O McGeady não é nada de extraordinário, mas era uma boa aquisição para boa parte das equipas inglesas, tirando, talvez, ali as equipas de top 7/8.

 

Já agora, em que sites, de jornais e assim, é que costumam acompanhar as notícias da Premier League?

Faz-me confusão a maneira como avalias os jogadores de futebol... O Sagna era defesa de top, o Walcott é bom a ponta-de-lança :\

Não digo que o McGeady seja um jogador world class, nao acho que tenha lugar no Man United, City ou Chelsea. Nem no Arsenal. Mas atendendo a que os extremos do Arsenal é o Gervinho e o Walcott...pá lol né ? É um bom jogador, um suplente razoável e que pode resolver jogos. É certo que só vi 1 ou 2 jogos deles na Rússia, acompanhava o gajo no Celtic, mas era um gajo que agitava com o jogo, pode ser importante em certos momentos. Só isso.

Os extremos titulares são o Walcott e o Podolski e não o Gervas. E o Walcott esta época teve bem, não é por aí que o Arsenal se deve preocupar (e o Chamberlain pode dar já o salto esta época). E digo isto não curtindo nada do Theo.

 

E o Arsenal consegue arranjar melhor que o McGeady e provavelmente mais barato. Quanto ao Sagna, têm de comprar um lateral direito titular.

O tipo tem mais talento que a maior parte da selecção irlandesa junta mas é egoísta até dizer não, tem uma capacidade de decisão ridícula e em termos tácticos, é inexistente. É daqueles gajos que levam os companheiros de equipa ao desespero e os treinadores aos limites.

 

Mas enfim, é como eu disse aí atrás, é tudo uma questão de gosto.

Nunca vi o McGeady a jogar mas no Fifa é craque.

O Mc geady tem velocidade brutal, muito habilidoso, fortíssimo no 1x1 e finaliza bem. Ora isto são aspectos essenciais para um extremo de qualidade. Ele pecava era na vertente táctica, andava um pouco perdido em campo. Daí eu dizer que o gajo com esta qualidade toda se tem ido mais cedo para um clube de TOP da EPL tinha (na minha opinião) tinha ficado grande jogador, e eventualmente uma referencia da melhor liga do mundo. Olha encaixava bem no teu Arsenal, iria ser o novo Robert Pires ;)

David Luiz deve mesmo sair do Chelsea

 

José Mourinho já foi apresentado no Chelsea e David Luiz, apesar ter vindo a público pedir a contratação do português, parece mesmo não fazer parte das contas do Special One.

 

Quem está atento à situação do brasileiro é o Paris Saint-Germain, que pode aproveitar o facto de David Luiz estar na lista de dispensas de José Mourinho. O técnico já comunicou aos dirigentes dos blues que não é fã do brasileiro, e a sua saída está a ser negociada.

 

Tal como o Paris Saint-Germain, também o Barcelona parece estar interessado no defesa central, e o Chelsea deve aproveitar a oportunidade para vender o brasileiro neste defeso. Segundo a imprensa britânica, o ex-benfiquista pode sair por cerca de 33 milhões de libras, 38 milhões de euros.

 

Com o dinheiro da transferência Mourinho pode concretizar o seu objetivo que é contratar o central do Porto Elaquim Mangala.

 

Já o PSG acredita que David Luiz e Thiago Silva poderiam formar uma das melhores duplas de centrais do mundo e parece querer garantir o brasileiro sem olhar a custos.

Aston Villa Transfer Dossier: Keeping Benteke Key to Villains Progress

 

After a season in which the threat of relegation loomed large until the middle of May, Aston Villa supporters can be forgiven for settling for mid table obscurity in the next campaign. It was a difficult first season for Paul Lambert but there were certainly plenty of positives as a number of young players established themselves in the first team and showed that the future of the club appears in safe hands.

 

Perhaps the brightest spark was provided by man mountain Christian Benteke who scored 23 goals in his debut season with the club. The Belgian led the line with a string of assured displays that had many wondering just how Villa had managed to pick him up for the bargain price of just £7m. Keeping hold of the powerful striker now becomes a priority for Lambert who will also be desperate to convince Andreas Weimann that his future belongs at Villa Park.

 

Business so far

 

Veteran goalkeeper Shay Given has confirmed that he will leave the club this summer, despite putting pen to paper on a five year deal when he arrived from Manchester City back in July 2011. The 37 year old found himself playing an unfamiliar reserve role to Brad Guzan and is now looking for a new club, while Republic of Ireland teammate Richard Dunne has also suggested he will look for pastures new.

 

What they need

 

Experience. The Villa side last season was one of the youngest in the Premier League and it showed, especially over the Christmas period that saw them conceded eight to Chelsea, four to Tottenham and three to Wigan without reply. With former captain and fan favourite Stiliyan Petrov forced to hang up his boots there is a real need for a leader in central midfield.

 

Similarly an established central defender will be high on the list for Lambert, especially if he loses Dunne in the coming months. There is a wealth of talent coming through the youth team, highlighted by Villa winning the NextGen series, but young players likes Kieran Clark, Nathan Baker, Matt Lowton and Joe Bennett will only improve with some experience alongside them.

 

Who could join

 

Montpellier's attacking midfielder Younes Belhanda, who has been previously linked with Tottenham and Arsenal, has admitted that he would be interested in joining Villa. "Aston Villa is a great club with a big history playing in the best league in the world, so let's see what will happen," said the Moroccan. The attacking midfielder can play in a number of areas and has a Ligue 1 winners medal already in his collection.

 

There have been few other names connected with a move to Aston Villa but Crewe midfielder Luke Murphy is one, while Ipswich left-back Aaron Cresswell has also been mentioned. Both are young players just making a names for themselves and would fit in with Lambert's policy. With Randy Lerner unwilling to offer huge sums of money for transfers it is unlikely that many big names arrive.

 

Who could leave

 

Villa fans will pray that there best young talent aren't plucked away by the Premier league elite but that could well be the case. Benteke has been linked with not only the best sides in England, but there have been suggestions that he could join Atletico Madrid to replace Radamel Falcao. Rumours have also emerged that Tottenham would be prepared to offer Defoe in an exchange for the young striker but hanging onto the Belgian will certainly be a priority and a statement of intent that the club are ready to push forward.

 

Dunne and Given are seemingly set to exit, while it is also likely that Darren Bent will be shown the door after failing to convince Lambert that he deserved a regular run in the first team. The former Spurs striker will be desperate to find a club where he can have regular opportunities after consistently reaching double figures in previous seasons.

 

Weimann is another that has been heavily linked with a move. The Austraian scored 12 goals last season and looked sensational when Villa played at pace and on the break. The 21 year old has been linked with Newcastle, while Liverpool are also said to be interested after he excelled against the club in the 3-1 win at Anfield.

Jermaine Pennant and Dean Whitehead are among seven players released by new Stoke City manager Mark Hughes.

 

Ex-England defender Matthew Upson, 34, long-serving Rory Delap, 36, Mamady Sidibe, 33, third-choice keeper Carlo Nash, 39, and fringe player Matthew Lund, 22, also failed to win new deals.

 

Stoke have also announced six departures from their backroom team.

 

Dave Kemp, Mark O'Connor, Paul Maxwell, Adrian Pennock, Dave Kevan and Gerry Francis have all left their roles.

 

Stoke appointed Hughes last week following the departure of fellow Welshman Tony Pulis - and it has already been reported that he would be joined by his regular backroom team.

 

Coaches Mark Bowen and Eddie Niedzwiecki have previously worked under Hughes in all his managerial roles for Wales, Blackburn Rovers, Manchester City, Fulham and Queens Park Rangers.

 

Former England captain Francis had worked for Stoke in a coaching role since 2008, while Kemp, 60, ends an association with Stoke lasting back to 2004 when he was appointed as first team coach by Pulis in 2004.

 

He left when Pulis departed the Britannia Stadium in 2005, following him to his former club Plymouth Argyle, before returning to the Potters under Pulis in October 2006, since when, apart from a season as chief scout following the arrival of Peter Reid, he has been his number two.

 

Former Arsenal winger Pennant, 30, who was once a £6.7m signing for Liverpool and played in the side beaten 2-1 by AC Milan in the 2007 Champions League final, joined Stoke from Spanish side Real Zaragoza.

 

He initially joined on loan, in 2010 and played in their FA Cup final defeat by Manchester City in 2011.

 

But he made just two appearances for the Potters last season - both in August - and spent three months of the campaign on loan with Wolves in the Championship.

 

Midfielder Whitehead, 31, was a regular squad member under Pulis but made just 12 Premier League starts in his final campaign at the Britannia Stadium.

 

Former Republic of Ireland international Delap was a key member of the Stoke team during their early seasons in the top flight.

 

His long throws became a feature of their game but, after falling out of favour, he joined Barnsley on loan in January.

 

Upson was another player who was loaned out in January, the defender playing 21 times for Brighton.
