Ric Flair reportedly in a medically induced coma

 

 

I wish there was better news to report but here is the latest on Ric Flair. Fightful.com owner Jimmy Van is reporting that sources close to the situation are telling him that Flair is in a medically induced coma. That is the word on him as of this morning.

 

Obviously, when we get further updates we will pass them along. We hope that Flair can kick out of this and we wish him the best.

WWE.com has a story up but it basically cites everything that Flair’s rep has said on Twitter. The only thing we know right now is that he was admitted on Saturday for heart-related issues.

Ric Flair hospitalized for undisclosed medical issues

 

Ric Flair was hospitalized over the weekend for what his representative described as “tough medical issues.”

 

According to media reports, Flair initially arrived at the hospital on Saturday morning for heart-related issues.

 

Despite an initial claim that the WWE Hall of Famer was undergoing “routine monitoring,” Melinda Morris Zanoni, his agent at Legacy Talent and Entertainment, shared an update Sunday night on Twitter that implied his situation had become more serious.

 

“Are u a Fan/Friend of Ric Flair?” Morris Zanoni tweeted. “If so, we need prayers & positive energy 4 our Living Legend as he is dealing w/some tough medical issues.”

 

Details regarding where Flair was admitted and regarding what necessitated his hospital stay are unknown at this time.

Ric Flair is in a medically induced coma and is preparing for surgery ... a rep for the WWE tells TMZ Sports.

The 68-year-old wrestling icon was admitted to the hospital early Saturday morning and the situation has gotten more serious.

We're told Flair is set to undergo a procedure momentarily, though we're not being told what the procedure is ... though Pro Wrestling Sheet is reporting that it's a heart related issue.

Flair's rep had previously asked for thoughts and prayers for the Nature Boy.

RIC FLAIR STILL IN CRITICAL CONDITION FOLLOWING COLON SURGERY

 

Ric Flair remains in critical condition as of last word in a hospital in Atlanta.

 

Flair underwent colon surgery yesterday to remove a blockage that was the catalyst for a number of different health issues that followed including kidney failure. Those in WWE were made aware that Flair is on kidney dialysis as well. A key is being able to get the kidneys back functioning.

 

The surgery was considered a success, but as noted there are more issues involved.

 

With fans and people within the pro wrestling industry sending well wishes for her father, Charlotte Flair posted a message thanking people for their support this morning.

 

She wrote on Instagram: "Hi guys, On behalf of my family and I, we want to THANK everyone for the prayers, texts, calls and support. Our Dad is a FIGHTER and your continued thoughts and prayers MEAN THE WORLD to us. We will update everyone when we have more information."
