Só o Rooney e o Drogba marcaram mais golos que ele no somatório das últimas épocas.

Agora, claro que foram valores demasido altos para o jogador em questão.

Mas é isto é que faz mexer a premier league e os seus clubes, grandes transferências entre os vários clubes do país, por isso é que as vezes se admiram como é que um clube que luta para não descer deu x dinheiro pelo jogador y... Isto era o que devia acontecer cá em Portugal, as discrepâncias entre os clubes grandes e os pequenos seria muito menor, mas isto teria de ser algo que já fizesse parte da cultuta dos clubes à muito tempo, infelizmente não dá para mudar de um dia para o outro.

Estou a falar da premier league, mas outro bom exemplo é a serie a.

Claro que nao se pode comparar a nossa liga a estas 2, mas pronto, é uma ideia minha e que a meu ver deveria ser adoptada não só agoraa, mas sim a uns anos atrás.

Agent: Honda meetings confirmed

 

Sport.co.uk can confirm that meetings have been scheduled with a number of top European clubs next week at the AFC Asian Cup in Qatar with representatives from the Premier League trio of Liverpool, Arsenal and Aston Villa expected in the Gulf state.

 

The Japanese international scored his nations 1000th international goal in the2-1 win against Syria, with the archipelago set to play hosts Qatar in the Quarter Finals.

 

Liverpool are considered to the favourites to land Honda with Kenny Dalglish and Director of football Strategy Damien Comolli keen on the frontman, while Arsenal scouts and Aston Villa representatives are also present in Qatar with both club manager's fans of the forward, although Arsene Wenger and Gerard Houllier could baulk at the price-tag of the forward. AC Milan have also been tracking Honda since the World Cup last summer.

 

The player's representative confirmed to Sport.co.uk that meetings were scheduled for next week, where Honda's future would be concluded.

 

"Several clubs have confirmed their interest." Kees Pleogsma told Sport.co.uk.

 

"My son is going to Qatar tomorrow to have a number of meetings. But, we will have to wait and see who is seriously interested in Keisuke (Honda). You never know.

 

"Time is going fast in the window. I really hope something can happen, but I don't know. As I said my son has a number of meetings, but so far nothing is concrete, we must wait and see."

 

Honda has been considering his future at CSKA Moscow after it emerged in 2010 that the club were considering cashing in on either Alan Dzagoev or the Japanese international, with Honda angling for a move to Europe with Arsenal, Liverpool, and AC Milan the confirmed suitors following an impressive World Cup.

 

The 24-year-old CSKA Moscow striker has been subject of intense speculation since his successful World Cup campaign with Japan although thus far no formal bids have been launched, with only interest confirmed by a number of clubs. However the player's future looks finally set to be decided by next week.

 

The Japanese international started his career at Gamba Osaka, the same club as former Arsenal player Junichi Inamoto, before moving onto Nagoya Grampus Eight, the club from whom Arsene Wenger joined the Gunners in 1996.

Giggs renova por mais um ano com o United

O técnico escocês do Manchester United, Alex Ferguson, revelou esta sexta-feira que Ryan Giggs, vai renovar contrato com os red devils por mais uma temporada.

O médio de 37 anos, já vai na sua 21.ª época ao serviço do United e prepara-se para continuar a brilhar na Premier League, por mais um ano.

“Estou muito feliz por continuar a jogar. Estou contente por poder desfrutar do meu futebol. Sempre disse que enquanto me sentisse bem ia continuar a jogar. Vamos sentar-nos e falar (sobre a renovação), mas estou muito interessado em jogar mais um época”, referiu o jogador galês à MUTV.

Apesar de ainda não ser oficial, Sir Alex Ferguson também falou sobre o assunto e garantiu que o veterano jogador vai continuar a representar o United por mais um ano: “Ele pode fazer mais uma época, quem sabe duas, porque a sua a sua condição física é muito boa. Ele é incrível. Falei com o Giggs e ele está muito entusiasmado com essa possibilidade”.

Por mera curiosidade, qual é o "recorde" de épocas feitas no mesmo clube por um jogador?! O Giggs apesar de já não ter o fulgor doutros tempos (como é normal), é tão máquina!! :prayer:
Apesar de tudo, não sei se será a melhor opção para o jogador e clube, mas a experiência e aquele pé esquerdo são ouro para aqueles lados.

Sinceramente acho que mesmo depois de acabar a carreira devia continuar no clube, fazendo parte da equipa técnica. Penso que seria uma mais valia.

Rafael fined and warned

Rafael has been fined and warned about his behaviour after accepting the FA's improper conduct charge.

 

The United full-back attended a personal hearing today (Friday) to discuss his dismissal and subsequent reaction during last weekend's 0-0 draw at Tottenham Hotspur.

 

A statement issued by the FA read as follows:

 

"At an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing today, Manchester United’s Rafael Da Silva was fined £8,000 and warned as to his future conduct.

 

"Rafael admitted a charge of improper conduct relating to his behaviour towards match official Mike Dean following his sending off in Manchester United’s game against Tottenham Hotspur on 16 January 2011."

 

Earlier in the week, Rafael issued an apology for the incident through ManUtd.com. The young Brazilian said: “I’ve accepted the charge because what I did was wrong.

 

"It happened because I was so frustrated at being sent off in such an important game. I apologise for my behaviour.”

 

The outcome of today's hearing means that Rafael will miss only one match - tomorrow's home league fixture against Birmingham City. He will be eligible to return on Tuesday night when United travel to Blackpool.

Para ser sincero não me recordo de o ver jogar, já que o Dunne, Collins, Clark e Cuellar estão à frente dele. Fui dar uma vista de olhos ao forúm do Villa e ele não é lá muito bem visto :mrgreen: Embora tenha feito uma boa parelha com o Laursen em 2008 (ainda não seguia o Villa como sigo actualmente).

 

E parece que segundo o Houllier ele vai mesmo para aí.

Strong squad for Cup trip

Sir Alex says he will be taking a strong squad to St Marys for the FA Cup fourth round tie against Southampton despite being without a handful of first team regulars.

Edwin van der Sar has been given the weekend off, while Patrice Evra (family bereavement) and Rafael (concussion) will not be travelling. Michael Carrick, who has been struggling with an ankle injury, is expected to be available providing he comes through training on Friday.

Michael will train today and hopefully he will be okay to travel, the boss told reporters at his pre-match press conference.

We picked up one or two bruises at Blackpool the other night - it was quite a physical game, but well still take a strong squad because it wont be an easy match; away games in cup ties never are.

I went to see Southampton play Oldham earlier this month and they won 6-0. They're having a good season. They play good football and I'm sure they'll have a go."

Sir Alex has a decision to make on who takes over in goal for the Reds with new signing Anders Lindegaard and Tomasz Kuszczak both vying for a starting spot.

"It's a possibility [a debut for Anders], confirmed the manager. He and Tomasz will both travel."

United read to swoop for De Gea

Manchester United will step up their efforts to land Spanish wonderkid keeper David De Gea after Edwin van der Sar confirmed yesterday that he will retire at the end of the season. It has been an open secret that Manchester United's Dutch international would call it quits this summer at the age of 40, after a spectacular Old Trafford finale to his long and illustrious career. Speaking yesterday, the veteran keeper insisted that he owed it to his family to retire from the incessant demands of the top-flight game, even though he still feels fit enough to carry on. United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has always maintained that he will respect the player's decision, and will now look to offer Van der Sar an off-field role within the club. First, though, he will look to secure a top-class replacement, and he sees 20-year-old De Gea as the ideal man to take the club into the next decade.

 

The Telegraph says that Germanys Manuel Neuer and Hollands Maarten Stekelenburg head a three-man shortlist to replace Edwin van der Sar, a list which also includes De Gea.

 

However, the Daily Star is confident that Sir Alex Ferguson is eyeing a £20million summer move for Pepe Reina as he prepares for life without Edwin van der Sar.

 

The Star also says that Uniteds FA Cup opponents Southampton are determined to keep hold of their starlet Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, who is the subject of interest from United, Arsenal and Liverpool. However, the paper says hes out to impress in Saturdays fourth round tie at St Marys.
