Assim que o combate começa Grimes tenta o Cave In mas Riddle consegue desviar-se a tempo. Riddle acerta com alguns pontapés no peito de Grimes, vai até as cordas mas quando volta é atingido por um Dropkick de Grimes que fica com o controlo do combate com várias rest holds.
Riddle consegue recuperar e vai de novo até as cordas mas desta vez é atingido por uma Spanish Fly! 1 2.. Riddle consegue safar-se. Grimes tenta mais uma vez o Cave In mas Riddle apanha-o no ar e acerta com um Powerbomb para uma contagem de 2.
Riddle ataca com pontapés e um Enzeguiri em Grimes que se levanta e acerta com um Big Boot! No entanto não tem grande efeito em Riddle que executa imediatamente um Suplex em Grimes. Sobe até ao canto, acerta com o Flying Bro, levanta Grimes e acerta com o Bro to Sleep! 1 2 3! Riddle vence Cameron Grimes e ainda é o number one contender para o North American Championship.

Enquanto Riddle festeja Damien Priest corre até ao ringue para atacar Riddle mas este acerta-lhe com uma joelhada na cara e Priest sai do ringue. Nas costas de Riddle aparece Pete Dunne que tenta um Suplex mas Riddle consegue evitar enviando depois Dunne para fora do ringue e este cai em cima de Priest que estava no exterior.

De repente ouve-se um barulho de vários objetos a cair vindo do exterior. O cameraman corre para o exterior onde vemos Keith Lee e Dijakovic a lutarem.

 

Vários árbitros tentam separa-los e no meio da confusão Dijakovic atira com um caixote do lixo contra Keith Lee. Enquanto Lee tenta recuperar Dijakovic aproveita para atirar Keith Lee contra um dos carros que estava por perto fazendo com que Keith Lee parta o vidro do carro e comece a sangrar.

Rhea Ripley faz uso da sua força para ir dominando no inicio do combate mas a experiência de Mercedes vem ao de cima quando contra ataca uma Powerbomb de Ripley e a transforma num DDT.
Martinez não quer perder tempo e acerta com um Brainbuster para um contagem de 2. Martinez vai dominando o combate devido a sua experiência nunca deixando que Rhea consiga acertar mais do que um move.
Mercedes tenta uma versão do Camel Clutch mas Rhea levanta-se com Mercedes nos seus ombros e acerta com uma Eletric Chair! 1 2.. Martinez consegue-se safar.
Rhea levanta Mercedes e desta vez tenta o Rip Tide mas mais uma vez Mercedes contra ataca com um DDT. Com Rhea Ripley no chão Martinez aplica o Surfboard Dragon Sleeper. Ripley não quer desistir mas aos poucos vai perdendo os sentidos até que aparece Charlotte por trás de Mercedes atacando-a com uma kendo stick. O arbitro acaba o combate por DQ.

Com Rhea quase inconsiente e Mercedes no chão Charlotte aplica o Figure Eight até que Rhea se levanta obrigando Charlotte a largar a manobra e a fugir do ringue.

 

Vemos Velveteen Dream no backstage a aquecer para o seu tag team match quando Jordan Devlin se aproxima dele.

De repente aparece Finn Balor e os dois começam a atacar Velveteen Dream até ele ficar inconsciente no chão.

Inicio forte da equipa de Swerve e Rush que vai isolando Devlin no seu canto com tags frequentes sem dar espaço a Devlin para respirar. Eventualmente Devlin consegue chegar ao seu canto para deixar Balor entrar no combate.
Domínio agora de Balor e Devlin com vários double team moves e tags frequentes sem dar hipóteses a Lio Rush de chegar ao canto e deixar Swerve entrar.
Devlin tenta um suplex em Rush mas este cai de pé e faz o tag com Swerve que entra no ringue cheio de energia atacando Devlin com vários pontapés. Swerve acerta com um Dropkick que manda Devlin para o seu canto e agora é Balor que entra no ringue e rapidamente ganha o domínio depois de acertar com a Sling Blade.
Finn Balor vai dominando até que Swerve acerta com um Superkick. Tag com Lio Rush que acerta em Finn com vários pontapés. Sem muito efeito já que Finn facilmente acerta com um Shotgun Dropkick deixando Lio Rush no chão.
Finn sobe até ao canto para tentar o Coupe de Grâce mas de repente.. Theme do Velveteen Dream. Finn Balor desce do canto, faz o tag com Devlin e sai do ringue para ficar na rampa à espera de Velveteen Dream.
Devlin vai chamando Finn que não se interessa muito já que está mais preocupado com Velveteen Dream.

Os campeões levantam-se rapidamente mas Shelley e Bate acertam um Suicide Dive em ambos fora do ringue.
Seven e Kushida ficam no ringue, Seven tenta uma Clothesline mas Kushida consegue reverter para um Armbreaker. Tyler Bate volta a entrar no ringue para quebrar a manobra e salvar o seu tag partner.
Fora do ringue Garza e Andrade recuperam e atiram Shelley contra os degraus do ringue eliminando-o momentaneamente do combate.
Dentro do ringue os Mustache Mountain vão aplicando double team moves em Kushida mas quando tentam o pin são Andrade e Garza que entram no ringue para salvarem o combate e os seus títulos.
Garza e Andrade acertam com um Double Dropkick em Tyler Bate, enviam Trent Seven contra o poste do ringue e focam-se em Kushida.

Corey – However, there’s a catch to this: if he loses, his contract is terminated and he has to look for employment elsewhere.

M. Cole – But also we have an important match in the woman’s division, as the former tag champs, Nikki and Alexa have a match with the KickStarters, and the winner will have a title shot. Sort of a rematch from BackLash.

Corey - But right now, on the ring, the Women’s World Champion, Sasha Banks.

Sasha – So, I have the Money in the Bank Briefcase; I have the SmackDown Women’s Champion; I have beaten pretty much every woman on the roster; the ones I haven’t beaten yet, it’s because they don’t even belong in my tier. So, there’s nothing else for me to do, really. I think the only thing that’s missing is converting this puppy (points to the briefcase) in to another title. Yeah. I’ll drop by at BattleGround. Nia and Becky better watch their backs. And afterwards, I think I should I take a sabbatical or something. Me and my Puppies (points to the belt) going to the Caribbean, take the summer off, relax since…

The title is not on the line, and Sasha, while looking relaxed, puts on a show in the first few minutes of the match, being younger, and more agile, bashing James at every turn, while always shouting taunts at Mickie. But she gets complacent and does not seek to win this quickly, rather enjoying punishing the legend. She braggingly hits a couple of lariats, then applies the Bank Statement, this could be over in a couple of minutes. Mickie resists, Sasha tightens the noose, Mickie appears to be fading. The ref raises her hand once; it falls abruptly; twice, the same result; thrice, Mickie finds a second wind, she closes her fist, gets energized, grabs and pulls her way to the bottom rope, the crowd spurs her on, she manages to break the hold. But she’s spent.

Sasha is also tired, as she had to put a lot in to maintaining that hold for so long. With both competitors tired, Sasha’s edge in agility and quickness is gone, so Mickie gets the upper hand. She connects with a Flapjack, followed by a kip-up, then a Dropkick to the ropes, on the rebound, she connects with an Implant DDT, she covers, 1,2, Sasha escapes. However, Mickie is unrelenting, she performs a Lou Thesz press, followed by multiple punches, goes to top rope does her Mickiecanrana, 1, 2, 3! The Champ got complacent and suffers a shocking defeat. What does this mean for the near future of the women’s division?

Corey – Speaking of number one contenders, now have a match for the “24/7 Championship number 1 contender’s tournament”.

M. Cole – In the ring, Heath Slater and Lars Sullivan is making his entrance. I think it’s a no brainer who’s gonna win this, Michael.

Lars Sullivan bashes Slater around with ease, but does not advance for the cover. He aims to prove he his a powerful monster, capable of inflicting serious pain to his opponents, so he spends some time delivering some wrecking suplexes to Slater.

He then goes for the top rope, the crowd stars laughing, taunting “You can’t fly; You can’t fly”, that really unnerves Lars. He shouts angrily at the fans, distracts himself, loses his footing on the ropes and catastrophically falls down on the mat. He appears to be out. Slater, manages to drag himself to apply the cover on the knocked-out Sullivan. 1,2,3. Sullivan continues his losing streak, always by performing top rope maneuvers.

Camera cuts to the back, the STUDS are all having a snack, prepping Lashley for his title defense later on.

All the sudden, Braun Strowman approaches.

Braun – Lashley, you are a disgrace for our industry! You had 13 years to became World Champ, and couldn’t, so you resorted to cheating. And not some little detail. You, cowardly, hid behind other 4 superstars to get my title on to your shoulder.

Ziggler – Oh wow, hold on big guy. It’s Lashley’s title now. Get over it.

Miz – Yeah. You’re just butthurt for losing, so you’re making excuses. So what? So Lashley has this awesome support network of Studs that all look great, go to runway models shows, pop bottles on the clubs, Stud-style

Morrison – While you can’t get any friends cause no one is willing to go to a spooky cabin in the woods in the middle of nowhere, with no running water nor electricity, or where ever the hell you hang put. Alone. (They all laugh. Braun maintains his composure.)

As he turns to leave (Lashley shouts “No, you’re the one that have to what your back”) and all 5 STUDS attack Braun from behind. Lashley hangs back, to spare himself for the title match later, but Miz, Morrison, Titus and Ziggler viciously attack Strowman. Braun at first manages some fightback, but succumbs eventually and is left laying there, seriously hurt.

The SmackDivas enter the stage:

Lana – Not so fast! If there’s an opportunity up for grabs for the tag titles we want a shot! We deserve a shot.

Maryse – Plus, GM Kurt Angle agrees, and he has made this match official just now.

Lana and Raquel start the match. Realizing Raquel is way bigger and stronger, Lana just runs for it. Dakota chases her on the outside of the rings, they go around a few times, until Maryse shoulder tackles Dakota to the ground. Dakota is floored and out. Lana and Maryse capitalize on it by doing a double team on Raquel Gonzalez. The referee frequently admonishes the SmackDivas on this, however they stop each time on the count of 5.

Raquel manages a counter, with a Bear hug, transitioned to a belly to belly suplex on Maryse. Lana jumps on her back before she can make a cover. Dakota finally recovers and climbs to the apron. However, Maryse capitalizes on this, picks up speed on the ropes and performs a standing dropkick on the belly of Raquel, who falls backwards, causing Lana to be projected against the ropes, right on top of Dakota who falls down again.

Raquel is once again alone. Dakota appears to have injured her knee. Lana and Maryse perform quick tags and wear down the giant. Lana performs a high cross body, but is caught by Raquel in midair who holds her over her head. Maryse, thinking quickly, goes for a drop toe hold, Raquel loses her footing, she falls on her back, Lana falls on top of her, the ref count, 1,2, 3. Lana and Maryse pull up an upset and gain a tag title shot!

M. Cole – We’re back, and we just got a message from GM Kurt Angle, he has made this match official, Asuka and Lacey, one on one!

Corey – Plus their partners, Liv and Kairi Sane join us on commentary.

Asuka vs Lacey Evans

Asuka and Lacey start the match fiery with powerful strikes being delivered by both of them. Asuka connects with a Standing STO, then a DDT, goes for the cover, 1, 2, Lacey escapes. Asuka insists with a saito suplex, then applies the Asuka Lock. Liv gets up from the table and goes to the ring side to motivate her partner not to give up. Kairi goes after her, and pushes her against the steel steps. It’s ugly. But she doesn’t stop here. She grabs the timekeeper’s bell and attacks Liv with it.

This coward attack however has the effect of giving a special motivation to Lacey, she grabs a rope, and then powers herself up, performs a side suplex, then a women’s Right on Asuka, but doesn’t go for the cover, instead goes outside the ring saving Liv. Crossbodies of the apron, flooring Kairi. Then she pushes her to the barricade and Kairi falls over towards the stands. She checks up on Liv. Asuka attacks Lacey from behind and drives her to the ring. Once there she gutchecks her, the pulls the switchblade kick on the back of her head. She then applies the Asuka Lock. Liv stands on the apron and spurs Lacey on. Asuka gets distracted and loosens the grip. Lacey escapes, as Asuka goes to the apron the have a word with Liv.

This creates the opportunity for Lacey to perform a surprise roll up, 1, 2, Asuka escapes, but as she gets up the Women’s Right gets her right in the face. Asuka goes down, a tooth is seen flying from Asuka’s mouth, as Lacey covers. Kairi however climbs the top rope, Insane elbow and the count is broken at 2. The ref threatens to disqualify Asuka, but Liv is already on the ring bashing Kairi. The ref tries to separate the two invaders, and Asuka capitalizes on the distraction, blows the Green Mist inf Lacey’s face, double dropkicks Lacey, covers, the ref catches on, 1, 2, 3. Asuka has won with her green mist.

The New Day theme song comes up. However, only Xavier Woods enters. He has a mic in his hand and call for Big E and Kofi Kingston to join him the ring. They do. The crowd likes seeing the New Day back together.

Xavier – My boys, I’ve been away for several months, and while I was gone, somethings have happened, between y’all.  Now I know you’ve reconciled and put those things behind, however that’s not enough. A weighty mood is noticeable in air and I’m looking to end it once and for all. I think you guys should talk frankly, like we always did, so the we can sort all this out. We have to deal with this, not just forget about it.

Kofi – You’re right Xavier. 100%. I start. Big E, Xavier, WWE Universe, I’d like to apologize for my behavior in the last few months (The crowd shouts “We forgive you”). Hold on, folks, let me finish. I did poison the Usos (a gasp is heard). I didn’t intend to. I only wanted to fed them too much carbs and sugar, I know, for them to be in that carb comma we all feel after eating a whole pizza, you know. But things went awry. I don’t know how, nor why, but hey, I’m a man, I take full responsibility for what happened to the Usos. Jimmy, Jey, I’m sorry.

Big E – Kofi, I also was not on top of my game, when it came to the team. I’ve embarked on a crusade against Seth Rollins’s The Larceny, and forgot to play it smart against him. I costed our team a crucial tag title opportunity, and it was really wrong on my behalf, even if I meant well.

Kofi – Hey, don’t sweat it. I feel like I’ve put too much pressure on you for us to get the tag straps. I’ve become obsessed with it, and I’ve put that extra pressure on to you. My fault as well.

They hug, the crowd loves it (“New! Day! Rocks!” they chant). They all share a prolonged hug and shed a tear or two. Kofi picks the mic back up.

Kofi – Now Big E, I have to ask you. Do you feel that you went a little “on your own”, because you’re looking for singles glory? (The crowd gasps, thinking “Wow, is Kofi going back on his word?”. Big E is also confused)

Kofi – Because if that’s the case, Biggie, I swear to you that I will not rest until you, my brother, are Universal Champion! (The crowd goes nuts!) You deserve it more than anyone in the whole WWE. (The crowd chants “You deserve it!”) And you guys, all of you actually, had my back last year when I made my push for that World Title shot. It’s only fair that I do the same for you. (They all hug, the crowd goes absolutely nuts!)

Miz vs Gargano

Miz goes all out in the first couple of minutes with several mounted punches, some Miz Kicks, and a spinning armbreaker. He covers, 1, 2 Johnny escapes. Miz continues his attack, with a backbreaker and a Spinebuster. He covers again, 1, 2, Gargano kicks out.

Gargano retreats to the corner, where Candice comforts him. Miz goes to deliver a big boot, Gargano moves, and Candice is hit. Miz is shocked and Gargano is enraged, Gargano strikes with some hanging soccer kicks, and a Running Hurricanrana, finalizing with a jumping Thesz Press. Covers, 1, 2, Miz puts a foot under the rope.

Gargano goes to check on his wife, and is attacked by Miz from behind, with a Back Suplex, not releasing the hold, Miz transitions to a cover, 1,2 Gargano kicks out. He goes for a tope suicida but Miz ducks, pulling the middle rope, so Gargano flies through the ropes colliding with the barricade with a bang. Candice checks on him. Miz goes after him, pushing him around to the barricade, and the steel steps. The Ref is counting them out. Miz interrupts the count, and exists the ring to continue is assault, but Johnny fights back. He connects with a Facebuster, then a spinning headlock elbow drop.Gargano drags Miz to the ring again, he connects with a Step Up Enzuigiri, Miz appears to be out, Gargano goes for the cover, 1, 2, but a arm pulls Gargano off Miz.

Its Maryse. She came to the aid of her husband. Kurt Angle has banished Morrison from the ring side, but has said nothing about Maryse. Gargano is incensed, he turns to confront Maryse, the ref is also there, trying to calm things up, but Miz goes for a low blow on the unsuspected Gargano. He goes for the cover, But Candice pulls Maryse’s legs from the apron, she falls, the ref is still distracted by this, so when he notices the cover by Miz, some time has already elapsed. 1,2 Gargano escapes. Miz is shocked.

On the outsider, Candice dispatches of Maryse, with a DDT on the concrete floor. Inside the ring, Miz launches himself for Gargano, he pulls a roll up kick to Miz’s face, then a Reverse Frankensteiner, transitioned right into a cover, 1,2,3. Gargano has won!

M. Cole – And we’re back for your main event of the evening. A Universal Championship match. Bobby Lashley goes one on one against the challenger, Sheamus.

Corey – Now a lot is riding on this match for Sheamus, cause if he does not win, he’s out a job, and must seek employment elsewhere.

M. Cole – It is also a Last Man Standing Match and remember, to lose, a contester needs to not be able to respond to the referee’s call of 10, and there are no disqualifications. So, I’d say Sheamus has a mountain of a task to surpass today, but if he does, he both keeps his job, and becomes Universal Champion!

Sheamus enters. Bobby Lashley comes in. Ziggler and Titus are with him but Ziggler grabs a mic.

Ziggler – Sheamus, I sympathize with your predicament, really. I mean, you’ve have been mistreated by the GM Kurt Angle, by special guest Sheriff Goldberg, frankly… I’m starting to think that in fact you’d be better off outside SmackDown. And that, my friend is a special favor that Bobby here will perform for you tonight.

Sheamus – Bring it on.

Ziggler – But Sheamus, so as you get a fair chance, myself, my associate Titus and all the other members of the STUDS won’t even be at ringside. No one of our faction is going to interfere. Good luck Sheamus. I mean, just look at Lashley, you’ll need it (they laugh and leave)

The match starts, Sheamus goes for a couple of chops but with no great effect, Lashley kicks him in the guts, connects with a spinning spinebuster, then locks in the LashLock, and shakes his arms profusely for some 20 seconds. He releases Sheamus and instructs the ref to begin the count. Sheamus is really out, and unsurprisingly the ref reaches the count of 10, Lashley wins, an astonishing win, Sheamus is out of a job.

Lashley celebrates in the ring for a while, he retreats to the back to celebrate with his STUDS.

M. Cole – Well, Corey that was way quicker than any of us anticipated and now he have…

Just as the commentators are saying their goodbyes when all the sudden, a figure emerges from the crowd, a man, wearing a hoodie, sunglasses, a baseball cap, and a face mask.

Corey – Wait, what’s happening? Who’s this??

The crowd goes extremely wild, chants erupt all around, the security guards have some trouble containing the crowd in the stands. CM Punk grabs a mic, and the pop is so intense that he can’t speak for some time. After some tries, he eventually manages it

CM Punk – Now, 9 years ago today, I sat up there (points to the entrance ramp) and dropped the infamous “Pipe Bomb”. Some say that wrestling was never the same after that. I agree. It isn’t. It’s even worse. Now you seeing me here today, may get the idea that something similar is going to happen. I know you’re expecting me to be some kind of Messiah and save you from bad wrestling. (He laughs) Screw that. I couldn’t give two shits on the state of pro wrestling today, simply because, I’m not a pro wrestler anymore.

(people are confused, but still cheering him on)

CM Punk - Now the business that brings me here tonight is far more important, but only to me. I’m here because two weeks ago, I was seating right there on the second row, at Birmingham, watching the SmackDown show, dressed in a manner not so different from today’s, you know, to maintain some anonymity, when all the sudden, security guards just grabbed me and pulled me off the arena, just because Carlito told them and WWE officials present at the arena that the apple he himself threw to the face of Rezar, was thrown by me. So what I really want is to know why. I want to confront Carlito about it. So I’ll be here next week. Carlito, I expect you’ll also be here.

Sim eu sei que a cena do CM Punk ia ser controversa. Mas acho que está de acordo com o seu carácter. Ele é um cinico, e o um critico, não seria expectaval que aparecesse para ser o "salvador da pátria" como muitos fanboys andam há anos a clamar. Isso não é ele.

Por isso não o quis introduzir para um entrada descomunal, ele aparecer como um salvador, a dar cabo de um heel chato. Isso é uma coisa há Hulk Hogan, à John Cena, e o CM Punk é um face complatamente diferente.

Ademais, ele não é um empregado da WWE. é da fox. E faz questão de frisar que não é um wreslter (como anda há anos a frisar irl). Acho que não faria sentido fazer deste seu regresso um acontecimento grandioso, com um feud logo à partida com um top guy, como o Universo WWE quereria, pq isso não é o que o CM Punk é. Sim, fiz isto propositadamente anti-climático. E nota-se até na reacção da crowd: começam todos histéricos ao ver que o CM Punk está de volta, ejaculação colectiva, ai que ele vai salvar-nos do mau wrestling, e ele, mesmo a cortar o climax diz, cínico que é: não, eu estou só aqui pq há duas semanas eu era o espectador que o Carlito acusou como sendo quem atirou a maçã. uma cena cínica.

O CM Punk não me parece ser gajo para querer reaparecer para ser o salvador da pátria que os fãs de wresting querem. há muito fã que se sente orfão de wrestling (ou de WWE) desde que ele que reformou. E ele tem sempre rejeitado esse papel, em todas as entrevistas que eu vi dele. Ou seja, ele não quer esse spot de salvador, essa entrada com estrondo, pq não te fé no wrestling.

Ora até aqui não estou a ainventar, é factual, é o que ele o diz.

Como reintorduzi-lo, então? Num segmento pequeno, só para quebrar o gelo (e leia-se "a má vontade que ele te para com a WWE"). Depois logo se vÊ. Evidentemente o CM Punk não vai voltar À WWE para ficar a feudar com o Carlito. Isto é só a desculpa para ele voltar, né.

Mas tb acho pertinente ele fazer o anti Pipe Bomb. Pq ele fez o Pipe Bomb e 2011, pediu isso que o Ruas frisou, mas não o levou, e por isso se pôs a andar do wrestlign, passando a, apareentemente, detestá-lo. Não fazia sentido ele voltar e denegar os ultimos 9 anos assim do nada, só pq o wishfull thinking de muitos fãs é o de "um dia D. Sebastião CM Punk vai voltar para nos salvar". Acho que era importante ele desde logo dizer "não contem comigo para tal gradiosa missão, estou cá apenas pq fui atingio pessoalmente numa situação".

 

 

Quanto às SmackDivas, epá não posso juntar duas performers (limitadas, eu sei) que têm alguma projecção (extra-ringue, eu sei tb) fazer uma tag nova, incluidas na mega stable heel do Campeão do Mundo, para as por a perder logo. Para isso, deixava-as a serem valets aos seus maridos, ora. Ademais, ganhara com tacticas heel, e lesionando ab initio a Dakota no joelho., ficando a Raquel sozinha. não me parece que seja não credivel.

Este domingo a WWE powered by KO Prizefighter, Ruas e IlidioMA vai apresentar o Battleground, PPV exclusivo da Raw, a partir do United Center em Chicago, Ilinois. Confira aqui os combates deste evento. 

 

The Geniuses © vs The Street Profits – WWE Raw Tag Team Championship Match 

Hawkins e Ryder conquistaram os títulos há 5 semanas, num 4-corners match frente à Heavy Machinery, Undisputed Era e os Street Profits, que eram os campeões na altura. E se já a forma como conquistaram os títulos nesse combate foi polémica (venceram com o pin a ser efetuado no colega de equipa, aproveitando essa falha nas regras) o que se seguiu a seguir foi ainda pior. Hawkins e Ryder auto-intitularam-se de génios, e desde então tiveram duas “defesas” dos títulos, a primeira frente à Lucha House Party, onde perderam propositadamente por count-out, e de seguida contra os Street Profits, onde foram deliberadamente desqualificados após um low blow. Tendo isso em conta, o General Manager Paul Wight decidiu marcar este combate e retirar a champions’ advantage, portanto se os Geniuses perderem o combate por desqualificação ou count-out, perderão os títulos.  

Irão os atuais campeões arranjar maneira de reter os títulos ou conseguirão os Street Profits, na cidade natal de Montez Ford, tornarem-se novamente campeões? 

 

Kevin Owens vs EC3 – Steel Pipe on a Pole Match

Quem atacou Kevin Owens? Era a pergunta que todos faziam desde 4 de maio, quando Owens foi misteriosamente atacado e não foi liberado para participar no Money in the Bank. Owens regressou algumas semanas depois, e teve em EC3 um inesperado aliado durante algumas semanas, tendo inclusivamente derrotado Sami Zayn e Cesaro num combate de tag team. Mas nessa mesma noite, o misterioso hacker revelou que tinha sido EC3 a atacar Owens com um tubo de aço. Desde então, Owens só quer retribuir o favor e espancar EC3 com um tubo de aço, e desafiou-o para um Steel Pipe on a Pole Match. 

Irá Owens ter a sua vingança, ou conseguirá EC3 continuar a surpreender tudo e todos e alcançar aqui uma importante vitória? 

 

Sami Zayn © vs Daniel Bryan – WWE Intercontinental Championship Match 

O desafiante ao título Intercontinental foi encontrado através de um torneio, onde Daniel Bryan venceu EC3, Shelton Benjamin e Roderick Strong. Sami Zayn não gostou do resultado do torneio, afirma que já venceu Daniel Bryan na Wrestlemania e que este é um combate que nem vale a pena ter. Daniel Bryan certamente discorda e tem agora mais uma oportunidade de voltar a ser campeão. Bryan contará com o apoio de Drew Gulak no ringside, para impedir interferências de Cesaro e Nakamura. 

Conseguirá Sami Zayn dar continuidade ao seu reinado ou teremos um novo campeão Intercontinental a partir de amanhã? 

 

Edge vs Roderick Strong 

Edge voltou determinado a ter os melhores combates possíveis e elevar a próxima geração de lutadores. Para este combate, Edge tinha escolhido lutar contra Ricochet, pois este tinha-o impressionado com a sua participação no Money in the Bank, mas os membros da Undisputed Era não gostaram e Adam Cole confrontou Edge várias vezes. Num combate 3 vs 3 no último Raw, Strong, Fish e O’Reilly lesionaram Ricochet, obrigando-o a ficar fora do Battleground. No entanto Edge disse que queria lutar na mesma, preferencialmente contra um membro da Undisputed Era para vingar o que tinham feito a Ricochet. Num vídeo publicado nas redes sociais, a Undisputed Era aceitou o desafio, e parecia que ia ser Adam Cole o adversário de Edge, mas acabou por ser Roderick Strong a “colocar-se” neste combate. 

Conseguirá o WWE Hall of Famer a vitória neste combate, ou será que o Messiah of the Backbreaker vai realmente mostrar que Edge já não tem lugar no ringue? 

 

Becky Lynch © vs Nia Jax – WWE Raw Women’s Championship Match 

Amanhã será o 448º dia do reinado de Becky Lynch, ao longo de mais de um ano Becky tem vencido todas as desafiantes que se lhe atravessam no caminho, quem é a próxima? Nia Jax. A mulher que há quase dois anos partiu a cara da atual campeã venceu uma Battle Royal para conseguir um combate pelo título e agora promete acabar com o lendário reinado de Becky, que segundo Nia, se deve apenas a ela. Segundo Nia, Becky apenas esteve no main event da Wrestlemania e se tornou no que é hoje devido àquela noite em que lhe partiu a cara. Agora, Nia promete fazer o mesmo e tirar o título a Becky, mas a campeã garante que não há nada que Nia possa fazer para a vencer. 

Irá Becky continuar o seu reinado histórico ou chegará ao fim amanhã perante a imponente Nia Jax? 

 

Drew McIntyre © vs Randy Orton – WWE Championship Match 

No main event, Drew McIntyre irá defender o WWE title frente ao 13-time world champion Randy Orton. Orton regressou há um mês e mostrou logo quais eram as suas intenções ao atacar Drew McIntyre depois de este ter defendido o seu título contra Cesaro. Após uma vitória num tag team match frente a Drew e Edge, Orton garantiu este combate pelo título no Battleground e prometeu tirar Drew do lugar que, segundo ele, Drew não merece estar. Já Drew, que desde que venceu Lesnar na Wrestlemania já conseguiu defender o título contra Seth Rollins, Bobby Lashley e Cesaro, promete agora levar Orton a Claymore Country. Um último factor a ter em conta é o Mr. Money in the Bank Samoa Joe, que tem estado na mesa de comentários sempre que Drew tem um combate, e no último Raw sofreu um RKO de Orton, pelo que certamente não está satisfeito e quererá ter algo a dizer neste combate. 

Chegará Randy Orton ao seu 14º título mundial ou irá Drew McIntyre conseguir ultrapassar mais este obstáculo? Seja qual for o desfecho, será que algum deles sai mesmo do Battleground como WWE Champion, ou irá Samoa Joe fazer o cash in e chegar finalmente ao topo? 

 

 

Numa nota nas redes sociais, o General Manager Paul Wight garantiu ter grandes expectativas para este evento, que é o primeiro PPV exclusivo da Raw desde que ele assumiu o controlo.

Não gosto muito de filler feuds onde é assim tão óbvio quem vai ganhar. Fiz o Drew vs Cesaro mas este sempre tinha o Sami e o Nakamura que equilibravam as coisas. O EC3 pode ser bom para o IC, para o world title ainda é cedo. 

 

O Joe é aquele face em quem não se pode confiar. Quando o Orton voltou ele já teve hipótese de fazer o cash in, mas disse ao Drew que não o ia fazer assim por respeito, já que o Drew o ajudou contra o grupo do Rollins (não esquecer que basicamente atropelaram o Joe) mas que depois disso estavam quites. 

E o Joe não quer fazer as coisas pelas costas, por isso é que tem sempre estado na mesa de comentadores em todos os combates do Drew. 

 

Btw, posto o kick off à meia noite e o show um pouco depois, que se calhar amanhã não vou conseguir fazer isso.
