É uma facto que muita gente olha o silva como intocável,e a carreira dele no UFC mostra isso.Até no combate contra o Travis Lutter em que ele foi lixado dos joelhos para o combate,ele submeteu lo no 2o assalto.Ele basicamente limpou a concorrência toda.Agora neste combate,ele viu se negro(e eu não acredito na desculpa das costelas,já que depois do pay-per view,na folha dos médicos com o tempo de descanso obrigatório depois dos combates,não apareceu nada tão grave quanto o silva e o ed soares davam a entender),a malta põe se a pensar " E se o sonnen tivesse outra oportunidade?seria capaz de fazer o mesmo?será que isto foi apenas um dia mau,ou o silva acomodou se demais nos ultimos tempos e não esperava um tipo sem medo?".

 

E precedente perigoso é dar um title shot a um Brock Lesnar 2-1 em MMA,e 1-1 no UFC. Nunca mais me esqueço :facepalm:

Não sabia que tinham gasto tanto. No entanto, pelo menos no caso do Toney, o objectivo era claro: chamar o pessoal do boxe.

Pah, bem sei que a comissão e os refs checkaram a cena mas é muito estranho, todos os lutadores do camp Jackson tem estas cenas estranhas, nunca vi ninguém sair de um leg-lock do Palhares assim mas congrats.

 

Quem surpreendeu foi o Cole Miller, grande performance, vi o TUF depois e penso que vai ser uma boa campanha, há uma luta preliminar em que um gajo começou a correr logo no inicio contra o outro, tenta um flying knee e cai por cima dele, just WOWWW. :lol:

- Duffee may have upset the UFC and been hard to deal with. Back in May, the UFC's official Twitter said that Duffee’s former job was at Dairy Queen. Duffee tweeted back 'Yo find a new way to promote me I don’t find my misfortunes as funny as you might. Your sense of humor sucks'. You can’t go back and read this old tweet now though, because Duffee’s Twitter account has suddenly been deleted. Luckily, Maggie Hendricks over at Cagewriter caught a screen shot of it back in May.

 

- Perhaps Duffee upset the UFC by tweeting about how broke he was and that he needed a part-time job back in early August. The only proof we have of that now is via The Underground since his Facebook and Twitter no longer exist.

 

- Duffee was slated to star in the movie Never Back Down 2 and some are speculating that he claimed to have a knee injury in order to work on the film and after being examined by a UFC doctor he was found to be healthy so the UFC cut him for the injury fraud. This has not been proven, just another morsel of wild speculation.

 

- Let's make it clear. No one at MiddleEasy believes Todd Duffee has used steroids during the UFC or at any time in his life. We would never insinuate this. There’s no proof, however this is the generic theory that gets thrown out every time someone as massive as Duffee gets cut or sidelined by any MMA promotion.

 

- Duffee is a hitman and he will be used to take out the Strikeforce heavyweight champ. This one is way out there, but it is out there. Some have said that Dana White wants Duffee to get nabbed by Strikeforce and eventually take out Alistair Overeem and then Dana plans to bring both fighters to the UFC

Em termos de nome, juntaria ainda o Arlovski. Em termos de performance e a regularidade dos combates (veja-se o Overeem ou o Fedor) é que ficam a perder. Mas a meu ver só com esses 7 nomes, já dá para ter uma divisão de grande nível.

 

Btw, sei que muitos não acompanham mas provavelmente o evento do DREAM na semana que vem será o último.

CSAC: Sonnen Positive for PEDs at UFC 117

 

According to California State Athletic Commission Executive Officer George Dodd, Chael Sonnen has been notified that he failed post-fight drug screening following his loss to Anderson Silva at UFC 117, which was held Aug. 7 at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, Calif.

 

“[sonnen] received his notice yesterday,” Dodd told Sherdog.com shortly after the Shane Mosley-Sergio Mora boxing match ended Saturday night in Los Angeles.

 

In a conversation the day before, Dodd declined to comment on the situation, other than answering that all fighters from UFC 117 had passed drugs-of-abuse scans, but that the commission was still waiting on performance-enhancing drug screens from the event.

 

Dodd did not state which banned substance was red-flagged, but with a clean drugs-of-abuse scan it is clear the positive test was for a performance-enhancing substance.

 

The last major UFC banned-substance case in the state centered on UFC 73’s lightweight title match, which saw both competitors -- Sean Sherk and Hermes Franca -- test positive for PEDs. Both fighters were suspended for one year and fined, though Sherk appealed and had his suspension shortened to six months.

 

Sonnen is staring at a long layoff if he elects not to appeal or is denied. He was scheduled to rematch Silva Feb. 6 in Las Vegas, but that fight may be delayed or scrapped in light of these allegations.

 

Text messages to Sonnen went unreturned.

 

His manager Matt Lindland told Sherdog.com that he was cornering a fighter on the East Coast and had no knowledge of the positive test results.

 

Silva’s manager Ed Soares, who engaged in some heated exchanges via the media in the build up to the fight, was stunned when asked for his reaction.

 

“If it’s true, I feel really bad for him,” said Soares. “I know he did it to himself but it is really sad, he put on such a great performance that night. It is just a shame it will be tarnished.”

Ever since news of DREAM stiffing a number of fighters of their contracted fight purses including Gary Goodridge, Ronaldo "Jacare" Souza and featherweight champ Bibiano Fernandes, rumors have been running rampant about how dire of financial difficulty the Japanese promotion is in.

 

Nightmare of Battle does a great job in summing up exactly what the issues have been for FEG that have led to the company being barely able to keep its head above water.

 

According to the website, the need for outside investment by PUJI Capital was necessitated by a number of factors related to K-1 and DREAM including:

 

• Back taxes the company has been paying since former K-1 head, Ishii, was jailed for tax evasion.

 

• The PRIDE Yakuza/Fuji TV scandal and the Akiyama greasing event lost them sponsors.

 

• An increase in fight purse amounts.

 

• A decrease in money earned from its television deals in 2009 which is said to be 30-50% less than FEG earned in 2008.

 

The story goes on to quote Japanese MMA magazine Kamipro's editor-in-chief Saito who says the non-payment issues have been going on since DREAM's inaugural event in 2008 and that the problem hasn't only affected non-Japanese fighters.

 

According to Saito, FEG stayed afloat in recent years thanks to the money it received from its TV broadcasts of Dynamite!! events, which could explain why DREAM decided to pull the plug on a March show in Korea after a TV deal fell through at the last minute.

 

Apparently the PUJI Capital investment deal they were touting as being their secret weapon to defeat the UFC in a global MMA war has taken longer than expected to finalize and if the money that was promised to them by the financial backer doesn't come soon, the organization will be forced to cancel its planned K-1 MAX Koshien and DREAM 16 events.

 

Saito says if the PUJI deal falls through, the ramifications will be much worse than cancelled shows, it could mean "the end" of FEG.

Sim, até é sabido há muito que mesmo em audiências o K-1 é muito superior ao DREAM. Mas tenho pena se acabar, porque até gosto de ver os combates deles, sem os wrestlers todos que contaminaram o mma americano.
