Chris Jericho não renova com a WWE

 

 

Chris Jericho deixou muito claro que ficou muito chateado com a WWE, por a mesma ter impedido-o de ser o Guest Host do programa Downfall da rede americana de televisão, ABC. Jericho alega que a WWE impediu que ele investisse em um futuro, com esse projeto pessoal, e por isso o mesmo não renovou com a empresa.

Já o pessoal dentro da WWE (equipe criativa, bookers e até mesmo Vince McMahon) estão chateados por Chris não ter contado sobre este projeto mais cedo.

O contrato de Chris acaba entre Setembro e Outubro.

- Brian Fritz of Fanhouse.com conducted an interview with Chris Jericho this week to promote Downfall on ABC. Below are some of the wrestling-related highlights:

 

Is your contract coming up? I know you’ve been back with the company for almost three years now.

 

Yeah, it’s coming up fairly soon, it’s coming up very soon. It’s one of those things we’ve been talking about for a while to get it rolling again. Like I said, to me, I’ll leave the business when I’m ready to and I’m not ready yet. I still want to continue to work. I still have some things that I can offer. I still think I’m among the best in what I do, if not the best just because of the fact I have 20 years of experience which is a rare thing nowadays. You can’t teach experience. You can teach someone to do a promo kind of, you can teach someone to do a move but you can’t teach someone experience.

 

What’s your thoughts about the Bryan Danielson situation because that’s really blown up of him getting released?

 

I think he got caught in a crossfire. I think he was the scapegoat for somebody getting angry at the choke thing. Obviously, that’s been a hot button topic for years. I don’t think he did it maliciously. I don’t think Vince (McMahon) fired him maliciously. I think it was one of those things where hands were tied and somebody got angry from somewhere and they had to make a knee jerk decision to do that. I think it hurts the NXT group because it’s great right now when you have seven animals ganging up on one guy. That’s a great visual but when it comes down, at some point they’re going to have to wrestle. At some point, somebody’s going to have to wrestle. And Wade Barrett is good but Danielson was the gem and could go out there and have five star matches with anybody. And they don’t have that right now. That’s the one thing I think is a little bit of a weak link in the NXT chain is the fact that they don’t have that. So losing Bryan is going to be, it’s going to be a blow. Hopefully, they’ll bring him back at some point because he’s a great guy and a great talent. I worked with him for about six minutes on the first NXT but it was a great match and I would love to work with him more and I’m sure I’m not the only one who feels that way.

It is being reported that the reason WWE NXT rookie Joe Hennig is using the "Michael McGillicutty" name in the company is because the "McGillicutty" last name is actually his mother's maiden name and Hennig wants to honor that side of his family.

 

After researching this claim further, Hennig's mother was actually born Leonice Leonard, so it remains to be seen where the "McGillicutty" name actually fits into all of this.

Former in-ring star Bill Goldberg recently said that he is bothered by other wrestlers who use the Spear as part of their move list, even going so far as to say that those who use it are "uncreative". Goldberg also posted the following statement on his official Twitter page...

 

"Gotta say all these yahoos using the Spear irks me......Just shows how over it was and how less-than-creative they are"

- It's said that WWE released Savannah partly because of her messing up some lines on a recent episode of NXT when she was interviewing Wade Barrett.

 

- WWE is making plans for a season three of NXT. The current season ends in late August and WWE has the SyFy slot until the end of September so SmackDown can debut on the network in October. There's no word yet on where a third season of NXT will air.

- One of the stranger things about Daniel Bryan's WWE release is that Vince McMahon personally fired him via telephone late Friday night of last week, instead of having someone like John Laurinaitis do it. WWE creative and company executives were said to have no idea that any trouble with Danielson was even brewing. Some knew that there was heat from the tie incident on RAW but nobody expected that this would happen.

Dave Meltzer is reporting that, besides the tie choking incident, another thing that probably led to Daniel Bryan's release from WWE was when he spit in the face of John Cena. Vince McMahon is said to hate when people spit, as well as smoking cigarettes and sneezing (really). Spitting is something that has been banned in WWE for many years. With that being said, it's not believed that Bryan spit on Cena without getting permission from the office first.

- Wade Barrett, leader of RAW’s Nexus stable, has been pulled from WWE TV and live events because his work visa has expired and he’s no longer eligible to work in the United States. Barrett has returned to the UK where he’s waiting on a new visa to be cleared.

 

Drew McIntyre is going through the same problems. You may remember from SmackDown where WWE started a storyline saying Drew was being deported. This isn’t far from real life but it’s possible that McIntyre is still here in the States. Regardless, he’s also unable to work right now. If McIntyre is still here, it’s possible that he can stay while a green card application is approved since he’s married to WWE Diva Tiffany.

 

There’s no timetable yet on when Barrett or McIntyre can return.

Wade Barrett e Drew McIntyre não podem combater na WWE em virtude de os seus vistos de trabalho nos Estados Unidos terem expirado.

 

O líder dos NXT rookies já não esteve na Raw de segunda-feira e, ao que parece, nem está nos EUA, tendo regressado a Inglaterra enquanto aguarda a resolução do imbróglio. Quanto a Drew McIntyre crê-se que ainda está nos EUA. O escocês não foi deportado por ser casado com Tiffany, uma cidadã norte-americana.

 

Nenhum dos lutadores foi despedido, aguardam apenas a recepção de um novo visto de trabalho. No entanto, a WWE ainda não consegue definir um prazo certo para o retorno de ambos, que vai depender do tempo que demorar a resolver esta situação burocrática.
