Hoeness: Differences of opinion reason behind Nerlinger's exit

 

The club's president has explained the decision to part company with their sporting director, and added they deliberately waited until after Euro 2012 to soften the blow to players

 

Uli Hoeness has explained that Bayern Munich dismissed Christian Nerlinger due to differences of opinion regarding how to take the Bavarians forward.

 

The sporting director departed on Monday after two seasons without silverware, with the Bundesliga giants bringing in Matthias Sammer as his replacement.

 

And Hoeness has made it clear that Nerlinger’s exit was inevitable.

 

"When we were reviewing the 2011-12 campaign with the supervisory board, the board of directors and the sporting director, it became clear that we had significant differences of opinion and a different vision about the future of Bayern," Hoeness stated to Bayern TV.

 

"We then already made the decision that we wanted to let go of Christian Nerlinger before the start of the new season.

 

"We took Euro 2012 into account as to when we'd announce our decision. We had 10 players at the Euros and didn't want to create any unrest."

 

Bayern start the 20122-13 Bundesliga campaign with an away match against Greuther Furth on August 24.

Breno condenado a mais de 3 anos de prisão

 

O jogador brasileiro Breno foi condenado esta quarta-feira a três anos e nove meses de prisão efetiva por um tribunal de Munique, que considerou que o jogador agiu intencionalmente ao atear fogo à sua casa, localizada naquela cidade alemã.

 

O tribunal deu como provado que Breno, de 22 anos, lançou fogo à casa localizada no exclusivo bairro de Grünewald na noite de 19 de setembro e ordenou que o ex-defesa do Bayern Munique fosse imediatamente encaminhado para a prisão, a fim de cumprir a pena.

 

A defesa pedia a absolvição do futebolista brasileiro ou, em caso de condenação, que a pena não ultrapassasse os dois anos de prisão, o que permitiria a Breno cumprir a pena em liberdade condicional.

 

O tribunal de Munique considerou que apesar de o jogador estar alcoolizado agiu de forma premeditada ao atear fogo à casa, pouco depois de a sua família ter saído, em consequência da frustração resultante de uma lesão no joelho.

 

"Quero pedir desculpa pelo que aconteceu nessa noite", disse Breno na audiência, afirmando não ter sido "um bom exemplo" para os seus filhos.

Leverkusen snap up Chilean international

24-year-old striker Junior Fernandes

 

Leverkusen - Bayer 04 Leverkusen have further strengthened their squad with the capture of Junior Fernandes from Chilean champions Universidad de Chile. The 24-year-old signed a five year contract that will run until 30 June 2017. Both clubs agreed not to disclose further details of the transfer.

 

 

Fernandes has so far made four international appearances for Chile and will wear the number seven shirt at the Werkself. He impressed the Leverkusen scouts with his dynamism and determination and finished as third highest top scorer in the Copa Libertadores with six goals. The current domestic season in Chile is at its halfway stage, and Fernandes has so far struck eight times.

 

"Fernandes has everything a modern forward needs"

 

"Junior Fernandes was the player we wanted to fill the spot vacated up front by the departure of Eren Derdiyok," said Leverkusen executive director Wolfgang Holzhäuser. "We are happy to have signed this highly talented youngster and are convinced that we will now be able to better compete on the international stage."

 

Sporting director Rudi Völler travelled to South America to watch Fernandes first hand before beginning the intensive discussions to finalise a transfer. "Junior Fernandes has got everything a modern forward needs," said Völler. "He is strong both technically and physically and is quick and efficient in front of goal. We are confident he'll be able to establish himself in the Bundesliga."

Isto do Sammer veio mudar tudo mas mesmo tudo. O tipo tem ligações a tudo o que é sitio no futebol alemão, incluindo clubes rivais e federação alemã.

Penso que talvez tente privilegiar o mercado interno e certamente enquanto o Jupp for o treinador, quem escolhe mesmo as contratações, é ele.
