smooth ball-handling skills and finish with either with and a variety of pretty floaters and layups. He has incredible body control to get the job done on these types of drives, handling the ball in the open floor like a guard, and at times pulling up off the dribble fluidly from mid-range with the greatest of ease. Derrick Rose - PG (Memphis; 19 anos; 1,96m) [Compara??o: Baron Davis] MIN: 28,0 PTS: 14,3 FG: 48,5% REBS: 4,1 ASTS: 4,4 STLS: 1,2 BLKS: 0,4 Watching his footage, it’s hard not to wonder whether Rose might actually be the most athletic point guard we’ve ever evaluated at the college level. We talk about quickness and explosiveness and such all the time on DraftExpress, but Rose is clearly in a class of his own. His first step is nothing short of breathtaking, and when combined with his terrific ball-handling skills (particularly his awesome crossover) and outstanding body control once in the lane, we’re talking about an unstoppable force when it comes to his slashing game. Rose can handle the ball very well with both hands (although he favors his right), and is always looking for an opportunity to use a lethal assortment of jukes and hesitation moves to get to the basket, as he’s supposed to in John Calipari’s offence. Once he’s there, his excellent leaping ability allows him to just hang in the air and finish strong with a variety of acrobatic layups, floaters or sometimes even an emphatic dunk. This leaping ability gives him a chance to finish almost every single time, as he can just wait for the defense to subside and then kiss the ball off the glass on his way down. Eric Gordon - SG (Indiana; 19 anos; 1,93m) [Compara??o: Rich-Men Ben Gordon] MIN: 32,8 PTS: 21,7 FG: 48,1% REBS: 3,2 ASTS: 2,4 STLS: 1,4 BLKS: 0,7 Coming out of high school, Eric Gordon had already proved himself among the elite scorers of his talented class. His start to the college season has even surprised the biggest Gordon fans so far. The first year guard has scored the ball as efficiently as anybody in college basketball to this point, doing so without forcing shots outside of Indiana’s offensive flow. Through his first 4 games of basketball, Gordon averaged 28 points per game on a very impressive 14 shot attempts, while shooting 60% from behind the three point line. It is unlikely that these numbers will carry over to the high-major opponents that Indiana will face in the coming weeks, but one must take notice of the all-around offensive approach that allows him this great efficiency. In transition, Gordon often handles the ball and can draw contact nearly every time he attacks the basket. Great body control and the ability to adjust around defenders in the air allows him to finish on the majority of these attempts. In the half -court offense, Gordon has proved capable of creating his own shot at will. On his many isolation plays, he can either shoot an early three pointer, pull up off the dribble, or take the ball all the way to the hoop. O.J. Mayo - PG/SG (USC; 20 anos; 1,98m) [Compara??o: Dwyane Wade] MIN: 36,3 PTS: 19,9 FG: 44,1% REBS: 4,7 ASTS: 3,2 STLS: 1,3 BLKS: 0,3 With that said, Mayo is still very much an impressive prospect. He has very good size at 6-5, with a terrific body that looks ready to compete right away in the NBA. He’s a powerful athlete with outstanding body control and great ball-handling skills going either left or right, and excellent instincts finding and creating shots for himself, as well as for others. Mayo’s court vision is much better than his 2.9 assists per game would indicate. He brings the ball up the court regularly and for the most part looks quite unselfish executing his team’s half-court sets, making the extra pass and finding the open man when he’s trapped/double-teamed off a pick and roll play time after time, but too often only to see his teammates miss a wide open shot. Late in games or shot-clocks (for example against Memphis) he’s forced into take-over mode, where his entire team clears out of the way for an Isolation play and watches him go 1 on 5 in impossible fashion. This seems to happen far too often, but is almost a necessity considering how poor a team USC is offensively (ranked 308th by Pomeroy in 3-point shooting for example.) Danilo Gallinari - SF (Milano; 19 anos; 2,06m) [Compara??o: Hedo Turkoglu] MIN: 31,6 PTS: 14,9 FG: 42,0% REBS: 4,2 ASTS: 1,7 STLS: 1,5 BLKS: 0,4 It’s becoming increasingly usual to see Danilo Gallinari producing almost at will regardless of who he goes up against. His skill repertoire, knowledge of the game and physical gifts propose a devastating equation that hardly anybody can consistently contest. Just consider that he’s living in the 20+ point mark for the last five games now, combining both the Euroleague and the Italian Lega. The run includes last week’s defeat against the Israeli powerhouse Maccabi Elite Tel Aviv, where Gallinari carried his team’s offensive load with 27 points, 4 rebounds and 3 steals, and the comfortable victory over Scavolini Spar Pesaro, that only required him to spend 26 minutes on court, but was still enough to come up with 20 points and 6 rebounds. Roy Hibbert - C (Georgetown; 21 anos; 2,20m) [Compara??o: Zydrunas Ilgauskas] MIN: 25,7 PTS: 13,1 FG: 59,3% REBS: 6,8 ASTS: 1,9 STLS: 0,4 BLKS: 1,9 Hibbert has a diverse offensive skill-set that reflects his maturity and intelligence. Around the basket, he has advanced post moves and rarely looks lost with the ball in his hands. He has a combination of spin moves; drop steps, and fakes that he uses extremely efficiently to score. He also moves well without the ball, playing the pick and roll well as both a screen setter and a scorer. Hibbert has a nice looking hook shot that he can hit off the dribble or stationary. It is incredibly difficult to contest, as well, because of Hibbert’s enormous wingspan and the simple fact that he can utilize either hand. Hibbert also uses the backboard very well, showing a soft touch that allows him to score off soft bank shots and short jumpers. He also is extremely aggressive around the basket and can dunk emphatically both on put backs and even coming off a post move. Sometimes, however, this energy and aggression causes him to commit charges and get stripped. More often, though, he is able to draw fouls. During his time at Georgetown, Hibbert has shot about 30 more foul shots every year. Last season at the line he shot a respectable 68.6% on 153 attempts, but getting back around the 72.3% he shot as a sophomore would be ideal.
