Manny Publicado 24 Abril 2012 QPR Appoint Former Man City Technical Director Queens Park Rangers Football Club have announced the appointment of Mike Rigg as the club's new Technical Director. Rigg, 43, arrives at Loftus Road having left Manchester City as Technical Director, which he held since June 2008. The move sees Rigg reunited with Mark Hughes, with whom he worked at the Etihad Stadium, as well as at Blackburn Rovers and the Welsh national team. Speaking exclusively to www.qpr.co.uk, Rigg, commented: "When I sat down with the owners and Mark recently they sold the project at Queens Park Rangers to me. “I see where they want to take the club and it is something I want to be a part of. "I have worked with Mark in a number of different roles so I have a very good understanding of what he wants and what he needs. "Player acquisition is a big part of football and it is where an enormous amount of investment is made. That's where we must get it right. "My role involves a mixture of looking at the immediate needs for the Football Club as well as trying to make sure we have a long-term plan in place for bringing players through into the First Team." Rigg's main responsibilities will be to identify talent at every age group and in due course recruit such talent to the club. QPR CEO, Philip Beard, added: "This is a key appointment for the short and long term future of the Football Club. "Mike has a proven track record at both domestic and international level and having worked closely with Mark in the past, knows how the Manager works and the standards he sets. "This appointment outlines the club's commitment to building for the future, in support of the First Team, as well as our ever-improving Academy set-up. "We are committed to nurturing our own home-grown players over the coming years and part of Mike's remit will be to do that, as well as unearthing previously undiscovered talent to go straight into the First Team set-up." Rigg had previously held roles as Academy Manager of Sheffield Wednesday; Technical Director for the Welsh FA; and Chief Scout at Blackburn Rovers. http://www.fcbusiness.co.uk/news/article/newsitem=1760/title=qpr+appoint+former+man+city+technical+director http://www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2745726,00.html http://www.qpr.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10373~2746935,00.html Compartilhar este post Link para o post

Or vice versa. “They also feel there is not enough attention to detail and tactics. One common complaint is little or no practice defending set-pieces. There are question marks about the coaching and how much the players are improving through the input of the staff.” :adeus: Compartilhar este post Link para o post

Tugax. Publicado 25 Abril 2012 Championship clubs vote in favour of Financial Fair Play Championship clubs making losses of more than £6m will be fined millions of pounds or put under a transfer embargo from the 2014-15 season. Three of the 24 clubs voted against new regulations to limit investment from owners and curb total spending. The changes will also prevent owners from funding their clubs through loans. Football League chairman Greg Clarke said: "They will begin to lay the foundations for a league of financially self-sustaining football clubs." Owners will be allowed to invest £6m next season, £5m the year after, then £3m in the 2014-15 season. From 2015-16, clubs will be allowed to make a £2m operating loss, as well accept a £3m investment from an owner - allowing for a £5m overall loss. Clubs promoted to the Premier League that fail to adhere to the amendments must pay a fair-play tax on their losses, ranging from one per cent on the first £100,000 to 100 per cent on anything over £10m. Non-promoted clubs will not be punished financially for failing to adhere to the new rules, but instead placed under a transfer embargo. QPR made a loss of £25.4m in their promotion season and would have been fined around £15m if the new regulations had been in place last year. Clubs relegated to the Championship will not be subject to sanctions in their first season as long as they have met their financial obligations under Premier League regulations. They would, however, have to pay the fair-play tax if they did not comply with the new regulations and got promoted. The new regulations are based on Uefa's break-even model of Financial Fair Play and come after the Football League's research revealed the 72 clubs of the Championship, League One and League Two are on course to accumulate £2bn of debt. And chairman Clarke is happy the trend is to be reversed after the successful vote on Wednesday morning. He said: "On the pitch we have three exciting, competitive divisions with crowds at their highest levels for 50 years. "But that success isn't necessarily being reflected on our clubs' balance sheets and we have to remedy that situation or face an uncertain future. "I'd like to commend the Championship clubs for the courageous decision they have taken today. "It means that for the first time, all 72 Football League clubs have agreed to take concerted action towards controlling their financial destiny." Youth investment and accounting charges from past spending on players and stadium-building will not be included. Leagues One and Two will continue to limit spending on wages to a proportion of turnover. BBC Compartilhar este post Link para o post

Mister Master Publicado 28 Abril 2012 Lambert - Villa link unfair Norwich boss admits he can't stop the speculation Norwich City manager Paul Lambert believes it is 'extremely unfair' to have been linked with replacing Aston Villa boss Alex McLeish at the end of the season. McLeish is under pressure at Villa Park after struggling to win over the supporters following his switch from local rivals Birmingham City last summer. He is also battling to keep Villa in the Premier League after a run of one win in 13 games has left the club just three points outside the relegation zone. Speculation has claimed that Lambert, who has impressed in taking Norwich from League One to the top flight, is being lined up as McLeish's replacement. However, Lambert has brushed off the rumours and believes it is unfair to speculate on him replacing his fellow Scot at Villa. Unfair "Speculation about players is something you can never do anything about. It happens with managers as well and you can never stop that," the Norwich manager told a press conference. "If my players get linked with other teams, there is not a thing I can do about that. It is the same situation about myself. "However, it is extremely unfair with me being linked with Aston Villa when they have got a really good manager up there who is doing everything he can to stay in the league. "It is an unfair comment for me to say anything on that." Compartilhar este post Link para o post
