  • Wantaway striker Luis Suarez has told Liverpool he does NOT want to play in any pre-season friendlies until his future is resolved.
  • Meanwhile, Liverpool's American owner John W Henry has told the club's supporters in Norway that Suarez will not be sold.
  • Daniel Levy will hold talks with Real Madrid in Miami today as Spurs admit defeat in their bid to keep forward Gareth Bale at the club.
  • Veteran Austria international Paul Scharner is set to be thrown a Premier League lifeline by Hull City who want to sign him from Hamburg for £1.3m.
  • Wigan boss Owen Coyle is close to winning the £1.5m race to sign Sunderland's Republic of Ireland winger James McClean.

  • Luis Suarez last night told The Daily Telegraph he will hand in a transfer request before the end of the week if Liverpool do not clear the way for him to move to Arsenal.
  • Real Madrid's proposed world-record signing of Gareth Bale will cost the Spanish club around £200million in the transfer fee and player wages.

 

The Times:

  • David Moyes suffered another headache on the eve of the new season last night when the Manchester United manager lost Nani and Jonny Evans to injury during a friendly match in Sweden.
  • Fulham, West Brom and Everton are all interested in in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Clement Chantome.
  • Belgian side Anderlecht are interested in Liverpool's Oussama Assaidi, 25, with the Reds wanting to recoup the £2.5m they paid for him last summer.

 

The Guardian:

  • Luis Suarez has pleaded with Liverpool to fulfil the promise they made a year ago and let him leave Anfield.

  • Real Madrid and Barcelona could soon be forced by the European Commission to relinquish their privileged status as member-owned clubs. Manchester United's Wayne Rooney would consider a move abroad if the transfer to Chelsea which he cherishes falls flat.
