Qual é a diferença entre restricted e unrestricted?

unrestricted: o jogador aceita a proposta que quiser.

restricted: se a equipa actual igualar a proposta feita por uma outra equipa, o jogador é obrigado a ficar. Por exemplo, o contrato do Josh Smith foi proposto pelos Grizzlies na época passada, mas os Hawks igualaram a proposta e como era restricted teve de ficar.

Nets Unlikely to Make Big Free Agent Move

 

They’ve said it more than once, that they won’t be trying to sign one of the big free agents this summer. Instead, they’ll wait for the dust to settle and see what bargains are left. No doubt they’ll be looking for a big man and among the names being circulated are Channing Frye, Chris Wilcox, Melvin Ely, even Mikki Moore. Teams can pursue players starting Wednesday and sign them beginning July 8.

Thorn suggested that the team could offer two max deals in 2010 "if we so choose."

 

He also left open the possibility of restocking the team's roster this year by trading some of New Jersey's seven expiring contracts, and bypassing their 2010 plans, if they can land the right player.

The Cavaliers will search for a tall wing this summer that will allow LeBron James shift to the power forward position.

Gordon, Villanueva Moving Towards Deals With Detroit

 

Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva flew to Detroit on Wednesday morning for a meeting with Pistons president Joe Dumars.

 

Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports is reporting that the pair are "moving rapidly toward deals" with the club.

 

Both Gordon and Villaneuva are unrestricted free agents, meaning that they are free to sign with any team they wish without Chicago and Milwaukee respectively having any say.
