É fácil ver o Irving e Love a fazer de Lillard e Aldridge e o LeBron a ser um Batum em ponto grande, o que faz funcionar tudo tanto a nível defensivo como ofensivo. Claro que é preciso adaptar ao contexto de Cleveland, o LeBron não pode ter só a nível ofensivo as tarefas que o Batum tem. E a nível ofensivo vejo o Waiters a desempenhar bem o papel do Matthews.

Bulls lose 7th straight in Portland

 

 

aturday marks the one-year anniversary of Derrick Rose tearing his right meniscus here at the Moda Center.

 

Friday produced plenty more bad memories.

 

The Trail Blazers steamrolled to a 105-87 victory over the shorthanded Bulls, who played without Rose, Pau Gasol and Kirk Hinrich. Making matters worse, the Bulls lost Taj Gibson to a sprained left ankle midway through the third quarter when he stepped on Wes Matthews’ foot.

 

That’s the same ankle Gibson sprained during the home opener against the Cavaliers, which forced him to miss a game. At this injury rate, one-game absences would be a positive development for the Bulls.

 

Rose sat for the fourth straight game with his strained left hamstring, Gasol his third with a strained left calf and Hinrich his first after bruising his ribs and suffering a chest contusion on Thursday in Sacramento.

 

Gibson, who navigated the postgame locker room on crutches and in a walking boot, has sprained the same ankle three times dating back to last season’s playoffs.

 

“It’s just the same lingering injury,” Gibson said. “I keep trying to play through it, try and be there for my teammates. I pushed through a whole summer of trying to rehab the same ankle and it just keeps flaring up. I just keep having these little bum ankle turns. I’m just frustrated.

 

“I have to be patient. Just talking to Derrick, talking to the guys, I have to stop trying to run back out there and trying to play through these things. We’ve got a long season, but the dog in me wants to be out there and play. I have to learn from this.”

 

The Trail Blazers added insult to injury, shooting 49.4 percent and winning at home in this series for the seventh straight time. That streak includes a Bulls’ 42-point loss in 2008 and a 24-point defeat in 2009.

 

Ouch.

 

Damian Lillard finished with 21 points, nine assists and six rebounds in just 26 minutes, basically getting wherever he wanted on the floor. LaMarcus Aldridge added 16 points and nine rebounds in just 28 minutes.

 

Nikola Mirotic’s 24 points and 11 rebounds led the Bulls, who shot 36.1 percent.

 

Frustration flared early in the third when Mike Dunleavy committed a flagrant-one foul as Lillard attempted a 3-pointer. The play, which officials reviewed for a possible flagrant-two and ejection, angered Matthews, who shoved Dunleavy. Aaron Brooks rushed to Dunleavy’s defense, and he and Matthews drew offsetting technical fouls.

 

Dunleavy showed remorse afterward, saying he merely was trying to stop play because Joakim Noah had taken a shot to the face and was on the ground inside the paint.

 

“I felt bad,” Dunleavy said. “Jo went down and it looked like he got hit pretty hard so I was going to take an intentional foul. Lillard went up to shoot and it was one of those things where I got put in an awkward situation. He was in a shooting motion and at that point, I had to foul him hard because I didn’t want to give up a four-point play. It was just an awkward moment.

 

“He went up to shoot and at that point, what do you do? I’m not going to go for his legs or head. I just kind of went through his body, didn’t want him to make a 3. Nice kid. I got nothing against him. It was totally unintentional in terms of trying to hurt or injure somebody. I was just trying to intentionally foul him because Jo was lying in the paint.”

 

Brooks, who started for the injured Hinrich, who typically starts for the injured Rose, finished with 12 points.

Ultimamente não. Ele esta época quase não calçou. Só garbage time. Já com o Kidd ele calçava menos do que aquilo que mostrava valer em campo. Agora, não faço ideia o porquê de não ter jogado mais.

 

Quanto ao Hollins, vou esperar para ver. Na época passada por esta altura também já se 'pedia a cabeça' do Kidd e depois acabou por fazer um trabalho bom.
