Universal Champion Roman Reigns vs. Kevin Owens (Last Man Standing Match)

Following a surprise move by WWE Official Adam Pearce, Universal Champion Roman Reigns will once again go head to head with Kevin Owens at Royal Rumble in a Last Man Standing Match.

Week after week, Reigns has engineered a steady stream of mayhem on Friday Night SmackDown, with Owens standing as one of the single toughest elements of resistance against The Head of the Table. The brutal rivalry included a vicious TLC Match and a savage Steel Cage showdown, both of which saw Jey Uso help his cousin to controversial victories. Then, on the Jan. 1 edition of the blue brand, Reigns once again attacked Owens and threw him off a high ledge and through a table at the WWE ThunderDome.

With Owens out of the way, Reigns turned his attention to WWE Official Adam Pearce. Angered that Pearce interfered in his issues with KO, The Big Dog and Paul Heyman engineered his placement in a Gauntlet Match that would determine who would challenge Reigns for his title at Royal Rumble. During the bout, Reigns and Uso interceded to make sure Pearce was the winner.

Moments after The Big Dog and the WWE Official signed the contract for their match, though, Pearce made the remark that he had been waiting all night for Reigns to sign the contract. Then, as he walked up the ramp, he started to limp, as an “old knee injury" conveniently began to "creep up," one that would prevent him from competing against The Head of the Table at the Jan. 31 pay-per-view.

However, since he was armed with the authority to choose a suitable replacement if one member of a main event is injured and could not compete, Pearce announced that he was doing just that. As a result, the returning Owens will now challenge Reigns for the Universal Title at Royal Rumble in a Last Man Standing Match!

More determined than even to unseat the Universal Champion, will the resilient Owens finally overcome The Head of the Table?

After Drew McIntyre defeated Keith Lee in his latest title defense, Goldberg barreled into Raw Legends Night with a challenge for The King of Claymore Country. The following week, McIntyre accepted the WWE Hall of Famer’s proposition, and the WWE Championship bout will indeed take place at the Royal Rumble event.

From his unprecedented streak to a Universal Title reign at the beginning of 2020, Goldberg has left an incredible mark on the sports-entertainment industry. McIntyre has proved to be the consummate fighting champion during his two WWE Championship reigns and is out to earn respect in his latest battle.

After winning last year’s Royal Rumble Match, will McIntyre recapture the same magic as WWE Champion? Or will Goldberg claim the title that has eluded him throughout his storied career?

SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks vs. Carmella

At Royal Rumble, SmackDown Woman’s Champion Sasha Banks will once again lock horns with the dangerous Carmella. 

After suffering weeks of aggravation at the hands of Mella and her sommelier, The Boss agreed to give Carmella a SmackDown Women’s Title opportunity under the condition that she first got to square off against Reginald on the Jan. 22 edition of SmackDown.

Now that she has made the nimble sommelier tap out, Banks will once again set her sights on her outspoken adversary in what is sure to be an all-out war for the SmackDown Women’s Title.

WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Charlotte Flair & Asuka vs. Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax

At Royal Rumble, WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions Charlotte Flair & Asuka will battle Shayna Baszler & Nia Jax in a rematch for the illustrious titles. Considering the individual issues currently plaguing all four Superstars, it is unclear which team will emerge victorious.

At one time, it seemed almost inconceivable that there was any tandem that could unseat the dominant combination of Baszler & Nia. That all changed at WWE TLC when Raw Women’s Champion Asuka revealed Charlotte Flair as her surprise partner to lay claim to the gold.

Since their huge defeat, there has been more than a few traces of dissension between Shayna & Nia, centered around their mutual desire to be the one to emerge victorious in this year’s Royal Rumble Match and earn the right to main event WrestleMania.

Meanwhile, although Flair and Asuka’s partnership seems much more solid than their imminent challengers, they both will head into Royal Rumble with their own distractions. The Queen has been recently at odds with Lacey Evans over The Lady’s involvement with Charlotte’s father, two-time WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair. And The Empress of Tomorrow has recently tangled with the darker side of Alexa Bliss, who handed the champion a shocking non-title loss.

The last Superstar in the ring will be declared the victor.

Melhor PPV, acho que hoje vai ser quando vou sentir mais a falta do público para aquela contagem de 10 e as reações a cada pessoa que entra.

Nos combates normais espero vitórias para a Sasha e Drew. Nos tags femininos, apesar de não gostar da equipa, espero que ganhem a Shayna e a Nia para ver se a Asuka pode ter feuds individuais, mas não me parece que vá acontecer.

No Roman vs Owens estou dividido. Se por um lado quero que o Roman tenha um longo reinado, por outro é impossível não torcer pelo Owens, e não quero que tenha 3 derrotas seguidas. Tenho a certeza que se há pessoa para quem há planos bem definidos é o Roman, pelo que acredito que se perder será protegido e certamente que há algo de importante para ele fazer até eventualmente recuperar o título.

 

Nos Rumbles, depende muito de quem ganhar os combates pelos títulos. No masculino estou pelo Bryan e pelo Edge, ambos para irem atrás do Roman se ele conseguir reter o título. Não via com maus olhos uma eventual vitória do Cena para ir também atrás do Roman, acho que poderia ser uma feud espectacular.

No femimino, a apostar seria na Rhea, e diria que na Mania dá Rhea vs Asuka vs Charlotte. Não acho que a Bianca ganhe sinceramente, mas também não desgostava já que gosto muito dela. Estou curioso para ver como eliminam esta Alexa, não pode ser uma eliminação normal.

Eu não seria completamente contra uma derrota do Roman. Mas num Last Man Standing? 🤔 Acho q é uma derrota muito mais "clara" e objetiva do que comer um pinfall. A não ser que eles arranjassem alguma shenanigan, tipo amarrar as pernas do Roman e mete-lo debaixo da mesa dos comentadores 😂
