HelderPG Publicado 18 Janeiro 2011 Rafael charged by FARafael has been charged with improper conduct by the Football Assocation following his sending-off against Tottenham at White Hart Lane on Sunday. A statement on the FA's website said: "Manchester United defender Rafael Da Silva has today (Monday) been charged by The FA with Improper Conduct. "The charge relates to the player’s conduct towards match official Mike Dean following his dismissal in Manchester United’s fixture at Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday 16 January." "The player has until 6pm on 18 January to respond to the charge." Reserves: Bury 0 United 8United's Reserves, bolstered by several experienced first-team players, battered Bury 8-0 on Monday afternoon to book a berth in this season's Manchester Senior Cup final. Paul Scholes, Wes Brown and John O'Shea all featured in a strong starting XI, while goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard was handed his first taste of English football. The Reds ran riot in the first half, ending the game as a contest within half an hour. Joshua King opened the scoring on nine minutes, tapping home a simple finish after Fabio had latched onto Brown's through-ball and squared for the Norwegian striker. Much of United's attacking play came down the right flank, with King and O'Shea in fine form. The latter crossed for Robbie Brady to power home a superb header and double the lead on 16 minutes. Lindegaard's first half comprised little more than organising his defence and clutching occasional crosses. His Bury counterpart, Richie Branagan, was enduring a far busier afternoon. Although he made a superb double save from King and Fabio, he was unable to prevent King sweeping home O'Shea's cut-back, after the full-back had charged down a clearance. Obertan hit United's fourth in the 27th minute, lashing home the loose ball after Bury had failed to clear a Fabio corner, then the Frenchman released King to slide a neat ball across the area for Fabio to convert. Moments later, as the Shakers continued to hold a high defensive line, Brown's long ball allowed Obertan to poke home a sumptuous finish with the outside of his right boot. Though the sides were clearly mismatched, United's seventh goal drew applause from the smattering of onlookers at Carrington. Scholes, who operated below Bury's radar for an hour before departing, launched a 40-yard chip into Obertan's path, and the Frenchman's breathtaking volleyed control took him away from Branagan, and he slotted into the unguarded goal. The seven-goal lead at the interval prompted a softening in the Reds' approach. Marnick Vermijl and Reece Brown replaced King and Oliver Gill respectively, and versatile Belgian Vermijl soon joined the party; drilling home a low finish after Fabio's chipped pass had against exposed Bury's high line. For the remainder of the game United were content to just keep possession, though chances did continue to arrive. Branagan made a succession of saves to deny Obertan, tipped Darron Gibson's free-kick onto the post and also thwarted O'Shea in a one-on-one, while Brady and Vermijl both fired off-target from close range. Although nowhere near as busy as Branagan, Lindegaard passed his first test with flying colours; organising his defence well and making one particularly eye-catching save to pluck Carlton's effort from the air as it headed for the top corner. While it's impossible not to feel sympathy for Bury's beleaguered side, there was much to savour in United's display, plus vital playing time for first team squad members and a guaranteed cup final later in the Reserves' season. United: Lindegaard; Gill (R Brown 46), W Brown, Wootton, O'Shea; King (Vermijl 46), Gibson, Scholes (Norwood 60), Fabio; Brady, Obertan. Sub not used: Devlin Compartilhar este post Link para o post
