Citação de Almeno, há 3 horas:

Damn, o Nash não tem amigos de verdade e f*deu-se. Aposto que tem inveja do Sting, que até tem a mais 😂

Pá, o DDP tinha tido o combate dele e provavelmente estava no banho...👀

Enfim... Talvez seja melhor assim.

WCW Resurgence: Ratings Soar as Momentum Builds for Troubled Promotion

By Dave Meltzer | Wrestling Observer

In a surprising turn of events, World Championship Wrestling (WCW) has been steadily gaining momentum and attracting higher ratings despite facing financial challenges in recent months. The once-struggling promotion seems to have found its footing, as viewership numbers continue to rise week after week.

Over the past three months, WCW has faced significant financial difficulties, with reports of mounting debts and struggles to secure lucrative sponsorship deals. However, the company's commitment to rebuilding itself from the ground up and delivering compelling wrestling content appears to be paying off.

The latest Nielsen ratings have revealed a remarkable trend for WCW, with each passing week showing a steady increase in viewership. The promotion's flagship show, Monday Nitro, has seen a remarkable surge in ratings, capturing the attention of wrestling fans across the globe. It seems that WCW's renewed focus on in-ring action, captivating storylines, and the emergence of fresh talent has struck a chord with the audience.

The credit for this turnaround can be attributed to a combination of factors. Under new management, WCW has made significant changes to its creative direction, embracing a more wrestling-centric approach that emphasizes athleticism and storytelling. Additionally, the promotion has successfully capitalized on the popularity of established stars while also investing in promising young talent.

WCW's talent roster boasts a mix of seasoned veterans and rising stars who have showcased their abilities in thrilling matches, capturing the imaginations of fans. From the electrifying performances of Goldberg to the technical prowess of Sting and the high-flying antics of Rey Mysterio Jr., WCW has managed to create a diverse and exciting product that appeals to a wide audience.

Moreover, WCW's dedication to building long-term storylines and creating compelling feuds has kept viewers engaged and invested in the product. The promotion has carefully crafted narratives that intertwine personal rivalries, championship pursuits, and power struggles, offering a depth of storytelling that resonates with fans.

Despite the positive trajectory, challenges still lie ahead for WCW. The financial struggles of the past cannot be ignored, and the company must continue to find sustainable solutions to stabilize its financial situation. However, with the current momentum and growing fan support, WCW appears to be on the right path to revitalization.

The wrestling world is eagerly watching the resurgence of WCW, and it seems that the promotion's commitment to quality wrestling, captivating storylines, and exciting talent is paying off. Only time will tell if WCW can sustain this upward trajectory, but for now, fans can enjoy the return of a promotion that was once a dominant force in the industry.

Scott Hudson: Dustin Rhodes tries to counter with a clothesline, but Rey ducks under and hits a dropkick!

Tony Schiavone: Rey Mysterio Jr. now with a series of quick strikes, targeting Dustin Rhodes' legs.

Scott Hudson: Rey is trying to neutralize the power advantage of the United States champion. Smart strategy by the challenger.

Tony Schiavone: Rey Mysterio Jr. with a beautiful springboard crossbody! The cover!

Scott Hudson: Dustin Rhodes kicks out at two! He's not ready to give up that United States title just yet.

Bobby Heenan: Dustin better watch out. If Rey keeps flying around like that, he's gonna get caught in Dustin's web.

Scott Hudson: But Dustin Rhodes catches him! Powerbomb! What strength from the United States champion!

Bobby Heenan: Well, look at that, Tony. Dustin finally swatted that mosquito out of the air. Maybe Rey should've brought some bug spray.

Tony Schiavone: Dustin Rhodes going for the cover!

Scott Hudson: Rey Mysterio Jr. kicks out at the last moment! This match is far from over.

Bobby Heenan: Well, Rey might be small, but he's resilient. It's like trying to squash a cockroach, Tony. They just keep coming back.

[Rey Mysterio Jr. and Dustin Rhodes share a brief moment of mutual respect before parting ways.]

Tony Schiavone: Rey Mysterio Jr. is your new United States champion, but Dustin Rhodes showed tremendous heart and determination in this match.

WCW Monday Nitro (Monday, Wk1 August 2001)

Announcers

   Tony Schiavone 2k.gifScott Hudson.gifBobby Heenan 98.gif

Tony Schiavone | Scott Hudson | Bobby "The Brain" Heenan

Tony Schiavone: Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to WCW Monday Nitro! We're coming to you live from the Grand Canyon University Arena, and we have an action-packed card for you tonight!

Scott Hudson: That's right, Tony! We have some incredible matches lined up, including a Cruiserweight Championship match and a huge Triple Threat match to determine the number one contender for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship!

Bobby Heenan: Oh, you bet, Scott! Tonight's gonna be wild, and I can't wait to see how it all unfolds. Let's run down the card for tonight!

Tony Schiavone: In our opening contest, we have AJ Styles taking on Norman Smiley. Styles has been on a roll lately, but Smiley is no pushover. This should be an exciting matchup.

Scott Hudson: Absolutely, Tony. And following that, we have a Cruiserweight Championship match between Shane Helms and Chavo Guerrero Jr. Helms has been a dominant champion, but Chavo is hungry for that title.

Bobby Heenan: I can't wait to see those high-flyers in action, but next up, we have Kidman and Rey Jr. teaming up to take on Nature's Buff. Eric Bischoff announced this match during the week as a consequence of Flair’s challenging the tag team champions last week, as he says that Flair and Buff are completely unproven as a tag team and a title shot must be earned.

Scott Hudson: And in our main event, Diamond Dallas Page, Goldberg, and Rob Van Dam will compete in a Triple Threat match. The winner of this match will become the number one contender for Jeff Jarrett's WCW World Heavyweight Championship. But, guys, there's been news this week about the special guest referee, Rick Steiner. He was injured last week, and we're not sure if he'll be able to officiate this match.

Tony Schiavone: That's right, Scott. The question is, who will step in as the special guest referee? This adds an interesting element to an already intense match.

Bobby Heenan: Well, regardless of who the referee is, one thing's for sure, this match will be a barnburner! The stakes couldn't be higher, and I can't wait to see who comes out on top.

Tony Schiavone: That's right, Bobby. It's going to be an incredible night of action here on WCW Monday Nitro! Don't go anywhere, folks. We'll be right back with our first match of the evening.

In a climactic finish, Styles delivered his signature Styles Clash, driving Smiley into the canvas for the decisive pinfall. Styles celebrated his impressive win, solidifying his reputation as a rising star in WCW.

But don't you worry, I've got a replacement lined up, and let me tell you, it's someone who knows a thing or two about kicking some ass!

Rick Steiner: This guy is tough as nails, just like me. He's gonna make sure things go down the right way in that ring tonight. You can bet your sorry asses on that!

Diamond Dallas Page vs Goldberg vs Rob Van Dam w/ special guest referee Scott Steiner

Tony Schiavone: Ladies and gentlemen, we are moments away from witnessing a clash of titans! Diamond Dallas Page, Goldberg, and Rob Van Dam are about to go head-to-head in this triple threat match!

Scott Hudson: That's right, Tony. The winner of this match will earn the right to challenge Jeff Jarrett for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. But there's a twist tonight as Scott Steiner has stepped in as the special guest referee, replacing his injured brother, Rick.

Bobby Heenan: Oh, this is going to be interesting! Scott Steiner as the referee? I smell trouble, gentlemen. He's always had a bit of an attitude, hasn't he?

[The match begins with all three competitors bringing their A-game. Diamond Dallas Page showcases his technical prowess, Goldberg unleashes his explosive power, and Rob Van Dam wows the crowd with his high-flying maneuvers.]

Tony Schiavone: What a display of athleticism we're seeing here! DDP with his Diamond Cutter, Goldberg with his devastating spears, and RVD with his jaw-dropping kicks. These men are leaving it all in the ring!

Scott Hudson: But wait, Scott Steiner seems to be favoring no one here. His counts are noticeably slower, clearly affecting the momentum of all three competitors.

Bobby Heenan: Slow counts, missed opportunities, Scott Steiner is making his presence felt in this match. He's certainly not making any friends tonight.

[As the match reaches its climax, Goldberg seems to have the upper hand, ready to deliver the finishing blow. However, Scott Steiner attacks Goldberg from behind, shocking the crowd.]

Tony Schiavone: What just happened? Scott Steiner blindsiding Goldberg! This changes everything!

Scott Hudson: And here comes Rick Steiner! He's had enough of Scott's antics. He's demanding a fair referee, calling for Charles Robinson to come out!

Bobby Heenan: Looks like the Steiner brothers have a plan up their sleeves. Rick just announced that this match is now a four-way, with Scott Steiner as a participant! Unbelievable!

Bobby Heenan: This is pure pandemonium! All four men are fighting tooth and nail, desperate to secure the coveted number one contender spot.

[As the match progresses, the chaos intensifies. The competitors unleash a series of near falls, with each one coming agonizingly close to victory.]

Scott Hudson: But wait, it's Scott Steiner who gains the upper hand! He locks DDP in his lethal Steiner Recliner submission hold, wrenching back with all his might!

Bobby Heenan: That's a dangerous move, Scott. DDP is trapped, struggling to escape. If he can't find a way out, it's game over for him.

[The crowd erupts with mixed reactions as DDP valiantly fights to break free from Steiner's clutches. With every ounce of strength, he tries to crawl toward the ropes, desperate for a rope break.]

Scott Hudson: But Scott Steiner is relentless, applying more pressure! DDP's face contorts in agony as he battles through the pain.

Bobby Heenan: It's just a matter of time now. DDP's resistance can only last so long. He's on the brink of defeat.

[Despite DDP's valiant efforts, he eventually succumbs to the punishing hold. The referee checks on DDP, raising his hand, and it drops for the third time, signifying the end of the match.]

Tony Schiavone: That's it! Diamond Dallas Page has passed out! Scott Steiner emerges victorious!

Scott Hudson: The Steiner Recliner proved too much for DDP. Scott Steiner manipulated this match to his advantage and secured the victory.

Bobby Heenan: It was a cunning move by the Steiner brothers. DDP fought valiantly, but in the end, the Steiner Recliner was too devastating.

Tony Schiavone: But how can this be legal? Scott Steiner wasn’t even in this match and it now seems like he has earned the right to challenge Jeff Jarrett for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship!

Bobby Heenan: The Steiners may have outsmarted everyone tonight, Schiavone! Look at them celebrating!

[The show concludes with the image of the victorious Steiners at the top of the ramp celebrating]
