Boys Noize & Pilo "Cerebral"

Following his recent collaboration with Tiga on the massively fashionable techno sounds of “100“, Boys Noize quickly returns with another b2b production, this time with the LA-based up-and-comer, Pilo. Their heavy and industrial bounce is titled “Cerebral” and it’s part of an upcoming Boys Noize Records release called Strictly Raw:

 

The idea of the Strictly Raw Vol 1. release is to take 1 drumachine + 1 or 2 synths and make a track with it. Over the last years friends came in and out of my studio and sometimes we end up jaming on my machines. Since it’s #BNR10YR I wanted to collect the good ones and put them all together and there is some serious magic going on :) As a DJ you always look out for these timeless house or techno music and here are 9 tracks that go from breaks to techno to acid to classic house, all analog, all strictly raw !! (via SoundCloud).

 

The new compilation will be arriving on vinyl May 29th and will include additional collabs alongside Johnny Sack, Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, AtomTM, SCNTST, another Tiga Collab and several other Boys Noize originals.

"Call on Me" is a dance music track based on a sample of Steve Winwood's 1982 song "Valerie". When Prydz presented the track to him, Winwood was so impressed with what Prydz had done, that he re-recorded the vocals to fit the track better.DJ Falcon stated in an interview that he and Thomas Bangalter, as a duo called Together, had sampled "Valerie" years previously; the sample was a simple loop used in DJ sets with no intention to release it as a single despite demand from various outlets.
