Os Timberwolves serão uma league pass team, e diria que durante a season procuram trocar o Pek e o Martin (pelo menos) pois não fazem sentido neste movimento de juventude na equipa. Não sei também a situação do Thaddeus na equipa.

Não sei que fazem com a situação do Rubio mas imagino que receba a extension.

Equipa jovem, com tremendo potencial mas que, em virtude dessa mesma juventude e pelo facto de estarem numa conferência extremamente competitiva não passarão disso mesmo, uma equipa para o show e seguir com curiosidade. Outra equipa que tenho curiosidade em ver são os Kings, sobretudo se acabarem por fazer um negócio que estou a ver em perspectiva, trade pelo Rondo.

Pau Gasol, Bulls Believe He Can Thrive Defensively In Thibodeau's System

 

Pau Gasol believes the Chicago Bulls' system on defense will maximize his attributes on that end of the floor.

 

The Bulls won't have Gasol guarding "stretch four" forwards on the perimeter and will allow him to use his length to defend the rim.

 

"I've always been more of an offensive-minded player," Gasol said. "But my shot blocking I think always has been a little under the radar. With this defense, I'm going to be in the paint a lot protecting the rim. I think I'm going to have a pretty good season defensively. This group of guys covers so much ground. There's a lot of length and athleticism and activity. That makes it easier for everyone."

 

"He can do better," Tom Thibodeau said of Gasol. "He has done well, but I think he can be great. That's what I want him to be. He has great length. He has great timing. He's smart. He can anticipate. He's still not communicating as well as he's capable of, but he has done well thus far."

 

"This system is all based on activity and intensity," Gasol said. "Just picking up that fact and then what's going to make our defense great is working together and communicating. That's what we're trying to build."

Thibodeau Wants Bulls To Get Into Mind-Set Like Spurs

 

Tom Thibodeau is looking for his core players to get in a mindset similar to the San Antonio Spurs.

 

In the two preseason games the Spurs played overseas last week, veteran Tim Duncan played 33 and 35 minutes, while Tony Parker played 35 and 36.

 

‘‘I’m watching San Antonio, and they’re going after it,’’ Thibodeau said. ‘‘Parker, Duncan, they’re playing huge minutes right off the start. I think it’s a strong message what they’re saying right now. They’re preparing themselves to defend their championship. And so in order to get that way from them, you’re going to have to wrestle it away from them. They’re not just going to give it away. Your mind-set has to be right.’’

 

Thibodeau singled out Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah.

 

‘‘Oh, no, they’re working hard enough,’’ he said. ‘‘It’s getting ready to play in games. You’re going to have timing and conditioning by playing together.’’

Derrick Rose 'Numb' To Thibodeau's Quest For Perfection

 

Derrick Rose isn't upset with Tom Thibodeau's criticism of the Chicago Bulls, but he also doesn't agree with it.

 

“Not at all,’’ Rose said. “Everybody has their own opinion. As a coach, his standards are going to be high, very high, just knowing who he is. For the team, all we can do is get better every day, get the most out of every day and try to get better individually.’’

 

Asked if Thibodeau’s push for perfection year after year gets tiresome, Rose said, “No, I’m numb to it now. I’m used to it. Like [Tuesday], we didn’t even speak about it. We know what we have to do. It’s only one goal, and we can’t let anything get in the way of that goal.’’

 

Thibodeau said one major concern was not letting the Bulls fall into the trap of assuming they can just flip the switch on at the start of the regular season and make reservations for the Eastern Conference finals.

 

“I don’t want them to fool themselves,’’ Thibodeau said. “To me, the big thing is understanding what goes into winning and how you practice and prepare and the work that’s necessary to put into it to get yourself in great shape.

 

“That’s something you do every day. When you shortcut that process — I’ve been around a long time — I know it doesn’t work. I’ve tried to make that clear. When you watch film, it tells you a lot. For the team to function well, everyone has to do their part.

 

“I’m looking at everything. Who is taking plays off? Who is doing their job? Who is making multiple effort? Who is in great shape? Who is in poor shape? Why are we not functioning well? The regular season will be here before we know it. We have to be ready.’’

Michael Jordan Disagrees With Players' Preference For Shorter Regular Season

 

Michael Jordan, owner of the Charlotte Hornets, was shocked and a bit bewildered to hear LeBron James and Dirk Nowitzki suggest on Wednesday that they would like to see the NBA shorten its regular season from 82 games.

 

"I love both of those guys but as an owner who played the game, I loved playing,'' Jordan said. "If I wasn't playing 82 games, I still would've been playing somewhere else because that's the love for the game I had. As a player, I never thought 82 games was an issue.

 

"But if that's what they want to do, we as owners and players can evaluate it and talk about it. But we'd make less money as partners. Are they ready to give up money to play fewer games? That's the question because you can't make the same amount of money playing fewer games.''

 

James and Nowitzki both believed players would benefit from shorter seasons, while Nowitzki suggested a season in the mid-60s.

 

Jordan also disagreed with the experiment of shortening individual games by four minutes. The NBA presented the 44-minute game to the owners as an idea but not something that the league is seriously considering instituting.

 

"I would never shorten the game by four minutes,'' said Jordan, "unless guys were having physical issues.

 

"It's not like football. We don't really have to worry about concussions and some of the physical damage that football players deal with after they retire. I can understand football players wanting to play fewer games from a physical standpoint. But basketball's not the same. I'm not diminishing the fact that we go through a grueling season. But I wouldn't want to shorten the game or play 15-20 fewer games.''

Dos jogadores que mais mudou a minha opinião sobre ele. Passou de não o suportar para ser o meu PF preferido a seguir ao Aldridge.

Mais uma vitoria dos Bulls, mais uma recuperaçao de 20 pontos.

 

A 1ª parte foi absolutamente má e a segunda unidade então foi completamente horrivel. Pura e simplesmente deixaram de conseguir marcar, alem de estarem completamente a jogar cada um para seu lado, com uma falta de sintonia gritante e com imensa falta de movimento de bola. A rever e muito trabalho tem o Thibs pela frente.

 

No 3º periodo mais do mesmo.

 

No quarto periodo os Bulls chegaram a estar a perder 50-70, ate que o Butler decide fazer 20 dos ultimos 22 pontos dos Bulls e carregá-los á vitoria, com a cereja no topo do bolo a ser um buzzer de 3.

 

Valeu por isso, e por mais boas indicações do Rose com as suas tipicas jogadas de ir para o cesto e sofrer falta para o 2+1.

 

De resto, tal como frente ao Nuggets, a equipa continua a sofrer bastante a nivel ofensivo em largos periodos do jogo, e a falta de entrosamento dos homens do banco ainda é uma evidencia.

 

Depois deste jogo, Thibs deve ter ficado com mais uns cabelos brancos.
