lol, que lolada de jogo.

11/23 3FG dos Knicks. 37pts no 1ºP, 65 ao intervalo.

36% FG nós. E tão a defender mal pa crl, crap :C

Hornets' Paul ties NBA consecutive game steals record

bf7b86b903543ddbab44638b3bc2c8a4-getty-82991430jm004_hornets_grizz.jpg

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) -- New Orleans Hornets guard Chris Paul tied the NBA record for most consecutive games with a steal on Tuesday night against the Memphis Grizzlies.

Paul's theft came after a bad pass by Grizzlies forward Darko Milicic with 3:33 left in the first quarter. That gave Paul 105 straight games with a steal, pulling him even with Alvin Robertson's mark set between November 1985 and December 1986.

"I'm a huge history buff, especially of the NBA," Paul said after the Hornets' 91-84 victory. "Any time you can be mentioned in the history books of the NBA, it's a great accomplishment."

The stat crew initially gave the steal to David West, but reviewed the play before changing it to Paul.

Paul had five steals and leads the league with 2.8 per game. He'll have an opportunity to break the record Wednesday night at home when New Orleans faces the San Antonio Spurs, where Robertson played when he broke the record.

"It's very fitting," Paul said of playing the Spurs. "The crazy thing is, this is a crazy record. It might not happen again for a long time, but I'm honored to have the opportunity to break it."

Eastern Conference Insider: Bucks finally getting defensive

When you're changing coaches in the NBA, the new coach has to bring something different. That's clearly the case in Milwaukee, where Scott Skiles, a coach with a defense-first mantra, has taken over what was the worst defensive team in the league last season.

"It's a culture change," Michael Redd said Wednesday. "We had to do it. We had to get better at that end in order to compete and get to the playoffs. We knew we had to be a better defensive team."

Improvement has come already. Milwaukee ranks 13th in the league this season defensively, allowing 107.3 points per 100 possessions. Only Cleveland has improved more. Of course, 13th isn't where Skiles wants to be. His teams in Chicago were consistently in the top five defensively. But in general, Skiles is pleased with how the Bucks have come along. They stand at 11-16, but they've played 17 of their 27 games on the road and were without Redd for 14 games.

"We also have half a new team and a new staff," Skiles adds. "It's not going to happen for us overnight.

"We've been an excellent defensive team in our practices. We know what we're supposed to be doing. It hasn't always translated [to games], but we are becoming more consistent on that end of the floor."

Two of the Bucks' best defensive games came in the last week in wins over the Pacers on Saturday and the Heat on Monday. In Miami, Dwyane Wade scored just 15 points, shooting 5-for-16 from the floor and getting to the line only six times. The Pacers and Heat are two teams that the Bucks will have to distinguish themselves from if they intend on making the playoffs.

The Sixers are another, but the good feelings that the previous two wins brought were erased somewhat when the Bucks fell in Philly on Wednesday, 93-88. Skiles didn't mince words afterward.

"We were heavy-legged, slow-footed, couldn't get up and down the floor and had tremendous difficulty guarding them," he said. "We looked disorganized, a total departure from the way we played the other night, and got exactly what we deserved."

The Bucks were solid early on, holding the Sixers to just 10 points and forcing four turnovers in the first seven minutes. It helped that the Bucks scored on their first six possessions of the game. But when Milwaukee didn't score on their end, the Sixers got running.

"We were very, very slow getting back," Skiles said. "We only had four turnovers at the half, but gave up 13 fast break points. So that means we're just missing the shot and they're just running right down and scoring."

Defense isn't the only area the Bucks need improvement. They currently rank 24th in the league in scoring, with just 105.0 points per 100 possessions. Obviously, Redd's absence has hurt, and Richard Jefferson is still adjusting to Skiles' drive-and-kick scheme that he brought from his Chicago days. Jefferson, averaging 18.1 points on .432 shooting, isn't getting the ball in the same spots that he did in New Jersey.

"We're getting better on [the offensive] end too," Skiles said. "We've been very unselfish right from the beginning of camp. Guys try to move the ball to the open man. Our problems have been a little more technical, just things that come from playing together, and our overall execution."

Make no mistake, though. Skiles is more concerned with his team's defense. And he knows he's going to have to be patient.

"When you're trying to transform the attitude and the defensive system," Skiles said, "sometimes you take one step forward and two steps back. And then all of a sudden you take two steps forward and one step back. And then eventually, you get it all ironed out."

Artest: Martin Is Better Than Reggie Miller

Rockets' forward Ron Artest compared two of his old teammates recently and decided that Kings' guard Kevin Martin is better than retired Pacers' guard Reggie Miller.

"When he (Kevin Martin) was there (in Sacramento), he was always working hard," Artest said. "When Reggie Miller left (Indiana when Artest played there), nobody really did the things that Reggie Miller did. I see a lot of Reggie Miller (in Martin). He's actually better than Reggie Miller, but the only thing Reggie had on him was he was a better team defender than Kevin."

Detroit Has Losing Record With Iverson

The Pistons lost to the Hawks on Sunday afternoon, dropping their record to 10-11 with Allen Iverson in the lineup.

Detroit was 4-0 when Iverson made his first appearance with the team, and they have now fallen more than seven games behind Cleveland in the Central Division.

Meanwhile, the Nuggets are 16-7 with Chauncey Billups, who they acquired for Iverson, in the lineup.
