Sakura Genesis (sábado, 4 de abril de 2026, 8 da manhã)

@Ryogoku Sumo Hall, Tokyo

The full card is now set for Sakura Genesis. The biggest event of the spring sees four title matches, a massive return, and much more!

Kickoff Match: KUSHIDA & Masatora Yasuda vs Tatsuya Matsumoto & Taisei Nakahara

20260404_SG_00.jpg

A firm and wise hand in NJPW's LA Academy, KUSHIDA will be imparting wisdom and knowledge to Young Lions throughout the Road to Sakura Genesis. Tonight, it's tag team action that sees him with senior Young Lion Masatora Yasuda against the aggressive Tatsuya Matsumoto and Taisei Nakahara who made his debut on the New Japan Cup series.

Tiger Mask & Togi Makabe vs TMDK (Kosei Fujita & Hartley Jackson)

20260404_SG_01.jpg

As Tiger Mask counts down to his July retirement, Sakura Genesis marks what is likely his final appearance in Ryogoku. Having scored key victories in his career here over the likes of Jyushin Thunder Liger, Rocky Romero as Black Tiger, and Mistico, he faces a new and growing icon of the junior division in Kosei Fujita tonight.

Fujita will have no love lost for Tiger Mask, as he looks to prove himself ahead of Best of the Super Jr. 33; his partner tonight is the considerably larger Hartley Jackson, who will try to leverage his veteran instincts and considerable force opposite legendary bruiser Togi Makabe.

Unbound Co. (Shingo Takagi, Taiji Ishimori & Robbie X) vs United Empire (Jake Lee, Francesco Akira & Jakob Austin Young)

20260404_SG_02.jpg

United Empire and Unbound Co.'s ongoing faction warfare sees six man action in Ryogoku. Two days after Robbie X and Taiji Ishimori defend the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championships in Korakuen Hall, they will either be out for revenge, or to reassert theirsuperiority over Francesco Akira and Jakob Austin Young. Jake Lee has been decidedly drawn by Shingo Takagi of late meanwhile, and as the two provide heavyweight punch to this trios clash, what happens next in their growing feud?

Aaron Wolf, YOH, Toru Yano & Master Wato vs HOUSE OF TORTURE (DOUKI, Don Fale, SHO & Yoshinobu Kanemaru)

20260404_SG_03.jpg

In the aftermath of YOH and DOUKI's battle over the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship in Korakuen, eight man action will see a new chapter in the long saga between Hontai and HOUSE OF TORTURE. Fallout from the junior heavyweight title match is joined by Aaron Wolf continuing to pursue revenge against Don Fale, and the Hontai side will also be eager to ensure HOT are not in a position to interfere in our NEVER 6 Man Tag title match to come.

Yuya Uemura, Taichi & El Desperado vs United Empire (Will Ospreay, Great-O-Khan & HENARE)

20260404_SG_04.jpg

For the first time in over two years, Will Ospreay takes to the cerulean blue for his Japanese comeback match at Sakura Genesis. Appearing at New Year Dash in January, Ospreay addressed Callum Newman, saying that he wanted to return in support of the Prince and 'do things your way'. Now, on a night where Newman faces Yota Tsuji for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship in the main event, Ospreay meets the man Callum beat in the New Japan Cup final in Yuya Uemura alongside two members with long histories in United Empire: HENARE and co-founder Great-O-Khan.

NEVER Openweight 6 Man tag team Championships- Bishamontin (Boltin Oleg, Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) vs HOUSE OF TORTURE (Ren Narita, Chase Owens & Yujiro Takahashi)

20260404_SG_05.jpg

Tthe 'Bishamontin' team of Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI and Boltin Oleg will defend the NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag Championships against HOUSE OF TORTURE's Ren Narita, Chase Owens and Yujiro Takahashi. During the New Japan Cup, Boltin Oleg defeated Ren Narita to put the HOT leader out of the tournament, and to assert a claim to Narita's NEVER Openweight singles title. Yet Narita would flatly refuse Boltin's request, unless the six man titles were put up for grabs first.

With a pair of gripping encounters over the NEVER gold already in 2026, Bishamontin have already done much to re-establish the trios titles that had been mired in successive House challenges and reigns in 2025. Still, as a man of honour, Boltin has acquiesced to Narita's demands and his teammates are up to the challenge. Can they protect that honour as six man champions, and will Narita be made to be true to his word and put the singles belt on the line afterward?

NJPW World TV Championship- Konosuke Takeshita vs Shota Umino

20260404_SG_06.jpg

Singles Record: 1-0 Umino

Konosuke Takeshita will put the World TV Championship on the line against Shota Umino in Ryogoku. After capturing the TV gold in Trenton back in February, Takeshita returned to Japan at the New Japan Cup finals on March 21, retaining in an open challenge match against Yujiro Takahashi. Post match, the Alpha took to the mic to request a battle against the one man with whom he has yet to avenge G1 Climax 35 defeat against in Shota Umino.

A gutsy run int he New Japan Cup for Umino ultimately led to hard fought defeat in the semifinals against eventual winner Callum Newman. Eager to bounce back after tournament heartbreak, Umino sees a huge opportunity against Takeshita, but can he depose the immensely tough champion under the 15 minute time limit?

IWGP Tag Team Championships- Knockout Brothers (OSKAR & Yuto-Ice) vs TMDK (Ryohei Oiwa & Zack Sabre Jr.)

20260404_SG_07.jpg

Direct Tag Record: 2-0 KOB

In a rematch from New Year Dash, Ryohei Oiwa and Zack Sabre Jr. challenge IWGP Tag Team Champions the Knockout Bros. KOB captured the IWGP Tag Team Championships back in September on their first attempt at the gold, and through a six month plus and V4 reign to date, have brought considerable stability and prestige to the tag title scene in NJPW. A standout moment in their reign to date was at New Year Dash on January 5, where in the first main event of the post Tanahashi era in NJPW, the champions retained against World Tag League winners Sabre and Oiwa in an early tag team match of the year contender.

Yet the TMDK duo have not given in, and are driven for another shot at the gold. Oiwa in particular was fired up to stake a claim to the tag belts after defeating Ice in singles action during the New Japan Cup. With a passionate appeal to his classical professional wrestling over Ice's hard hitting strikes and streetfight tactics, the two men butted heads in Nagaoka at the New Japan Cup final, leading to this match getting made. Can Oiwa earn his first career championship, and can TMDK put a stop to KOB? And if not, then who can?

IWGP Heavyweight Championship- Yota Tsuji vs Callum Newman

20260404_SG_08.jpg

Singles Record: 1-0 Tsuji

Top of the billing in Ryogoku will be the IWGP Heavyweight Championship as Yota Tsuji defends against Callum Newman. The Prince's rapid ascent saw him defeat Tsuji's career rival Yuya Uemura in the New Japan Cup final on March 21 to become the youngest ever to lift the trophy, and now he seeks to break Shinsuke Nakamura's record at 23 years and seven months to become the youngest ever IWGP Heavyweight Champion.

Yet Tsuji, victorious over Konosuke Takeshita to become a double IWGP Champion at Wrestle Kingdom, is at the height of his powers. Having already put away United Empire members Jake Lee to defend heavyweight gold, and Andrade El Idolo to retain the Global title, the champion looks to do the same to the history making Newman. Their only prior singles meeting during G1 Climax 35 saw Tsuji victorious, though as the likes of Yuya Uemura and Hirooki Goto have discovered through the New Japan Cup, Callum Newman in 2026 is a very different prospect to the Callum Newman of 2025. Will it indeed be a new man at the top April 4

They actually did it!

@Fukuoka Convention Center, Fukuoka

Night 1

The annual festival of Dontaku hits Fukuoka on May 3, and that means the first of two nights of Wrestling Dontaku. After an intense tour has seen heated rivalries and title matches already, Two championship matches headline the card in Fukuoka's International Center tonight on what is sure to be an eventful evening.

Toru Yano, YOH & Master Wato vs Tiger Mask, Ryusuke Taguchi & Taisei Nakahara

20260503_dontaku_01.jpg

We start the evening off with six man Hontai action. Tiger Mask hopes to hit Fukuoka as the new IWGP Junior Heavyweight Champion, and if he does upset DOUKI for the belt, he'll be the target of Master Wato and YOH tonight. At any rate, the Best of the Super Jr. implications are certainly present here, especially between Wato and Taguchi, who are set to square off during the tournament in A Block action.

Tomoaki Honma & Masatora Yasuda vs Knockout Bros. (OSKAR & Yuto-Ice)

20260503_dontaku_02.jpg

Tomoaki Honma has kept up a rigorous schedule over the course of the week in attempting to test the IWGP Tag Team Champions the Knockout Bros. Tonight it's Masatora yasuda that's his partner as he takes on OSKAR and Yuto-Ice; can the Kokeshi and the Young Lion attain a massive upset?

El Desperado, Taichi, Mistico & Yuya Uemura vs TMDK( Robbie Eagles, Kosei Fujita, Ryohei Oiwa & Hartley Jackson)

20260503_dontaku_03.jpg

Eight man action sees Hontai take on TMDK on the evening. Night two of Dontaku will see an unlikely duo of Mistico and El Desperado taking on the new IWGP Junior Tag team Champions Kosei Fujita and Robbie Eagles. A preview of that match tonight could well sow future title match seeds, while Yuya Uemura and Ryohei Oiwa's rivalry continues to percolate.

Goto Revolutionary Army (Hirooki Goto, YOSHI-HASHI & Tatsuya Matsumoto) vs United Empire (Will Ospreay, HENARE & Great-O-Khan)

20260503_dontaku_04.jpg

With the NEVER 6 man Tag titles on the line night two of Dontaku on May 4, the final preview for Monday's semi main event is the first on the tour to feature Will Ospreay. As Ospreay takes to the ring in Fukuoka for the first time since a fateful battle with Shingo Takagi in 2021, he, HENARE and Great-O-Khan look to make a statement on the Goto Revolutionary Army before Boltin Oleg completes the side 24 hours later.

Konosuke Takeshita & Shota Umino vs HOUSE OF TORTURE (Chase Owens & Yujiro Takahashi)

20260503_dontaku_05.jpg

When it comes to wrestling philosophies, and commitments to New Japan Pro-Wrestling, there is a lot of difference of opinion between Shota Umino and Konosuke Takeshita. After a measure of respect earned during their title match at Sakura Genesis however, Umino was not going to let a post match attack from Chase Owens on the champion slide, leading to this tag team bout on night one of Dontaku. On May 4, Owens will challenge for the Alpha's TV Championship, and will likely go to any lengths to ensure he has the upper hand after this preview encounter.

Unbound Co. (Shingo Takagi, Drilla Moloney, Taiji Ishimori, Robbie X & Daiki Nagai) vs United Empire (Callum Newman, Jake Lee, Jakob Austin Young, Francesco Akira & Zane Jay)

20260503_dontaku_06.jpg

Ten man tag team action will see Unbound Co. facing the United Empire, and the last preview ahead of Monday's main event IWGP Heavyweight title clash. As Shingo Takagi and Callum Newman get ready for their showdown, the presence of Drilla Moloney in the Unbound Co. team will be a big boost to Takagi, and may become a crucial insurance policy for the Dragon come tomorrow night; who leaves night one with the upper hand?

Aaron Wolf vs Don Fale

20260503_dontaku_07.jpg

Singles Record: 1-0 Fale

Ever since not only the sheer mass and power of Don Fale, but the numbers of the entire HOUSE OF TORTURE put paid to Aaron Wolf in the New Japan Cup, the Olympic gold medalist has been yearning for revenge. At every opportunity, Wolf has attempted to throw the gargantuan Fale, who finally granted a singles match to Wolf following an Angle Slam delivered during Sakura Genesis in Ryogoku.

In preparation for this bout, Wolf held a day long, 10 million Yen prize fight challenge open to anyone that could pin him for three seconds, or throw him off his feet. As he went back to his judo roots to succeed in the challenge, Wolf gained most confidence when throwing former sumo turned MMA fighter Baruto, one of few athletes on the face of the planet that might somewhat compare to his competition tonight. A key difference during that tough man contest though was the absence of tables that Fale has splashed Wolf thorugh on multiple occasions, and the absence of HOUSE OF TORTURE. Can Wolf overcome those X factors this evening?

NEVER Openweight Championship- Ren Narita (c) vs Boltin Oleg

small20260503_dontaku_08.jpg

Singles Record: 2-0 Boltin

After victory during the New Japan Cup, victory in multiman tag competition, and victory in defending the NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag titles, Boltin Oleg has jumped through more than his fair share of hoops, but now the Big man From Kazakhstan has a shot at the NEVER Openweight Champion Ren Narita at Dontaku.

Yet to see a singles win over Boltin across G1 and New Japan Cup competition, and well aware that Boltin's own reign with the NEVER gold last summer only came to an end thanks to a combined concerted effort from HOUSE OF TORTURE as a whole, Narita was detremined to put this title match off for as long as possible, but now it seems he has run out of places to run. With defeat to Jon Moxley in 2024, and a bloody loss inside a steel cage last year, H.O.T's Souled Out leader does not have fond memories of Dontaku, and will certainly be putting the entire House at his employ to make this his first. Can Boltin overcome the odds and capture the gold for a second time?

IWGP Global Championship- Yota Tsuji (c) vs Andrade El Idolo

small20260503_dontaku_09.jpg

Singles Record: 1-0 Tsuji

It has not been smooth sailing for Yota Tsuji in the last several weeks. The immediate aftermath of his IWGP Heavyweight title loss to Callum Newman at Sakura Genesis saw him attacked by career rival, and AEW defector Gabe Kidd, leaving Tsuji to abandon any hope of an immediate rematch and instead see his IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship at risk.

As Tsuji began to prepare for Kidd however, fate had other plans. A shoulder injury sustained at AEW's Dynasty event saw Kidd pull out of title contention, and the contender's spot sitting vacant. At Korakuen Hall on April 19, Andrade El Idolo stepped up, and as fates swirl around Tsuji and the Global gold, Andrade could weather the storm and emerge as the champion.

After Tsuji decalred that his duty with the Global title belt post Wrestle Kingdom was to defend only overseas, or against competition from outside New Japan, Andrade saw himself as fitting both bills. Himself defeating Kidd to earn title contention, Andrade challenged Tsuji at New Beginning USA in Trenton New Jersey this February. A gripping back and forth battle ensued, but it was one that ended with Tsuji victorious, forcing the same Boston Crab submission that Kidd, and then Konosuke Takeshita had sampled in major title bouts.

In Andrade's mind however, there are no losses, but rather learning opportunities. El Idolo said in his video challenge that his February defeat was simply a matter of 'studying how to beat you,' and now Andrade feels he is on the doorstep of a title he deems 'destino'. A former holder of the priginal white and gold belt in NJPW in the form of the IWGP Intercontinental Championship, El Idolo sees holding Global gold as connecting himself from the past to the present in NJPW, as well as a chance to bring more gold and glory to a United Empire that could well dominate the Dontaku weekend.

Night 2

As the annual Golden Week celebrations in Japan draw to a close, the second night of Dontaku will have a bevy of championship matches set and heated grudges settled in Fukuoka!

Kickoff Match: Masatora Yasuda vs Taisei Nakahara

20260504_dontaku_00.jpg

Singles Record: 2-0 Yasuda

We get started early in the afternoon with Taisei Nakahara continuing his education at the hands of Masatora Yasuda. Benefitting from experience against a wide range of seniors through the tour, will Nakahara be able to survive longer in the lutches of the senior Noge Dojo member today, in front of his home Fukuoka crowd?

NJPW World TV Championship- Konosuke Takeshita (c) vs Chase Owens

20260504_dontaku_01.jpg

We start our main card with title action out of the gate as Chase Owens takes on Konosuke Takeshita. After the Alpha retained the title in a 15 minute time limit draw back at Sakura Genesis, Owens took advantage of a distraction from a mystery masked individual and jumped the champion from behind. From Owens' perspective, the challenge was a natural consequence of the Alpha retaining the title; during New Japan Cup, Owns ceded a title match with Takeshita to partner Yujiro Takahashi and now the Lonestar Outlaw believes it's his turn.

Though Owens is the bookmaker's underdog tonight, he has been a trap game for many a wrestler over the years. Honing his C Trigger knee on the Road to Dontaku, Owens feels like he can outstrike Takeshita's Powerdrive knee. Can that or any number of the offensive strings to his bow be enough to upset the TV Champ?

Ryusuke Taguchi & Tatsuya Matsumoto vs Unbound Co. (Gedo & Daiki Nagai)

20260504_dontaku_02.jpg

Hontai face Unbound Co. in a collision of Young Lion and veteran tag teams. Ryusuke Taguchi is gunning for his 22nd Best of the Super Jr. entry May 14, and the 2012 winner faces 2005 runner up Gedo tonight, while the junior heavy Young Lion Daiki Nagai squares off with a budding heavyweight Adonis in Tatsuya Matsumoto.

Shota Umino & Tomoaki Honma vs Knockout Bros. (OSKAR & Yuto-Ice)

20260504_dontaku_03.jpg

Direct Tag Record: 1-0 K.O.B.

Tomoaki Honma's quest to take on the Knockout Bros. continues to Fukuoka, where the veteran Kokeshi reunites with his World Tag League 2024 partner Shota Umino. Umino will always be happy to bring the fight to KOB after gritty fights through the end of 2025 and beginning of 2026. Will Umino be the key to Honma working his way to tag team championship contention once more?

Aaron Wolf, Toru Yano, Tiger Mask, YOH & Master Wato vs HOUSE OF TORTURE (Ren Narita, SHO, Yujiro Takahashi, Don Fale & Yoshinobu Kanemaru)

20260504_dontaku_04_2.jpg

Ten man tag action will see the fallout from night one, as well as Hizen no Kuni. At Hizen no Kuni, DOUKI and SHO saw to it that Tiger Mask's last push to IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship was unsuccessful, before DOUKI boycotted both the remainder of the Dontaku tour and Best of the Super Jr. to come. As Hontai's juniors unleash their fury tonight, will new champions be proudly flying the Hontai flag, or will HOUSE OF TORTURE celebrate the continuation of NEVER and IWGP Junior Heavyweight reigns?

IWGP Jr. Heavyweight Tag Team Championships- Mistico & El Desperado vs TMDK (Robbie Eagles & Kosei Fujita)

20260504_dontaku_05.jpg

After Kosei Fujita and Robbie Eagles had another thriller with Robbie X and Taiji Ishimori Saturday in Hiroshima, the result was new and three time champions being crowned. Now the two will seek even more momentum heading into Best of the Super Jr. 33 as they take on El Desperado and Mistico. This tag team match, which sees a first for the two masked men to team as a duo, had already been set as a special attraction for tonight, and so remains a non title bout. With Eagles and Fujita in fresh possession of gold however, two iconic junior heavyweights representing NJPW and CMLL have a chance to become instant contenders.

Yuya Uemura & Taichi vs TMDK (Ryohei Oiwa & Harltey Jackson)

20260504_dontaku_06.jpg

Recent events on the Road to Dontaku have seen Yuya Uemura battling with rival Ryohei Oiwa in six and eight man tag team action. Tonight, that gets pared down to a two on two between two hungry heavyweights who want to make their presence felt before Dominion in Osaka Jo Hall and the G1 Climax that lies beyond. Meanwhile both Taichi and Hartley Jackson are keen to show the heavyweight veterans are not to be looked over with G1 season approaching in the coming months, and will be showing out in this tag team affair.

Unbound Co. (Yota Tsuji, Drilla Moloney, Taiji Ishimori & Robbie X) vs United Empire (Jake Lee, Francesco Akira, Jakob Austin Young & Zane Jay)

20260504_dontaku_07.jpg

Fallout from night one in Fukuoka will see United Empire continuing to battle Unbound Co. Will Yota Tsuji remain IWGP Global Heavyweight Champion after ngiht one, or will he be looking to recover from a loss and an Andrade El Idolo who will have already left to return to the States? Meanwhile Ishimori, X, Akira and Young will each be looking to assert themselves a mere ten days before Best of the Super Jr. 33 kicks off in Korakuen Hall.

NEVER Openweight 6 Man Tag Team Championships- Bishamontin (Boltin Oleg, Hirooki Goto & YOSHI-HASHI) (c) vs United Empire (Will Ospreay, HENARE & Great-O-Khan)

20260504_dontaku_08.jpg

After a hugely successful return to the cerulean at Sakura Genesis, Will Ospreay teams with HENARE and Great-O-Khan again at Dontaku, this time with gold in mind. Despite Ospreay's numerous achievements within New Japan Pro-Wrestling, he has never held 6 man gold, and in fact only challenged for the titles twice in his career, the last time coming over nine years ago at Wrestle Kingdom 11. Alongside United Empire day one member Great-O-Khan and another cornerstone of the faction in HENARE, will this reunited team be able to deal with the power and sensational teamwork of a Bishamontin side that has reinvigorated interest in the six man titles as of late?

IWGP Heavyweight Championship- Callum Newman (c) vs Shingo Takagi

20260504_dontaku_09.jpg

Singles Record: 1-0 Newman

One month removed from a shocking victory that saw him become the youngest ever IWGP Heavyweight Champion in history, Callum Newman's first defence comes against Shingo Takagi on May 4.

Newman's rapid rise in the professional wrestling ranks came with no small influence from Shingo Takagi himself. Adopting Takagi's Made In Japan as Made in Essex for the finishes to his matches in the UK, Newman held Shingo's speed power and fighting spirit as the model to emulate. As a result, when a singles match between the two came to pass, and Newman was able to secure victory over his idol, the Briton should have experienced an all time career highlight.

Yet dissenting and critical voices would instead embitter the young man, and after many ups and downs since, it's a very different Callum Newman who faces Takagi on May 4. Taking great delight in the fans' hate, Newman has adopted an any means necessary tact when it comes to his big matches, as evidenced by the low blow to Yota Tsuji that led directly to his title win. Newman has not shied away from saying he's willing to plumb any depths to retain his title tonight, but Shingo has fired back that Newman should 'be careful what he wishes for'.

Although this match is listed under regular championship rules, Shingo has alluded to playing into a street fighting mindset. Indeed, five years ago to the day, Shingo used a similar anything goes mindset in a match filled with death defying moments and uses of tables when he was the first challenger for Newman's mentor, Will Ospreay in his IWGP title reign. Ospreay would admit later that he was pushed so hard in that matchup, he would injure himself and be forced to vacate the gold. Can Newman withstand similar punishment in our main event?

20260614_DOMINION_logo--350x233.jpg

Dominion 6.14 in Osaka-jo Hall (domingo, 14 de junho de 2026, 8 da manhã)

@Osaka-jo Hall, Osaka

The traditional close to the first half of the year, and the traditional kick off to the summer, Dominion sees Osaka Jo Hall gather for a stacked lineup every year. A massive six title matches highlights the card this year, together with a gripping collection of special singles and tag bouts for an unforgettable event.

NJPW World TV Championship- Konosuke Takeshita (c) vs SANADA

20260614_DOMI_002.jpg

Action kicks off tonight with the first of six championship matches, and the in ring return of SANADA to challenge Konsouke Takeshita for his World TV gold. SANADA appeared under a Noh theater styled mask back at Sakura Genesis in April, before truly making his intentions, and his face, clear at Dontaku with a post match attack. The Fashion Monster now targets his first singles championship gold since his IWGP World Heavyweight title reign ended in January 2024, but can he put away Takeshita in the 15 minute time limit?

No DQ- El Phantasmo vs Jake Lee

20260614_DOMI_02.jpg

Fans in Ota for the Best of the Super Jr. final were right to be in celebratory mood at the return to in ring competition for El Phantasmo after a near three month hiatus. Yet no sooner was he back than Jake Lee tried to put him in the injured list. A seemingly unprovoked post match assault saw Lee run through a steel chair into ELP's head with an FBS, leading an eneaged Phantasmo to issue a backstage challenge to a no DQ grudge match tonight in Osaka. It'll be anything goes in ELP's favourite town, but who will come out with their hand raised?

Yuya Uemura & Taichi vs TMDK (Zack Sabre Jr. & Ryohei Oiwa)

20260614_DOMI_001.jpg

A special tag team matchup will see the continuation of a rivalry that kicked into high gear in last summer's G1 Climax. In Korakuen Hall, Ryohei Oiwa and Yuya Uemura, two young technicians with a passion to bring a new breed of classical wrestling to the fore in the modern era, both promised the next generation of professional wrestling writ on the cerulean blue canvas. Their match delivered and then some, but in the year since, neither man has delivered quite the big match results they were hoping for.

Oiwa held NEVER 6 Man gold for a very brief span, but World Tag League tournament victory did not lead to tag championship gold. For Uemura, a run to the finals of the New Japan Cup didn't see him with the trophy, with the man who beat him for the cup now the IWGP Heavyweight Champion and wrestling Uemura's career rival int he main event tonight. Both men felt they needed to look to one year ago to push forward to the future, but they weren't the only ones.

Uemura's close friend and mentor Taichi would admit he himself is looking for a big win and future direction as we head into G1 Climax season. Suggesting a tag team match, Taichi wanted his former tag championship partner Zack Sabre Jr. to stand alongside Ryohei Oiwa for a match that will see all four men tested, and some deep emotional connections.

El Desperado vs Mistico

20260614_DOMI_04.jpg

A unique special singles contest sees the battle of two masked maestros of NJPW and CMLL, and two junior tag team champions: El Desperado versus Mistico. When Mistico returned to NJPW during the Road to Dontaku, it was somewhat of a surprise to see him team with Desperado for the first time as a duo. It was a surprise again for them to challenge for the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag team Championships, and a bigger surprise once more to seethe two win the belts.

With Mistico and Desperado's victory happening shortly before NJPW and CMLL combine for Fantasticamania Mexico later this month, and then Forbidden Door in San Jose June 28, many fans may have been speculating about future defences to come. Before that though, backstage comments after their title win saw Desperado challenge the CMLL icon Mistico to a singles matchup, a match Mistico gladly accepted. Now for the first time ever, a junior heavyweight dream match hits Dominion.

NEVER Openweight Championship- Aaron Wolf vs Ren Narita (c)

Singles Record: 1-0 Narita

Dominion sees the close of the first half of the year in New Japan, and a first six months in Aaron Wolf's career that has been dominated by the presence of HOUSE OF TORTURE. A sensational debut NEVER title win over EVIL in the Tokyo Dome saw Wolf's career start with a high, but a two minute loss to Ren Narita thanks to the entire H.O.T crew at New Beginning would then lead to humiliation at the hands of Don Fale in the New Japan Cup.

Humbled, but with redoubled conviction, Wolf fired back with a win over Fale at Dontaku, and now wants his NEVER title back in Osaka. For Wolf, a second reign with the NEVER gold isn't the only goal here tonight; rather it's putting an end to his HOT feud, and being able to truly start his pro-wrestling career by putting himself to the test against the best of the G1 this summer should he make the official selection. After Narita choked Wolf out with his own judo blackbelt on two separate occasions though, the current NEVER champ has other ideas.

IWGP Tag Team Championships- Knockout Bros. (OSKAR & Yuto-Ice) (c) vs United Empire (Great-O-Khan & HENARE)

20260614_DOMI_005.jpg

The Knockout Bros. will put the IWGP tag Team Championships on the line at Dominion against United Empire's Great-O-Khan and HENARE. O-Khan and HENARE lost a chance at the tag titles at Redzone in April after being beaten in a number one contender's match by Bishamon, but when the UE duo together with Will Ospreay beat Bishamon and Boltin Oleg to win the NEVER 6 Man Tag titles at Dontaku, they called their shot for Osaka Jo Hall. With OSKAR and O-Khan's dominating power, and Ice and HENARE's fighting spirit, this should be another thrilling title bout for KOB, but can the champions reach the rarified air of top four title reigns ever by getting to V7?

IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship- Andrade El Idolo (c) vs Shota Umino vs Drilla Moloney

20260614_DOMI_003.jpg

Singles Record: 1-0 Fale

The IWGP Global Heavyweight Championship will also be at stake in Osaka when Andrade El Idolo defends his freshly won title against both Drilla Moloney and Shota Umino in a three way match. A hugely dramatic title bout in the main event of night one at Dontaku saw the 'Real Latino Man' capture the Global gold, his first NJPW championship in 12 years after a shocking DDT saw Tsuji's skull meet the ringpost, and the DM was sent.

Andrade was quick to state that although he represented AEW, his title holder status meant that he was going to be a fighting champion in NJPW. After asking who wanted to be his first challenger, he was initially answered by Tsuji's Unbound Co. teammate in Drilla Moloney, but Shota Umino would follow. Andrade suggested a three way and now that match is official. While Moloney and Umino share a mutual respect they more pertinently share a desire to bring the Global title back to NJPW, and to hold the first singles gold of their NJPW careers.

IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship- YOH vs DOUKI (c)

20260614_DOMI_08.jpg

Singles Record: 2-1 DOUKI

It was an unprecedented tournament final to Best of the Super Jr. 33, the first time ever that one match had concluded BOSJ in two successive years. While Kosei Fujita brought his punk arrogance to Ebara Wave Ar4ena Ota on June 7 having won their prior clash in 2025, YOH promised a 'world of CHAOS' and delivered, finally using Shinsuke Nakamura's Boma Ye and Kazuchika Okada's Rainmaker to set up a Direct Drive, and his first singles trophy after 14 years in NJPW and his third attempt at the final.

Third time was the charm for YOH in Ota, but the third time has come and gone for YOH when it comes to the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship. So too has opportunity four, five and six, with that sixth and final challenge coming against the current champion DOUKI. Tonight, YOH gets another chance at Japones Del Mal, and the opportunity to finally complete a long and tortured climb to the top of the junior mountain.

DOUKI represents the dark clouds at the summit of that peak. Since joining HOT one year ago, he has been undefeated in singles action thanks in large part to his faction lackeys who are sure to be present tonight. His title reign, intact since October has also been defined by a reluctance to defend unless absolutely necessary, with DOUKI even abstaining from competition at the Tokyo Dome for Wrestle Kingdom and during Best of the Super Jr. Now, DOUKI has no choice, but will say that YOH has no chance. Can the Direct Drive end a reign of terror in the semi main event?

Main event: IWGP Heavyweight Championship- Yota Tsuji vs Callum Newman (c)

20260614_DOMI_09.jpg

Singles Record: 1-1

Set for the Osaka Jo Hall main event is a hotly anticipated rematch for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship from Sakura Genesis, Callum Newman seeking his second defence of the gold against the challenging Yota Tsuji. Newman's stunning victory in Ryogoku in April was tainted by a low blow paving the way to victory, and his first defence against Shingo Takagi proved that the Prince was even more willing to do whatever it took to keep hold of his championship gold.

With Unbound Co. and United Empire's battles being a consistent factor on cards all the way through 2026 so far, Newman suggested a way to put an end to their feud at Ignition to Dominion in Karatsu; a tag team match whereby if Unbound Co. lost, neither Tsuji nor Takagi could ever challenge him again for the title. Tsuji threw a wrench into those plans however; an emphatic Gene Blaster put the champion's shoulders down for three and secured himself this title shot.

Tsuji started 2026 on top of the world, but after back to back losses to Newman and Andrade El Idolo, has gone from having it all to walking into Osaka with no gold to his name at all. Will the first half of 2026 end with Tsuji on top, or the United Empire still reigning?

@Korakuen Hall, Tokyo

A mere five days before G1 Climax 36 kicks off in NOW Arena, the tournament lineup will finally be locked in and official tonight, with our final two play-in matches. Plus, the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship will be on the line, as YOH defends against the winner of the 'YOH Game' four way!

Yuya Uemura, Taichi, El Desperado & Masatora Yasuda vs HOUSE OF TORTURE (Ren Narita, SANADA, DOUKI & SHO)

reup_0706_1-1.jpg

The forces of good and evil clash in our opening contest as Hontai continue their wars with HOUSE OF TORTURE. Last time out in Korakuen Hall, a sensational main event saw Taichi fall just short of Yuto-Ice and a spot in G1 CLimax 36, and will be working to put that disappointment behind him, and take out frustrations against his former friend SANADA. Meanwhile, Yuya Uemura and Ren Narita are both key figures in B Block, and set to face off in a key match on Uemura's home turf of Fukuoka later in the tournament.

Boltin Oleg, Aaron Wolf, Hirooki Goto & Tatsuya Matsumoto vs Unbound Co. Yota Tsuji, Shingo Takagi, Yuto-Ice & Daiki Nagai

reup_0706_2-1.jpg

After several weeks on the shelf with an arm injury, Boltin Oleg returns to action as part of an all star Hontai tag. The G1 Climax 36 A Block entrant teams with a man who will be his A Block opposition on August 9 in Gunma, as well as the NEVER Champion and fresh B Block qualifier Aaron Wolf. Goto Revolutionary Army cadet Tatsuya Matsumoto will round out the sides against Unbound Co.

The Unbound side is represented by three A Block entries in the form of Shingo Takagi, freshly qualified Yuto-Ice and the IWGP Heavyweight Champion Yota Tsuji, making this a massive preview featuring half of the group together in one ring and not looking to cede an advantage to anyone. Add the hungry Young Lions Matsumoto and Nagai and you have the recipe for a stunning tag clash.

Tiger Mask Final 3 Way Tornado Tag Match- Tiger Mask & Jado vs Unbound Co. (Gedo & Taiji Ishimori) vs HOUSE OF TORTURE (Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Dick Togo)

0706_1.jpg

Ahead of Tiger Mask doing double duty on the final night of his career July 7, a special three way tag team match sees him celebrating his roots in the north east of Japan for Michinoku Pro. In a special three way tornado tag team match, he'll team alongside Jado, a man who has been an opponent through much of his career. That stretches back to 2001, when then IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag team Champions Jado and Gedo defended their gold in M-Pro.

The following January 4 2002, Tiger Mask IV would make his NJPW debut in the Tokyo Dome, teaming with Sasuke again as well as Jyushin Thunder Liger to face the Far East Connection of Jado, Gedo and Dick Togo, who tonight teams with Yoshinobu Kanemaru. While the bulk of Tiger's history with Kanemaru comes after the Heel Master came to New Japan in 2017, their first meeting was 20 years earlier at Ryogoku's Martial Arts Festival in 1997. Gedo's partner tonight, Taiji Ishimori might have a better inside track to beating Tiger meanwhile. The two of them tagged together quite a few times way back when Ishimori was still representing Toryumon in NJPW in 2004, even including a challenge to IWGP Junior Tag gold. Who will pick up the W tonight though as Tiger Mask  counts down to the last two nights and the last three matches of his career?

G1 Climax 36 B Block Play-in- OSKAR vs Yujiro Takahashi

0706_2.jpg

The first of our two G1 play-in matches sees OSKAR taking on Yujiro Takahashi. With this being a fight for the final spot of B Block, it will be little surprise to see Ren Narita stick his oar in tonight in a bid to make sure his teammate gets into his block and can play spoiler for his benefit over the course of the tournament. OSKAR has Unbound allies, not the least of which being his recently qualified tag team partner Yuto-Ice to call on if he needs it, but the 6'7'' German giant could well have the power and impact to run through the HOUSE on his own.

G1 Climax 36 A Block Play-in- El Phantasmo vs Ryohei Oiwa

0706_3.jpg

The last spot in G1 Climax 36's A Block is on the line as El Phantasmo battles Ryohei Oiwa. It was not a good night for either man at Dominion on June 14. In his return to NJPW after a long absence through the spring, ELP found himself beaten and embarrassed by Jake Lee, while Ryohei Oiwa was caught in a flash pin by Taichi in tag team action.

As Oiwa has refocused his efforts domestically, Phantasmo has looked overseas, competing in Mexico and America where a win over Barbaro Cavernario, and strong performances albeit in defeat against Mistico and then old enemy Will Ospreay on AEW Dynamite. Tonight ELP will be looking to capitalise on that refreshing excursion against the power and technique of an Oiwa driven by a need to produce results in this first time ever singles encounter.

IWGP Global heavyweight Championship- Shota Umino (c) vs Gabe Kidd

0706_3-2.jpg

Singles Record: 1-1

In a massive shock addition to the card, Korakuen Hall will see its first ever IWGP Global heavyweight Championship defence, with Shota Umino putting the belt on the line against Gabe Kidd.

Moments after Umino won the Global title, his first career championship, at Dominion, he was attacked from behind by Kidd. The 'Madman' had previously attacked Yota Tsuji when Tsuji still held the white belt back in April, initially challenging for the gold for Dontaku, but a shoulder injury put him on the shelf.

This time, it wasn't the belt that was Kidd's target, but its holder; Kidd has long held some of his deep reserves of ire just for Umino, but now that Shota was a champion, Kidd was eager to rain on his parade, and tell the Hontai star that he 'isn't and never will be a Death Rider'. With Kidd currently unable to wrestle in the United States, it was PAC that stepped up to challenge Umino for the Death Riders team instead, and mere hours before the July 6 card was finalised, Umino racked up his first defence with an impressive victory in San Jose at Forbidden Door.

Umino would endure trendous punishment from the AEW star, being thrown through ringside tables and enduring PAC's Brutalizer submission Once again though, Umino will have little time to celebrate his victory. Kidd is bound and determined to steal away the Global title from New Japan, but more significantly to maim Shota and take him from his greatest career high to date to his absolute nadir.

Main event: IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship- YOH (c) vs Francesco Akira

reup_0706_7-1.jpg

Singles Record: 1-1

Following the 'YOH Game' four way match in Korakuen Hall on June 23 that saw Francesco Akira victorious, YOH has his first challenger to his IWGP Junior Heavyweight Championship on July 6.

Akira managed to pick up the win after a wild bout with Kosei Fujita, Master Wato and SHO, the latter even supported by an interfering DOUKI at one point, to earn his second career challenge to the IWGP Junior Heavyweight title. Eager to make a mark on the freshly crowned junior champ, Akira would take YOH's title belt and blast him over the head center ring, promising to bring the champion and his fans 'to the depths of despair'.

This second career title shot for Akira is his first since NJPW's 53rd Anniversary card in Ota in 2025, a match that ended in bitter defeat to El Desperado. Even at 1-1 with YOH in singles competition, Akira will look to take advantage of the traditionally difficult first defence for a new champion. Will it be the Italian's time with the gold, or having spent over 13 years fighting to become the champion, can YOH hang on to the gold he worked so hard to attain?
