htc Publicado 21 Fevereiro 2012 (editado) Ora bem previsões para o Lockdown: TNA World Heavyweight Championship Match Robert Roode vs. James Storm - CONFIRMADO TNA X-Division Championship Match Austin Aries vs. (? - talvez John Morrison?

Mister Master Publicado 22 Fevereiro 2012 (editado) Decade of Honor #1 (Updated 01/31/2012) - February 23, 2002….Philadelphia, PA….The Murphy Recreation Center; little did anyone know what impact that date & location would have on the wrestling world. That day, in the midst of professional wrestling void in Philadelphia, a grand risk was taken when wrestlers from across the independent wrestling landscape were gathered in one small, sweaty Rec Center to present wrestling, in all its forms, at its absolute best. That night became known as "The Era of Honor Begins"… Starting off with a bit of a violent streak between Da Hit Squad & The Christopher Street Connection, the era officially kicked off when a young Jay Briscoe took on The Amazing Red. It continued on with the likes of future ROH Champion Xavier in action, as well as Homicide, The SAT, Spanky, and Mikey Whipwreck all being involved in this inaugural event. It all built up towards two main event matches and the choice of which one would close out the event set the tone for the decade that has followed. First, the IWA-PR Intercontinental Title was on the line as Super Crazy battled the legendary Eddie Guerrero. Crazy won out that night, but the bar was set quite high for the final match and having Guerrero competing on the event certainly enhanced that "something special" feeling that had been building throughout the night. Finally, the era of honor truly began when Bryan Danielson, Low Ki, and Christopher Daniels stepped into the ring for a dream match of arguably the 3 best wrestlers from across the country. Daniels from the West Coast, Ki from the East Coast, and Danielson from the Northwest, they each brought something different to the table and the match that resulted was a hard-hitting extravaganza that exceeded all expectations. Each man fought their heart out, wearing their love for professional wrestling on their sleeve, and demonstrating a passion for their art seldom seen. Low Ki was the victorious man that night but it was the fans in attendance, the ones who experienced this special evening first-hand, who were the true winners. It was a night something special was born, a memory you carry around for the rest of your life, and the Era of Honor that was born that night has lived on for ten years. Mister Master Publicado 23 Fevereiro 2012 (editado) Decade of Honor #2 (Updated 02/01/2012) - The stage was initially set on June 22, 2002 when Ring of Honor held the "Road To The Title" event where 16 men battled it out in an elimination tournament. Their goal: to qualify for the ROH Title bout taking place in July. AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, Paul London, Spanky, Doug Williams, Low Ki, and Jay Briscoe were just some of the men who entered into the tournament that night but by the final bell it was Spanky, Christopher Daniels, Low Ki, and Doug Williams who made it to the finals and would have the opportunity to become the 1st ROH Champion. So it was on July 27th at "Crowning a Champion" in Philadelphia that those four men stepped into the ring to fight for the championship prize. The battle was contested under Iron Man Rules with the four warriors competing for 60 minutes to see who would earn the most falls, and thus the ROH Title. The Murphy Rec was filled to the rafters, the temperature in the building was breaking the thermometers, and all four men gave it everything they had to be able to wear the belt. After 60 grueling, exhausting, physically & mentally draining minutes, with a finally tally of Christopher Daniels at 2 points and both Spanky & Williams at -1 points, it was Low Ki, with 3 points to his credit, who earned the right to be called the 1st ROH Champion. The post-match interview with the exhausted new champion was as emotional as any you will hear in professional wrestling, and is a true testament to just what Ring of Honor has been built on: a pure love for the art, the sport, of professional wrestling. ---###--- Decade of Honor #3 (Updated 02/02/2012) - On February 8, 2003 Ring of Honor hit New York State for the very first time to celebrate its 1st anniversary inside the famous Elks Lodge in Queens. The "One Year Anniversary Show" was loaded from top to bottom with a Four Corner Survival that included Colt Cabana & EZ Money, the TWA students from Texas looking to prove themselves against the violent The Carnage Crew, Jay & Mark Briscoe battling one another as only Briscoes can, the unexpected arrival of CW Anderson alongside Steve Corino & his ensuing fight with CM Punk, an epic Three Way #1 Contender's Match with Paul London, Low Ki, and AJ Styles that was immediately followed by London challenging Xavier for the ROH Title, and of course, the infamous Scramble match that capped off the night's festivities. But there was one portion of the event that overshadowed everything else that night, one chaotic outburst that has simply become known as "The Riot" in the annals of ROH history. That night, after months of antagonistic behavior, Steve Corino and Homicide finally locked up one-on-one. To say Corino was the most hated man in the Lodge, fighting Homicide on his home turf after all, would be an understatement, and it became evident how hated he was when, after successfully beating "The Notorious 187" via submission, Steve reapplied the hold as his Group of CW Anderson & Michael Shane incited Homicide's friends and fans to do something about it. People, including one Julius Smokes, jumped the railing to come to the aid of Homicide which in turn brought out the majority of the locker room to fend off the barricade-jumping public. The scene degenerated into an absolute chaos that words can hardly capture, bringing the event to a screeching halt as those involved in the situation were removed, and giving the situation time to calm before the show continued. In the aftermath, Corino fled from ROH, refusing to return for the longest time while his Group fought Steve's battles in his stead. In fact, it would be another 6 months before "The King of Old School" would show his face in ROH again… ---###--- Decade Of Honor #4 (Updated 2/7/11) - At "Unscripted" on September 21, 2002, Xavier captured the ROH Title from LowKi on behalf of The Prophecy and amassed a fairly successful title lineage in the months that followed including victories over AJ Styles, Paul London, and Jay Briscoe. The Prophecy had a grip on the ROH Title but a roadblock of their own making was on the horizon. Samoa Joe was brought in by The Prophecy as a hired gun but his personal allegiance to Steve Corino brought him to The Group, Corino's unit standing in opposition to The Prophecy. The first step came at "Expect The Unexpected" where Joe earned his #1 Contendership over BJ Whitmer, Homicide, & EZ Money and the final blow came on March 22, 2003 at the "Night of the Champions" event where Samoa Joe decisively ended the title reign of Xavier; little did anyone know that Joe's victory that night was the start of something truly special. For 21 months, 645 days in total, Joe held the ROH Title and established its reputation as the premier prize for true professional wrestlers. He was the man who made it into a World Championship and essentially carried the reputation of Ring of Honor on his back for nearly two years. He beat the likes of Homicide, CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Chris Hero, AJ Styles, and Jay Briscoe just to name a handful of his 29 successful title defenses. Samoa Joe's championship reign is one that has yet to be matched in the 7+ years since his defeat, only Nigel McGuinness has come close but even he was 100 days shy of tying the record, and it is likely a record that will stand the test of time. ROH & the ROH faithful owe a great debt of gratitude to Samoa Joe for building the foundation of the ROH World Title and he is beyond doubt a true ROH Legend. ---###--- Decade of Honor #5 (Updated 2/8/12) - Prior to March 13, 2003 CM Punk was just an upcoming competitor in Ring of Honor looking to make his name. He was a man with great potential who had spent several months fighting his way through the ranks but then, at "Expect The Unexpected", everything changed. That night a former world champion, a man who had been battling personal demons his entire life, was set to make his debut. Yet before that could happen, Punk hit the ring and called out that man, the infamous Raven, and derided him for his history of substance abuse, which was in stark contrast to Punk's straightedge lifestyle. Punk preached his beliefs, challenged Raven to face him in a wrestling match, but Raven turned the tables and got Punk to accept a Raven's Rules match…in other words no rules. Still it was Punk who got the upper hand, beat Raven at his own game that night, and set the tone for the next several months as Punk continued to beat Raven at every turn. At "Night of the Champions", Raven picked Punk's rival/friend Colt Cabana to be his partner in a tag match while Punk took his trainer Ace Steel. Raven's team won when he pinned Ace, but after the match Colt joined in to assault Raven and the Second City Saints were born! For the next several months Punk beat Raven in tag matches, leading to a Dog Collar Match at the inaugural "Death Before Dishonor" that saw Punk once again best Raven. The scene deteriorated after the match when Punk forced a restrained Raven to drink beer after beer until Tommy Dreamer made the save and together they forced Punk to have his first beer. A cage match followed at "Beating The Odds" that Raven actually won but, in the aftermath, found himself "crucified" to a giant "X" (representing Straight Edge) at the hands of The Saints. At "Glory by Honor II" they hand picked each others opponents, leaving Raven to face Steve Corino & Punk to fight Terry Funk. Corino beat Raven for the first time ever due to Punk involvement while Punk beat Funk, then the Saints tried to assault him, until Raven & Dreamer made the save. It finally culminated at "The Conclusion" as Punk & Raven met one last time inside a Steel Cage. For nearly 20 minutes they tore into one another until finally Punk was able to slam the door into Raven's skull and drop down to the floor for the win. This was the rivalry that made Punk within Ring of Honor. From his interviews preaching those Straight Edge beliefs to the actual matches that spun out of his rivalry with Raven, CM Punk proved himself every bit as tough & versatile as the grizzled veteran. Without these wars who knows if Punk would have ascended to the heights he did in ROH, but one thing was certain after the door closed on that cage match, for Punk this was just the beginning… Editado 23 Fevereiro 2012 por Darkewne Compartilhar este post Link para o post
