M. Cole – Welcome to Friday Night SmackDown, live on FOX, we’re on the aftermath of Summer Slam, at Montreal, where a plethora of things have happened. To speak of such things and its future consequences, and back by popular demand, I’m joined by both Paige and Beth Phoenix,

B. Phoenix – So good to be back, Michael, and I’m so excited about this program.

Paige – Yeah…I don’t understand what I’m doing here, again, least of all in this cold and damp weather in the Pacific Northwest, it’s spoiling my roots, Cole! This is 1000-dollar hairdo!

M. Cole – Well….Paige I understand Corey Graves is otherwise engaged, away on mission, but more on that later on, right now we have the 24/7 Title Match, and the Challenger, Vin Quade is already making his entrance.

Vin Quade enters with the performance of the Siva Tau joined by Pacific Islands Dancers. He enters energetic and tries to take down the larger Mojo, with quick strikes and good ropework. He applies a jumping DDT, covers, 1, 2, Mojo kicks out. Quade insists with a springboard neckbreaker, but Mojo counters with a fallaway slam. He shouldertackles the challenger, then applies a deadlift powerbomb. He then tries to go right away for his “Beyond the Doors” finisher. But...

A solemn song comes up, RTruth enters, dressed in black, with a funerary procession, all sporting the “Justice for Duquan” tshirt:

RTruth – I have to interrupt this match, because Duquan contacted me from beyond the grave to tell me winning the 24/7 7/11 I95 50 cent title is the way to honor is memory! So I have to be added to the…

Before he can finish the sentence, Megalith has entered and applies a big boot to RTruth, and steps up to the apron. The referee warns him not to interfere but Mojo goes on the apron to confront the invader and headbutts him off to the ground. Seizing his chance, Vin Quade dropkicks Mojo, he then applies a tilt-a-whirl jumping DDT, his Thunder Down Under finisher, cover, 1, 2, 3! Vin Quade, The Samoan Ghost has won the 24/7 Championship!

M. Cole – And now I’m told John Cena would host is traditional open Challenge, but we’re waiting for some time and so far…

Tony Nese’s theme plays, he enters sided by Heath Slater and Elias, they enter the ring, Tony Nese grabs a mic:

T. Nese – John Cena! You get your ass down here! I gave you a shot at my spot at the Cruiserweight Ladder Match at SummerSlam, you owe me a shot at that “title”. Don’t be frightened, Heath and Elias are just here to guarantee the legality on the match. Your matches tend to..let’s say, tend to spiral out of the referee’s control, of late.

On Commentary Paige asks “If that title isn’t official why would this youngster want it?” to which Cole retorts “Well Paige, the ‘title’ may be unimportant, but beating John Cena could catapult a wrestler to other levels”.

The trio waits on the ring, Suddenly nWo John Cena’s theme comes up, but he’s nowhere to be seen. However he sneaks up from behind, hoisting his infamous Golden Shovel, he enters the ring, unbeknownst to Elias, Slater and Nese and starts bashing them with his tool. Once he has provoked enough damages to them he asks for a mic:

nWo John Cena – Now I’m ready. Bring a referee onwards, let’s get another successful title defense to John Cena’s resumé, brother!

However, it’s not a referee that comes up, but rather Jeff Hardy. The crowd pops!

Hardy – John! I grew tired of all these shenanigans. I don’t know what happened to you at WrestleMania man, but this distorted version of the John Cena we all knew and loved, that holds rigged so-called open Challenges for a retired title, I mean, what gives?

nWo John Cena – So…you want a match? You had these three buddies of yours tire e down a bit so you could swoop in at the hand and have an easy match?

Hardy – John, wtf are you talking about. You were the one who attacked them from behind with a goddam shovel man.

All this talk has provided the chance to Elias, Slater and Nese to recover, they get up and gang up on Cena, who has little chance to fend them off. After a while, Cena shakes them off and bolts away with the belt. When he’s on the stage entrance, safe and sound, he grabs a mic:

nWo John Cena – That’s it! The Open Challenge is over! Forever! John Cena, brother, wanted to gift these schmucks with a title defense every week, but if it is to be ganged up like this by tricky wrestlers, brother, then this is the end of that!

He leaves under a thunderstorm of boos. Nese, Elias, Slater and Jeff stay in the ring and congratulate each other

M. Cole – And we’re back, earlier tonight I told you Corey Graves couldn’t be here today, because he’s otherwise engaged. We’ll now show you exactly what he’s doing

A videotape is played with Corey Graves landing in Edinburgh, Scotland, he exits the airport, it’s raining, he goes to a streetfood cart to grab something to eat, and they shopkeeper only serves to delicacies: deep-fried mars bars and deep-fried Pizza. He settles for a Fried mars bars, eats it and utters “I thought we in America ate some unhealthy crap, but this is something else!”. He then catches a train to Glasgow. He arrives, it rains there as well. He gets into a cab but has some trouble understanding the taxi driver who speaks with a thick accent. He gets off the cab and decides to catch the Underground. He arrives at a house, knocks on the door, a middle-aged lady answers and says “Oh its ye. She’s en her rhoom. Coume on en, Coery. She hasn’t left her rhoom in dês. Pleyse help her owt!”. Corey knock on a door “Go awê” is listened from the inside. Corey insists “I saed go awê!” the door opens, it’s Nikki Cross.

Nikki – Oh, it’s ye. I tould ye not to coume Coery. I went to be left aloune.

Corey – Nikki you’ve been in this slumber for two weeks! You left your jobs, your friends, you quit training you’ve (he glances around and sees a lot of empty junk food packages lying on the floor) clearly been eating nothing but junk. Nikki we’re worried about you. Your mother is worried sick!

Nikki – Oh ye talk abaut frends?? What frends? What frends do I hav’? Elexa? I saw ferst hend what koind of frend she is! Go awê Coery. I’m not goin. Ye’ve wêsted yer toime.

Corey – Nicky, I flew 15.000 miles, I arrived, got wet over a hundred times, ate a godforsaken fried chocolate that incremented my cholesterol by a 1000 points, saw a guy getting stabbed in the Subway to get to here, so you’re coming with me back to America, whether you want to or not. (the segment ends)

M. Cole – Well there you go, ladies and gentlemen, Corey flew himself to Scotland to get our Nikki back.

B. Phoenix – Poor Nikki. She’s going through a lot right now. I hope she recovers and gets back to SmackDown in no time.

Paige – Yadda, yadda. She doesn’t want to be a wrestler? Good riddance. Does she prefer staying in backwater Scotland, getting rain on her face every day, eating that greasy crap they all eat up there, getting drunk on Ballantines like a proper Scot? Good riddance. Let her rot up there!

M. Cole – Well…that is a little excessive, Paige. But speaking of Nikki, her former partner, and the main cause of her current depressive state, Alexa Bliss is entering, maybe she wants to address what we just saw. Make things right.

Paige – Keep dreaming Cole. I bet you she doesn’t give a rat’s ass about Nikki.

Paige is right. Alexa picks up a mic:

Alexa – Yeah, I’m not even bothering in mentioning the slob that used to be my partner. I’m here to talk about Alexa Bliss. And Alexa Bliss is ready to get her career back on track, back to the top of the women’s division, and remind each and every one of you suckers out there just why I am the best female wrestler of the last 10 years! So, if anyone in the locker room thinks she can beat the Best, step up!

The SmackDivas tune plays, Lana and Maryse enter.

Lana – See Alexa, we have a very important match next week for the Tag Team tournament, and we feel we can have some match exercise. 2-1, what you say?

Alexa – If it is two consecutive 1-on-1 matches, I’m in. Or are you afraid to fend off on your own?

Alexa Bliss vs Maryse

Maryse tries some moves that prove ineffective, but Alexa leg sweeps her and then hits with a couple arm stomps. As Lana comes to her partner rescue, Alexa hits her with a Tilt-a-whirl headscissors takedown, that puts Lana out of commission. Maryse applies a French Kiss, cover, 1, 2, Alexa kicks out and is enraged, she applies a Thesz Press, then a series of Blissful Curb Stomps, after which she applies the Crucifix Pin, 1, 2, 3. Alexa wins the first match with ease.

After a few seconds to Alexa regain her breath the bell rings again and the second match against Lana, who starts the match with a Snap Suplex, trying to immediately capture the win and avenge her partner’s loss, 1, Alexas kicks out immediately and, enraged delivers a series of hair pull mat slams. Maryse protests this illegality to the referee, but Alexa continues with a cross armbreaker. Lana is ready to tap out, Maryse enters, interrupts the hold, but Alexa hits her with a Blissful DDT. Lana gets up but is met with a Blissful DDT of her own. Cover, 1, 2, 3. Alexa Bliss has a stunning return to singles competition with two consecutive wins.

M. Cole – We now have the second match in Group B, of the Tag Team World Cup, and ladies, I’d like to discuss a bit the status of the Woman’s division in WWE right now, as at SummerSlam we had 12 matches and only two where from the women’s division. And Sasha and Natalya’s match wasn’t even on the card.

B. Phoenix – I’d like to think this was a onetime occurrence and that we’ll get back to normal right away. We have to remember that the Kabuki Warriors deemed the whole tag division as unworthy of a title match, so we have right there one less match on the card.

Paige – Frankly I think the problem is that these girls simply lack the quality and the grit. And it starts at the very top. “Our” women’s champion is just deplorable.

B. Phoenix – I think we can’t generalize, but I agree that having Sasha Banks on the top of the women’s division isn’t helping anyone. Pity that Nattie couldn’t keep the belt last Sunday.

Paige – Oh, that pillock wouldn’t be a much better champ. The best potential champion is seating at this table, but is permanently unable to compete due to a neck injury sustained at the hands of the current lesser Champ. I wonder if it was her plan all along?

Blonde Bombshells vs Jessamyne Duke & Marina Shafir

Jessamyne and Carmella start the bout, with Carmella gaining the upper hand quickly, with a Monkey Flip, followed by the Oklahoma roll, she goes for a Reverse STO and a Rope aided hurricanrana, 1, 2, Jessamyne kicks out and puts on her arsenal of holds, that quickly overpower Carmella. She’s closo to tapping out for a couple of times, but Dana intercedes on each occasion.

Dana enters and her size and muscle frame quickly dominates the smaller framed Jessamyne. She eventually hits with a buckle bomb, cover, 1, 2, Marina Shafir interferes to prevent the pinfall. Marina is now legal, and as she’s bulkier than her partner she doesn’t fall prey to Dana, she’s able to connect with a drop toehold, then an arm triangle to make Dana Brooke quit. She resists for a while and Carmella is then able to interrupt the hold. Carmella and Marina are legal noe, but Marina completely overpowers Carmella. She has as Achilles Lock in place. Carmella is close to tapping out, but Dana halts her hand, denying the tap out. The hold is broken and Dana tags herself in, so does Jessamyne and right away Dana picks her up, delivers a Batista Bomb (she calls it Brooke Bomb), cover, 1, 2, 3. Former Champs, Blonde Bombshells pick up their first win in group A. Jessamyne and Marina are eliminated.

Seth Rollins and his Liturgy are coming to the stage. A big celebratory session is being prepared to welcome the Messiah. He takes the stage, under a shower of boos.

Seth – My congregation, The Messiah stands here before you the victor of last Sunday’s Falls Count Anywhere in the City of Montreal (boos). Now I would say it is a pleasure to be here in Quebec City, but how great can a city be when it’s even not the biggest city of the province that is named after it? (Serious boos). Also, the Disciple Murphy emerged victor in his title match against the one some people have the nerve to call the best wrestler of today (they laugh). The best? Seriously? He couldn’t even sniff a defense of himself (he turns to Murphy “Sniff..ahah, see what I did there?” they laugh). Therefore, the Liturgy continues to Hold the United States Championship and the TRUE World Heavyweight Championship! And soon, I have faith the Acolytes of Pain will be holding the tag team titles. And also, to have it all, I give you, the man who’s going to bring the 24/7 Championship home to us, come in Curtis Axel!!

Curtis Axel enters, he sports a ring gear similar to the one Murphy is wearing, he enters the ring, Seth welcomes in arms wide open, embraces him. He resumes is speech:

Seth – It’s a joy to have you with us, Curtis, I knew you’d accept the invitation. I mean, who’d go against the Messiah’s wishes

The lightning goes off. It stays off for about a minute. One can’t see anything, but a commotion of some sorts, when it comes back on CM Punk is in the ring, Murphy, Akam, Rezar and Axel are floored, as Punk is holding Seth Rollins. He applies the GTS. The crowd pops. He eyeballs the Big Gold Belt and grabs it and hoists it up high, then throws it a Seth’s face. The message has been sent.

M. Cole – And we’re back, the stage is set, and we’re ready for the Boss’ Celebration, and she’s hoping what happened to the previous celebration doesn’t happen to hers.

B. Phoenix – Oh I wouldn’t count on that, viewing that Nattie Hart was dealt a poor hand yesterday, and got cashed in by the Sasha minutes after winning the title.

Paige – Oh boohoo. I have no sympathy for Sasha, everybody knows that, but Nattie got what she deserved. She did the same to Sasha just a few minutes before, showing up, wrecking her and then capitalizing on the home turf pressure to demand a undeserved title shot.

It’s Boss Time!

Sasha Banks enters the stage, she holds her now sole puppy proudly, she’s radiant, but quickly her mood turns sour as she throws a killer glance towards the commentary table:

Sasha - You two have been badmouthing about me. All night, and also the previous turns you were occupying those seats. And shame on you Michael! You’re supposed to be the big man in WWE communications department. You let your color commentators to say such things about the Women’s World Champ? You guys think I didn’t hear that? You think I’m oblivious to what’s goin’ on at the show? As a true-born Champion I pay attention to the entire show, every week. So I know exactly what you been saying. Now I know both of you are retired, and one of you has some kind of handicap related to her neck, but don’t think I won’t whoop both of your asses!

Paige – If you lay a finger on me I’ll sue you so hard you’ll have to clean houses until you’re 85 to pay me back, you slag.

B. Phoenix – Unlike my colleague here I didn’t retire because of unfortunate health reasons, so I won’t sue you, I will trash you, if you lay a finger on me. Better yet, I’ll school you. You think you’re the shit because you are a champion on the era where female Wrestling finally has some projection, but you could hold a candle to the greats of my generation, Lita, Trish, myself. So don’t even try.

Tensions boil over, Beth leaves the commentary area, Sasha leaves the ring, they’re about to collide when…

The Hart’s classic tune comes up, Nattie sprints down the ramp, she dropkicks Sasha, then hits a bulldog right off the apron. She then applies the Sharpshooter. Security intervenes before things escalate further. But they are having difficulties, as Beth Phoenix is wanting a piece of Sasha Banks as well. Sensing things falling apart, Kurt Angle enters to restore order.

Kurt Angle – Ladies, ladies please, calm down. I have a major announcement that concerns you all. But firstly please, knock it off. (Things settle down, but Nattie Hart picks up a mic and talks):

Nattie – I hope you’re announcing a correction of SummerSlam’s injustice, and booking a rematch between myself and Sasha, for me to recuperate my title!

Kurt Angle – No, Nattie. There are no more automatic rematches in WWE. So you have to get in line like everyone else. I’m sorry. You had your chance at SummerSlam, you won, she cashed in, the rest is history.

Nattie is very much ill-content about this, Kurt goes on:

Kurt Angle – Speaking of history, the announcement I have to make will be etched into history. I have to acknowledge my shortcomings, and my share of responsibilities in the lack of women’s division matches in last week’s pay-per-view. To the fans you complained online, to the critics you called us out, to the women wrestlers who felt left out, I say unto you: You are right! Mea culpa (the crowd is really confused about this, they don’t even know whether to boo him or not).

Kurt Angle – This is why I am here to announce that, unlike previously scheduled, STOMPING GROUNDS, airing live on the WWE Network on September 12^th from Portland, Oregon, will be a SmackDown ALL WOMEN’S PAY-PER-VIEW! Este era um ppv que já estava previsto antes e que, o KA pressionado por ter tido poucos combats femininos no SSlam e por isso decidiu em cima do joelho torná-lo num ppv feminino. E Angle, sendo Angle, está sempre disposto a provar brand supremacy do SD (mas agora não e tom agressivo, já que ele se reconciliou, entre 55 cervejas pelos dois, com o Big Show, agora é numa rivalidade saudável)

Eu até gostava dos Open Challenges do Cena, apesar de acabarem sempre da mesma maneira. Mas o Heath, o Nese ou o Cedric terem lutado contra ele ajudaram logo a que fossem levados mais a sério. 

Mas por favor, sei do teu amor pelo Nese, mas se tás a planear mais algum grupo a envolvê-lo a ele, ao Heath e ao Elias, o Nese tem que ser o músculo, não o gajo que fala. 

O Corey a falar com o pai da Nikki e preocupado por a mãe dela andar a chorar é um bocado demais XD. Mas é interessante ver o Corey tão envolvido numa storyline. 

O Undertaker acabou no Raw e reencarnou no SD como CM Punk?

A Beth é super poderosa. é daquele tipo de wrestler que falta a esta nova geração. Elas são todas muito tecnicas, flippy, ageis, mas falta uma powerhouse. Não uma monster, como a Nia, um Cena femino, que consiga squatar uma Nia, como o Cena fazia com o Big Show.

A Charlotte em termos visuais até poderia ser mais ou menos isso, mas nunca foi bookada assim (talvez não o queira, querendo demontrar que pode ser tão agil e flippy como a Sasha ou a Bayley). A Dana Brooke, até pelo seu passado de culturista era a aposta da WWE para isso, mas....pois.

Agr se a Sasha é melhor ou não? Não sei. tb tenho essa duvida.

Digam o que disserem das suas skills (e estão bem acima da média das wrestlers do seu tempo) elas são das equipas mais iconicas de sempre. e eram equipa mesmo antes de haver titulos de equipa que as pudessem coroar como tal. Elas já estão em forma pós parto (as celebs têm sempre uns truques na manga, não são como os comuns mortais) e estão prontas a reclamar para si a glória tag team.
