Bulls announce Derrick Rose will undergo a meniscectomy on his right medial meniscus tear Friday.

 

Bulls will announce timetable for Rose's return following the procedure, which will be performed by team physician Brian Cole.

 

This is the removal option, which is consistent with optimism previously reported that this could be small tear.

 

Until surgery occurs/they know how much of the meniscus needs to be trimmed, it's guessing game. But chance remains Rose plays this season.

Bulls President Michael Reinsdorf refused to speculate on timetable but did say: "We’re hoping this is just a minor setback."

 

Pax: "Hopefully, this is easily corrected and he’ll be better than ever and feeling really good maybe for the first time in long time."

Trocar o MCW por uma pick que provavelmente vai ficar para os Lakers é uma óptima trade?!

Como fica para eles? Pode não vir este ano mas vem, para o ano, certamente. E o MCW é medíocre. Bom defensor, é certo, relativamente boa visão de jogo, mas fora isso muito mau. Aquele lançamento é capaz de ser o pior de um starter da NBA no backcourt.

Eu depois realmente fui ver que para o ano é top3 protected e são os Lakers portanto ok. Eu acho que não se dá o devido valor ao MCW e acho que nos vai calar.

Bulls expect Derrick Rose back this season after successful surgery

Derrick Rose underwent successful surgery Friday morning on the torn medial meniscus in his right knee.

 

Team physician Brian Cole performed a meniscectomy, and the damaged part of Rose’s meniscus was removed. The surgery was of the outpatient variety and Rose walked out of the hospital.

 

Rose is expected to begin rehab Saturday

 

General manager Gar Forman estimated Rose’s return to action at four to six weeks, meaning that Rose should play this season. If Rose returns in 4 weeks, he could play in 9 regular-season games. If he returns in 6, he could play in the final 3.

 

“I know Derrick is anxious to attack this rehab,” Forman said. “We anticipate a full return to activity. He’s full weight-bearing today. In about a week, he’ll be able to do basketball-related drills and increase his strength and go from there.”
