cadete Publicado 26 Agosto 2009 o Bischoff foi para a Academica... lixado foi o gajo do West Ham que foi apunhalado nas pernas... Thoughts with Davenport The manager has led the support for Calum Davenport with the 26-year-old stable in hospital on Monday Gianfranco Zola has reiterated the support of everybody at West Ham United for Calum Davenport who was still in a stable condition on Monday. The club initially received positive news on Sunday about the condition of the 26-year-old defender, who received stab wounds in an incident in the early hours of Saturday morning. The matter is the subject of an ongoing police investigation. Davenport's mother, who was also injured during the incident, is said to be recovering well. Following Sunday's Barclays Premier League fixture with Tottenham Hotspur, Zola said the thoughts of everyone were with the player at this time. "I said it before the match that we are very sorry for what happened to him. We imagine what he has been through and we are close to him. Hopefully, he will get better very quickly. "The doctor told me that the situation is stable and he's okay and, obviously, the situation will become clearer in the next few days. For the moment, the situation is stable." Club staff are maintaining close contact with the medical team treating the player. Al Fahim completes Pompey buy-out Arab businessman Sulaiman Al Fahim has completed his takeover of Premier League strugglers Portsmouth. The 32-year-old has become the club's new sole owner after a buy-out believed to be worth £60m. "Sulaiman Al Fahim welcomes this agreement and looks forward to helping the club build on its impressive history," his spokesman said. Al Fahim had already been named Pompey chairman after passing the Premier League's fit and proper person test. Portsmouth released a statement saying: "The chairman of the club would like to extend his gratitude to the players, staff and supporters of Portsmouth FC who have shown an extraordinary level of commitment and loyalty to this great club." A source close to outgoing owner Alexandre "Sacha" Gaydamak told the BBC: "Sacha is delighted the deal has been finalised and is really pleased the club can now move forward in the best possible way. "He would also like to thank Portsmouth's supporters for their continuing loyalty to the team and wishes them all the best for the future." The news comes a week after the club revealed it was in a talks with a new consortium led by chief executive Peter Storrie. Al Fahim is the sole owner of Al Fahim Asia Associates, the company that now officially owns Portsmouth. He agreed to buy Pompey from Gaydamak in May after the Franco-Russian announced he wanted to sell because he was unable to devote sufficient time to club. He finally completed a period of financial and commercial due diligence of the club last month. The Premier League also confirmed it had given the deal the go-ahead. Al Fahim takes over a club in turmoil both on and off the field. Paul Hart's men have lost all three of their league games this season, scoring just one goal. The club were forced to sell England internationals Glen Johnson and Peter Crouch this summer to reduce a reported debt of £44m, while centre-back Sylvain Distin is believed to be on the verge of a move to Everton. Al Fahim was the initial figurehead of the Abu Dhabi United Group when they took control of Manchester City in the summer of 2008, although he is no longer involved at Eastlands. The Croatia international began his career with Dinamo Zagreb, where he made his debut at the age of 16 and captained the side to a league and Super Cup double in 2003. The 25-year-old joined rivals Hajduk Split in January 2005, earning another championship medal in his first season. The midfielder moved to Fratton Park in the summer of 2008 and played a total of 100 games, scoring 12 times in all competitions. Compartilhar este post Link para o post
Mister Master Publicado 2 Setembro 2009 Richard Dunne believes he can be part of a Champions League challenge at Villa. The Irish international, who sealed a move from Manchester City, has been impressed by the club's year-on-year improvement and he wants to help them go a step further. He told AVTV: "I'm delighted. It's a great opportunity for me. Obviously Aston Villa have improved each season recently. "Hopefully I can be part of a squad that can challenge for a Champions League spot. "I think with Aston Villa, with the experience they would have gained from last season - they went so close for so long at the top end and the manager has bought in some new players into the squad this year - maybe it might help us go that bit further." The central defender admitted he was relieved to finally complete his move. He added: "I came on Friday and passed my medical and I thought it would be a straightforward day for me. "I think there was just a lot of pressure on a lot of people with so many deals going through but I'm just really pleased that finally we have it all done."
