Naitch Publicado 24 Agosto 2013 (editado) Tema oficial do evento Promo do evento Randy Orton © vs Daniel Bryan - WWE Championship Daniel Bryan was dealt a cruel hand at SummerSlam, but at Night of Champions, the WWE Universe’s favorite “Yes!” Man has an opportunity to reclaim the championship gold that many believe was unfairly ripped from him when he faces WWE Champion Randy Orton. By invoking his rematch clause, “The Beard” again has a chance to usher in a new era of WWE main eventer and prove he is much more than a “solid B-plus,” as Stephanie McMahon suggests. Yet to complete the transition, he’ll have to conquer WWE’s Apex Predator, who — as the world found out at The Biggest Party of the Summer — has very powerful advocates in the form of the McMahon family and Triple H. The rematch was announced on the Aug. 23 edition of SmackDown, after Bryan outright challenged The Viper to a fight on the blue brand. The arrogant Orton instead insisted the match will have to wait until Sunday, Sept. 15, on pay-per-view. Whether Triple H, WWE Chairman Mr. McMahon or Stephanie McMahon will wield any influence at Night of Champions remains to be seen, though their lack of faith in Bryan as WWE Champion has been made painfully clear. For his part, Orton claims he has merely taken advantage of opportunities as they’ve come. As far as The Viper is concerned, Bryan’s bad luck is Orton’s good fortune, and nothing more. Outside influences aside, the WWE Title Match at Night of Champions holds plenty of intrigue, never mind intensely bitter feelings between champion and challenger. Unlike their memorable three-bout series earlier this past summer — which ended with a handshake after the submission specialist made The Viper tap out in a Street Fight — there is little respect to be found this time around. Rather, with the WWE Title now around his waist, Orton believes himself on a much higher plane than his No. 1 contender — an opinion evidently shared by the WWE Chairman, COO and Executive Vice President of Creative. Yet, will the implicit support of Triple H and the McMahons help Orton fend off the “Yes!” Lock that made him quit once before? The WWE Universe has seen what Bryan, the ultimate underdog, is capable of when his back is against the wall. How will his seething anger toward the establishment manifest itself when the squared circle’s most prestigious title is on the line? Come Night of Champions on Sunday, Sept. 15, the face of WWE could end up looking a whole lot hairier. Don’t miss out on the title conflict when it airs live on pay-per-view, starting at 8 ET/5 PT. Alberto Del Rio © vs Rob Van Dam - World Heavyweight Championship A good manager clearly goes a long way. Just ask Ricardo Rodriguez, who bounced back from an unceremonious firing by Alberto Del Rio by coaching a new client to challenge for The Essence of Excellence’s World Title at Night of Champions: Rob Van Dam. A pay-per-view confrontation between Del Rio and Van Dam has been seemingly brewing for some time. One of Mr. Monday Night’s biggest victories came hot off his return at WWE Money in the Bank, when he faced down the World Heavyweight Champion on SmackDown and won. The two Superstars would clash again throughout the following weeks, including a momentous contest where Ricardo – then still Del Rio’s manager – cost the champion the bout and was punished with a skull-rattling beatdown by a furious Del Rio. Though the beating served as Ricardo’s pink slip from the champion, the veteran ring announcer wasted no time in both joining forces with RVD and helping the former WWE Champion become No. 1 contender on the Aug. 19 edition of Raw. And so now comes the moment of truth, where two of WWE’s most accomplished Superstars will collide for a title with a lineage almost as storied as their own. With Del Rio looking to cling to the title he has coveted for two years, and RVD looking to complete the rarely-seen World Title trifecta (as a former ECW and WWE Champion, he’s one away from the hat trick), the implications for Night of Champions are both personal and historic. For Del Rio, this match marks a crucial phase in his second reign with the World Heavyweight Title. Though he’s proven himself fallible in non-title matches, thus far the champion’s luck has held tough when his prize is up for grabs. RVD, for all the awe his return has inspired, sits firmly on the opposite side of the coin: Though he’s racked up wins since coming back to WWE, he has yet to maneuver his way back into a World Championship picture after he competed for the WWE Title Money in the Bank contract. And then there’s Ricardo, the third piece who rounds out the puzzle. Looking for redemption of his own, the ring announcer has been belittled and beaten in equal measure by Del Rio. RVD wants the “Big Gold Title.” Ricardo wants his pound of flesh. Could they both get what they want at Night of Champions? Or will "destiny" favor Del Rio once more? CM Punk vs Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel & Paul Heyman - Elimination Handicap Match CM Punk is determined to get his hands on Paul Heyman at Night of Champions if it’s the last thing he does. So obsessed is The Second City Saint with destroying his onetime confidant that he barged into Raw General Manager Brad Maddox's office and demanded a match at Night of Champions on Sept. 15. This came after Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel and Paul Heyman handcuffed and savagely brutalized Punk on the Aug. 26 edition of Raw. Maddox agreed and even upped the ante, turning the bout into an Elimination Handicap Match, meaning Punk will have to prevail in two falls to win. The stipulation also allows for the possibility of The Straight Edge Superstar facing Heyman in a long-awaited one-on-one scenario. Maddox also warned that if Heyman tries to get out of the match, Punk will never have to see him again. Since double-crossing Punk weeks ago, the scheming manager has shrewdly avoided landing in the same ring as The Best in the World in any official capacity, despite several close calls. The Second City Saint scored some measure of retribution during “The Best vs. The Beast” match with Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam, punching Heyman and locking him in the Anaconda Vise. Though Punk’s blissful mid-match beatdown of Heyman was enough to leave the extreme mastermind’s arm in a sling, the onslaught was also short-lived, interrupted by The Anomaly. At Night of Champions, Heyman’s time for running may, in fact, be over. Not to be neglected, however, is the third party involved: Intercontinental Champion Curtis Axel. The Best in the World has so far overmatched the third-generation Superstar in every outing, yet with each encounter, the ever-confident Axel has gleaned more insight into Punk’s strategy. Could Sept. 15 be the date that Axel shocks the world and bests Punk, simultaneously protecting Heyman? There’s also the distraction factor: Punk’s intense focus on Heyman arguably cost him his match against Lesnar; might that same blind rage cause him to lose sight of the dangerous and opportunistic Intercontinental Champion? Or, will Axel turn into an appetizer for The Best in the World, a precursor to the entrée that is a one-on-one showdown with the conniving Paul Heyman? To witness the fireworks, be sure to watch Night of Champions live on pay-per-view Sunday, Sept. 15, at 8 ET/5 PT. AJ Lee © vs. Natalya vs. Brie Bella vs. Naomi - Divas Championship (Fatal 4-Way Match) For every action, there is a reaction; for every insult there is a retaliation; and for every explosion, there is a fallout. Divas Champion AJ Lee took hold of a microphone last week and channeled her inner CM Punk, unleashing a tirade that left a patch of scorched earth where the “Total Divas” cast once stood. And now, from the ashes, the targets of her own personal pipe bomb are coming for a little payback in the form of a Fatal 4-Way at Night of Champions. Leading the charge against the “Black Widow” will be a pair of pink-and-black boots belonging to Natalya, the Hart Dungeon graduate who hasn’t tasted Diva Title glory in several years. Natalya has become one of the breakout stars of E!’s “Total Divas” and already channeled that success into a pair of high profile wins at both SummerSlam and SummerSlam Axxess. With both a world-class training background and more than a little personal stake in the matter, Natalya is as likely as anyone to give AJ her comeuppance … … Provided she can score the win before Brie Bella. As one half of the self-proclaimed faces of the Divas division, Brie and her sister Nikki have presided over the women’s ranks with the swagger of two lionesses, mastering the red carpet and squared circle with equal ease. Despite a loss to Natalya at SummerSlam, Brie hasn’t let up, conscripting newbie Diva Eva Marie into the Bella Army and growing their ranks by one. Now backed by one of the most visible women in the Divas division, Brie is primed to bring the title back to the Bella family … … If she can get past Naomi, who has fast become one of the Divas division’s most uniquely athletic and exciting competitors and already contended for the butterfly title. After years of honing her skills, Naomi has already proven herself so much more than one of the gals from Planet Funk, and as her abilities grow with her visibility, it may be her time to finally take flight as Divas Champion. Of course … … All this is moot if they can’t take the title from the devious Diva who currently holds it. AJ’s clutch on the Divas Championship has been all but unbreakable since she first grasped it in the spring; it’s become such a part of her that she had the date of her victory tattooed on the back of her neck. The Divas’ resident “Black Widow” has fielded a series of tough-as-nails challenges from Kaitlyn and prevailed through all of them, keeping the division’s gilded butterfly firmly caught in her web. It’s been a combination of luck, ruthlessness and the right friends that kept AJ in the game this far, but with The Pink and Black Attack, Twin Magic and Planet Funk’s finest all gunning for her gold, AJ Lee’s luck might finally have run out … … That said, surviving the fallout is not unheard of, even if the explosion is of your own making. The Prime Time Players vs. The Usos vs. Tons of Funk vs. The Real Americans vs. 3MB - Tag Team Turmoil No. 1 Contender’s Match (Kickoff Match) The Shield fancy themselves as the “Hounds of Justice,” but every top dog will always have its challengers. In this case, there just happen to be 10 of them. But for the ravenous denizens of WWE’s tag team division, there is only one path to challenging Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns at Night of Champions: They’ll have to survive the Night of Champions Kickoff, and with it, Tag Team Turmoil. A unique match stipulation where the five teams compete gauntlet-style to determine survival of the fittest, the bout will pit two teams in the ring until one is eliminated, at which point a new tandem will enter the scrum and face off against the survivors of the previous matchup. Last men standing get their opportunity at the twin titles. Simple enough, rules-wise, but the path to the doorstep of championship glory is anything but. Tons of Funk and The Real Americans both boast some of WWE’s most powerful Superstars. The Usos, finally coming into their own as perennial title contenders, boast a wild, freewheeling style that has already nearly cost The Shield their titles. The Prime Time Players are on a formidable hot streak. And while 3MB might seem like the weak link of the group, they’ve hung tougher with their opponents than their win-loss record would suggest. And then, the team that makes it out of the turmoil will have to deal with The Shield themselves. Already two of WWE’s most talented young Superstars, Rollins & Reigns have made a new name for themselves as the apparent enforcers of WWE COO Triple H as the one-year anniversary of their debut approaches. Any team that faces them at Night of Champions will be in a weakened state, and the margin for error will be small. So who, exactly, is the biggest dog in the tag-team yard? Perhaps this bout of turmoil will provide a clear answer. Dean Ambrose © vs. Dolph Ziggler - United States Championship At Night of Champions this Sunday, Sept. 15, Dolph Ziggler gets a chance at retribution — and the United States Title — when he goes one-on-one with The Shield’s most chaotic member, U.S. Champion Dean Ambrose. For several weeks leading up to the pay-per-view, things were really not going The Showoff’s way. Finding himself at odds with WWE COO Triple H, he was placed in virtually unwinnable Handicap Matches against all three members of The Shield, in addition to suffering assaults before and during his other matches at the hands of the vicious Hounds of Justice. Ironically, it would be this type of torment that would ultimately lead to his good fortune. Two days before Night of Champions, SmackDown General Manager Vickie Guerrero gave Ziggler a golden opportunity: If the former World Champion could defeat Ambrose one-on-one, he would win a title contest at Sunday’s pay-per-view. And The Showoff did win, fittingly, by disqualification when WWE Tag Team Champions Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns interfered just as Ziggler was closing in on a stirring, come-from-behind victory. As the No. 1 contender, Ziggler presents unique challenges for the eccentric Hound of Justice. With slick grappling, striking athleticism and boundless cardio, The Showoff’s style contrasts with the 6-foot-4, 225-pound Ambrose’s penchant for wild, frenzied brawls. Although both are highly talented mat technicians, Ziggler’s motivation for payback and Ambrose’s take-two-punches-to-land-one mentality could turn this contest into a highly physical and personal battle of attrition. That would suit the unhinged Ambrose — who rides into Night of Champions on a massive wave of momentum — just fine. A dominant, three-month reigning champion, he may have preferred a night off Sunday, but he has proven he’s not afraid of any Superstar. In addition to his fearlessness and confidence, he always has Rollins and Reigns on his side, ready to take advantage of The Shield’s notorious numbers game at a moment’s notice. Can The Showoff knock off the United States Champion and become the first Superstar to dethrone a member of The Hounds of Justice? Or, will Ambrose — and The Shield — continue to dominate? To find out, watch Night of Champions this Sunday, Sept. 15, live on pay-per-view, starting at 8 ET/5 PT. Este sou eu que abro.
