Come at me y'all.

Jack Wilshere confirms he injured Tottenham's Ryan Mason

Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has confirmed he was responsible for Ryan Mason suffering an injury in training for England.

Tottenham breakthrough star Mason was forced to pull out of the June international fixtures, after picking up a knock last week.

Wilshere told the London Evening Standard he was at fault for Mason not being involved. He said: “It was a collision. I had the ball and slipped, our knees came together and unfortunately he came off worse.”

The Arsenal star's reputation could not have possibly been much lower before this among Spurs fans, after he branded Tottenham 's***' at the Gunners' 2014/15 FA Cup winners parade, an action which saw him land an FA misconduct charge.

Wilshere attempted to play down his exuberance, telling the paper: "I grew up at Arsenal and I love the fans, but believe it or not, I’ve actually got family who are Tottenham fans so it’s nothing personal against them, it was just a bit of fun."

As for the players, Wilshere admitted he is not popular among the Spurs contingent while on international duty, adding: "A few of the lads gave me a bit of banter about it. The Tottenham players? No, they don’t talk to me!"

Wilshere is unhappy about his FA charge, but if the midfielder is not exaggerating the cold shoulder he gets from Spurs players, then addressing his actions may be the organisation's first step at trying to repair the poor relations, or at least prevent them from worsening.

The Arsenal midfielder has until 6pm on Tuesday to respond to the FA charge, but may decided having said his piece in the press, to accept it and move on.

O Wilshere tem o que o diferencia de todos os outros jovens jogadores. Banhos turcos de hype.

Jack Wilshere comes of age for England with 'smokin' man of the match performance

After last week's trip to Dublin turned out to be a perfect cure for insomnia England dramatically upped the entertainment in a thrilling qualifying victory over Slovenia.

And just as Jack Wilshere had been one of the few bright spots in a disappointing friendly so he turned out to be England's star man again today.

Two stunning goals from Wilshere put England ahead after Slovenia had made the most of some disastrous defending to take a first-half lead. The home side briefly drew level through a Nejc Pecnik header before Wayne Rooney scored his 48th goal for England to secure a victory that puts Roy Hodgson's men in a commanding position at the top of Group F.

Though Adam Lallana's introduction at half-time gave the visitors additional attacking purpose it was the Arsenal man who deserved the plaudits, not just for his goals but for an all-round midfield performance that showed attacking endeavour blended with responsibility in defence. Questions as to whether his best position is at the base of a midfield diamond seem null and void now; he used the space his deeper role gave him to create havoc for Slovenia.

With Wilshere having hit form for Arsenal at the back end of last season too we may well be about to reach a time when we no longer need to ask if he will fulfill his potential but when we wonder just how good he can be.

People don't rate Wilshere...
