West Ham: Avram Grant despedido

O West Ham comunicou no seu site oficial o despedimento de Avram Grant, depois de o clube ter visto confirma a descida ao segundo escalão inglês, com uma derrota frente ao Wigan.
Grant, o técnico que levou o Chelsea à final da Liga dos Campeões de 2008, foi contratado no último mês de Junho, para substituir Gianfranco Zola, que tinha conseguido a manutenção apenas na última jornada. Apesar de ter assinado por quatro anos, parte após o primeiro, com o clube na II Divisão.

A equipa será orientada por Kevin Keen, um dos treinadores do clube, no último jogo do campeonato, em casa, com o Sunderland.

Quanto ao meu Arsenal, ainda chegou a prometer e chegou-se mesmo a acreditar que era possivel a vitória na liga, mas como sempre parece que no final da época algo acontece aos jogadores e deixam de saber jogar, não sei se é a inexpriência devido á idade, se a culpa é do Wenger.

Seja o que for, há que mudar de mentalidade, porque este jejum na Premier não pode continuar

Li no jornal que o Man Utd não vai contar com o Kuszczak, Owen, Brown, Gibson, Evans e Scholes (caso se retire) para a próxima época. Os três primeiros compreendo e aceito, com o Lindegaard e com a vinda do de Gea, basta subir um dos juniores. O Owen também, aliás, ainda hoje não percebo porque assinou. Já o Gibson e o Evans sou completamente contra. São jovens promessas que podem vir a ser bastante úteis durante a época, caso sejamos atacados por uma onda de lesões. Para mim fazia mais sentido a saída do Carrick e ficávamos com 4 centrais, com o O'Shea a servir de suplente ao Rafa.

 

Fala-se também do Sneijder e Ashley Young, além do de Gea, para rumarem a Old Trafford na próxima época. Isto não ia sair era muito barato...

Essa noticia do Evra já foi confirmada também há algum tempo pelo Alex Ferguson e faz todo o sentido. Eles actualmente jogam mais como equipa e trabalham mais a bola porque não tem um gajo que é decisivo á escala que o Ronaldo o era. Se o jogo tivesse muito difícil a solução era tentar explorar ao máximo a genialidade do Ronaldo, agora não, trabalham a bola e fazem posse para tentar rasgar assim a defesa contrária.

Depois de muita especulação relacionada com a continuidade de Carlos Tévez no Manchester City, o argentino concedeu uma entrevista à "Rádio de la Plata" onde admite estar de saída do clube.

"Quero sair do Manchester City", garante, sem reservas, o jogador, acrescentando: "O futebol mudou bastante para mim e nem sequer sei se serei convocado para o próximo Mundial".

Roger Johnson and Dani Alves 'top of Liverpool's defensive transfer list'

Liverpool will pin Kenny Dalglish down to a long-term contract at the end of the season and hand him a sizeable transfer budget to rebuild the defence, with Dani Alves and Roger Johnson said to be top of his wanted list.

 

Alves has recently signed a new contract at Barcelona, but it does not seem to have deterred the Reds' permanent manager in waiting - who has identified his back four as being in need of a refresh.

 

And with the club's new board keen to spent some money in a bid to force their way back into the top four, Dalglish will test Barcelona's resolve to keep their temperamental attacking full-back with a £20million bid.

 

A move for Alves appears to be little more than a pipe dream, given his long-term commitment to the Spanish champions.

 

However, Birmingham's Roger Johnson represents a more realistic target for Dalglish - who is a bid admirer of the Blues stalwart.

 

In partnership with Scott Dann, Johnson has been a big part of the St Andrews resurgence - helping the side to a first major trophy in almost half a century with their victory over Arsenal in the Carling Cup final this year.

 

The 28-year-old is coveted by a number of top-flight managers, including Gunners chief Arsene Wenger.

 

But Dalglish's determination to sign Johnson - who is said to be holding out over a new contract - appears to have put him in pole position.

ASTON VILLA are set to make an audacious move for Ben Foster if Birmingham are relegated.

 

Villa are looking for a replacement for Brad Friedel, who is expected to quit the club this summer when his contract runs out.

 

Foster, who has called a time-out on his England career, is the obvious choice.

 

City would demand at least £10 million for their goalkeeper and, although they would be reluctant to sell to their bitter rivals, deals between the Birmingham clubs have taken place regularly in the past – although usually in the opposite direction.

 

Foster, 28, is also a target of Tottenham, whose manager Harry Redknapp will be able to have another close look at him tomorrow when the clubs clash at White Hart Lane.

 

Foster has been in exceptional form since his £6m move from Manchester United a year ago and has won the club’s Player-of-the-Year award. But he expressed fears this week that City may have to sell if they fail to beat the drop.

 

Although Tottenham could match any offer for Foster, who is wanted as a replacement for the erratic Heurelho Gomes, he would almost certainly prefer to stay in the Midlands.

 

His family live there and he recently moved to the area from Cheshire.

 

So Foster will top the list of targets being drawn up by Villa boss Gerard Houllier while he recovers from heart surgery.

West Ham play Blackburn this weekend in a match they have to win to have any chance of saving themselves. They have already begun to cut costs, however, and last week joint-chairman David Gold admitted the club are scouting potential replacements for their top stars in the event of them falling through the trap door.

 

He said last week: “I’m anticipating bringing in players who are £2million- £3million. I can’t name names, but you are looking at players who might be, for example, the leading goalscorers in the Championship.

 

“If you buy two guys who can get you 25 goals each, well that’s 50 goals and gives you the basis for going straight back up.”

 

Villa are understood to be keen to pair Ba with England hitman Darren Bent, regardless of whether boss Gerard Houllier returns from his latest health scare or not.

 

Ba has scored five times in 11 appearances this season - including goals against Liverpool and Manchester City - to dispel doubts about his fitness.

Leicester City da segunda divisão inglesa, decidiu não renovar contrato com o guarda-redes português Ricardo. A imprensa britânica noticia que a decisão de deixar partir Ricardo terá surgido do treinador da equipa, Sven Goran Eriksson.
