Não fui, desisti daquela m*rda. A sério, eu devo ter algum problema cognitivo em relação à Matemática. Podia estar no último ano do curso e estou no 1º, à custa da Matemática do Secundário. Hoje, assinei a minha sentença de ficar mais um ano para concluir a licenciatura.

Só para meter mais um bocado de nojo, vi um bocado do jogo do Nadal na TSN ou ESPN ou lá que canal era e mostrou uma estatística em que as últimas 4 derrotas do Nadal em GS foram todas por lesão :mrgreen:

Ndayishimiye makes history for Burundi

 

 

For top seeded Jiri Vesely, a 17-year-old from the Czech Republic, playing at Grand Slams and seeing top-ranked tennis players is a routine occurrence. In contrast, for 16-year-old Hassan Ndayishimiye of Burundi, the Grand Slam experience and rubbing shoulders with famous players is brand new to his life. Both players shared one commonality on Monday. They won their opening round matches in the Wimbledon junior boys’ competition.

 

Vesely, the reigning Australian Open champion in the boys’ singles and doubles, took care of British hopeful and wildcard recipient Jonathan Cornish 64 62. “The first rounds are always a little bit difficult to start a new tournament,” Vesely said. “This is an important tournament, a Grand Slam. I played well for the first round but there are a lot of things I can do better in the next matches.”

 

Ndayishimiye, who received a wildcard into the boys’ qualifying tournament to earn a main draw berth, posted a solid 64 64 win over Matias Sborowitz of Chile. “I was patient,” Ndayishimiye said “This is a big deal because I wasn’t even supposed to be here, but they decided to give me a chance to come here and see how I could do. “I took my opportunity and I’m actually trying to keep it going.”

 

Vesely is accustomed to attention. He is the top ranked junior boy, has been around the junior game for a while and has played six previous Grand Slam tournaments. “In Paris it was more tough because I won in Australia and everybody thought I could win Paris, too,” said Vesely, who was upset in the first round at the recent Roland Garros. “After Paris, I think the pressure is going a little bit away. I can play my best tennis and show all the people around and players I’m still the No. 1.”

 

He’s also a familiar face to a number of top 10 players who practice at the same Prostejov, Czech facility, including 2010 Wimbledon finalist Tomas Berdych and Petra Kvitova. “In the last few months I practice with them, especially with Berdych,” Vesely said. “It’s a very good experience to practice with them. It’s a good feeling to play with a guy who is Top 10, it’s just perfect for the juniors because you can learn a lot of things from him. “Sometimes we play points, but it’s always still 61, 62 for him.”

 

While Vesely comes from a country rich in tennis history – Martina Navratilova and Ivan Lendl grew up in what was then Czechoslovakia -- Ndayishimiye comes from a country without much tennis played. The 16-year-old is the first Burundian to ever play at Wimbledon. This is his first appearance at any Grand Slam. A native of Bujumbura, the capital of Burundi, he grew up in a shantytown. His father is a tennis coach and through persistence developed Ndayishimiye into a young junior talent. “He was actually forcing me to play tennis because I didn’t really like tennis,” Ndayishimiye said. “I kept on playing and I won some tournaments. That’s what made me like tennis because I was a kid and I liked winning.”

 

Ndayishimiye has benefited from sponsorship help from the ITF and the Grand Slam Development Fund that offers young prospects from developing nations an opportunity to advance their training. Ndayishimiye has trained at the ITF Training Center in Pretoria, South Africa, since 2009. The Burundian is delighting in the opportunity to see all the top names in the game while hanging around Wimbledon. None of them know who he is so he hasn’t approached any for a chat. But that hasn’t stopped him from saying “Hi,” to a few when they’ve walked by. “I just have to thank the ITF and the Development Fund for giving me this chance and believing in me. I just want to take this opportunity to play as hard as I can. My goal is to just take each match at a time.”

 

É este rapaz que o Frederico Silva vai enfrentar a seguir. Um rapaz que não gosta de ténis, que diz que nem devia estar aqui e que vem de um país onde o ténis é uma excentricidade.

During the match I thought I had something serious but as the match went through the pain got better and thankfully the tests don't show an injury.
