Boas, só vi hoje este tópico e não o li todo desde o inicio por isso se estiver a repetir alguém ou a dar informação repetida peço desculpa.

 

Existe uma liga portuguesa de futebol americano, eu sei que somos (porque eu faço parte de uma) amadores mas para quem gosta e nunca viu um jogo ao vivo e não quer ir à América temos o nosso campeonato português. :grin:

That question has yet to be answered. One thing that is clear, according to a post on OfficialBrettFavre.com, the All-Pro quarterback enjoyed his season with the Minnesota Vikings.

"When I decided to return to the NFL to play my 19th season, I did so with some trepidation," Favre said on the Web site. "After all, I was joining a new team in a new city, for the archrivals of the 'green and gold.' And I'm not getting any younger.

 

"I couldn't be happier about my decision. The coaches, staff, and especially teammates who joined me in the season's journey are true professionals, and better yet, friends. I felt completely comfortable from Day One as a member of the Minnesota Vikings, and it's a tribute to the entire organization that accepted me with open arms."

 

Favre then thanked his fans, a few of whom have put up billboards in his hometown of Hattiesburg, Miss., to try and convince him to return to the Vikings.

 

"And to the fans -- those in Minnesota, in Wisconsin, and across the country -- I want to express my heartfelt thanks for all of the support and goodwill that you've shown me, Deanna, and the girls throughout the season," Favre said. "It's truly humbling to know that so many of you are pulling for us.

 

"Regardless of what the future holds, I want everyone to know that I will cherish the memories of the past year for the rest of my life."

Onde se pode ver um calendário das equipas portuguesas? Quando houver um jogo na cidade universitária sou bem capaz de lá ir. Quanto custam os bilhetes?

 

Boas, podes ver o jogo á borla. O calendário está no site do FATUGA, no lado direito do ecra está lá um quadradinho a dizer calendário. Quem costuma jogar na cidade universitária são Lisboa Navigators, mas tb há jogos no estádio nacional, geralmente os crusaders.

Mais perto dos jogos eu venho aqui postar o local e hora, etc.

Vai haver 1 jogo hoje em espanha (Black Towers - Renegades ), mas não sei nem local nem horário, nos próximos jogos coloco cá a informação toda. :)

Pq equipas portuguesas são só 4 e uma equipa da galiza quiz jogar no nosso campeonato. E os nossos jogos são do tipo da college nos EUA com 9x9.

Vikings will give Favre time, want Taylor back

 

 

Spielman, however, also noted that Favre’s decision would not influence how the Vikings evaluate the quarterback position as they examine their options.

 

“We are in the process of all our meetings,” Spielman said, “so we’ll evaluate any potential trades out there, we’ll look and see if there’s anyone who gets cut, we’ll look and see what we have and re-evaluate where we are at with Sage [Rosenfels] and T-Jack [Tarvaris Jackson]. We’ll also evaluate this draft very closely.”

* Spielman said it’s the Vikings “goal and intent” to re-sign unrestricted free agent RB Chester Taylor. “Chester Taylor brings so much to this football team,” Spielman said. “He’s like the unsung hero of the offense.”

 

* The Vikings expect DT Pat Williams to return, despite a recent suggestion by Williams it was 50-50 he would return in 2010.

 

* In another piece from Zulgad, he reports DE Ray Edwards said during a radio interview he was informed by the Vikings the team will make him a tender offer that would keep him under a one-year agreement for 2010.

Que jogador, ainda consegui vê-lo a jogar, apesar de ter sido o ultimo ano dele, principalmente ele e o Sanders (:prayer:) não tiveram azar de não ter ganho nenhuma Super-Bowl tiveram foi azar de terem estado nas equipas que tiveram e os companheiros tiveram...

Mas mesmo assim existem aqui jogadores que mereciam mesmo uma SB :(

O Mark Sanchez já fez a operação ao joelho e correu tudo bem.

Quanto aos Eagles, o Mcnabb, Vick e Kolb estão todos em final de contrato, dizem que o Mcnabb poderá ir-se embora, o Vick poderá ser trocado, mas certos comentadores dizem que se houver mesmo alguma acção pelo Vick, deverá ser mais tarde do que cedo.

 

Mas espero que ele fique, nesta season o gajo jogou muito bem, e nem sequer teve off season.

Eu mandava o McNabo embora, por uma boa pick no draft, assim como o Vick... Ficava com o Kolb que pode ser starter e ia buscar com a pick do McNabo um bom jovem promissor QB, tipo o Colt McCoy...

Quanto ao Mcnabb até poderei concordar, gostaria que ele ficasse mais algum tempo, mas se for embora paciência.

Quanto ao Vick, quero mesmo que ele fique, adoro um QB com um bom braço e com aquela explosão que ele tem para ganhar jardas a correr e isso o Vick ainda é um dos melhores da NFL.

Pelo que vi nas trades do Madden, uma pick na NFL tem muito mais valor do que uma pick na NBA. Apesar das 7 rondas, salvo o erro, chegam a entrar uns quantos undrafted's.

 

O McNabo vale uma 1st round (troca por troca)? Se sim, High, mid ou quase 2nd round?

Mas não estou a ver o Vick ficar, sinceramente... Aproveitava e não sei se o Andy Reid fazia companhia ao McNabb...

 

Edit: Laercio as picks na NFL valem bastante, pois ao contrário da NBA que tens 5 jogadores na NFL tens onze atacantes, onse defensores, mais as equipas especiais o que te dá um total bem acima dos 40 jogadores por época, daí terem 7 rondas de draft. Normalmente uma pick de primeira ronda é muito valiosa, podes trazer um bom QB, RB, WR, etc. e consegues encontrar sempre algum jogador nessa ronda que depois uma equipa pode ser construída à volta desse jogador (exemplo mais recente: Mark Sanchez e os Nets)

 

Quanto à pergunta se o McNabb vale uma pick de 1ª ronda, provavelmente já não mas não nos esquecemos que podem sempre juntar a sua pick de 1ª ronda e subir uns lugares de modo a arranjar um bom QB. Também temos de pensar que existe equipas que estão desesperadas por um QB experiente como o caso dos Bills ou dos Browns, pelo que aí poderam trocá-lo directamente...

Os Bills é das equipas que dizem que anda interessada no Vick.

Outro caso como o Sanchez nos Jets foi o Stafford, os Lions não tiveram nenhuma vitoria no ano passado, este ano tiveram algumas vitórias, e o Stafford teve muito bons números.

Se querem construir uma equipa tem que se olhar sempre para o QB é ele que impõem respeito na equipa, é ele que comanda o ataque da sua equipa e é o único que pode mudar as jogadas do treinador se assim o achar necessário (apesar de que existem alguns treinadores que não gostem muito disso).

Extremamente versátil passa quando é preciso e corre como nenhum QB, continuo achar que é o QB mais rápido que existe na NFL.

Free-agency restrictions will apply in an uncapped year

Will the Saints be players in free agency? How much will it hurt the Bears not to have a draft pick until the third round with a limited free-agent pool? Will LaDainian Tomlinson be the top running back in free agency?

 

With a labor stalemate between the NFL and NFLPA likely triggering an uncapped 2010 season, I'd like to address how some of the rule changes that will come into play could directly affect your team. So let's take a look at some of the issues that could make this a vastly different offseason than we're used to.

 

 

Could there be a salary cap and normal free agency in 2010?

 

Yes, if NFL owners and the NFLPA reach an accord before March 5. That seems highly unlikely, though, as both sides admit there is a wide gulf to be bridged. The odds are that the sides will be more aggressive to complete a new collective bargaining agreement before the 2011 season, when the current CBA expires. If a deal isn't reached, a work stoppage is possible, but Commissioner Roger Goodell has said the sides are trying to avoid things getting that far.

 

 

 

 

What is the big deal about unrestricted free agents vs. restricted free agents?

 

Typically, a player, such as Broncos defensive end Elvis Dumervil or Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson could test the open market once his contract expires after four seasons. But with no salary cap, they can't be unrestricted free agents until after six seasons. So, if no deal is struck by March 5 and we go to an uncapped year, they will be restricted free agents, meaning their teams can place tenders on them to allow themselves the right to match any offer and receive draft-pick compensation should they not match.

 

A team can place a variety of tenders on its players, with the highest being compensation of first- and third-round picks, a first-round pick and descending draft selections. Because of this, the unrestricted free-agent pool could be reduced by more than 200 players, many of whom are in their primes and could be difference makers, like Broncos wide receiver Brandon Marshall or Packers linebacker Nick Barnett. Most of the top unrestricted free agents are closer to 30.

 

 

 

Is it ruinous to a player to be a restricted free agent?

 

The lack of competition for a player's services could diminish his earning potential. However, it's not necessarily gloom and doom.

 

 

For example, let's say the Colts put a tender for first-round compensation on restricted free-agent safety Antoine Bethea. A team with that specific need, like the Giants, who might plan to use their first-round pick on a safety, could opt for a proven, young veteran like Bethea and offer him a financial package the Colts don't want to match. The Giants would surrender the first-round pick and have to pay Bethea a decent salary, which could be comparable to what they might have paid a first-rounder.

 

Something like this would be an exception, but being a restricted free agent doesn't mean a complete dead end to player movement.

 

 

 

 

Will Carolina defensive end Julius Peppers be in play for the Saints or Vikings?

 

That is a major long shot. In a new rule that will try to keep the rich from getting richer, the teams that finished in the top four (New Orleans, Indianapolis, Minnesota, and the Jets) can't sign a free agent until one of their free agents signs with another team. They can only sign one free agent per player lost. Making things even more difficult, the Saints, Colts, Vikings and Jets couldn't sign a free agent to a first-year salary greater than that of the free agent they lost signs with his new team.

 

Peppers could command a salary that starts well into the double-digits of millions of dollars. If none of the top four teams' lost free agents signs for similar loot, then they're out of the process.

 

 

Couldn't one of those top four teams cut a player to create that void to sign somebody else?

 

No. A cut player will not be considered an unrestricted free agent. This rule applies to all teams who finished in the top eight (enter San Diego, Dallas, Arizona and Baltimore). Only a player with an expiring contract counts as an unrestricted free agent for those top eight teams.

 

 

 

So if the Chargers were to release Tomlinson, they couldn't re-sign a free agent in his spot?

 

No, because San Diego is a top eight team. Tomlinson would not qualify as an unrestricted free agent for the Chargers. He would be free to sign with any team, though. Whether he draws as much attention as free-agent running backs Chester Taylor (Minnesota), Larry Johnson (Cincinnati) or Willie Parker (Pittsburgh) remains to be seen. It is not a deep group as of now.

 

 

 

 

Are the additional four teams that round out the top eight as hamstrung as the top four?

 

They have a little more wiggle room. They can't sign an unrestricted free agent until one of their lost free agents signs with another team. However, they can pay one unrestricted free agent a first-year salary of $5.5 million or more in the first year of his contract. They also can pay any another unrestricted free agent $3.7 million or less in Year One of the deal. There are caps as to how large the annual raises can be.

 

 

Do any of those restrictions apply to the remaining 24 teams?

 

No. Those teams can spend however much on free agents as they'd like. It's simply a matter of how much payroll an owner wants. This is huge for a team like Chicago, which doesn't have a first- or second-round draft pick because of trades for Jay Cutler and the late Gaines Adams, respectively.

 

The only way the Bears can augment their roster outside of their remaining draft picks is by being a player in free agency (most of their trade tools have been dealt already). The Bears could make a play for Seahawks unrestricted free agent wide receiver Nate Burleson or former Jaguars wideout Torry Holt and go after an offensive lineman like the Packers' Chad Clifton.

 

 

 

 

Since there is no cap, can teams cut players without some of the previous adverse consequences?

 

Yes. Let's say the Jets feel that 2008 draft pick Vernon Gholston, the No. 6 overall pick, isn't living up to his high draft status and want to clear him out to bring in someone else. They can let him go without suffering a "cap hit" because there is no cap. When there was a cap, any signing bonus money was pro-rated over the team of the contract and if a player was released, the remaining amount would accelerate and eat up space under the cap. Not anymore, though. When a team cuts a player, it doesn't have to pay him any more base salary unless it was guaranteed.

 

One agent referred to this as a "sewer" scenario, because any bad contracts could be discarded. Once a labor agreement is reached in the future, a lot of teams can have clean books and move forward with better financial structure.

 

 

 

Can teams dump salary and not spend much on other contracts?

 

Yes. If there is no salary cap, there is no salary floor. If a team desires, it doesn't have to spend anything in free agency and only add the new payroll of draft picks. If that were to happen, it would create a baseball scenario like the Yankees spending on the high end and the Marlins running a discount operation. It's unlikely, but it is possible.

Mas voltando á questão dos QB nos Eagles, mesmo assim gostaria de ficar com o Mcnabb, vai ser mais um ano que o Mcnabb vai estar com o Jackson, Maclin etc. logo vai aproveitar melhor estes novos taletos, muito, muito experiente e verdade seja dita foi ele que levou os Eagles aos PO, a única coisa que nos falta é mesmo defense, este ano o Mcnabb teve imensos sacks, porque aquilo parecia uma auto estrada, é pah o Reid não sabe que está na altura de arranjar uma d-line á altura do QB?

 

Quanto ao Vick, também gostaria que ele ficasse, mas devido ao contrato, bonus etc, meh acho que vai ser algo difícil, quanto ao Kolb, o gajo é jogador para sero QB para grande parte das equipas da NFL, mas nunca fui muito com ele.

 

No final, quem gostaria que fosse o nosso QB, seria o Mcnabb, espero que ele fique, também queria que o Vick ficasse.

Mas dado como a equipa joga o Mcnabb é a escolha ideal, já disse que adoro o Vick é um QB que tem características diferentes, mas os Eagles sempre jogaram por passes e nisso o Mcnabb é o melhor dos 3.

Sim, infelizmente as equipas jogam muito em corrida, pq tb n existe ainda mt capacidade para jogar por passe, mas os navigators( a minha equipa, eu proprio sou reciver) tem capacidade de jogar por passe mas o mister n aposta mt nesta forma de ataque.
