Estes 43 jogos tinham sido marcados para ai ha 2 semanas. Supostamente aconteceriam mesmo que a epoca começasse atrasada...

A previsao e' um pouco antecipada, mas segundo o que toda a gente diz, a reuniao que houve hoje era talvez a que decidia se a epoca vai acontecer ou nao.

Aconteça o que acontecer os calendários são feitos como se nada se passasse, por isso foi feito o calendário de pré-época e o calendário da época regular. Se houver novidades depois serão feitas as devidas mudanças ao calendário. Se a época começasse atrasada não iriam fazer a pré-época, pelo menos como prevista.

O Kenyon Martin é que assinou pelos Xinjiang Flying Tigers mas mesmo que o lockout acabe, só pode voltar à NBA depois de terminar a liga chinesa em Março.

Tony Parker, proprietário do ASVEL conseguiu hoje um grande reforço para a sua equipa que compete na Pro-A de França. O mais recente atleta contratado para a equipa gaulesa vem da NBA e dá pelo nome de... Tony Parker.

 

"Hoje, posso dizer que assinei pelo ASVEL e irei jogar na minha equipa enquanto se mantiver o lockout. A decisão estava tomada desde Segunda-feira, e para mim é uma grande honra regressar a França, sendo que escolher o ASVEL foi a decisão mais lógica. Tive uma oferta milionária da China e outra de Barcelona, mas desde o início que dizia que queria jogar em França."

 

Tal como já tinha sido avançado, o base francês irá jogar pelo salário mínimo da liga de €1.500 por mês, e terá pago do seu próprio bolso o seguro desportivo necessário.

 

A estreia de TP9 na Pro-A deverá acontecer na segunda jornada do campeonato, frente à equipa de Filipe da Silva, o Paris-Levallois.

NBA cancels first two weeks of season

 

NEW YORK – The NBA canceled the first two weeks of its 2011-12 season after failing to reach a new labor agreement with its players.

 

“We remain very, very apart on all issues,” Stern said after league representatives met with Players Association officials for about seven hours on Monday in a last-ditch attempt to save the Nov. 1 scheduled start of the season.

 

Stern said the cancellations guarantee the league will have a shortened season for the first time since the 1998-99 season when another owner-imposed lockout limited NBA teams to playing just 50 games. The cancellations include all games scheduled through Nov. 14.

 

“With every day that goes by, there will be further reductions on what’s left of the season,” Stern said.

 

Stern hinted that the owners’ proposals to the players might only get worse so they can recoup losses incurred by the cancellation of games. Many players have long expected the league would wait until the players started missing paychecks to see if the union would settle for a less favorable deal.

 

“They are more dug in than before, but it goes back to a comment David made to me several years ago,” said Players Association executive director Billy Hunter. “ ‘This is what my owners have to have.’ And I said, ‘The only way you’re going to get that, is if you’re prepared to lock us out for a year or two.’ And he’s indicated to me that they’re willing to do it.

 

“So my belief is that everything he’s done is demonstrating that he’s following that script.”

 

The two sides spent Sunday night and much of Monday negotiating system issues that had the league’s owners pushing for harsh taxes for big-spending teams, a lowering of the midlevel salary-cap exception and the narrowing of players’ “Larry Bird” exception rights. The biggest obstacle in negotiations for a new collective bargaining agreement had been the split of the league’s revenue, or basketball-related income (BRI), but Stern said two sides probably could bridge that gap once they clear the “system hurdles” – primarily the structure of the league’s salary cap.

 

The owners want to reduce the annual midlevel exception for free agents from $5.8 million to $3 million with a maximum contract length of two years, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. The owners also want to limit the maximum length of contracts to four years for players re-signed by their own teams and three years for players joining new teams, sources said. The union didn’t want to go below five and four years. The current maximums are six years for players re-signed by their own teams and five for other players.

The owners also want to greatly penalize teams that exceed the salary cap, sources told Y! Sports, proposing that teams won’t be allowed to pay the luxury tax more than twice in five years. Tax-paying teams also could be restricted from using the Bird exception to re-sign their own players.

 

While Stern claims the owners are no longer seeking a hard salary cap, Players Association president Derek Fisher(notes) said the proposed penalties for tax-paying teams will essentially act the same as a hard cap on player salaries.

 

“You can’t say you’re moving away from a hard cap, but then do everything else that brings about the same result,” Hunter said. “You’ve compressed salaries, and then you’ve fixed it so nobody is going to spend. You’ve got a hard-cap situation. That’s the reality.

 

“If it quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck, it’s a duck. The tax system they wanted to impose would create a quadrupling of the tax.”

 

NBA owners have sought to reduce the players’ share of BRI from the 57 percent they received in the previous labor agreement. The players have proposed dropping to 53 percent while the owners’ last formal proposal wanted a reduction to 47 percent.

 

Stern suggested last week the two sides agree to a 50-50 revenue split, but the players balked, not wanting to accept such a deep cut without the owners first preserving many of the old system issues from the previous CBA. Stern said Monday that the players union originally floated the 50-50 idea, which Players Association officials disputed.

 

“We have a gulf that separates us,” Stern said.

The two sides don’t have any future meetings scheduled, but will stay in communication, Stern said.

 

Though both Stern and Hunter expressed optimism the two sides would reach agreement before the entire season is lost, some team executives fear the league and union will now dig in and progress will be even harder to come by.

 

“I think the best-case scenario now is 50 games, but I can see the whole season gone,” one team general manager told Yahoo! Sports.

 

Hunter plans to meet with players in Los Angeles on Thursday. “Unfortunately maybe we need to miss a few games for them to know there’s resolve among the players,” Hunter said.

 

With the league’s owners seeking such drastic changes to the current system, the union has understood it would have to face the threat of a damaged season.

 

“We anticipated being in this situation,” Fisher said, “and here we are.”

A ajuda que o lokcout está a dar na liga espanhola

 

No passado fim-de-semana começou a Fase Regular da ACB, agora conhecida por Liga Endesa. A título temporário, aquele que é considerado o melhor campeonato interno no basquetebol europeu, conta com alguns jogadores vindos directamente da NBA, em virtude do lockout que tem afectado a liga norte-americana.

 

Nesta jornada inaugural, alguns desses jogadores já deixaram uma marca muito pessoal na Liga Endesa: vamos ver quais os que mais se destacaram.

Kyle Singler, Lucentum Alicante

O extremo que aprendeu a jogar basquetebol vendo vídeos de Larry Bird foi o jogador em maior destaque na ronda de abertura da liga espanhola: 23 pontos, 32 de valorização MVP e um contributo essencial para a vitória da equipa de Alicante sobre o finalista vencido da temporada anterior, o Bizkaia Bilbao Basket. No final, Kyle Singler agradeceu o apoio dado pelo público local, ganhando mais uns pontos entre os adeptos da equipa que continuará a representar, pelo menos, até 14 de Novembro. Falta apenas um jogo para fechar a Jornada1 da Liga Endesa e, até ao momento, nenhum jogador conseguiu melhor registo estatístico que o extremo vindo da Universidade de Duke. Em Alicante, já se espera que o lockout na NBA dure um pouco mais à medida que a admiração por Singler vai crescendo de dia para dia.

 

Rudy Fernandez, Real Madrid

O extremo espanhol estreou-se pela equipa da capital. Nos seus primeiros minutos com a camisola blanca, Rudy já mostrou um pouco da sua classe, somando 12 pontos sem forçar muito, e denotando até alguma facilidade em encontrar o caminho para o cesto. No seu regresso à liga espanhola, Rudy Fernandez não demorou a mostrar algumas das suas imagens de marca: alley-oop, triplos, entradas em drible para o cesto e até um desarme de lançamento. Vindo do banco, o internacional espanhol foi importante no ampliar da vantagem do Real Madrid que acabou por vencer o Funelabrada por 18 de diferença.

Kevin Seraphin, Caja Laboral Baskonia

O poste francês contratado pelos bascos tem estado a desempenhar um importante papel na equipa de Dusko Ivanovic. Figurando no quinteto inicial, o #13 do Caja Laboral terminou o jogo inaugural da Liga Endesa com 11 pontos marcados e 3 desarmes de lançamento nos 30 minutos em que esteve em campo. Apesar de ter conquistado apenas 1 ressalto, o jovem francês revelou-se um dos jogadores mais importantes na vitória do Baskonia sobre o Cajasol. Curioso também constatar que o poste que chegou à medalha de prata no Eurobasket '11, pretende continuar no Caja Laboral toda a temporada. No final de Setembro, Seraphin disse "não penso voltar à NBA. Apenas quero jogar em Espanha e depois desta época se verá se regresso aos Estados Unidos".

NEW YORK -- If the NBA lockout forces the cancellation of the 2011-12 season, New York Knicks forward Amare Stoudemire says players will give "serious" consideration to starting their own league.

 

According to Stoudemire, the possibility of forming an alternate league already has been discussed among players.

 

"Obviously we're trying to ... get this lockout resolved. We want to play NBA basketball. But if it doesn't happen what are we gonna do? We can't just sit around and not do anything. So we have to figure out ways to now continue to play basketball at a high level against top competition and have fun doing it. So, that's the next step," Stoudemire said Tuesday night at a Manhattan Footlocker to promote his new sneaker, the Nike Air Max Sweep Thru.

 

There are, of course, many hurdles to be cleared before players get an alternate league off the ground. Among those include finding a source for player salaries, game venues, broadcast rights and player insurance, just to name a few.

 

Without addressing logistics, Stoudemire believes starting another league is an idea players will explore.

 

"If we don't go to Europe, then let's start our own league; that's how I see it," the 6-foot-11 forward/center said.

 

Stoudemire was asked to gauge "how serious" the idea is being considered.

 

"It's very, very serious. It's just a matter of us strategically coming up with a plan, a blueprint and putting it together," he said. "So we'll see how this lockout goes. If it goes one or two years, then we've got to start our own league."

 

NBA commissioner David Stern canceled the first two weeks of the 2011-12 regular season Monday night, the 102nd day of the lockout.

 

 

Stern's announcement marked just the second time in league history that a labor dispute has forced the cancellation of regular season games.

 

"We don't want to lose games at all, man," Stoudemire said. "It's something that we just really don't want to do. We want to play and play now. Obviously we can't due to the circumstances so, you never know what the future holds."

 

Stoudemire is preaching for fans and those involved with the league to be patient.

 

"I think we're pretty far apart, but the most important part is that we're trying to work to get something done," Stoudemire said earlier Tuesday while making appearances on "SportsCenter" and "ESPN First Take" at ESPN's Bristol, Conn., headquarters to promote his sneaker. "There are so many jobs at stake; their livelihoods are on the line. We'll get a deal done eventually."

 

As far as his personal future, Stoudemire reiterated that he has received offers from European clubs but hasn't seriously considered the option -- yet.

 

"I think it definitely should be considered; it could be an option," he said. "I think the next meeting is not scheduled yet, but I think after that next meeting then we can figure out where we really stand with this whole thing."

 

Stoudemire participated in a charity game in Miami earlier this month featuring LeBron James, Dwyane Wade, Chris Paul, Kevin Durant and others.

 

NBA players have played in various charity games around the country over the last few months. They are expected to continue to do so.

 

The most structured lockout event was a two-week, NBA-only league in Las Vegas hosted by longtime trainer Joe Abunassar.

 

If the lockout continues to drag on, Stoudemire believes players may eventually provide a more permanent alternative to the NBA.

 

"If it (doesn't) resolve then we're thinking about starting our own league," he said.

 

When, and if, the owners and players hold a joint news conference to announce a new collective bargaining agreement has been ratified, Stoudemire said the Knicks are prepared to contend with the Heat for a spot in the NBA Finals.

 

"We have a pretty solid team; we're pretty confident with the guys we have now," he said. "I think the moves we made this past season, bringing in Carmelo (Anthony) and Chauncey (Billups), definitely helped us get to that championship level."

Ele jogava no secundário e era bastante bom. Só o nome dava-lhe pelo menos uma oportunidade, mas duvido que ele arriscasse uma lesão.
