On June 6, 2008, Tottenham Hotspur FC agreed a deal to sign Giovani from Barcelona FC. The Mexican forward will sign a five-year contract in a move which will cost Spurs an initial £4.7m and rise to £8.6m depending on appearances. Barcelona have retained the right to 20% of any fee should the 19-year-old move on from Spurs in the first two years of his spell with the club. And, according to the Spanish club's website, they will get 10% of any transfer if he is sold on.

Aston Villa and Chelsea have agreed a £5.5 million fee for the sale of Steve Sidwell.

Sevilla have moved quickly to sign a replacement for Daniel Alves by lining up Abdoulay Konko from Genoa.

 

The French defender was being courted by several major clubs, with Italian champions Internazionale having been linked with a swoop.

 

However, Sevilla have agreed an 8million euros (£6.3million) deal for Konko after the Andalucian club sold Brazilian right-back Alves to Barcelona.

 

Enzo Maresca was originally tipped to be included in the Konko transfer, but the Italian has stayed in Spain after Genoa accepted a cash only deal for their player.

 

Konko, 24, played for Juventus' youth team after leaving his Marseille home, and joined Genoa after spells with Crotone and Siena.

 

His rise to prominence last season saw interest grow in his services, but it is believed that Sevilla's assurance of first-team football have persuaded him to join.

The 26-year-old, who will join his new side on July 1, leaves the JJB Stadium after 18 months in which he failed to score. Aghahowa joined Wigan from Ukrainian club Shakhtar Donetsk in January last year, making just 23 appearances.

 

"Julius is a lovely guy and he tried his best to adjust to life in the Premier League," Steve Bruce, the manager, said. "I never found fault with his attitude or effort in training or when selected.

 

"However, he never really managed to get started while I've been at the club and I think it's best for both parties that he moves on.

 

"I wish him all the best and I hope he enjoys success in his new club."

Kayserispor General Manager Suleyman Hurma has announced that the club has reached an agreement with Wigan Athletic's 26 year old Nigerian striker Julis Agahowa and 27 year old Cameroon midfielder Salomon Olembe.
