-

WWE: SmackDown – Fri 09 August 2024 Venue: Local Huge Arena, New Jersey, United States Attendance: 19,320 Total Rating: 77% Total Viewers: 45,724,073 Opening Promo – Cody Rhodes Celebration Cody makes his entrance to a thunderous ovation, fireworks exploding as the fans chant “CODY! CODY!” He proudly raises the Undisputed Championship. Cody: “The story continues. This title isn’t just mine — it belongs to the people. It’s your fight, your dream, your story… and I promise you, I’ll defend it with everything I’ve got.” The crowd cheers — but Gunther interrupts, walking to the ring. Gunther (coldly): “Cody Rhodes is not fit to hold this championship. The Ring General commands respect, dominance, and victory. And Cody… you represent weakness. The Ring General will take what should have been his all along.” Before Cody can answer, the arena lights dim and Brock Lesnar appears on the titantron, smirking. Brock (laughing): “You’re both living in my world. Cody, I attacked you because I want what you have. Gunther, you can talk about discipline all you want — but the Beast takes what he wants. And right now, I want that title.” Gunther and Cody stare each other down in the ring, the crowd roaring as Cody raises the belt defiantly in Gunther’s face. Rating: 81% Promo – Liv Morgan’s Women’s Championship Celebration Liv Morgan, flanked by Raquel Rodriguez, skips down to the ring with the Women’s Championship. The crowd is mixed — cheers and boos. This is MY division now.” Raquel (smiling): “And with me watching her back, nobody is taking this away.” Belair & IYO SKY interrupt, proudly holding the Women’s Tag Titles. Belair: “This little fairytale of yours won’t last long, Liv. While you cashed in and stole your way to the top, we’ve been grinding, fighting, and proving that we should run this division.” IYO: “We are the standard. And you? You’re just a placeholder.” Suddenly, Dakota Kai returns, shocking the crowd — and she’s not alone. At her side stands Giulia, making her official main roster debut. Dakota (smirking): “Iyo, you moved on… but I found someone new. Someone stronger.” Liv and Raquel laugh, backing up the ramp. Liv: “This is perfect. You all fight each other while we run this division.” The four women in the ring argue while Liv and Raquel smugly hold up the title from the stage. You want to call yourself the future? To prove it, you’ll have to go through the Legend Killer.” Before tension escalates, Jack Perry interrupts. He mockingly claps at Orton. Perry: “The Legend Killer? Please. You’re just a broken old man clinging to the spotlight. The New Order is the future — not you.” Orton teases an RKO, but Perry bails out of the ring, smirking.
