A pic é a do site da nba, quando eles actualizarem muda. Não vou estar a por uma pic com o triplo do tamanho das outras lulz.

Btw, aqui vai o Q&A com os novos reforços:

Suns.com hooked up with the newest members of the Suns, guard Jason Richardson and forward Jared Dudley, for exclusive phone interviews on Wednesday night. The two, who were acquired in a trade that sent Raja Bell, Boris Diaw and Sean Singletary to Chalotte, were just sitting down to watch the Suns-Lakers game on ESPN from their hotel rooms in New Orleans, where their former Bobcats team is playing the Hornets.

The following is a transcript of the Q&A with Dudley, who is in his second pro season after being selected with the 22nd pick of the 2007 NBA Draft.

Suns.com: First things first; what is your reaction to the trade?

Dudley: Excitement. I’m going to the Phoenix Suns – one of the best teams in the Western Conference! They have star power. For me to come in and try to be one of the pieces, come of the bench and do all the little things.

Suns.com: Tell us how you found out about the trade.

Dudley: I was doing my normal thing, getting ready to start against the Hornets, taking my pre-game nap so I could get the early bus over to the arena and get some practice in when the general manager called and told me I had been traded with Jason Richardson to Phoenix for Boris Diaw and Raja Bell.

Suns.com: This is, of course, your first trade as an NBA player. Is it strange after spending the early portion of your career in Charlotte?

Dudley: It’s strange, but I couldn’t have picked a better team to go to. I’m from San Diego, so it's going to be nice going back to the West coast. I’m a "three" or a "four" player, like Boris Diaw. When you add in Jason Richardson and what this team already has, I’m excited.

Suns.com: What do you think about this group of players you're joining?

Dudley: Amar'e and Nash are perfect in the pick and roll – Stockton and Malone types. Shaq has won titles and demands a double-team, which makes things a lot easier. People know about Jason Richardson and know what he can do. They don’t know about me. I think Phoenix will be surprised about what I can bring to the table.

Suns.com: Were you a fan of any of the players on this team when you were growing up?

Dudley: I remember Grant Hill on the Magic and before that on the Pistons. Nash went from Dallas to Phoenix where he won back-to-back MVP awards. I was a huge fan of Shaq, especially when he was playing with Penny in Orlando. Stoudemire went from a lottery pick where people were passing on him to one of the best power forwards in the league. They have the star power. Now they can use some role players and that’s where I can help.

Suns.com: What can Phoenix fans expect from you?

Dudley: They can expect someone who is going to be really aggressive defensively, denying the other team the ball. I’ve had to guard Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Dirk Nowitzki. I’ve had to guard the best person on the opposing team. Offensively, I have a high basketball IQ, I look to get everyone involved, set screens, take charges, get steals; all of the little things. That’s what I’m going to try and bring to Phoenix.

Suns.com: Steve Kerr talked about your defense, as well. Is that something you pride yourself on?

Dudley: It’s something I pride myself on because in the NBA a lot of people are good offensively but you can set yourself apart on the defensive end. I can bring a lot of energy. I’ve started a few times this season, but I can also be a help to this team off the bench.

Suns.com: What are fans going to get with Jason Richardson?

Dudley: Excitement. You have someone who is explosive in the open court. If people like dunks, they’re going to love him. He’s going to dunk on people. He’s a shooting guard with unlimited range. Being on this team is only going to help him. With the Bobcats everyone was focusing on him coming off screens and he still scored 20 a game. And now, basically becoming a role player on this team, getting shots is going to be much easier for him.

Suns.com called guard Jason Richardson and forward Jared Dudley on Wednesday night, to get their reaction to the afternoon trade that will bring them to Phoenix.

The athletic duo was just sitting down to watch the Suns-Lakers game on ESPN from their hotel rooms in New Orleans, where their former Bobcats team is playing the Hornets. The Suns sent Raja Bell, Boris Diaw and Sean Singletary to Charlotte in the five-player trade, in which the Suns will also receive a second-round draft pick in 2010.

The following is a transcript of the exlusive interview with "J-Rich," who is averaging 18.7 points and 4.1 boards a game this season.

Suns.com: Congratulations on the trade. How are you feeling about coming to Phoenix?

Richardson: Oh, I’m happy. I’m ready to get down to Phoenix right now and start working.

Suns.com: How did you find out about the trade?

Richardson: I was taking a pre-game nap in preparation for the game against the Bobcats and the general manager called me and asked me if I was ready to go to the West coast. I was a little confused at first because I was still half-asleep. He told me to get my running shoes on because I had just been traded to Phoenix. I got a big smile on my face because I knew what Phoenix had and adding me to that team could help out a lot.

Suns.com: Did you think you were still dreaming?

Richardson: I actually did. And then I held up the phone and thought, “Hold on. I just got traded?” I called my friends, family and fiancé to tell them. It was shocking, because I didn’t know I was going to be involved in any trades. I hadn’t heard any rumors so it was out of the blue. But it is one of those trades that you’re happy about.

Suns.com: I’m sure your teammates were disappointed.

Richardson: Yes, they were. I have a lot of great teammates here. We were all out in the (hotel) hallway and were talking. I let them know that I wasn’t going to the game tonight because I had been traded.

Suns.com: What are your thoughts on the Suns?

Richardson: There are high expectations in Phoenix. You can see what the roster has with Amar’e, Shaq, Steve. Those guys are future Hall of Famers. I’m very excited to play alongside guys like that for the first time in my career. I’ve never played on a team like this. I’ve always been on re-building teams. I’ve only been to the playoffs once. I’ve never really won anything, but I think I can bring a lot to this team and have a special season.

Suns.com: You played with Matt Barnes at Golden State. How do you feel about reuniting with him?

Richardson: Matt is a great guy. He called me today and said if I needed anything I should call him. I have a good relationship with him. It’ll be good to see a familiar face and to ask where to go, where to eat in Phoenix and all of those types of things.

Suns.com: What should fans know about you?

Richardson: I’m an exciting player. I do everything to win games. I have a lot of energy, I can dunk and shoot the threes. I give everything I can on the court. I’m not trying to take anyone’s spot. I just want to come in and do what is needed. I’ll fill the void where it is needed. Whatever it is – defense, scoring, rebounding, whatever it is. I just want to help the team to win and get deep in the playoffs.

Suns.com: What style of play is your game best suited for?

Richardson: Running, but I can play the halfcourt a little bit, too. Running fits my game perfectly, but I can also play the slow tempo, if needed.

Suns.com: Steve Kerr talked about your defense, as well as your scoring.

Richardson: People don’t give me enough credit for my defense. I can do a lot better job than what I’m doing now. I love challenges. Whatever the coaches and front office ask of me, that’s what I’m going to do.

Suns.com: What about Jared Dudley? Phoenix fans don't know a whole lot about him.

Richardson: Jared is one of those guys who is in the right spot at the right time on every play. He plays hard. He never takes the night off. He gives it his all. He plays defense. He can make shots. And he can definitely rebound.

Suns.com: Will you two be watching the Suns play the Lakers tonight?

Richardson: Oh yeah. I’ll definitely watch the Suns tonight to see where I can fit in and help the team. We’re the only two left in the hotel so we’re going to watch the game together (laughs). We went to dinner together earlier tonight and were talking about going to Phoenix.

Suns.com: So what’s the game plan for the next couple days?

Richardson: I’m going to head back to Charlotte in the morning and pick up a few things, and then will get into Phoenix on Friday. I can't wait!

Roller Coaster Ride, Anyone?

February 20th, 2009 by Josh Greene

Needless to say, it’s been an up-and-down week on Planet Orange. Beginning with a plethora of questions about the state of a Suns team just over .500 heading into an All-Star Weekend at home (not to mention the somewhat-expected fixation with Thursday’s trading deadline), the second half of the season got off to a fresh coaching start with the promotion of Alvin Gentry and subsequent three-straight wins.

The word “run” has been used many times in the past when associated with this team, but for the first time in a long while, the mention of it in Gentry’s introductory press conference carried an optimistic feel to it - an optimism that’s been validated with back-to-back-to-back 140-point efforts after Friday’s 140-118 win over the visiting Thunder. Jason Richardson scored a season-high 34 points, while Leandro Barbosa tallied a game- and career-high 41 points to go along with seven boards, seven assists and six steals.

With word of Amar’e Stoudemire possibly missing the next eight weeks after successful surgery to correct a partially detached retina earlier in the day, a strong showing by the short-staffed Suns was crucial - especially against a Thunder squad that’s had its own issues this season. And for the second time this week, LB has come up big in a starting role. Filling in for a suspended J-Rich Tuesday to the tune of 24 points, he went 16-of-21 from the field Friday, including 5-of-7 from long range, to pace the Suns.

“This is my fifth year with LB,” said Gentry, who joined Scott Skiles as the only Suns coaches to win their first three games, “and when you get into an open court game like we played tonight he is as good as anyone in the league from a standpoint of making steals. And when he gets on a roll shooting the ball, he really feels good about the way he is playing and real confident - so he shot the ball extremely well.”

Sinking the Suns’ final basket with a 21-foot jumper with just over 20 seconds left in the ballgame, Barbosa enabled Phoenix to become the first team since the 1990-91 Portland Trail Blazers to score 140 or more points in three-straight games (Nov. 13-17, 1990).

“I didn’t know what was happening on the court at the end of the game,” Barbosa said. “We were winning and coach said for me to keep going to the basket. After we finished the game, I found out I had 41 points. I was very happy, but I was happier that we did it together and knew what we needed to do and was doing our work as a team. We’re getting there.”

Steve Nash added, “I think this proves if we really push the ball and make good decisions, we can score no matter who is in the lineup. Obviously, over an extended period of games, we’re going to miss Amar’e, but we have guys who can fill in the gaps for short periods of time. We just have to keep working together and make up for his absence.”

Conceding the lack of any STAT highlight reels anytime in the foreseeable future, Gentry was optimistic when it came to the rest of the team picking up the slack, including productive minutes from new starter LB, as well as the rest of the bench.

“Whether it’s a dunk or a lay-up, it still counts as two points,” the head coach said.

Regardless of their three-game winning and 140-point scoring streaks, the Suns know their newfound mettle will be tested in their next 11 games against teams with a combined winning percentage of .649, beginning with the defending champion Boston Celtics Sunday afternoon.

And for the first time in an arguably long time, they sound like they’re up to the challenge.

“We feel sorry for Amar’e, because he was playing great,” said Gentry about the loss of his All-Star forward, “but as a team, we don’t feel sorry for ourselves.”

Suns sign Swift to increase frontcourt depth

Posted Mar 4 2009 12:14PM

MIAMI (AP) -- Forward Stromile Swift signed a free-agent contract with Phoenix on Wednesday for the remainder of the season, giving the Suns another big man to replace the injured Amar'e Stoudemire.

Swift will be in uniform Wednesday night when the Suns visit the Miami Heat, the team said.

Swift was waived earlier this week by the New Jersey Nets. The nine-year veteran averaged only 3.8 points in six games with the Nets this season, but the former LSU standout could be vital to Phoenix, which may be without Stoudemire (eye surgery) for the remainder of the season.

"We are very pleased to be able to add a player of Stromile's caliber at this late date," Suns president and general manager Steve Kerr said. "We believe that his athleticism, length and experience will be valuable to us as we head down the stretch run."

Swift has averages of 8.5 points and 4.7 rebounds in 534 career games with the Vancouver and Memphis Grizzlies, Houston Rockets and the Nets.

Fri, Mar 6 F Amare Stoudemire's recovery from a detached retina will keep him out for the regular season and the playoffs. "It's very difficult to explain to anyone how serious this is," Dr. Pravin Dugel said to The Arizona Republic. "It's more serious than any knee or ankle surgery. The healing is excruciatingly slow and delicate." When he returns, Stoudemire expects to wear protective goggles for the rest of his career.

A mim lembra o Katsouranis.

Bem, o miúdo não é assim tão mau, acho que ainda pode dar um reserva decente, ao contrário de outros pesos mortos que lá andam...
