AS I LAY DYING Members Are Working On New Music Without Tim Lambesis

 

Talk about late breaking news. I just quickly checked my Instagram page to find that all the members of As I Lay Dying who have not been found guilty of solicitation of murder posted 15 second previews of a new track, with a vocalist who is definitely NOT Tim Lambesis.

 

The band have been hinting at their future as early as January, and as recently as last week and today we get the first official tease.

 

None of the videos contain captions. So who is the vocalist?

 

You'll notice each member's respective video features the musician playing their instrument in the background, except for Josh Gilbert. For Josh's video, you see the back of somebody's head, as they cup their headphones while presumably singing. This, coupled with fan comments in the video lead me to believe that Gilbert is taking over for vocals. He was already relegated to back-up vocal duties before the Tim fiasco.

 

Will the band keep the name As I Lay Dying or will they change it to something without the stigma of Lambesis' recent errors in judgement? I'm sure we will find out soon enough.

(Former?) AS I LAY DYING Members Post New Teasers with New Logos

 

While Tim Lambesis continues to create controversy, the rest of his (former?) bandmates are ready to move on. Following Friday's big tease of new material, Nick Hipa, Phil Sgrosso, Jordan Mancino, and Josh Gilbert have each posted new teasers today featuring a new logo that in no way seems like it's an As I Lay Dying logo, which makes me think they are moving on with a new band name and a new start. That totally makes sense to me, they are looking to distance themselves as much as possible from the controversy and I'm sure there is probably legal issues for this as well as Lambesis probably has some stake in whatever corporate entity houses As I Lay Dying.

 

Update: ThePRP did some snooping and noticed one of the band members registered a domain under "Worshipper," which would make sense given all the W's in these teasers.

Good day friends,

This morning an update was posted over at www.asilaydying.com on the current happenings and individual futures of all the bands' members. For Jordan, Josh, Nick, Phil, management, and record label, this was an interesting first time read as all parties were oblivious to its construction, intent, and release.

Though Tim is the only one with access to the As I Lay Dying site, the rest of us have been releasing content through our personal social media accounts to reveal that we are carrying on in a new band. Our truest intentions were to make this unveiling interesting and exciting for anyone who has supported us over the past year. With information so instantaneous and disposable these days, we had hoped to show you how things were coming together rather than simply tell you.

We never want to capture attention dramatically, which is precisely why we've been off the radar for close to a year. Though the third-person statement released earlier compromises a lot of how we had hoped to unroll things, we remain positive in our outlooks and look forward to sharing new music soon.

As I Lay Dying members Jordan Mancino, Nick Hipa, Phil Sgrosso and Josh Gilbert have been teasing new music for some time now. Since vocalist Tim Lambesis pleaded guilty to murder-for-hire charges, the future of As I Lay Dying and its instrumental section was unsure, but the four musicians have just revealed the new project Wovenwar.
