Mister Master Publicado 8 Setembro 2016 WWE World Champion Dean Ambrose vs. AJ Styles AJ Styles has pinned "The Face that Runs the Place," twice. Now, The Phenomenal One sets his sight on The Lunatic Fringe that runs the asylum. Styles will challenge WWE World Champion Dean Ambrose at WWE Backlash Sunday, Sept. 11, live on WWE Network. If Styles' recent win streak is any indication, The Lunatic Fringe may be facing his biggest threat yet. The Phenomenal One ensured the title match would remain a one-on-one contest by defeating former World Champion Dolph Ziggler on the Aug. 23 edition of SmackDown LIVE. Yet, even before that, Styles had accumulated an impressive string of major victories including, most notably, going 2-0 against John Cena in singles competition this summer. Though the involvement of Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson tainted Styles' first win over the Cenation leader, Styles needed no outside assistance to defeat Cena in their all-time classic return match at SummerSlam. Styles might have the wind at his back heading into SmackDown LIVE's first brand-exclusive pay-per-view, but he also has an unpredictable and unrelenting Lunatic Fringe staring him in the face on Sept. 11. Ambrose's devil-may-care attitude has benefited his title reign thus far; will his kinetic style of fisticuffs continue to pay dividends against the dynamic force that is AJ Styles? SmackDown Women's Championship Six-Pack Challenge The first SmackDown Women's Champion will be crowned at WWE Backlash Sunday, Sept. 11, when Becky Lynch, Nikki Bella, Natalya, Naomi, Alexa Bliss and Carmella compete in a Six-Pack Challenge. The first Superstar to claim a fall will be declared the victor and new titleholder. SmackDown LIVE General Manager Daniel Bryan and Commissioner Shane McMahon unveiled the newly commissioned championship on Aug. 23, only two days after Team Blue received a "Fearless" surprise. The longest-reigning Divas Champion in history, Nikki Bella returned unannounced at SummerSlam in her first match back since undergoing neck surgery in January. Taking the spot of Eva Marie in a Six-Woman Tag Team Match, Nikki showed she hasn't lost a step, winning the bout for her team after torching Carmella with a new finishing maneuver. In a post-match interview, Nikki left no doubt that she has come back with the intention of dominating SmackDown LIVE, but to become the brand's top female Superstar, she must contend with a dangerous playing field that barely resembles the one she left in October 2015. Former Divas Champion Natalya has grown more vicious inside the ring since then, while "Irish Lass Kicker" Becky Lynch — the only member of the "Four Horsewomen" to have never won a title in either NXT or WWE — looks to prove that Bryan and McMahon's faith wasn't misplaced when they made her Team Blue's first female WWE Draft pick. SmackDown LIVE's increasingly stacked Women's division doesn't end there. With a new, jaw-dropping entrance to match her vivacious style of combat, Naomi is eager to leave the competition in the "Rear View," and WWE newcomers Carmella and Alexa Bliss seek to continue the trend of NXT women quickly ascending the ranks in WWE. Which Superstar will earn the distinction of becoming the first SmackDown Women's Champion? The Usos/Hype Bros. vs. Heath Slater & Rhyno — SmackDown Tag Team Championship Tournament Final SmackDown LIVE's top duo will be revealed Sunday, Sept. 11, with the culmination of the SmackDown Tag Team Championship Tournament at WWE Backlash between Heath Slater & Rhyno and either The Usos or The Hype Bros. Team Blue upper management formally announced the new titles and the eight-team tournament on Aug. 23, and in doing so, even opened the door for one popular free agent, Heath Slater, to potentially earn a SmackDown LIVE contract. After weeks of petitioning to be part of the blue brand, Slater was given the opportunity by Commissioner Shane McMahon and General Manager Daniel Bryan to take part in the tournament, provided he could find a partner. Slater was successful, convincing Rhyno to team with him, and per McMahon and Bryan's orders, Slater will be awarded a SmackDown LIVE contract only if he and Rhyno win the entire tournament. Against all odds, The One Man Band and The Man Beast made it to the final round after powering past The Headbangers in Round 1 and The Hype Bros in Round 2, but their ultimate test is a formidable one. After American Alpha upended Breezango and The Usos to advance to the tournament final, Jimmy and Jey Uso brutally attacked Chad Gable, injuring him and preventing the duo from competing at Backlash. On Talking Smack, Bryan and McMahon announced that The Usos and The Hype Bros. will face off at Backlash in a second-chance match with the winner facing Slater & Rhyno later that night in the tournament final. First Round Matches The Usos def. The Ascension American Alpha def. Breezango The Hype Bros def. The Vaudevillains Rhyno & Heath Slater def. The Headbangers Second Round Matches Heath Slater & Rhyno def. The Hype Bros American Alpha def. The Usos How will the tournament final shake out? Will Slater wind up with a job on SmackDown LIVE? Just as important, which duo will be the first to hold the SmackDown Tag Team Titles? Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt Bray Wyatt casts a long, ominous shadow wherever he goes, but at WWE Backlash, The New Face of Fear confronts an Apex Predator who knows no fear: Randy Orton. Wyatt laid out his wicked challenge to The Viper on the Aug. 30 edition of SmackDown LIVE, saying he's the predator now. As quickly as Orton accepted the dangerous invitation, however, Wyatt reinforced his mystical reputation, seemingly vanishing into thin air after the arena went dark. The mind games are part of a war that Wyatt has waged against Orton since just after SummerSlam. The New Face of Fear has targeted Orton in his cryptic sermons, denouncing The Apex Predator for being merely a man, a mortal soul that can feel pain and suffering. Unlike The Eater of Worlds, Orton has never claimed omnipotence, but his renowned mean streak perhaps even rivals Wyatt's. On top of that, Orton is equipped with arguably WWE's most debilitating weapon, the RKO, not to mention the bad mood that comes from having one's head split open by Brock Lesnar. Orton is spoiling for a fight, and Wyatt's challenge gives him just that opportunity. Will Bray Wyatt make a sacrifice of The Viper at WWE Backlash? Or, can Randy Orton repel The Eater of Worlds' devilish overtures with an explosive RKO? Intercontinental Champion The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler The Miz insists his Intercontinental Championship reign is "never-ending," but Dolph Ziggler will look to prove otherwise when they clash over the prestigious title at WWE Backlash on Sunday, Sept. 11. By hook or by crook, The Hollywood A-Lister has turned back one challenger after another, and he's on track to be the champion for 160 days by the time WWE Backlash arrives. Though Miz's means of retaining the title haven't always been popular with the WWE Universe or even SmackDown LIVE management — General Manager Daniel Bryan set off the champion when he called him a "coward" on the Aug. 23 edition of Talking Smack — there is no denying his success. Ziggler, on the other hand, will try to rebound from recent setbacks in high-stakes matches, most notably his failed attempt to dethrone WWE World Champion Dean Ambrose at SummerSlam. Never shy about his unreal athletic ability, The Showoff boasted of stealing the show "every damn night" with every chance he got. At WWE Backlash, the goal will not be to steal the show, but to win the title and silence any doubters, once and for all. Which Superstar will leave SmackDown LIVE's first brand-exclusive pay-per-view with the Intercontinental Title around his waist?
