Krstic Signs Multi-Year Deal With CSKA Moskow

 

The exodus of centers for the Boston Celtics continues with Nenad Krstic reportedly signing a multi-year deal with a team in Europe.

 

Krstic, who along with Jeff Green, joined the Celtics after being traded from Oklahoma City in February for Kendrick Perkins and Nate Robinson, has agreed to a two-year deal worth $6 million Euros (that's about $8.76 million dollars in American currency) with CSKA Moskow which is the reigning Russian champions.

 

The 7-foot center, set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1, averaged 9.1 points and 5.3 rebounds in 24 games with the Celtics.

 

 

On Friday, I detailed the Timberwolves' draft strategies in the wake of signing Ricky Rubio to a contract. Here's the CliffsNotes version: Publicly, the team is claiming that they're likely to hang on to the pick. Privately, they're hoping that a team comes along and offers them an impact veteran -- someone such as Pau Gasol, Monta Ellis or even JaVale McGee -- for the pick.

Rubio still discussing future with Spanish club team

 

Minnesota Timberwolves draft pick Ricky Rubio says he is talking with Spanish club Barcelona about his future.

 

Rubio said "we are taking with Barcelona and we will soon see'' after Barca beat Bilbao for the Spanish league title on Tuesday night.

 

The 20-year-old Rubio has filled his trophy case with titles, but he has struggled to score this season. He lost his spot in Barcelona's starting lineup.

 

The Timberwolves selected Rubio at No. 5 in the 2009 NBA draft, but the Spanish point guard decided to stay in Spain to play.

 

The Associated Press reported earlier this month that the Timberwolves had reached a deal with Rubio for him to join the team next season.

Eu acho que ele no inicio vai sentir dificuldades, principalmente a nivel fisico vai ter de trabalhar aquele corpinho... Mas acho que o estilo de jogo na NBA pode ser melhor para ele do que o europeu...

Josh Smith is done with the Atlanta Hawks and both sides are looking for a new place for J-Smoove to call home. Although talks appear to be at an early stage, Smith reportedly told "league friends" the Nets, Rockets, Celtics and Magic are his preferred destinations. "The relationship has run its course," said one source.

 

Smith, 25, would be a difficult catch for the Nets because of the lack of tradeable assets on the roster. The team is unlikely to move Deron Williams or Brook Lopez and Smith makes $12.5 million this season plus a 15% trade kicker. "Houston has long been intrigued with Smith, but like Orlando and New Jersey, also probably doesn’t have the right pieces to make a trade," writes Adrian Wojnarowski.

Os Nets têm alguma estratégia delineada e conhecida para melhorar a equipa no próximo ano/dois anos? Algum jogador alvo preferencial, etc, depois de falharem o 'Melo.

Sei, claro, mas lembro-me que o D-Will veio com garantias do Prokhorov de que a equipa iria ser significativamente melhorada, daí ter perguntado.
