UK Homegrown: LowKey Quits Music To Concentrate On Studies

 

London rapper Lowkey has stunned the UK music scene by announcing his retirement from the game to concentrate on his studies.

 

The political activist emcee took to his Facebook page to announce the news that he will be leaving the Music scene however left the door open to a possible return at some point in the future providing the time is right.

 

“After many months of contemplation I have decided to step away from music and concentrate on my studies. Maybe at some point I will get back into it again but at this stage I feel I should direct my energy in different, , more helpful directions. The ego is a destructive thing and I feel this business and these social networks in particular have a tendency to feed it in an unhealthy way. I will be deactivating this page. Thank you for all those who have supported me over the years. See you on the other side people”.

 

Lowkey‘s career was not one without controversy. The Obama Nation hit maker is well known for his feuds with fellow London rappers Chip and Ghetts in addition to the infamous banning of MTV Base mentioning his name. Despite his negative press, Lowkey is still one of the most influential rap artists London has produced over the years and we hope that a rekindled love of music is not to far off.

 

Não faço ideia de que estudos fala ele, mas pelas palavras parece-me que foi em parte por causa do Facebook (era a única rede social onde ele participava, acho).
