Nets' Williams, Warriors' Curry garner April rookie awards

 

The New Jersey Nets' Terrence Williams and the Golden State Warriors' Stephen Curry have been named the Eastern and Western Conference T-Mobile Rookies of the Month, respectively, for games played in April.

 

Williams ranked first among Eastern Conference rookies in scoring (14.3 ppg) and minutes per game (34.3 mpg). He also ranked second in rebounds (7.1 rpg), assists (6.3 apg) and free-throw percentage (88.9 percent). In addition, Williams averaged a triple-double (20.7 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists) at home.

Bucks center Andrew Bogut doesn't blame Suns star Amare Stoudemire for what turned out to be a series of season-ending injuries.

 

Bogut suffered several injuries to his right arm on April 3 against Phoenix.

 

He fractured his right index finger and suffered broken bones on both sides of his right wrist while trying to protect himself as he fell to the floor after dunking the basketball.

 

"He (Stoudemire) didn't push me or anything, but he had a hand on my back," Bogut said. "He definitely didn't do it intentionally, but at that speed and that trajectory, it takes a feather. I'm not blaming him by all means.

 

"In that position when you're so vulnerable, all you need is a feather. I tried to hang on (the rim) and for some reason I couldn't. I probably would have been better off doing a flip. As I was coming down, I was just wondering what I was going to do, how bad it was going to be.

 

"I was worried about my back more than anything. Obviously, if I didn't put my arm out, theorists say I would have probably broke my back. That's a pretty high percentage theory that if I landed straight on my tailbone, I could have even broken my neck with the whiplash. But it's not a career-ending injury by any means, which it might have been if I hadn't had my hand out there."

Michael Redd won't be in Milwaukee for the playoffs, general manager John Hammond said.

 

Redd is rehabbing in his home in Columbus, Ohio.

 

His absence is symbolic and possibly foretelling, according to Michael Hunt.

 

Even if he successfully rehabs from a second major knee surgery at age 31, it's possible he could continue to stay away by mutual unspoken consent until the Bucks try to unload what might become a desirable salary slot at the next trading deadline in February.

 

The Bucks are already negotiating an extension for John Salmons and it is unlikely that Redd would be able to win his job back.

O Rondo ? Á frente dele só podia tar o D12 foi o 2º melhor do ano de longe, 2º em blocks, dos jogadores que mais ofensivas saca, liderou a equipa para aquela que foi uma das melhores defesas da liga e faz imensos ressaltos defensivos.

Não acho o Rondo nada de especial a defender, até é bom para um PG, mas no geral não é nada de mais. Acho que os outros à frente do Bogut, podendo não ser justos "aceitam-se", mas o Rondo :doubt: Mas também não vi jogos suficientes dos Bucks para dar uma opinião melhor :wink:

O Rondo é bom nos steals a defender em posição é bom mas nao merece aquela posição. O único que posso aceitar é o Josh e mesmo assim acho injusto, o Bogut pelo que fez e por onde levou a equipa em termos defensivos merecia maior cotação mas pronto já se sabe como são estas votações.
