À primeira audição é incrível. A forma como as primeiras seis musicas fluem é qualquer coisa de incrível. Para a sétima é que já dá ali um salto mais agressivo e a partir daí volta à mesma.

Hoje ouvi o THC como deve ser, ontem estava todo cego. :lol: Vou fazer uma breve apreciação de cada música porque este senhor merece.

Desde já peço desculpa pelo extensivo post.

 

THC - É assim que se abre um filha da p*ta de um álbum. Basicamente a explicar o que é o healing component e a mensagem que quer passar na sua música.

Spread Love - Esta já tinha ouvido. Smooth, ouve-se bem.

Daniel Bloom - O hook é tão bom, f*da-se. A partir daí a música é absolutamente extraordinária, até lá estava a estranhar um bocado aquilo.

Strange Love - Aqui o gajo mostra bem a versatilidade que está a adquirir nos últimos tempos. Desenrasca-se bem a cantar. A própria produção está muito fixe, muito alternativo mas no bom sentido.

This type of Love? - Não sou fã de interludes, não havia necessidade de isto cá estar, embora a conversa até seja interessante.

Drowning - Também já tinha ouvido e visto o videoclip (que está do crl, diga-se) e gosto bastante da produção minimalista dos BADBADNOTGOOD, mais um som alternativo a mostrar a sua criatividade. Ainda assim o ponto alto é obviamente as rimas, está incrível.

As seen in Bethsaida - Meh, esta é a pior até agora. A única coisa que se aproveita mesmo é o Mick, a produção não gostei lá muito porque não me parece que encaixe bem no tema do álbum.

Communicate - Hoje em dia vê-se muitos sons semelhantes a este, mas o Mick e o Kaytranada conseguiram levar isto a outro nível. Isto era hit de radio fácil. Bom feature da sócia.

Plugged - Mais uma vez, bons vocals do Mick. Smooth shit.

1000Xans - Vou dizer aqui que a produção tem sido espetacular ao longo do álbum, esta não é exceção. Isto é só lindo.

Prosperity - O Mick arrebenta no verso, pqp. O misto de consistência e versatilidade do mano é assustadoramente boa.

Fall Through - Ouvi há dias, aliás, partilhei aqui. Das melhores do álbum, gosto imenso da mudança do beat lá para o meio.

Love, Robert Horry - Pure dopeness. Não achei gd m*rda o feature mas pronto, não machuca a qualidade do som.

Angles - f*da-se, a Noname é do crl. Grandíssimo verso.

Fucked Up Outro - Outra música cheia de suavidade para terminar a sessão.

 

Conclusão, álbum do ano. GOAT

Senti o mesmo na Betheisda, mas acho que tem a ver com o ritmo do álbum, honestamente. Parece um bocado deslocado. Individualmente até gosto.

 

E com isto descobri que já meteram o Telefone da Noname no Spotify. Nem tinha reparado. Andei à caça durante uns 3-4 dias depois de sair, a ver se metiam e nada pensei que não fosse lá bater. Ainda bem, merece o reconhecimento, é um belo projecto.

Sobre o álbum do Mick Jenkins, que tenho a mesma opinião e interpretei da mesma forma:

I had the day off today and had no plans so this album has been in rotation throughout the day. I've listened to it about 7 or 8 times now all the way through.

Basically, the concept of this album all revolves around love. Love is an interesting topic, because at first it seems like such as simple thing but it's actually deeper than that. Mick was asked in this album if the way he loved one of his past partners differently than the way he loved another one and he had never thought about that. For me I feel like the people that I love in my life are loved for different reasons and in different ways. Even the feeling is different like the way I love my mother is way different than the way I love my father, but they both treated me the same.

If you focus on the conversation in "This Type Love?", you notice the girl says something that makes Mick pause and think. Then, the wave sample comes in and leads into "Drowning", a song about realizing the truth.

The truth is Mick is trying to define love throughout the first half, but after that skit, he realizes that Love has no true definition. And that only shows the abstract portion of love. Then they talk about the types and the uniqueness of every type of love.

I've seen people complain about the skits, but at the end of the day the skits are a big part of this album because they help you understand the full message that Mick is trying to convey in this album. All the skits are trying to provoke conversation. And I think it does that with ease.

I'll say, I think he did more with the concept of love than alot of other rappers have in the past (not naming names). There is self love. Love for other people. How praying for someone can be an act of love in "Daniels Bloom". How we abuse the word love in "Strange Love". How it's so different depending on how you approach it in "Angles". To anyone who listened to this, I hope you listen to it more than once or even twice because I think there's a lot more there than what you would hear in most other stuff.

This is probably the most focused and lyrically splendid Hip Hop album released this year. And that should be no surprise coming from Mick. The production on here is incredible, and it manages to stay cohesive without sounding repetitive. Mick has vastly improved with his hooks, his melody, his singing.

Another great thing about this album is there's no filler, every track contributes to the overall theme of the album. Compare that to albums like Blank Face, The Sun's Tirade & The Life Of Pablo. Which, no offense to those 3 albums because I enjoyed them a lot and they're definitely 3 of my favorite Hip Hop releases of the year, but they had filler that could've been cut in order to make it better.

Don't be surprised if this is in my Top 5 Hip Hop albums of the year once 2016 ends.

À pala do beef entre o Meek e o Game, comecei a ouvir esta rapariga. Chama-se Young M.A e é, actualmente, a "cena" nos EUA. Honestamente, à primeira audição, custou a entrar, mas depois de ter ouvido a mixtape dela "SleepWalkin", curti. Gosto ainda mais por ser uma mulher, straight outta Brooklyn e com muita atitude.
