kareca Publicado 9 Junho 2008 Pedro Botelho - Arsenal’s New Wing Wizard In the summer of 2007 Arsenal signed Brazilian left midfielder Pedro Roberto Silva Botelho from Figueirense. Pedro came to Arsenal in January 2007 on a two week trial . and in his time here he featured in a Under 18s game, Arsenal were impressed but he returned to Brazil where he finished the season. But we would go back in for him, in July 2007 a deal was reached to buy him for a fee thought to be around £1 million pounds, work permit issues meant he couldn’t play for us straight away so he followed the same fate as Carlos Vela, going out on loan to Arsenal’s link club Salamanca, but due to issues in Spain he cant link up with them till he turned 18, so he has been training with former club Figueirense. A tall classy skillful left sided player, he can play left back, left midfield, central midfield or even as a left sided striker in a 4-3-3 formation, also very good on set pieces, both taking and getting on the end of them. In December 2007 Pedro turned 18 and he came over to train during the Winter break getting to know his team mates better, he also featured during our open training sessions where fans could watch him play. Since January, where his registration forms were completed and he was able to pull on the Salamanca shirt, he has featured alot, starting off playing as a left back in his first game, he was moved forward to play as a winger, where he has thrived, the highlight so far came on Saturday where his pace and skills won Salamanca three points, as he raced into the box, and was kicked down for a penalty which was converted. His posses all the qualities needed to be a superb winger, he likes to start in a wide position, and then either come inside or stick to the touch line, he is full of tricks and skills as well as pace, his intelligence on the ball is amazing, he is left footed but is starting to use his right more and more. The only downside to his game is that he is very light weight, he needs some time to develop and with some work in the gym he can be a real asset. 3vffmJEaUEw Compartilhar este post Link para o post
kareca Publicado 10 Junho 2008 Arsenal emerge as favourites for prized Ramsey signing Arsène Wenger's record in developing young talent may prove the decisive factor Almost every football-mad teenager in Britain would love the chance to choose between three of the Premier League's leading clubs but for Aaron Ramsey, who has been in that privileged position since Saturday night, picking one from Arsenal, Manchester United and Everton must also have felt like an ordeal. While getting on to a private jet to see Arsène Wenger is the stuff of dreams, making such a crucial decision at the age of 17 is more likely to induce sleepless nights. At least a remedy was close at hand last night as the Cardiff City midfielder appeared to be on the verge of finalising his future, with Arsenal emerging as the favourites to secure his signing ahead of Everton and then Manchester United. Both United and Everton were expected to make one final attempt to turn Ramsey's head, however, something that the Welshman will no doubt have anticipated following the gruelling but exhilarating events of the past nine days. Ever since Ramsey returned to Cardiff airport at the beginning of the month, following Wales's friendly with Holland in Rotterdam, almost every mobile phone call and text message he has received has concerned where he will play next season. Those close to Ramsey claim he has a wonderful temperament and is not fazed by anything on the pitch, though it is difficult to believe he has felt comfortable being the subject of such intense speculation. The frenzy surrounding Ramsey went into overdrive last Tuesday when Manchester United, to the surprise of just about everyone other than Manchester United, issued a statement on their website claiming that the Premier League champions were "delighted to announce it has agreed terms with Cardiff City for the transfer of Aaron Ramsey subject to terms being agreed and the player passing a medical". Cardiff subsequently pointed out they had received three bids for Ramsey and that he had been given permission to speak to two of the clubs. Two would soon become three when Everton followed Arsenal's £5m offer, leaving United looking as though they had jumped the gun, although perhaps not without intention. By placing their interest in the public domain, and making it look as though the deal was sealed, United had cranked up the pressure on Ramsey's shoulders. To make things more difficult, Cardiff made it clear they would rather Ramsey joined United than Arsenal or Everton because the Championship club had been promised the player would return to Ninian Park on a season-long loan. Ramsey, his parents, and his advisers were keen to look at the broader picture, however, and 24 hours later those three parties were in David Moyes's company and considering the advantages of joining a club where there would be first-team opportunities. While the latter will always be of primary concern to a young player eager to establish himself, parents are also likely to be swayed by knowing that their son will have no problems off the field. Meeting the manager face-to-face is thought to be crucial to that process and United may well come to regret that Sir Alex Ferguson was on holiday when Ramsey visited the club's Carrington training facilities on Friday, 24 hours after his meeting with Moyes. Wenger was also out of the country, but, at Arsenal's expense, the Ramsey family were flown to Switzerland on a private jet on Saturday morning to meet the Frenchman for lunch. It was familiar territory for Wenger, with the Arsenal manager having persuaded Cesc Fábregas and Theo Walcott among others that their development as a player would be safest in his hands. He was also able to give Ramsey assurances he would not go out on loan. With personal terms at all three interested clubs never going to be an issue - Ramsey need not worry about working again once he has signed his first contract as a Premier League player - the teenager could contemplate the best decision for his career as he flew back to south Wales on Saturday night. It has been a testing period for Ramsey, although those pupils he sat alongside when taking his GCSEs last year would gladly swap places. Compartilhar este post Link para o post
kareca Publicado 18 Junho 2008 Arsenal Targeting Plymouth Starlet Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is reportedly interested in signing Plymouth Argyle's £1 million-rated teenage striker Aaron Spear. Arsene Wenger, who has already succeeded in beating off competition from Premier League rivals Manchester United, Liverpool and Everton to sign Cardiff City's wonderkid Aaron Ramsey for £5million, is now targeting another young Aaron, according to reports. Aaron Spear, a 15-year-old forward, is the latest prodigy to attract Wenger's attention as the Gunners' boss continues to plan for the future. Wenger's emphasis on bringing young talent to the Emirates Stadium is well known, but he may have more competition on his hands with Spear. The teenager has already held talks with Newcastle United's executive director, Dennis Wise, and FA Cup winners Portsmouth are also said to be keen on taking Spear east along the south coast. Plymouth's manager, Paul Sturrock, would like to keep his best players at Home Park, but has made it known that he is prepared to listen to offers if the price is right. Vai Arsene  ___________________________________________________________________________ Roma In Furious Attack On Sir Alex Ferguson Roma technical director Bruno Conti has unleashed a furious attack on Sir Alex Ferguson, calling the Manchester United manager a hypocrite after he poached one of Italy’s brightest young talents from the Giallorossi. Support striker Davide Petrucci is regarded as one of the best young players of his generation, and has been labelled by some as the “new Francesco Totti”. However as he was still under age, Petrucci had not signed a professional contract with Roma, and Manchester United nipped in to poach the 16-year-old prodigy for a miserly £200,000, offering him £95,000 per year, plus all expenses paid for him to fly home to Italy on a regular basis. This transfer has infuriated the Calcio community, who have ganged up on Man Utd for stealing the youngster off Roma. Giallorossi technical director has now launched a ferocious attack on Sir Alex Ferguson, accusing him of double standards, following the manager’s criticism of Real Madrid’s methods in trying to sign Cristiano Ronaldo. “They complain about Ronaldo and then did the same thing with David,” an absolutely seething Conti told the Gazzetta dello Sport. “His father Stefano has disappointed me. I will not be told any more lies. As for the boy, I wish him all the best in the world.” English clubs have long been criticised by foreign clubs for stealing under-age players, many of these coming from Italy. Reggina’s 15-year-old prospect Vincenzo Camilleri was snapped up by Chelsea in February, Atalanta’s teenage talent Fabio Zamblera by Newcastle Utd, while a few years back Parma-duo Giuseppe Rossi and Arturo Lupoli were signed by Man Utd and Arsenal respectively. This led Palermo’s outspoken President Maurizio Zamparini to famously brand English team’s as “pirates”. -> :medinho: Compartilhar este post Link para o post

kareca Publicado 22 Junho 2008 Trio Chase Van Der Vaart Dutch midfielder Rafael van der Vaart has become a transfer target for Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United, according to reports. Whilst Chelsea have already been linked with a move for the Hamburg man, the News of the World has today reported that Liverpool have now also joined the chase for the midfielder. Van der Vaart, 25, who signed for Hamburg from Ajax in 2005, is also a regular in the Dutch national side and was part of the Holland team that crashed out of Euro 2008 in last night’s defeat to Russia. Despite this it is thought he may find himself playing in the Premier League next season with Manchester United also thought to be interested as they eye up potential replacements for Cristiano Ronaldo. Should van der Vaart opt to leave Hamburg it is thought a fee of £15 million would be enough to secure his services. Whilst this sum would be no problem for a Chelsea side funded by Roman Abramovich and a United side, funded by the possible sale of Ronaldo, the fee might just price Liverpool out of the market. Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez is already having difficulties in the transfer market. His proposed signing of Gareth Barry is yet to be confirmed as the two sides cannot agree a fee and Xabi Alonso’s proposed transfer to Juve is also yet to take place. Chelsea, meanwhile, have no such financial worries and with Frank Lampard rumoured to be leaving Stamford Bridge, the Holland man may be seen as an ideal replacement. The same can be side of Manchester United who should they sell Ronaldo are likely to receive a world record fee for the winger from Real Madrid. Whether van der Vaart would be an adequate replacement is yet to be seen. Compartilhar este post Link para o post

Rui Pena Publicado 24 Junho 2008 Tottenham plan to replace Robinson with £10m Gomes Tottenham Hotspur are in pursuit of Heurelho Gomes, the £10m-rated PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper, and hope that Gilberto, his Brazil team-mate, can persuade him to swap Holland for north London. The left-back Gilberto moved to White Hart Lane from Hertha Berlin during the January transfer window and, although he has yet to make an impact and will compete with Gareth Bale for a starting place next season, he has tried to sell the merits of the club to Gomes. The goalkeeper, whose arrival would spell the end for Paul Robinson, is already familiar to Tottenham fans, having saved a penalty from Jermaine Jenas in PSV's shoot-out victory over Spurs in the Uefa Cup last 16 in March. Tottenham appear to have been priced out of the market for the Espanyol goalkeeper Carlos Kameni and want to drive the price down for Gomes. The club maintain a serious interest in the Real Zaragoza striker Diego Milito and also hope to sign Lassana Diarra from Portsmouth and David Bentley from Blackburn Rovers. Middlesbrough are closing in on Didier Digard, Paris St. Germain's 21-year-old midfield enforcer, and his £4m transfer is expected to be finalised by the end of the week. The Zenit St Petersburg manager, Dick Advocaat, has said the club will not stand in Andrei Arshavin's way if he wants to leave. "I think he has some clubs in his mind, some in England and others in Spain, because they are the only two countries he would like to play in," he said. Compartilhar este post Link para o post
