In no particular order, we'll get to witness the usual "nWo World Heavyweight Championship" open challenge by John Cena;

Debutant Vin Quade will challenge for the 24/7 Championship held by Megalith;

Newly crowned WWE Women's Tag Team Champions Kabuki Warriors will defend their straps against former champs, Blonde Bombshells and the challengers on last Pay-per-view, SmackDivas;

Nikki Cross is convinced Taynara is the culprit of Alexa Bliss attack, so the duo will face each other the mat;

And after Candice LeRae ran in to save Deonna Purrazzo from a beating last week, we hear the pair will form a tag team, and their first match together will be against the KickStarters.

Also, Messiah (and would-be World Heavyweight Champion) Seth Rollins is holding an Homily Against the Evils of Roman Reigns, at the Liturgy's Temple. We'll wait for the Big Dog's reaction to this provocation.

O superman punch não é exatamente o finisher, é um signature move, por norma feito antes do Spear. 

No caso do Roman até acho que funciona bem porque os socos dele são credíveis e é daqueles moves que eu gosto, que podem vir do nada. Se preferires algo diferente para ele, lembro me que há uns tempos ele chegou a usar uma espécie de powerbomb que funcionava muito bem. 

Podes sempre metê lo a usar um FU/AA e talvez daqui a uns tempos até pegar por aí para uma feud com o Cena, se voltar a ser o Cena normal.

Por acaso tinha pensado no AA. Mas há dois obstáculos: primeiro, o Cena está activo (ao momento vá) e está na mesma brand. Seria esquisito, Segundo, epá se o problema do Roman é ele ser um squeaky clean à Cena, sendo que a crowd nao engole isso, não acho que lhe fizesse um favor ao torná-lo ainda mais Cena.

Tenho de pensar fora da caixa. Tem de ser uma move impactante. Mas o SM Punch está fora. Recuso-me a usar aquilo.

The show opens with a Video of the Commonwealth of Nations, that opens with a loud and obnoxious rendering of “Rule Britannia”. They all meeting in a lavish room. Corbin is seated in a throne. He speaks in a exaggerated phony British posh accent.:

Corbin – Hello there, my subjects. This is your King speaking to you, the lower classes. I’m here in the Commonwealth of Nations Palace, governing my subjects with the expert counsel of my nobles. And I am a gentle King, a sovereign close to his subjects, so I’m sharing my Royal daily routine. Roll the tape.

(a composite video shows the Commonwealth of Nations daily routine, with Wade Barrett teaching Corbin proper British enunciation of words, Roode inspecting the Royal Guard, Drake ordering the household staff in to polishing the silverware properly, Gallagher is instructing the horsekeepers)

Cole – Welcome to Friday Night SmackDown, live on FOX, from Buffalo on the shadow of the majestic Niagara Falls, as we are about to cross the border to Canada, in preparation for SummerSlam two weeks from now, at Montreal. I’m joined by Paige tonight. Paige, you’re British, what’s your take on the so called “Commonwealth of Nations”?

Paige – They’re marvelous, Barrett is doing a tremendous job, in turning those guys into a solid and coherent group behind the esteemed values of Victorian society and British Culture.

M. Cole – But Paige….Corbin is American, surely is not a good fit in that group, let alone in leading it!

Paige – No Cole, Corbin is not an American, he renounced the citizenship. You saw it, the world saw it. At this time, I’m told he is stateless. But I understand Wade Barrett is schooling him in order for him to pass is British citizenship test. Plus I understand he’s of Welsh ancestry, Barrett told me he’s a descendent of King Arthur himself!

M. Cole – Well. Ok, but let’s start, and we have a 24/7 title defense. Last week, Vin Quade made his debut and promised to win the belt off Monolith’s hands. Let’s see.

24/7 Championship

Megalith (c) vs Vin Quade

Vin Quade enters with the performance of the Siva Tau joined by Pacific Islands Dancers. He enters energetic and tries to take down the larger Megalith, with quick strikes and good ropework. Megalith resists and then shouldertackles the newcomer. He then applies a chockeslam. Goes for a cover, 1, 2, Quade kicks out. Monolith persists with some powerful chops, then an inverted atomic drop. Cover, Vin Quade kicks out again. Megalith wants to finish it, he grabs Quade, goes for his finisher, the Standing Stone, but Quade escapes the grip of the Champion, and connects with a standing dropkick, then a running bulldog. He hits with his finisher, a modified Jumping DDT, he calls it Thunder Down Under. Cover, 1, 2, Megaith kicks out.

The match goes on for some time after that, with Megalith getting tired and Quade getting more hurt, but neither can put the other away. Suddenly… the lights dim and then flash on and off for a few seconds. The Fiend’s evil laughter echoes the arena. When the lights resume:

Mojo Macabre is in the ring. He lariats both competitors he then picks up Monolith gutwrench and applies a Facebuster. Quade crossbodies the invader, but is caught, and thrown off the ring. Mojo kisses Monolith’s forehead performs the Beyond the Doors, cover, 1, 2, 3. Mojo Macabre stole this win, and stole the spotlight from Quade on his in-ring debut.

Carlito knock on Kurt Angle’s HeadQuarter’s Door. He enters

Carlito – Hey Kurt, I’m dead serious about this. See, I didn’t even bring an apple. I’m all business. I demand a rematch for my familia. See, my familia lost even though none of them was driven through a table. I was, both times. And I’m the manager. I’m not part of the team. So, technically they weren’t defeated.

K. Angle – I admit you do have a point there. I’d have to talk to the champs, but I see this happening (Carlito thanks him, and he leaves; Miz and Morrison enter)

Miz – Mr. Commanding Officer, Sir, we want a tag title match. We deserve it. We are the top team in your roster, it makes sense that we be the Tag Champs, once again.

Morrison – Plus, you know you owe us that shot. See awhile back you striped us of the belts. And I admit we were pissed, but we understand, you have to make decisions, so we don’t hold a grudge, but man, Sir, you owe us a shot.

K. Angle – Well, you do make some great points. I reckon you do deser… (Kofi and Woods barge in as well).. Oh let me guess, you guys also want a tag title shot?

Kofi – I obsessed about the titles in the recent past and overlook the wellbeing of my friends, so no, what we want is to make these clowns pay for the part they had in injuring Big E, so “gentlemen” we’re heading out to the ring right now, care to join us?

Xavier – So Kurt, you have two choices right now: you either make the match official, or we beat these asshats in other, unsanctioned, circumstances. (They leave).

M. Cole – And we’re back and it looks like General Manager Kurt Angle has made it official, as the New Day are already in the ring and now Miz and Morrison are making their entrance.

Paige – I think Kofi and Xavier are just diverting attentions and playing the sympathy card. They want the tag titles as bad as Miz and Morrison, they are not interested in avenging Big E. That is a façade.

New Day vs Miz and Morrison

Xavier and Miz start the bout, Miz is energetic, trying to prove they’re championship material, he applies a fujiwara armbar for some time, taunting Woods. Woods, reverses into a side headlock, then applies a DDT. The crowd is behind them and they yell Big E’s name. This pumps up the New Day, who dominate the match throughout the various tags they make. Morrison eventually counters with a some well put Calf kicks, a spear, then a Flying Chuck kick. Cover, 1, 2, Kofi kicks out. As he gets up, Miz enters illegally and big boots Kofi in the face. Xavier is furious at the referee, and Miz. As the referee expels the Miz from the ring, Xavier grabs him outside, and punishes him, driving him through the steel steps, and continuing the beating.

On the ring, Morrison is getting the upper hand against Kofi. But he stops the offense as he sees his partner getting beat up. The momentaneous distraction is capitalized by Kofi, and he delivers a standing dropkick, then a twisting crossbody. On the outside, Xavier puts the Miz on top of the commentary table and goes for the top rope. At the same time, Kofi climbs the opposite ring post. Diving backslpash Plancha in the inside; Frogsplash in the outside crashing through the table. Cover, 1, 2, 3. The New Day complete their avenging.

M. Cole – And we’re back, Nikki Cross is already in the ring, backed up by our colleague, Corey Graves. What’s your take on all this, Paige?

Paige – I think Paige is just plain crazy. Like all Scots. They drink a ton of whiskey, since day one, and they turn out…well. Like that

M. Cole – Well, I’m sure that opinion with land you in a lot of trouble on the internet, so I’ll just move on.

Paige – Trouble, Michael? A lot of trouble is having to share a country with those insane drunkards!

Oblivious to Paige’s comments, Nikki picks up a mic:

Nikki – Cuory ‘as adveized mei to enterview the last blounde in the rouster before I proceed with beating Tênara into a polp. Bot Nattie is stell off weith einjury, so I ‘av’ to cundoct thes enterveiw via Skoype. Cuorey, mêk the coll, pleise. (Corey dials Nattie Hart’s number she picks up, from her home in Canada)

Nattie – What’s this? I’m watching the program and I can’t believe it. Why would Nikki even suspect me? I’ve been injured ever since that hagfish Sasha Banks purposely injured me on Money in the Bank, robbing me of a certain victory. So, no, I’ve been in searing pain in the last few months, I had no time nor health to go to a SmackDown show and beat up Alexa for no reason at all. This is nonsense. I’m shutting this down (she turns the call off)

Nikki – Well, I toeld ye Cuory, I ‘av’ the roight blounde. It was Tênara. Bring that snêke in, I wont toe bash her skoll on the greund. (she enters, with Eh Nois)

T. Conti – Nikkinha, Nikkinha, I aureadji told you I didn’t beat Alexa. And I have proof, I was at a Rodizio Restaurant that same night, in Florida, and I have the pictures and the receipts to prove it. However, at this point I don’t care, I just want to slap your bunda around!

Nikki Cross starts the match unfocused; maybe this newfound proof has shattered her certainties about Taynara’s culpability. Taynara dominates with several judo-like holds. She then hits with a double foot stomp, then she pins her in a corner, and slaps Nikki around with fury. Nikki appears to be out of her game, and cannot mount a defense. Tay Conti sees this is going well for her, and gets cocky, parading around in the ring, basking in the heat she’s getting. She goes as far as ordering Arturo and Cezar to threaten some more unruly fans in the front row. Nikki sketches up a resistance, but is completely off her game and as she goes for the spear of Scotland she catastrophically hits the ring pole.

On commentary Paige feels vindicated “See, she is clearly drunk on whiskey, Cole!”, to which he retorts “What are you talking about? She’s disturbed because of this new evidence that clears Tay Conti, she is not motivated to this match as she was before that”. Nikki is spent, and hurting, Tay Conti applies a swinging sideslam, then a front facelock. Nikki resists for some time, Corey spurs her on, but he is threatened by Arturo and Cezar, and cowers. Nikki has nothing left, she taps out. The Brazilian Trio then beat her up profusely. Corey enters the ring to defend her, but is beat up as well. Referees and security have to come down and separate them.

M. Cole – And we’re back, for another women’s division match. Candice and Deonna decided to tag up. They call themselves the Virtuous Insurgent Pixies, the VIP. They face the KickStarters. Paige, any thoughts?

Paige – Cole, who comes up with these names for these teams? A stupid person, no doubt.

M. Cole – And the match?

Paige – I couldn’t care less. I think I’ll take a break right now and have my make-up retouched.

 KickStarters vs Virtuous Insurgent Pixies

Raquel and Deonna start the match. Deonna plays a very intelligent match, performing a ever increasing set of different holds, that cripple the bigger Gonzalez’s limbs, thus preventing her from taking advantage of her superior strength. Deonna eventually locks her in a raging fujiwara armbar, this could be over right now, but Dakota intercedes and breaks the hold. Dakota and Candice tag in, they have a lengthy and yet quick paced match, with loads of strikes. Dakotas gains the upper hand, then performs a Facewash, topped by a Scorpion Kick, and a Kainadian Destroyer. Cover, 1, 2, Deonna interrupts the count.

Candice emerges from that near fall reinvigorated and dominates the next couple of minutes of the match, finalizing her offense with a step up senton, she then goes for the top rope and connects with a LeRae Wild Ride. Cover, 1, 2, 3. The VIP pick up the first win in their first match together. Can they launch themselves in a title pursuit?

We’re at the STUDS Lounge. They are chilling, having a party. Miz and Morrison are nursing their sores. Suddenly Braun Strowman barges in.

Ziggler – This is a private party. No ugly people allowed. Turn away please (turns to Titus) I told you we should have a doorman.

Braun – I’m here to have a “talk” with Lashley. And I talk with my fists. Now I know Lashley is a coward who lets others fight his fights, and speak his lines, so I’ ready to face you all. I don’t care. You can beat me, but if I get some of you before I go down, I’ll be quenched.

The inevitable occurs, a brawl ensues, Strowman at first handles the 5 of them, but then he begins to lose ground. In no time the five STUDS are beating the Monster down. Suddenly…

Goldberg and the Gronk barge in, they take the STUDS by surprise, Goldberg immediately Spears Titus who stays grounded. Miz bolts off right away, so a 3-on-3 brawl ensues. Braun and allies take the upper hand. Strowman and the Champion clash, after a while Strowman manages to hit Lashley with a running powerbomb right on the cocktail table. They stand victorious, the lounge is trashed. Goldberg extends his hand towards Strowman and asks “And now? Will you join us?”. Braun shakes his hand and replies “Yes!"  He turns to the downed Lashley and says ""At SummerSlam you gonna GET THIS HANDS!

M. Cole – Oh wow, what a power shit we can witness here at SmackDown, Paige! Braun, the Gronk and Goldberg can prove an irresistible force.

Paige – I just think is lamentable that those grunts without manners should thrash such a classy Lounge. I’ve been there earlier to have a daiquiri and it is a splendid place. Well… It was…

M. Cole – Speaking of the World Championship, Cena is entering to hold is open challenge. Paige what do you think of this new Cena?

Paige – It’s amazing, really. An even better version, an improvement from that bland squeaky-clean Johnny Two-Shoes. This is the Ultimate Cena. And he’s hotter still, innit? Is he single?

(Abadoooo, followed by the original nWo music sounds, nWo John Cena enters)

Cena – The CHAMP IS HERE! Who’s gonna step to the open challenge? Who wants to be the Champ?

Heath Slater comes up

Slater – Cena, I’m sick and tired of this crap. I was a victim of the Golden Shovel back in the day. Myself and the rest of the Nexus, and I won’t suffer you any longer burying new talent once again!

Cena – Nexus? What’s that? A cleaning product? I know nothing on that matter. But young man – actually, not so young… - please, step in the ring. Ref ring the bell!

nWo World Heavyweight Championship

nWo John Cena (c) vs Heath Slater

Slater goes after Cena with a several chops, and DDT, he covers, bit is too soon, Cena is fresh and just picks Slater up, gets to his feet Press Slams him to the ground. Cena laughs. He goes off the ring and grabs his golden shovel. The referee stops him, they struggle over the shovel for a while, Cena, cunningly, releases the Shovel which causes the tool to hit the ref’s head as he was pulling it towards himself. The referee is knocked out. Cena realizes he has free reign, he grabs the Shovel, hoists it up, but Heath anticipates it, and hits with a Jumping Sleeper Slam. He gets a hold of the Shovel. Ponders. The crowd says “Yes! Yes!”, Slater, gets the queue and hits Cena repeatedly with the shovel, 1, 2, 5, 10, 15, strikes, Cena is in pain. Suddenly, the referee gets up and catches Slater on the act. He disqualifies him. He says Cena has been doing it forever, but the referee has none of it. The match is over, Cena retains “his title”.

M. Cole - And we’re back, and we have the new Tag Champions, the Kabuki Warriors defending their gold, for the first time.

Paige – Yeah, it’s a sort of reenactment of Smackville, as the Blonde Bombshells and the SmackDivas get a new title shot. A waste of time, if you ask me.

M. Cole – Speaking of championships, Paige, back in the day you famously “invaded” Raw as a NXT Champ to challenge for the Divas Champion. Now, the champion of SmackDown is saying she’s keen on going to NXT to challenge for their title, do you reckon this is the sign of the evolutionary path of NXT, establishing themselves as Brand in parity with the other?

Paige – Of course Michael, and it all started with me coming to that stage challenging for the “big girls” title. From that moment I put NXT on the map, I started that evolutionary path you speak of.

M. Cole – And Paige, what to you say to people that say you could win the SmackDown women’s championship if you were medically cleared to do so?

Paige – I say they’re right. It’s obvious. But this damn neck…Actually, my neck has no fault, that blue-haired butcher is at fault.

Kabuki Warriors (c) vs Blonde Bombshells vs SmackDivas

Both set of challengers enters, yet the Champions are nowhere to be found. The camera cuts to the back where Asuka and Kairi are yelling gibberish. Apparently, they don’t accept the match. Asuka shouts in broken English “They no deserving title match”. GM Kurt Angle has to intervene. He meets with the champs he convinces the to fight. They enter the stage, in an unhappy and sluggish demeanor, the match starts, with Carmella, Maryse and Asuka. But the champ stays in a corner chatting with her teammate, while the challengers go at each other. Pretty much all throughout the match the champs are inactive and evading the fray, only interrupting the pinning attempts by either challenging team. The crowd boos them. Cole chastises this behavior by the champs, but Paige backs them up, and pretends to fall asleep whenever the camera is focusing the challengers fighting.

After a while, under a barrage of boos, Asuka and Kairi respond to the audience with dislike and then they seem to abandon the match. On commentary Cole points out the insanity of this, because the champs don’t have to be beaten to lose the belts. They stroll slowly down the ramp, in the ring, Dana is able to connect with a spine buster to the legal Maryse, then another one to the invading Lana, she’s poised to take the gold, cover, 1,2 out of nowhere Kairi and Asuka enter the ring, interrupt the count, double team Dana, the legal Asuka applies a falling neckbreaker. Kairi crossbodies Carmella off the apron, she’s tag in, climbs the top rope, Insane Elbow ring on the chest of Dana, cover, 1, 2, 3. The champs retains. They stroll off, laughing, mocking the other and uttering “Not Deserving! Wo told! Not Deserving. Ah ah Ah”. The crowd is really upset with the champs.

Back to the show, the stage is all redone to befit the Liturgy’s Temple, as the several cloaked cult-members of the Liturgy are assembled. Seth Rollins angelical theme comes up, he enters with his disciples.

Seth Rollins – My faithful, thank you for being here, for showing the faith in the Messiah, and to bare witness to the word of Truth about that (RTruth’s music comes up, he enters singing his theme)

RTruth – Yo, Seth, you called? Hey, what’s this? Did someone die? (he approaches an unnamed cult member and asks) Whose Eulogy is this?

Seth Rollins (infuriated) – GET OUT! HOW DARE YOU TO INTERRUPT THE HOMILY!?

RTruth – The Homie? What Homie? Which homie died? Was it Tyrel? DaShawn? No, don’t tell me it was Duquan? Man, not Duquan, he was my Homie. Duquan!!!! No!!!

Seth Rollins – No one died…yet. Akam, Rezar, get him out of here, drag him. And then punish him, Gently. (they drag RTruth out, who stills cries out for the “deceased” Duquan). Where was I? Oh right. My faithful, we are gathered here to speak of the evils of the one who is called Big Dog, Roman Reigns. He who presents himself as a golden boy, But the Messiah knows better. The Messiah knows that is a mere façade he puts. I know him from the past. And I tell you, he was the evil mind behind the wickedness of the Shield. A Taynara a ganhar a Nikki é nice. Assim é que constrois novas estrelas, com estas vitórias contra as "minor stars", não é logo a vencerem a Asuka. E espero que o Corey não volte a lutar, não era muito realista depois dele se ter retirado da forma que foi.

A Deonna e a Candice fazem uma tag team engraçada mas acho que mais tarde ou mais cedo vais pushar a Deonna como singles. Btw, a Candice não vai andar atrás do Gargano? Até acho uma boa ideia porque talento in ring é coisa que não lhe falta e ser só uma vallet é estupido.

Golberg, Gronk e Braun? Espero que isso não seja uma equipa, o Braun não merece. E eu nem sou fã dele.

A referência aos Nexus, o Slater usar a shovel no Cena, nice.

As Kabuki só foram mais espertas que as outras. Vindo do Cole não me admirava que ele esteja chateado agora a crowd assobia porque? Fazem o que têm a fazer para continuarem campeãs.

Acho que estás a read into it em demasia nesta vitória da Tay. Ganha pq a Nikki estava desconcentrada. Quanto a minor stars a vencerem a Asuka, isso ainda não aconteceu. Foi a Lacey. Goste-se ou não ela irl andava na title picture quase em permanencia quando pegámos nisto. Nao era ua rookie a sair do NXT. Não é uma excelsa estrela, mas tirando as 4 horsewomen, e as japonesas, aparece logo no patamar a seguir.

Que hipoteses tem ele (que hipoteses tem quem quer que seja) de alcançar o Universal Title sózinho? é que Lashley tem uma stable de 5 individuos, todos gajos capazes (dentro dos seus respectivos patamares competitivos, bem entendido), e o que pode fazer o Braun sozinho? Levar porrada deles? Ser lesionado no dia anterior como o Big E? Os STUDS terem o Univ Championship cativo vai ser um catalizador para gajos que são lone wolves e quê, olharem para o lado e dizerem "epá, eu se poder ter ajuda...". E sempre é uma maneira de o plantel ir aparecendo.

Foi só porque no final não disseste and Mojo is the new champion, e eu fiquei na duvida.

Em relação as vitórias por roll up, são estupidas mesmo que não sejam grandalhões envolvidos. Parece que saíram todos da wrestling school ontem e ninguém se sabe safar disso.

Nope. Ember Moon, Candice, até a Deonna. Tudo pessoal com mais talento que a Lacey.

Seja qual for o motivo da vitória da Taynara é bom para ela. A Nikki já é uma gaja estabelecida e pode ser que assim se olhe com outros olhos para ela. Eu não sou o maior fã mas consigo perceber que ela tem um moveset diferenciado de todas as outras e traz algo de diferente a divisão feminina.
