Chargers not re-signing WR Vincent Jackson

 

A few big-name wide receivers are scheduled to be free agents this offseason, including Wes Welker, DeSean Jackson, and Reggie Wayne. And because of that, another fella will likely be hitting the market when the free-agent window opens on March 13: San Diego Chargers vet Vincent Jackson. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that even though "there is expected to be a line of teams" who want to sign Jackson, the team "will almost certainly allow Jackson to hit the free agent market next month."

 

The Chargers will be sure to let Jackson's agent know that they want to be bidders, of course, but the team won't be trying to sign him to a deal before then. He was asking for $10 million annually more than a year ago, the paper notes, and his price hasn't likely gone down.

 

The 29-year-old Jackson has been with the Chargers since the team drafted him in 2005 out in the second round out of Northern Colorado. He had 1,106 receiving yards and nine touchdowns this past season.

Um wr e das coisas que podemos trabalhar com o draft, mas se o DeSean sempre sair não me importava de ver um Jackson ou um Wayne.

A linha principal de wr que temos tem de tudo, velocidade, aceleração, experiência....

Nós é que ficamos sem 2 para a free agency. Se o Welker provavelmente fica, se não renovar franchise tag nele, o Branch é que tenho dúvidas, o Ochocinco foi uma nulidade este ano e precisamos de um vertical threath que é o Jackson. E no draft também penso que não dará para ir buscar um wr que faça logo impacto na equipa.

 

Por mim até trocávamos as 2 escolhas de 1ª ronda para ir buscar o Blackmon.

Report: Irsay to meet with Manning in next week

INDIANAPOLIS (AP)—Jim Irsay expects to meet with Peyton Manning in the next seven days, and the Colts owner tells The Indianapolis Star the return of the four-time MVP depends on his willingness to restructure his contract.

 

Manning has spent the past five months recovering from his third neck surgery in less than two years, and there have been conflicting reports about how much progress the star quarterback has made.

 

The Colts owe Manning a $28 million roster bonus by March 8.

 

Irsay tells the newspaper on Tuesday the Colts would love to have Manning finish his career in Indianapolis "if he can get healthy and we can look at doing a contract that reflects the uncertainty of the … healing process with the regeneration of the nerve."

O Manning renova por um ano com salário mais baixo, se estiver bom joga e deixa o Luck crescer, senão, retira-se os Colts não perdem muito, a nível salarial, e o Luck joga logo desde de início. É o chamado 1/2win-win.

Tenha algumas esperanças para o draft pode ser que faça sair alguns pesos mortos.

 

Não me importo de ver a equipa trabalhar no draft em algumas posições, qb e wr podem tentar arranjar uns jogador jeitosos no draft espero é que não andem a esbanjar o dinheiro todo nos fa outra vez. Na defensive of line também podem trabalhar, mas enquanto estiver lá o Castillo.....

 

 

Btw quero que se desfaçam do Asante o mais rápido possível enquanto ainda teem possibilidade de arranjaram alguma coisa por ele.

Dan Graziano of ESPN.com isn't ready to rule out the possibility of Albert Haynesworth reuniting with Jim Washburn in Philly:

 

The Eagles don't need to invite discord into their locker room at this point, so it would behoove them to be sure Washburn can really draw out his talent and motivate him to perform. But if he can, wow. Haynesworth doesn't even turn 31 until June, and when he was at his best, he was one of the best defensive linemen in the league. There's no indication that he's not healthy. His problems with Washington, New England and Tampa Bay all seem to have been attitude related. And yeah, maybe he's just a guy with a bad attitude who got his money and no longer cares about anything else. This is possible, even likely, and can't be ruled out. But sometimes, a coach and a player just click. And if Washburn could get Albert Haynesworth clicking again, the Eagles could come away with one of the steals of the offseason.
